You got me looking for a San Dimas HH HT and I have yet to see one for sale. I am seeing the Pro Mod DK HH HT which I assume is an update but they are usually priced above a new So Cal.

The frets on this guitar stick out so much that it hurts trying to play some of my go to licks. They say its built for speed but its not. Its a hard guitar to play and annoying Try playing it standing up let me know how you forearm feels after a a couple of hours. The body sticks in to your forearm unlike any guitar and not in a good way. here are the positives, it sounds like an absolute monster, the lead cuts through anything. Sounds great for studio and looks great. Also if you like really low action, forget it. you can only go so low with those big frets.

I just bought it and can't wait to get it in the mail. These kinds of modeling amps are perfect because they have a headphone output that I can connect to my big JBL PartyBox 310. And an amp that is already excellent becomes absolutely incredible when connected to the right speaker system. When I feel like it and want to play with something light, I can unplug it and use the amp alone. And the Blackstar Architect software is really excellent-intuitive, well-designed where it needs to be, simple, and so on. I still keep a tube amp with a 2x12 cab for when I want to change things up and need a big, full sound, but I stick with modeling amps because there's no need for big amps nowadays. I even have the little Positive Grid Spark Go.

Sounds great, I'm thinking of getting this amp, watch Fish, hike, and make music's video on this amp to make it sound its greatest.

Right on cue man, I just got that Schecter John Browne Tao 6 and it made me realize that some of my other guitars don’t fit my hands well and now I’m in the process of getting more 42mm nut width guitars instead of 43mm (my ESP LTD M1000 has a giant 1.692” and is more uncomfortable for me vs the Schecters 1.643”). It’s funny cause I’ve been playing for quite a long time and never even gave this a second thought until recently.

I take apart every guitar I get especially FR ones, and go through every part, deburring, chamfering, blowing out the sawdust and polishing compound, lubing what moves, Loc-titeing what stays put, preemptive shots of De-oxit D5 in pots, intonation, relief, action height, everything. It takes time but I'm never sorry I did it. Here's a new one I found today. My son kept telling me his strings were "slipping" and the guitar was detuning. I thought he was imagining things. I was swapping out his saddles today from zinc FR "Special" to steel 1000 series, and found out he was right while trying to set it back up. Turns out the damn FR springs kept stretching! I caught it because the angle of the bridge kept changing slightly. I was like are the trem claw screws pulling out of the body?! Then it occurred to me the springs were probably stretching, as unlikely as that seemed. Changed them to some EVH springs I had from a guitar I have apart. Solved. New fear unlocked. LOL

3 years later, just bought my first 5150 III 50 watt in Ivory. Headphone jack I cant get enough of. Fuck Yea. Its crazy how the Chug comes through the headphones just like the 4x12 cab.

Another small but important tip is this.....parts wear out. Even hardened chromoly. Saddles, nuts, screws, wood, etc.

I just wish this guitar had the huge ml headstock. It would be 3x the metal if it did

I have smallish hands. Love my Schecters. The "thin C" of the Apocalypse I think is the best all purpose of the two I have, and attempting to play bluesier slurred Adrian Smith leads on the Banshee's "ultra thin C" I feel like I need more leverage that is missing. I also have a Jackson USA SL1 and due to the width some things just feel weird up high like you covered. I think so much depends on what you are playing...I have a Fernandes Revolver with the weirdest mix of neck: 16 inch radius and a very full shouldered chunk of C shaped maple and it is my all round best player I think. So much I think depends on what you are playing...I def feel the need for a bit more heft on bends.

About to buy one of these very very soon!

good points, try a fender jaguar the japan ones are 42 nut and dont spread too wide as you go up plus they are the shorter scale and c profile

I have a Schecter with a 41.3mm nut width. As a petite female, I have small palms and short fingers. The (even smaller) nut width does help with finger stretch, but it can result in me muting strings sometimes. So, its a blessing and a curse. Where I struggle is bending the wrist with trying to get fingers perpendicular to the fret board in order to press down with the fingertips.

Finally a usable illustration of this, thanks man.. Wish they left more high end mids in it.. Sounds too muffled.. Only as a kind of a backup worst case scenario, def not Great sounding.. But kind of usable.. Surely there are options with send and external ir loader or even better a real mic if possible.. But still, its a missed opportunity, being released nit that long ago, 2018

The Washburn BT is 24.75 inch scale and has a thin little neck. A very underrated little guitar. Washburn is a good brand!

V3 sounds actually more in the mix like early 2000s.....V4 was so out there with a post hardcore type sound....a lil tough to digest

The 5150 has more chuggy noise and more bass on the EQ. The Pedal sounds a bit with higher frequencies. Are both equalized the same?

Any time you use a pedal of any kind your review is useless.

i use Rok-Loks they go on any strap and clip on any strap button and you only need one set

When I use to preform live I used a 6505+ and a JSX for backup..some nights I'd use the JSX for the hell of it..fantastic amp 🔥
