Couple corrections from the video - I called the Super Dux their “warmest” rating, it’s actually their extreme warmth. Also, the Detroit jacket has a nice storm flap behind the zipper to keep wind from slicing through that zipper. Wish it had a split seam on the back, but no big deal. And I was WRONG about the sleeves, now that I’m wearing it, they are LONG. But I like it anyway.

The first time you clean the Detroit jacket, have it dry cleaned. After that you can wash it. Enjoy. Take care.

I love Carhartt stuff (And Barbour waxed)
Got the Bartlett, and the Detroit. (Both cotton duck, and Super Dux, along with 6 others) The Bartlett is the warmer jacket by far. But the Detroit, paired to a hoody. looks amazing, and if layered with said hoody, is nearly as warm.
In terms of styling. The Detroit is a timeless classic. The only difference between the classic and modern iteration, is in the cuff stitching, the drop tail (Which I personally prefer), and the synthetic blanket lining (Which has it's pro's and cons)
Love seeing videos on my favourite clothing. Subbed

I couldn’t agree more with everything you said. My Bartlett is warmer than my Super Dux - and according to their warmth rating system, that shouldn’t be the case. But it is, and it’s noticeable to me.
As for the Detroit, you’re absolutely 100% spot on with your comment about the hoody. I had a hoody on last night as I was heading out…caught myself in the mirror and thought…wow this thing looks pretty damn good. And I’ll tell yeah, I’ve been getting a TON of compliments on this Detroit jacket. Haven’t really received many with my Super Dux. And the Detroit is warm enough paired with a hoody for sure.

I've bought my in black colour last december. Love it! Here in Hungary it is enough for winter weather.

Nice! I’m trying to wear it here in the spring, and unless I have a sweat shirt underneath it’s not warm enough for me. Then again it’s April 5th and I’m still getting snow here in New England.

I have the black version of this model. Pretty good jacket. I prefer the older American made variant with the trucker adjust but I appreciate the functional additions to the new version. The sleeves are an issue that were definitely fixed in this revision. But unfortunately the modern canvas doesn't compete with the old American made stuff. Regardless, it's a great quality jacket and very functional.

The sleeves are a little long, I just measured them against my Bartlett and Super Dux, and they’re around 1.5 to a full 2 inches longer than both. My arms are pretty long so it doesn’t bother me. Definitely a quality jacket with some functionality built into it. Unfortunately I destroy jackets…every time I try to remember to take these things off before I go rolling around in something, I always forget or think I won’t spill something on them. Happened just yesterday in my Bartlett, I had the thing covered in salt and fluid film.

@@doublebase6509 zipper handle on my modern one broke just recently. Never had a zipper handle break on a Carhartt before this one. Obviously a easy fix but still sucks.

    • @doublebase6509

No kidding? I don’t mind it, but it’s definitely designed to be short at the waist. And it’s definitely short compared to my other Carhartt jackets. The sleeves are LONG. And I didn’t think they’d feel THAT long on me, but they are an inch or so too long, but in a way it might be a good thing when I’m reaching for things working. I like the jacket so far, but I’m getting this thing filthy very quickly (I usually buy their darker colors).
