For me, Cats is number 1 man, Joker is a close second. Cats changed the horror genre for me. 10 years ago, I would have never imagined the horror genre to go this direction. Great scares and I was super frightened the whole movie. No jump scares yet it still gave me nightmares for a week

Now that I see the comments below I’ll throw in my own two cents. My personal two favorite movies of this decade are ‘Joker’ and ‘Dawn of the Planet of the Apes’. My two least favorite are ‘Truth or Dare’ and ‘When the Bough Breaks.’ Anyone else have their two favorites and least favorites?

Which is a good thing as his list was kinda lackluster. In the end it is all subjective, but to not even have Joker on the list is just silly to me. It was at least a better and a more entertaining movie than The Irishman which was good, but very overrated imo. I have not seen all the movies that Stuckman had on his list, but even if I did, I think my list would be more like Jeremys list as I agree much more with his reviews than I do Stuckmans reviews.

Ready or not was such a surprise. I'm so happy I got roped into seeing that!
Great list! But I personally would have added Spider-Man: Far From Home. It was a brilliant, personal story for Peter and you get to really see him come to grips with the loss of another father figure in Tony Stark. Also, Jake Gyllenhaal absolutely crushed it as Mysterio. Being a comic book fan, I already knew of his facade but it still worked brilliantly in the context of the movie. His illusion sequences are some of the best comic book moments I've seen in a comic book movie in years.

Favorite theater experience this year was Avengers Endgame. Cap picking up Mjolnor was a goosebump moment when experienced with a bunch of strangers. My favorite movie surprise was Peanut Butter Falcon. I can’t describe how happy that movie made me. Also I can’t wait to see Joker.

I'm honestly just so happy horror did so well this year. There were so many awesometacular films, which I'm sad weren't mentioned. You had US, the Lighthouse, and to a lesser caliber Doctor Sleep. I didn't see Midsommar but I heard good things about it. He mentioned Ready or Not.
2019 was one of the best years for Film
Pretty solid list I haven't seen all the movies still want to see a few of these should come out this month so looking forward
My top 10 (in alphabetic order):
1. Ad Astra
A beautiful intrapersonal voyage through space about the relationship of a man with his father.
2. Atlantics
It shows us the social cultural setting in Senegal with a supernatural element to tell a love story.
3. The Farewell
A view of a culture shock and family.
4. I Lost My Body
Animation about a young man that needs to recover his ambition and joy for life.
5. The Irishman
Scorsese focus his gangster cinema around friendship, loyalty, treason and oblivion.
6. Marriage Story
A lovely and sad tale of a couple and the problems during a divorce.
7. Midsommar
Story about the grief and toxic relationships with horror (and a bit of humor).
8. Pain and Glory
Charming film about a man reflecting about his life.
9. Parasite
It achieves mix of genres to talk about social hierarchy.
10. Portrait of a Lady on Fire
An intimate love and passion film with a gorgeous cinematography.
I feel like this year movies have been so disposable (1917/parasite is still my number 1) that video games and tv series had their good run. Video games (death stranding, sekiro, fallen order, etc) as well as TV shows (idk really, watchmen, mandalorian, Witcher, russian doll, Chernobyl, etc) there's a lot to mention and I'm greatful that VG and TV shows are solid experience to end this decade.
You will enrich it quite, and start watching Italian, French, German, and Korean movies. You will have a bigger cinematic knowledge, and will not watch many shitty movies as fifty shades of gray, it is subtitled, but it's just you start, that your mind explodes from new experiences, I love your list and you are so great!! Happy new year buddy

@@prometheus5405 Its still a comic book movie! The Jokers idea is that everybody has the little bit of craziness and anarchy inside. It is what drives The Punisher as well as he said "youre one bad day away from being me". The concept is known to us. There is this movie called "Falling Down" with Michael Douglas which essentially has the same theme. At some point, everybody snaps. There is only so much a person can endure, and god knows all they want is an idol or somebody to look up to in their worst time. Thats how Hitler got his power.
Parasite has a very similar theme, because it is also about the relationship between classes. And i have to agree that it handled the topic much better and is definitely the better movie. Sadly many people wont watch it because it has subtitles...

I haven't seen it yet but based on the reviews I've watched it has multiple elements that make it no where close to being the worst. Crazy, insane, ridiculous and possibly even pointless? Yes surely, but worst? probably not even close.

Parasite had one flaw it didn't come to Scotland plus i saw the ending on YT it was bad not the best with no English language.
