This is probably one of my favorite quotes ever. Also Bo is an amazing artist, its so cool seeing a new wave of people reacting to his work!
I’ve seen other religious people get stuck on this line as well, including in this comments section. I think more religious people sometimes feel like this is an attack on their idea of god. Bo is atheist (though now less militant about it than when he was younger), so, while this may partly be a comment on how god is portrayed often in organized religion, it’s also not from someone trying to say something about god, because Bo’s worldview does not revolve around the idea of god. I think that, as in pretty much all of his material, Bo is trying to say something about people. I look at the last lines from a more psychological perspective, in that, if you don’t love yourself, no amount of love from anywhere else will ever be enough. This is because if you don’t love yourself, if you don’t consider yourself to be lovable, you usually won’t believe love from others is real. As always, I’ve enjoyed hearing both of your perspectives and am looking forward to your next post.
What i heard during my religious education, you can’t expect God to love you, you also have to love God….as people we do think of ourselves first instead of loving God and others first.

He was genuine, just bcs he then made a transitional ironic joke out of it doesn't mean it wasn't genuine. Jokes aren't the antithesis of being genuine
I don't think it being a joke makes it any less genuine. A lot of times when Bo gets too serious and real, he immediately follows it up by undermining himself. In that way, his speaking parts follow the exact opposite pattern of his music, which usually start joking and ends serious. I still remember him talking about Shakespeare(?), quoting this passage with such clear reverence in his tone, only to immediately be like "What? Wtf does that even mean?"

I love the line about aliens because it’s something that barely ever gets mentioned with regards to religion. If we ever find intelligent life in the universe, it’s going to raise a lot of questions about God.
...is it though? Everyone except hardcore christians is gonna be like "Oh cool, Aliens. They nice?" and said hardcore "christians" are just gonna screech "DEMONS! THE DEVIL SENT THEM! "My love is the type of thing you have to earn and once you earn it, you won't need it" is (imo) his opinion on inner peace. Once you find your objective in life and accomplished it, you don't need someone else to gratify it. His rant later in the show also is a reference to trying to find meaning. Just my 2 copper
I kinda think of it more along the lines of the way people talk about sin. See the idea is people can't get into heaven on their own because they aren't good enough. They have too much evil in them. So if you focus yourself on being a good person when you reach that point you won't need god's love to save you cause you've saved yourself.
idk, I think it's pretty easy to get a sense that there's some genuineness to what he's saying sometimes. Of course, it's anyone's bet how much, since it's also presented comedically. But even with that joke at the beginning, I do get the sense that he somewhat meant it, despite it being a setup for a joke.
@@peterlewis2178 Pretty sure Bo said anything you see on stage or content is part of the act yes even the whole inside special since he was working on a movie at the same time
@@lop90ful1 That doesn't negate what I was saying. Yes, there's an act to it. But true art always comes from a place of genuineness and personal truth. There's definitely some truth behind the vast majority of the art he makes. I fell down a Shot for Shot Reaction rabbit hole today. Really enjoying your reactions. One line I think wasn't discussed enough is "my love is the type you thing you have to earn and when you earn it you don't need it". It works along the lines of "don't rape because rape is bad, not because some god told you not to" in that if you strive to be a good person for the sake of being a good person (earning God's love) then you don't need to seek it out anymore. You have created it internally.
You might want to consider the Tim Minchin rabbit hole too. Bo says that Tim is one of his influences. As you’ve currently just done two reactions to Bo’s perspective on Religion, I’d highly recommend Tim Michin’s ‘Thank You God’ (the long 11 minute version with the orchestra). Most of Bo’s fans are also Tim Minchin fans for similar reasons
I’m a huge Bo fan and just binged all of your reaction videos! You two have a great way of talking articulating the thoughts and experiences that come with watching Bo’s content for the first time. It’s very entertaining! Who knew that I needed Bo reactions in my life?
The context you guys add with your lives and how religion changed you is so interesting. As a person who grew up Mormon, and later left the church, love the Bo Burnham stuff. Keep it up
I think the key phrasing for that end part about earning the love is “My loves the type of thing…” as in the type of love like you get from God would need earned. And if you live the kinda life where you can earn a love like that, then you would already also feel loved. You aren’t chasing that validation because you’re already living that life. It’s just another means of expressing that “put love in, get love out” kinda mentality.
