- Thank you for joining us for the 2022 Furniture Flipper’s $100 Challenge Collaboration hosted by SAb’s Rehabs. In this challenge, Dani and Sherry attempt to turn an old. Scratch-uped and tired dresser into something with a little more life. Can they do it when they have to count the price of every single little hand tool as a cost?

Thanks Z!!! I think we originally saw someone do it on an accent wall in their home on Pinterest a few years ago. We tried it as backsplashes in our home and RV, loved it and have been wanting to try it on furniture for a long time. Overall, it was pretty fun and easy. 😍

It's pretty but I'd imagine hard to dust with all the different lines & I'd personally probably get a splinter no doubt as I do anytime I mess with wood lol 😊
Thanks for your comment. Mom actually used the shims in her bathroom as a back splash. We sand them smooth and finish them so there is no problem with splinters and they just need an occasional wiping down or vacuuming with a handheld brush attachment.
I love rethunk junk. I bought a replica Duncan Phyfe and used the black paint.

You can also use pre-stain conditioner on the shims. Looks so cool!
Yes, the shims did turn out a bit blotchy. For this look we were okay with it as it was a very subtle stain but pre-stain conditioner would certainly make it look more uniform. Thanks, Rhiannon!
