Marshall amps have built in softube technology so we can use an emulatored out straight into an interface for direct recording with no Impulse Response.
I thought I’d give it a test.....What do you think?

Ive owned the DSL100HR since a month after launch and its a great head. Ive only used the emulated out a handful of times as it was intended but use it normally for my tuner pedal. That way i dont have to have yet another true bypass pedal adding capacitance to my signal chain. I build pedals from scratch often and have a pedal buying addiction so the pedals on my board are already too many. In a perfect world without cable capacitance in the absence of enough buffered pedals id be running about 20 pedals. But since we dont live in a perfect world ive got it down to 14 at the moment (6 upfront with the rest in the loop). So being able to keep the tuner out of the signal chain is great. Plus i can keep the amp in standby and tune up silently since the emulated out still works in standby and in the 50w/100w modes. Im also able to have just one cable connected to my tuner at its input using the emulated out rather than having to run my signal through the pedals in and outs.
As far as the quality of the emulated out used as intended into my D.A.W. goes im kind of neutral in my feelings. Its not excellent but its certainly useable if that's absolutely necessary. Especially if you add some good plugins to further shape the tone. I personally find that the quality you get from actually micing the cabs is worth the extra effort and will only really be happy/proud of a recording if it was directly mic'd. With the emulated out you just dont get a lot of tonal/harmonic content. Its like you turned the resolution down a ton. Its the same performance but all the nuance and tonal quality of the tubes is lost. Im glad Marshall decided to include emulated out but only because its one more feature id never need but am glad i have "just in case" (The same way someone who lived in Alaska would need a beach ball "just in case"). And even more so because as i said before i can use it for my tuner pedal. I think Marshall should label the Emulated Out for both of those purposes on the next generation (Emulated and Tuner Out) lol.

They have some legit Marshall IRs and for a mini amp that sounds pretty good. I'd use it for demos and silent recording. Maybe a bit of EQ and saturation to give a better stereo spread, but on the whole it sounds like mid 90s metalcore to me. Which isn't a bad thing at all.

Finally a usable illustration of this, thanks man.. Wish they left more high end mids in it.. Sounds too muffled.. Only as a kind of a backup worst case scenario, def not Great sounding.. But kind of usable.. Surely there are options with send and external ir loader or even better a real mic if possible.. But still, its a missed opportunity, being released nit that long ago, 2018
