dredd and jennifer's body
In my opinion, Edgar Wright's "The World's End" is the most underrated film ever made, and it also happens to be one of my all time favorite movies. It always gets overlooked by all of Edgar Wright's other films. Also, how is Clue underrated?
Sling Blade
Pixar's Brave! for a princess story with a teenager as a main protangatist it seems to make a strong statement with a relationship between mother and daughter.

1. After Hours (1985)
Thank you 💚🌳
You're the best! ❤️
Appreciate it chief
Thank you
Thanks
Lucky Number Sleven is one of the most underrated, underappreciated movies out there.
"Go to" date movie. It has it all!
That is a great movie!
I swear that's one of my favorite movies I watched it at least 10 times
@@kburrell81 no lie, I can call you my brother after that comment!
More so than kiss kiss bang bang which says a lot!
Children of men. Didn’t make a profit in theatres and not nearly enough recognition at awards season, though it being one of the best movies I’ve seen of the last couple decades. Seriously this movie is beyond amazing and it frustrates me that no one talks about it
Same. Add Predestination to the list.
Dude, that fucking one shot scene after the baby is amazing
I was deeply affected by it, I need to see it again. I remember leaving the theater like
Whoa
I liked it, appreciated all the hard work they put into it, but I’m surprised when I hear people praising it so high.
Children of Men is one of if not the best film ever made
Prisoners is one of the best movies I've ever watched. As a father, it really makes you think the lengths you'd go for your children. Jackman was brilliant in this as well as the other actors.
Paul Dano did another freaking great job as did Jake Gyllenhaal. Loved that movie, cringed every time Hugh Jackman hit Paul Dano.
Also give Nocturnal Animals a watch. I kid you not.
So bloody good and believable especially from a father’s point of view…Jackman was phenomenal
@@victoriamcdevitt5382 loving the rise of Paul Dano
I was so happy to see Prisoners on this list. Easily one of my favorite movies of all time. It's phenomenal
Prisoners really threw me for a curveball, and it’s ending was the most surprising. It was interesting to see Jackman in something other than the X-Men (at the time).
I'm so happy that it's on that list. Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal's performances are also some of their most underrated of their careers
I LOVE this movie! Saw it with my mom to celebrate our B-Days that year since it came out around the same time. This movie deserved so much more praise than it got.
Prisoners was EXHAUSTING. 😂
But good.
@@trippyboi91 A brilliant emotional wringer.
Hugh Jackman was awesome back in the day with Christian Bale in the movie The Prestige, also!
The most underrated comedy, which should have been on the list, is Galaxy Quest. Amazing ensemble, original concept, hilarious work from really talented people. Doesn't get nearly enough love. It's even underrated compared to other underrated films.
That movie perfectly walked the tightrope of being goofy without being too goofy and cheesy. Great flick that still holds up✊... Merry Christmas!🎄🎅
Yeah just watched it the other night still amazing
I love that movie
Hard agree!
Great film
Sleepers (1996) , Robert de Niro, Jason Patric , Brad Pitt , Kevin Bacon , such a strong boys to men , revenge film
The amazing thing about Clue, is that had several different endings made and played various of them at cinema so people were confused when talking about the ending and it didn’t match with others experiences xD
I have the DVD & there’s an option to watch all the endings or have a random one. I always end up watching all the endings, but it’s so much fun putting it on random and trying to guess which one you’re going to get! 😂
Afters Hours is one of Scorsese's most rewatchable films. Absolutely wild and hilarious and genius all rolled into one.
Great album based on the film too
Surrender Dorothy!
For years, I've thought Bowie stole that film with a few cameos, and then I realized Bowie was in Into the Night, not After Hours.
It is!!!
"Gattaca" is among the most underrated films ever. Ethan Hawke has said in recent interviews that the movie he still gets approached about the most is Gattica. Everyone should see that film. Wonderful! Underdog story.
"Prisoners" is also super solid. That is acting 101. My gosh that movie is edge of your seat material from beginning to end. Hugh Jackman's best performance in my opinion. Gyllenhall and Paul Dano are exceptional.
