Good films, you know "are good"
These films, well they're the ones where you're left with that hollow "I don't think that was good.." feeling
(and when you hear you're not alone, feels so much better)

Venom and Black Widow are excellent examples of where I watched, being aware the reviews were 'fine' but I emerged at the end and had that little voice saying "That was a bit shit"

People often have the attitude that because it’s a grandparent and losing them eventually is something we all will experience, it’s not a big deal. But when you’re super close to your grandmother like I was with mine, it hits super hard. It’s currently taking a big toll on me now but we all support each other as a family to get through it.

I moved from the city back to my small town, living out in the middle of nowhere, 2 years ago to take care of my parents. We lost my mom almost a year ago in January 2021. I’m now helping with my dad. He’s 87 but still pretty self sufficient so I’m able to live next door. I think the thing I miss the most from the city is the Internet. We have horrible internet. Just a crappy DSL and satellite. Makes everything so much harder. I really hope your mom gets better and pulls through all this. I miss mine everyday.

    Hey Jeremy,
I just wanted to say, your story hit home really hard for me.
Last year on Christmas Eve, my dad had a stroke and it was lucky, because my mum was around to get him to the hospital.
I was visiting, but wasn't with them at the time, they were out shopping.
My dad thankfully didn't have any long term affects and fast forward all this time, he can walk on his own (if a bit slower)
Now I live with the both of them, because mum has essentially taken up the role of carer, whilst I take care of all of the house work and whatever needs to be done and stuff, so she doesn't burn out and get too exhausted all of the time.

Very touching Jeremy, thank you for sharing. I hope you and your family had a good new year and Christmas.
I can relate, last year my mum got a virus that hospitalised her and in that process they picked up blockages in her heart. She had to have an emergency triple bypass. It was the scariest time of my life. If she didn't get the virus, her severe condition might not have been picked up in time. Something like that really does make you grateful for your loved ones and for the uncanny way the universe can look after you. @@ASD_BERSERKER Yeah, I really don't like the argument that it being released too late, is it's biggest problem. The problem is that nothing in the movie works. It assassinates it's main character, which means that we don't care what happens to her (even IF we didn't know she was gonna die anyway), and all the new character suck. Yelena is a total waste of a character (She should've been like Bucky in this, with severe social issues and PTSD). People don't actually like Yelena, they like Florence Pugh. Alexei is like the worst dad ever. Melina is like a horrible monster. The villains are shit, the comedy is shit, and the action is shit. The plot is as broken as Natasha's nose. The only thing that's good about it, is the music, which is actually pretty damn good, most of the time. It's a 2/10 movie, and is in the Top 5 worst things in the MCU, together with Eternals, Captain Marvel, Loki, and Falcon and the Winter Soldier.

Thanks for sharing that, Jeremy. My dad also had a heart attack earlier this year. Interestingly, I didn't find out that he had had a heart attack until a few days afterward--what makes this interesting is that I kept feeling that week like I should call my dad and check on him, like something was wrong with his heart. And it turns out that that feeling was right. Fortunately, he's alright now.
But yeah, if you have loved ones, definitely give them a call, bad feeling or not.

Hey Jeremy, I’m glad to hear your dad was able to survive and I hope that you’ve been able to grow closer and also take time for yourself as needed. He sounds like a really great guy. I think we’d like to meet Mr. Jahns, if that’s okay - maybe get a sense of what his favorite movies are! In any case, I hope you had a good Christmas and wish you all the best for 2022. And congrats to your dad on being 5 months smoke-free. My dad has been sober and smoke-free for 2 years now after several failed attempts - it’s a tough road, but with support from people like you who love him, it will make all the difference.

101 Dalmatians has always been one of my favorite Disney movies. Ever since I can remember. I think I dressed up as a dalmatian for Halloween at least 3 years in a row when I was a kid. Knowing that, you should be able to understand how much I hated Cruella. I was so unbelievably angry by the end of it, that you could practically see the smoke coming out of my ears. I actually avoided watching it for the longest time, because I couldn't fathom how they could possibly make such an irredeemably evil character like Cruella sympathetic while still making the original story make sense. Well that's easy. They didn't. Everything that happens in Cruella completely negates the original storyline of 101 Dalmatians. So it doesn't even need to happen, based on how Cruella ended. None of it made any sense. I could right an essay on how insulting this movie is to the legacy of 101 Dalmatians. It felt like a slap in the face to all old Disney fans.

Jeremy, dude, if you knew how much your videos have meant to me (all of us) over the course of the pandemic and well before that. A few years ago about the only thing I could consistently look forward to was coming home to watch your new videos on UA-cam. It's one of the few habits that has not changed with the pandemic. And now that I'm happily married my wife has joined me in my tradition of watching UA-cam video reviews after we come back from the movies or finish watching a new series. So, in short, THANK YOU, man. So glad to hear your dad is doing better. Gonna make that phone call now! ;)

Rewatching this at the end of 2022. Talking about your dad's condition hit me kinda hard. This year I lost both my granddads and almost lost a grandmom. Lost my mom in 2014, so taking care of grandmom is on me and my sister. It's been tough but family is key to getting through tough times. God bless you and your dad and praying all is well with your dad.

You never know when you could lose someone that important to you. I hope, in some small way, me watching you keeps the channel, as well as you, going. Love you man.

I know I'm late to this video, but I just wanna say, that I understand your need to take care of your dad. I lost my grandpa (who basically raised me) at an unexpected young age from what we assume was a terrible stroke this year, and it broke my heart that I wouldn't be able to spend any more time with him, and it still affects me today. So seriously man, take all the time you need for your dad, I'm sure we will all be here to watch your stuff and help you along on this weird journey of life. All but 2 of the movies on this list are sequels, prequels, or remakes of other movies, and Black Widow is a shoddy expansion on a pre-existing character as a cash grab attempt. If that doesn't say for itself how low and money grabbing Hollywood has become, and how void of original ideas they are, then I don't know what does. This entire list speaks for itself. We want new and original movies, please. Also glad your dad is doing well Jeremy! Props to you for taking care of him like a good son.

There were so many new original movies this year that just got overshadowed because they were independent. Amazing movies like C'mon C'mon, Mass, Spencer, CODA, Red Rocket, Titane and so many others that I'm sure most people haven't even heard of. PTA's new film Licorice Pizza was pulled off of some theatres to manage more screens for No way home or the new matrix film... So yeah new and original movies do exist it's just that unfortunately so few people watch them that theatres just stop playing them

*I was watching Shang Chi* and enjoyed myself but - - what was all the hype about? The action was cool but the villain wasn’t amazingly written - it’s your standard MCU “I lost someone and that’s my motivation to do something villainous” villain motivation.. he wasn’t written badly but there’s been villains outside of the MCU that have been so much better written that it just becomes unimpressive after a while.

Medalion - it’s possible - people do go crazy over representation.. but literally all the MCU villains are the same (the remotely good ones) Thanos, Killmonger, Zemo, Shang Chi’s Dad, Vulture, Mysterio all come from the same “I’ve lost someone in the past or was treated poorly and am using it as a driving factor to do bad things” literally all of their biggest factors behind them - - is the audience feeling sympathy for them. Which is fine - but it’s literally every villain now.
