Another barrier to treatment is the persistent myth that PTSD only comes from war or people in the military. That it's the only legitimate route to being disabled by post traumatic stress.
I have CPTSD,a dissociative disorder, and I also developed TLE(simple partial, complex partial, and grand mal seizures) which led to bipolar and ADHD symptoms as a result(I believe). Thanks to years of therapy,EMDR,meditation, yoga, pranayama, journaling, good nutrition, focusing on creative play, limiting my screen time, self compassion, and CBD I have been able heal.I am off almost all the medications I used to be on,I am happy, healthy, seizure free, and in love with life!Namaste
CPTSD isn’t a disorder as I understand it - also diagnosed. It is a brain injury if left untreated results in mental disorders like the ones you’ve described.
Sadly there are way too many psychiatrists that advertise they treat PTSD without the empathy to even understand how PTSD truly affects their patients. They will take your $300-$ 500 for a 10 minute session and write a script for something that in most people does nothing. Research any Dr you decide to go to before handing them a dime. I love this talk
Mental shocks can be felt early in life. Even in infancy. The damage is traumatic & can cause life long stress. Here’s a poem with an implied cure. Poem's title is “The New One’s Center Had Moved.” The new one’s center had moved. The infant’s place of anchor had gone. Neither the boy nor young man knew. Their lives were marked as well. All lost to empty time of living, Where wisdom & books have no meaning. They each looked to the man to be. “Grow up,” The man yelled. “Look out for yourself.” They all wanted a way back, Back to the place of beginning. They asked a fix from him. “Between the rising & setting sun,” He exclaimed, “Go to the beginning there. Breath out the flames which burn your heart. There your body & voice of being can be found. A life of quiet, joy & peace.” Hurry - The old man is coming!
i think people need to watch complete video, at least to understand little bit about the ptsd and its effects and the steps in dealing with it... which give a hope in getting out of it 🙏
Thank you for sharing, I too have recently received my long awaited diagnosis of CPTSD, suddenly it all makes sense! Up until diagnosis it had almost taken me 6 times 😞
Don't give up. It is possible to drive again even though it may seem impossible right now. I have PTSD and couldn't drive for years. Then I moved to a very small calm town and I slowly easied back into driving. I took things really slowly. I did have to face my fears and it was scary but overtime it got so much better.
This is all about, ONLY about, prevention and the title would be better if it conveyed that. Then longterm sufferers won't waste their time and hopes watching this video.
I'll certainly remember that Tetris trick. I had a boyfriend (recent breakup) that might have undiagnosed PTSD. The man is 52 years old and had many traumatic childhood and more recent experiences. He complains of feeling angry all the time, is hypervigilent, and avoidant. I am not sure he has flashbacks, though.
PTSD is a brain injury not a mental disorder. Some Symptoms show up as those associated with mental disorders. Those treatments don’t heal the brain. As someone who has spent the last decade searching for and insisting on proper treatment for my diagnosed complex PTSD it is so infuriating that very few experts who talk about it talk about it as what it is - an actual injury (change) to the brain that has severe consequences to the central nervous system and body.
@WEBSPORES ON INSTAGRAM Thank you for the recommendation. I’ve done a lot of research on that particular treatment. I’m not sure I’m 100 percent comfortable with this yet. I do, however, appreciate knowing you’ve had a good experience. My ex also had a fairly good experience.
Thank you, your comment really resonated with me. Have been dealing with C-PTSD for several years, and am finally accepting how the continual stress and hyperarousal rewires the brain and body to a great degree, taking a significant emotional and physical toll. I coped by suppressing a lot of emotions out of necessity, but I couldn't prevent the effects on my body. So I've been dealing with the physical health aspect for a few years while still trying to pretend everything is okay. It's scary to think about actually feeling my real emotions again, because I've forgotten what that's like? Still trying to figure out how to get back in touch with them since I've "trained" myself to suppress & avoid them for so long. Baby steps, I guess. I hope you're doing well on your road to recovery ❤️
My worry in the country I live Scotland that they are diagnosing and medicating people who have PTSD... they are diagnosed with BPD ... it’s causing extensive damage because of the implications of non recognition of PTSD in Scotland 🏴
Sadly there are very few psychiatrists that are capable of helping people with PTSD even when they advertise they do. It is actually criminal to advertise that can fix something they do not have the empathy to understand it there full unable to treat.
I'd love to use this excellent video in my community college instruction. But we require accurate captions (including punctuation and capitalization). Can you please edit the auto-generated captions, or turn on "community contributions" so that I may submit an edited caption track? Thanks!
I’m going through covid lock down. It’s been over 3 months. I was raised by an alcoholic. I was traumatized continuously. The lock down and loneliness has crippled me. It brings up past memories and emotional hurts😪😓😥 thank you for your work. ❤️
We all have PTSD and early intervention doesnt work. When you already have it, a long way of doing on youreself is helpful. The problem is that you cant now when you are going to have that state. Because you can have some small trauma that can cause it. I didnt know that Ill develop that. And the patient is necessary for working with trauma. Probably it os something with organisation of the hypocampus and frontal part pf the brain. I recomend to try EMDR therapy and Somatic practice. Also meditation for grounding, self discipline, inner child work, etc. There is no magic pill for this. A paintfull road. Also Amazonian plants. MDMA is in the finishing proces of research, and they suppose to get it in service woth specialist in 2021. Lets hope for that to work
@@bebaaskaful Thank you for your suggestions. Unfortunately I believe all of these techniques to be placebo. But as you have said there is no magic solution. I agree with the sentiment.
The solution she gave was to move mental health care providers to the places people first come after the trauma so that there is a chance to catch it before it becomes a problem.
On UA-cam you will find, "Is CBD being suppressed". Its the story of both my children...their extreme challenges, and how CBD oil alleviated (not cured) there conditions. When you realize how severe my kids are you will be amazed that CBD worked for them at all!!!! F.Y.I.

Dr Jain needs about 7.9 billion more likes. Funding mental health adequately is a huge issue here in Canada. We need people in clinics like her.

Did we date??!! Lol.
In Kenya:: Teaching girls self-defense is half the equation. What are you teaching the boys, who are and/or will grow up to be the perpetrators?

Please try EMDR ... !

Its energy stuck in our muscles. It Has to go out in order to heal.

@@SilverSurfeq1989 Hmm I don't think the energy will go anywhere but I agree that process starts around our muscles. I also believe at the bones.