"A Simple Plan" is a masterpiece! I'm dead serious, you will not see better acting. That movie is intriguing, upsetting, emotional and entirely thought provoking. That is the best movie Bill Paxton and/or Billy Bob Thornton have ever made. I've watched it at least 8 times. Both Bill Paxton and Billy Bob should have been nominated for an award. Career highlights for both. Rest in peace, Bill Paxton. Top 25 all time for me.
'The Hitcher (1986)' deserves a spot on this list. It is one of Christopher Nolan's favorite movies and Heath Ledger's Joker was actually based on Rutger Hauer's character in the movie.
Excellent movie 👍
Scared the hell out of me when I was a kid.
Prisoners was my first rated R movie and after that I watched it multiple times, it's an amazing movie so underrated and it's a movie that hits you in your feelings and I feel like it's a must see
Thats brutal for your first r rated 😂
Now try Zodiac.
Because his predesssor was Mistic river
The most underrated film that I've seen is Stranger Than Fiction starring Will Farrell. It's one of the best movies that I've watched, and it's a movie that I think everyone should see once in their lifetime.
I watched that when it first came out, was working at a Hollywood Video,p at the time, and I liked it a lot. I suggested it to anyone who asked about it. It was a unique idea of a story.
Originally, I was surprised with how great of a job he did in a drama movie compared to his iconic comedic roles.
I always love seeing actors in projects that are the complete opposite of what they are known for.
No it’s not… Will Ferrell is terrible. You couldn’t pay me to watch anymore of his shitty movies
Yeah. I really liked that movie too, but it’s the 2 female co-stars who make it a great movie. Emma Thompson in particular did a great job throughout the movie, and I can’t picture anyone else doing such a good job in narrating that story
I super agree
In Bruges is massively underated
I think it's highly rated and well-known. Yes, a great film though.
@@scottslotterbeck3796no it’s not no one talks about that masterpiece of a film at all
This is quite literally what I was thinking as the ad played.
@@scottslotterbeck3796Go ask a stranger if they've heard of it.
Brawl in Cell Block 99 is criminally underrated. You wanna watch a good movie, check it out.
Some of these are more underlooked than underrated. Difference being they're acclaimed by critics, audiences just miss them.
Exactly. Most of these are critic's darlings, but were overlooked by audiences.
I imagine the Mojo crew sitting around for a couple of hours coming up with this list. Necessarily incomplete.
Dredd is one of my favorite films of all time and not only it deserves more attention and also definitely deserves a sequel.
I keep rewatching it often. It needs a sequel :)
Facts
I said. Hotshot
Sequels would ruin it. I know in a sequel they would replace Karl urban with some chick, and then it would all be just stupid after that.
@@freebee8221 Uhm dude. Just because something like that happens to some sequels, doesn't mean it'll happen every single time. Like look at Top Gun Maverick for goodness sake.
Prisoners is one of my top ten favorite movies ever! Love Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaalin it.
same, and Paul Dano
When Clue came out in Theaters, the Movie Theaters had the option of showing us 1 of 3 different endings...
People would call the Theater and ask which ending they had, and when they would be showing it.
I've seen all but two of these films. Each received critical acclaim, but not always box-office success.
Thief is excellent, and Gattaca is in my perennial list of the best science fiction films. After Hours is brilliant and a must see.
One of your best list! I would add The Conversation with Gene Hackman.
Prisoners and Barry Lyndon is not a hidden gem, they are 2 of the best critically acclaimed movies ever made.
Solid list. I’m thrilled you included Gattaca but I would place it even higher. Matchstick Men and A Simple Plan were also great choices
Pretty solid list. Bonus points for including Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, probably one of my favorite movies of all time. Shane Black had to fight to get RDJ cast in the movie because no insurance company wanted to cover him given his past. It's why RDJ insisted on Shane helming the sadly underwhelming Iron Man 3.
Good thing because not only was RDJ fantastic but it was the start of his big comeback. Also the breakout role from Michelle Monaghan.
As far as popularity goes..... Hotel Rwanda not being on this list is a shame.
Don Cheadle absolutely nailed his part.
That movie got a ton of critical acclaim and Oscar nominations, and is currently on the IMDB top 250. It is anything *but* underrated.
