I opened a sober living home for Veterans in Rumford Maine called Vets with Pets. I know I can not change the world, however I hope to change the world of the men in this program.
My Dad survived 4 tours in Iraq. A retired crew chief he took his own life in 2012 . He suffered in silence. Thank you to you Sir for your service and sacrifices and your words 🙏
Omg thank you 🙏 I’m crying as I write this…bless you & thank you for sharing your story- you will never know the profound impact you have had in my life for knowing I’m not alone suffering from PTSD❤
Exceptional speech, delivered with heart, humor and emotion. I am proud of what you have done, proud of what you have overcome, and proud of your outreach to change the lives of others. Most of all, I am proud to call you a friend. You are an inspiration!
This is an amazing talk. I don't understand why it doesn't have more views and comments. I hope that San Pao is still living STRONG today. But also, can we have a talk from someone living with PTSD who didn't serve? I'm not trying to discount the stories of those who did- their stories most definitely need to be heard. But as someone who's living with PTSD that didn't come from serving in a warzone, it would be nice to hear from someone like me. It would be nice to hear that I'm not the only one who's been told "you can't have PTSD because you didn't fight a war."
Please always remember that ptsd is a nervous system disorder. Your body is going through many physiological symptoms. Doesn’t matter how the traumatic event happened, if you have ptsd you’ll experience the hallmark side effects. Your pain is valid.
Thank you for your service and for sharing and inspiring recovery! I got injured saving the lives of 2 men whom I thought were dead; and got trapped myself in doing so, but we all survived that day. I can only speak for myself today..

I hear you. But a lot of trauma research, to help treat those who have not served, is because of those who served.