I would add Dark City, Frailty, and Identity to this list. All three weren't huge when they came out, and all three are really good movies. I own each one. Oh, and Frailty and Identity both have excellent twist endings.
I loved Identity and Frailty. I haven't seen Dark City, I'll have to check it out. Radio City Flyer should be added to the list, great film.
Dark City is such an amazing movie . I saw the influence in the matrix when that movie first dropped. Dark City must've influenced it .
Frailty is one I can watch over and over and notice something new each time. 🤌
Dark City is in my top ten.
Frailty wasn't that good imao. Identity was indeed one of the most underrated films ever. The twist was amazing.
I love "Dan in Real Life"!
And "After Hours" is brilliant."Clue" is so much fun! My friends and I watched it over and over. And had the chance to tell Tim Curry how much we enjoyed it when we met him in the late 80's. ☺️
OK...officially jealous.
50/50 is not only a truly underrated movie.
But also one of Seth Rogan’s best performance to date. Both the chemistry between him and Joseph Gordon Levitt match perfectly in this movie.
how is it not underrated
@@jimbo9208 OP states that it's a truly underrated movie. Not sure what you read.
I keep trying to think of the originally cast James MacAvoy in the JGL role and it doesn’t fit. The film really holds up well and deserves a wider audience.
This was a great movie. Glad it made it on the list. Angelica Houston nailed her role of the overbearing mother. The scene right before JGL went into his cancer surgery where he became completely vulnerable with his mom brought tears to my eyes. Frustrated with her or not, he knew this might be the last time he saw her. He let out all his pent up fear to be comforted by the one person in the world that always has and always will love him unconditionally. I related to that moment so well.
Seth rogen sucks, as an actor he has zero range.
SO GLAD you included The Assassination of Jesse James. One of my all time favorites, its so beautiful and incredible!
Casey Affleck did so well in that film!
Also, the score!!
@@niles8102 one of my favorite scores of all time
@@niles8102 and one of the best performances of all time
Beautiful, yes.
Thank you for Gattaca, I’m always trying to tell people about it!
Excellent list… here are a few more:
1.) Ides of March
2.) LA Confidential
3.) Runaway Jury
4.) Hell or High Water
5.) Drive
6.) Phone Booth
7.) The Count of Monte Cristo
8.) Sunshine
9.) 3:10 to Yuma
10.) The Sting
… and of course…
11.) Pootie Tang
Lol, ok, jk with that last one
How about Jeff who lives at home
@@danielmiller6286 Never seen it. Worth it?
Hell or High Water is excellent 👍
@@rossfryer3902 yeah I’d say so, it’s a cute little movie. Good one to watch if you’re bored
Phonebooth and Runaway Jury are two of the best thrillers I've ever seen.
Stranger than fiction, Frequency, Dredd, Predestination, Gattaca, Moon and Locke.
Yes! Frequency! And of course Gattaca. Not heard of Locke.
@@scottslotterbeck3796 it's a 2013 movie, very minimalist, on point dialogue and emotional movie. Tom Holland and Tom Hardy stars in it, before they were crazy famous
I fall asleep to Clue every night. Absolute CLASSIC movie!!! Underrated AF!!
Scott Pilgrim Vs the World is a really underrated one for me. Hilarious, well directed and beautiful visuals all in one great movie
i go back and watch it all the time. it was perfect.
And I absolutely love that movie.
Michael Cera was awesome as Scott Pilgrim.
Secret life of Walter Mitty,is my favorite movie and is probably unknown to most people
Which version? The Danny Kaye one?
So Underrated movie, it has a great message and great photography as well.
I saw that in theatres I thought it was relatable as hell
@Chad Dexter that’s like your opinion man
Gattaca is a fantastic movie!! So many lessons and so thought provoking. A movie that really shows the slippery slop we can, and have at times, go down when any prejudice becomes the forefront of society. All the movies in this list that I have seen are really good. The ones I haven't seen are going on my watch list... Thanks Mojo.
Great comment. Gattaca is always on my list of the top 10 Science Fiction films. It is thought provoking, and it is closer than you think. Excellent film. Ethan Hawke and Jude Law are excellent in the film. Not hyperbolic, not flashy, but the best kind of SF. Like Arrival in that sense.
Me too. It’s one of my top 10 films of the 90s and one of my top 10 sci fi films too. I think it is one of Jude Law’s best performances.
Mighty Joe Young (1949)
Black Christmas (1974)
Stay Tuned (1992)
Matinee (1993)
Serial Mom (1994)
Detroit Rock City (1999)
Love your list.I haven’t seen Black Christmas,Matinee or Detroit Rock City but I will. Thanks ☺️
I love detroit rock city
Just watched Black Christmas 👍🏾👍🏾
I’d say Garden State, Children of Men and Scott Pilgrim are criminally underrated
Children of men is the finest sci fi movie imo.
Atlantic City with Burt Lancaster and Susan Sarandon.
I had a big crush on Mary elizabeth winstead in that movie
So glad you included A SIMPLE PLAN, one of the greatest crime stories ever, such beautiful and simplistic acting. And such a heartbreaking ending. I would have included " THE CONVERSATION ", " SON OF RAMBOW ", and " TAKE SHELTER ".
Oh, and " 3 Women "
Beautiful Girls....definitely underrated in my book and one of my fave movies of all time.
I knew about Jennifer's Body forever, but never saw it until last year. I never thought I would love it so much, but I really do.
Christopher Nolan is one of the most respected directors in the world, and even he has some under appreciated films.
The Prestige is a masterpiece and does not get the love it deserves! Also Insomnia is arguably his most underrated.
Is Insomnia on the same level of The Dark Knight or Inception? No, it isn’t, but I don’t think that should take away from the fact that Insomnia is still a great crime thriller.
Gattaca is one of the best sci-fi's of all time. Might not be mainstream popular but amongst sci-fi fans, this beautiful movie is legendary.
Absolutely! On my top 10 SF films, along with Contact and Arrival.
@@scottslotterbeck3796 Arrival is my #1 favorite Sci-fi 🤗
@@JD1886 It is extremely well done. I want more intelligent science fiction.
@@JD1886 -holy cow that movie sucked on all level
This is a great list. I love many entries. Probably my favorite pick is Barry Lyndon, which I have seen like 7 times. It gets better every time. It's honestly one of the best movies ever made.
Good list, here's what I believe are some of the most underrated films:
01. Warrior
02. Take Shelter
03. The Prestige
04. Midnight Special
05. Prisoners
06. The Untouchables
07. The Lighthouse
08. The Adventures Of Tintin
09. Candyman(1992)
10. The Gift
Here are some thrillers, dramas, adventures and horror movies for you with the mix of De Palma, Spielberg and Nolan. Even one Joel Edgerton stared, wrote and directed.
Weatherman with Nicholas Cage could be on this list, too. But Matchstick Men is a great film.
Clue is one of my favorites. If it's on TV I watch it even though I have the DVD. The best part is when the 2 in the attic and the 2 on second floor all run into each other. We always reverse and replay. Sometimes in slow motion. All of the cast is excellent but Michael McKeon is so hilarious. Well, they all are. "I had to stop her screaming!" And how Tim Curry says " Nuo". "Nuo?" "Nuo."
So happy to see The Assassination of Jesse James on this list. It’s one of my true favorite films of all kinds. Happy I’m not alone.
And Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is absolutely perfect.
Some very solid picks here and some very notable omissions.
Edit: My pick would have to be The Conversation (1974) by Francis Ford Coppola, I don't see anyone ever talk about it.
ME TOO! Such a great film, only a few talk about it. I first saw in on TV, the old Saturday afternoon films. It starts so slow, but builds, and builds, and builds. TBH I only stuck with it at the beginning because Francis Ford Coppola was involved with it.
A must see. One of Hackman's finest.
Some films I would put on the list:
Intolerance (1916).
Mutiny on the Bounty (1935).
The Charge of The Light Brigade (1936).
The Adventures of Robin Hood (1938).
The Private Lives of Elizabeth and Essex (1939).

HAHAHA. War of the Roses is Top 25 best films ever made. And funniest. That will never leave my Top 25. It is such a dark comedy. I have seen that film so many times and die laughing every time.. Lol. Very smart, witty, dark comedy. "Benny?"
Wow !! Way to put in so much time , and completley miss the point. This is not about the best movies, it is about under rated movies. Get a clue. I see at least 10 blockbusters in your stupid list.
@@infectious420 a movie can be a “blockbuster” in its day and still not be talked about in 2022. And, besides, there isn’t one “blockbuster” (at least in the modern sense) on that entire list.
@@infectious420 also, I am only 24 years old and haven’t had the opportunity to watch the films of Tarkovsky, Goddard, Truffaut, Fellini, etc.. Nor am I in a rush to watch them (not to say I won’t, I will) because I have my whole life in front of me and I will need some movies to watch in the coming years.
Lol those are all classics, not underrated, maybe underseen by this generation but that's a different story.
The best thing about Clue is the multiple endings. When it was in the theaters you never knew which ending you were going to get.
Do top 20 most underrated animated movies of all time:
Shrek Forever After
Rise of The Guardians
Meet The Robinsons
Prince of Egypt
Sing 2
Cars
Looney Tunes Back in Action (if that counts)
The Madagascar series
another I'm pretty is underrated because when I went to watch it day 1 in theaters there was only like 10 people there to watch it and that's, Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole
Love Rise of The Guardians
Warrior (2011)
For me this a great underrated movie, if you like MMA, Tom Hardy, and Joel Edgerton and got a bit of time on your hand you will love it. Nick Nolte one scene with Tom Hardy (to me) has got to be one of the best scene I have ever seen, I have watched it a few times and each time I forget they're acting.
Its a good movie but the ending is too much of a tearjerker
The most underrated movies I ever saw were Death Proof, The Wanderers, Deep Cover, House Party, Scott Pilgrim, Juice, The Lost Boys, Higher Learning, Devil in a Blue Dress, Nowhere Boy, New Jack City, Blow, School Daze, Gang Related, Dead Man, Gridlock'd, and Charlie Bartlett.
DEATH PROOF/PLANET TERROR ARE HELLA GOOD MOVIES!!!
Everyone's seen Scott Pilgrim, but the others? Not so much.
@@scottslotterbeck3796 So, have you seen any other movies on this list?
@@rheathesecond Yes, all but two. And those are on my list!
@@scottslotterbeck3796 I guess the two are Gang Related and Gridlock'd. Tupac starred in both films, so I'm a big Tupac fan.
Sum other very underrated films, Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai, The Iron Giant, The Secret of NIHM & 1993’s Fearless with Jeff Bridges.
Fearless and the iron Giant are truly excellent.
Absolutely love Dredd, just wish other people did as well
KING ARTHUR: LEGEND OF THE SWORD
It bombed when I went to see it but it has a good soundtrack, good story line, good character development and awesome action scenes.
I wish people gave it another chance
Prisoners is one of my favourite movies of all time! Excellent stuff :-D
"... Now youse can't leave..." A Bronx Tale (1993)
This is a really good list perit I really enjoyed at least 12 of these movies they are supremely underrated.
I love Kiss Kiss Bang Bang and Robert Downey Jr. after he quit drugs. He was in perfect form and movies from 2005-2007 were awedome: Good Night And Good Luck, A Guide To Recognaizing Your Friends, A Scanner Darkly and Zodiak.
A Scanner Darkly was a disappointment to me.
DAN IN REAL LIFE IS LITERALLY MY ANSWER WHEN PEOPLE ASK FOR UNDERRATED MOVIES!!! MY JAW DROPPED!
Great list, many of my favourites on here. Nice to see After Hours at the top of the list
I really really really want a sequel to Dredd. It was such an amazing action movie and Karl Urban was such a perfect actor for the role
Yes! please
I'll probably get booed for this, but Karl Urban is way, way better than Sylvester Stallone. Karl delivers scarier Dredd.
@@lasbrujazz No Boo, I agree with you
@@lasbrujazz no I agree he’s much better fit for the role of Dredd imo. And Karl even didn’t wanna remove his helmet as that just gives Dredd a much more intimidating look;)
Dredd sould be a huge franchise but they just cant get it right, i found both film average and forgettable.
Scott Pilgrim…13th Warrior…Mousehunt…The Kingdom…Enemy At The Gates…Payback (Gibson)…
Just a few underrated movies that come to mind. Slices of movies doing exactly what they set out to do.
1. Frailty
2. Breakdown
3. Blowout
4. Prisoners
5. Bad boys (1983)
6. Hard times
7. The quick and the dead
8. Johnny handsome
9. Hard ball
10. Dark city
11. Rudderless
12. Copland
13. Nowhere to run
14. The skeleton key
15. The butterfly effect
16. A history of violence
17. At close range
18. Angel heart
19. School ties
20. In time
Prisoners is sooooooooooooo good. Actually makes me mad that none of the cast got Oscars for this movie.
This is a good list. There are some of my favorites, Dredd, Clue and Prisoners...I would have added Tucker and Dale vs Evil. A great horror comedy to check out with a different take on a cabin in the woods slasher.
So glad to see Jesse James on this list. Definitely one of my favorite movies of all time. Movie is criminally underrated

Probably Paul W.S. Anderson's best movie after Event Horizon.
no it wasn't
I think Frailty deserves to be on this list. Paxton's first directorial debut. It's brilliant. Early matthew mcconaughey in one of his first drama/thriller roles. Paxton is great as the deranged father.
Great choice!!
When Frailty came out McConaughey had already been in U571, A Time To Kill, Lone Star, Contact, Amistad, The Newton Boys some comedies and Dazed And Confused
@@whitey3624 yeah but it was before his big breakout later in his career with Dallas buyers club. He was in his romantic comedy faze and this film he's said himself helped him break out of that.

This was a surprisingly good list!
Two that I would add that I've recently seen and have stuck with me, Coherence (2013) and I Think We're Alone Now (2018).
Coherence is brilliant from beginning to end. I Think We're Alone Now gets weird and falls apart a bit at the end, but the rest of the movie is so strong that the weak ending can be overlooked.
A Simple Plan is a great movie and Billy Bob was amazing in the movie.
I saw that in a theatre back in 98 with about 10 other people scattered around. It knocked me sideways. A superb film.
@@christianzafiroglu6705 it’s a movie that really stays with mostly because of Billy Bob Thornton’s amazing performance.
15:10 Yes, 'Blowout' is seriously underrated as the film has a lot of story lines and deeply complex characters.

Don't you love to see films that make you think? Like Arrival in that sense.
Great List, Thanks(giving) 😀
Dark City doesn't get talked about enough IMHO.
A surprisingly good list. I'd add *First Reformed* (2017), written and directed by Paul Schrader and featuring Ethan Hawkes' finest performance. Critically well received on release but almost no one saw it.
I liked it a lot, but the fanciful ending was a slight disappointment. But yes, an excellent film, well worth watching. It was a pet project of Schrader's.
If you like this film, you should see 'The Apostle' with Robert Duvall, which was his pet project. That scene with the Bible and the bulldozer is...deep.
@@scottslotterbeck3796lol I didn’t care for that movie but I’m glad I got to experience it ha. Performances were great and had a lot of respect for everyone involved involved in the movie. Just one of the movies I respected but didn’t like
I agree completely with the ones I've seen, such as Life Aquatic, Assassination of Jesse James, Prisoners, Dan in Real Life, and Kiss Kiss Bang (the last 2 are 2 of my personal favorites), so I'm more than willing to watch all of the ones I haven't seen yet.
Very nice list 😀 I haven't seen most of these movies in years, and you reminded me of them. I made a folder with each one listed for review and re-watching later 😀 Also, I gave your vid a thumbs up and subscribed earlier 😀 You have a lot of really good lists :-D Thank you for the effort 😀
Yes, one of their best lists. Why? Because we've been screaming at people to watch these films, and nobody listens
@@WatchMojo Just a suggestion if I may? For lists like this, could you leave a text list of the movie and show titles in the Description? It would really help for list transferring and watching. Perhaps time stamp them also???
I'm sure we could all add many, but great selections here!!
The dredd remake was definitely underrated. I remember watching the first one and when the remake came out I was suspect like normal when it comes to remakes but I was impressed. They did awesome job with it. I wish they would have made more with the new cast.
Agree on BLOW OUT
DE PALMA is a genius director .. DRESSED TO KILL is another gem of his
I love Dressed to Kill... it's very scary and suspenseful
when Equilibrium is so underrated it doesn't even make it into the list 😥
One movie I always thought that never got the acclaim it deserved is Strange Days. Ralph Fines n Angela Bassett were awesome.
Was disappointed that it wasn't on here. This movie really, really needs more love.
A simple plan blew my mind. It a classic thriller.
Thanks for mentioning "A Simple Plan." Another Paxton/Thornton collaboration, "One False Move," merited a place on this list as well.
Yes, both really good but Simple plan being the better one.
For horror, I suggest:
Slither
Behind The Mask: The Leslie Vernon Story
Teeth
For comedy/drama:
Rocket Science
The Lobster
I LOVE GATTACA! I always have thought it was very underrated given the way our technology and genetic science has advanced. it also has an interesting statement about the way we prioritize people by physical appearance and abilities.
Me too!!! Often overlooked on list of best SF films. It's on my top 5 SF films.
Gattica is a BRILLIANT movie.
Then why did you misspell the title? All the letters are from DNA sequencing, there's no I.
The sunset limited, the gentleman, boss level, black snake moan, always outnumbered, nice guys, and the quick and the dead.A few films that I think are underrated and more people should watch
Much love for The Sunset Limited. And they did it with only 2 actors, and they didn't even have names.
Edge of Tomorrow should be on here! Overshadowed by hugely hyped movies around the same time of its release, the idea of a Groundhog Day warzone basically makes a movie feel like a video games story mode! And how Tom Cruises character develops so much in suck a short time in such a great manor is something to behold
The Duellists from Ridley Scott ..Shadow of a Vampire....Bone Tomahawk....The Killing Fields are some great underrated movies
Loved Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, seeing a healthy Val Kilmer makes my heart smile.
dope list y'all should do top 20 most overrated next ..off top of my head Four Brothers,Mar Adentro,Lord of War,Amélie and Cloud Atlas come to mind
I like Blow Out fine; one of DePalma's better films. But I still prefer the original, Blow Up, an incredible study of subjective reality mixed with a perfect time capsule of swinging Britain in the 70s. Or, alternately, yet another film based on the same premise, The Conversation. A superb study of privacy versus intrusion with Gene Hackman.
Both!!!
Great list ! seen many, more to see it seems ) Ive always felt Millers Crossing is greatly underrated, love that movie, yet no one seems to know about it
Miller's Crossing is hands-down one of the best films ever made. Thanks for recognizing that.
Here's some of my favorite underrated movies (in no particular order):
Frailty, 2001
Freaks, 1932
1408, 2007
Identity, 2003
Bruno aka The Dress Code, 2000
Brick, 2005
Pump Up the Volume, 1990
Starship Troopers, 1997
Pleasantville, 1998
Freeway, 1996
Memento, 2000
Cooley High, 1975
My Own Private Idaho, 1991
River's Edge, 1986
Shadow of the Vampire, 2000
I wanna watch Shadow of the Vampire so bad but there's no Blu Ray
Add...In the Mood for Love.
DAN IN REAL LIFE!?!?!?!!!! One of my all-time favorite movies (:
If Hamlet 2 is on this list too, I’m buying WatchMojo and giving everyone a raise effective immediately!
Extremely loud, incredibly close. Such an extraordinary and original film.
Boogie Nights. Stacked cast with the perfect blend of humor, tension and sadness.
Is "Moneyball" with Brad Pitt considered underrated? It's brilliant.
Btw: Barry Lyndon is a master piece.
Moneyball could be in this list. Mojo could make a top 50 list. Include The Conversation with Gene Hackman.
I don't think anyone underrates "Barry Lyndon". It usually appears on people's All Time Greatest lists - justifiably so, but it is not unrecognised.
🤷♀️ I don't consider it underrated since it received many acting awards including Jonah Hill's Oscar nom.