I think the purpose of "my love is the type of thing you have to earn" is meant to be a comment on the moments where you shout to the heavens, "why god? Why is life so hard?" In the Bible god answers those he sees potential in. But in real life, when we ask, "why god?", we keep asking that question until we realize we learned how to triumph on our own, and didn't need a miracle after all. "The love has got to come from you", really fits with that idea. Great video yall
This channel was just recommended to me and I love these guys. Such a great perspective I feel like they have very open minds. Especially that last part
At he beginning, Bo's intro is genuine (he always is just himself), but he sets you up for the joke. He says doesn't want the audience to think he thinks he's all that and a bag of chips. Then he says "here's a song from the perspective of god".
Gentlemen. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. I feel like Bo Burnham built a glass box around his brain, and watching the two of you unpack these videos has been an honest pleasure. Left Brain/Right Brain reaction especially moved me. Thanks again.
A lot of old teachings around what food is and isn’t okay were based in how safe they were to eat a lot of them were hard to prepare, or the animals were prone to disease, and so it was potentially unsafe to eat them nowadays however the teachings are far less relevant
"nowadays however the teachings are far less relevant" I feel like there is a point to be made about this extending to all ancient religious texts. But as always people pick and choose which of the randomly collected texts amd short stories from different authors to take literally and which to stretch to fit their world view.
Loved your commentary on this! 100% support going down the Bo Burnham path, but if you feel like switching it up, a popular and perspective widening react video is "History of the entire world, I guess" by bill wurtz. 143mil view vid and its a video that really makes you think
Excellent reaction fellas, pretty sure I could see the emotion from you on the right at the end there! You both seem to get the deeper meanings from Bo's stuff, which is of course subjective, but it's really interesting to hear your discussions, much of which I've had internally with myself. Great stuff!
Thank you for your beautiful reaction. And yeah, I think a lot of us feel this way. That to being doing God’s work, you cannot be at church. You need to be out, in the world, giving your love and support to yourself and others. Talking the talk and walking the walk. 🙏 💚✌️
In the ancient translations of the original scripts there are two possible interpretations of Jesus's reponse to someone asking who god is. "God is always around you" or "God is always within us" with that second translation in the ancient context meaning more like We and God are partly one in the same being. So when Bo says "if you want love [from god//the universe] then the love has to come from you" you could interepret that both as a 'putting the same vibe that you want to receive' or literally taking translations from the scriptures to say that you must love and accept yourself and others first before you can expect external love to be received.
The intro was ironic humor. He says he doesn't want to come across as more knowledgeable or better than others yet then does a song where he somehow can tap into the thought processes of The Almighty. I'm humble yet all knowing!
Can we all take a moment to appreciate how much his voice has improved over the years? A lot of talent and hard work have gone into getting him to where he is in Inside voice wise.
He's certainly improved over time, but it's also important to recognize that the songs on Inside were recorded with a limitless number of retakes AND were still pitch-corrected to some degree, while this was done live (and likely while he was screaming internally from anxiety as we now know).
Watched two of your videos back to back on a whim and already love it. You guys have a good perspective and it's fun to watch people react to new shit that actually means something.
low key, that "de and dre" slide just for like half a second right at the beginning like with the fade out music is perfect, it always nags me when i wanna be supportive or helpful or even just leave a comment for shits and giggles for reaction duos like this, when i have no idea whos who, good on you guys for finding a simple solution
Love your reactions to Bo so far. It’s nice to see people understand what he is getting at. One thing that I do think it’s important to keep in mind as you keep going is that his earlier stuff doesn’t always have a “hidden” meaning or set up. Some of them are just funny. Like you would make when you are 18.
I’ve started a bit of a rabbit hole watching you guys, watching you watch Bo and the triple insights and reads of his content have been amazing. Love seeing different perspectives can come to the same “view” on a subject when it’s leaning in favor of wanting to see more of the good in humanity in the here and now.
Loved this. Found y'all today. Really thought it was obvious which of y'all was De and which was Dre. It's wild to see you just genuinely experiencing Bo for the first time and to see you appreciate his style. I've been following him for a long time since he put out New Math on UA-cam when he was just clowning... he's always been wicked smart, and since his first special he's grown so much and it's been interesting to watch his career I do think by this point y'all are both right he doesn't say anything that isn't real. The opening was very carefully thought out and performed, but it was chosen specifically because he feels it
Loving these videos, ya'll having some very interesting insights. For a less deep but just as impressive reaction ya'll planning on doing "I'm Bo Yo"? first song of his to go viral back in like 08, even as a kid the man was on point with that witty lyricism
I really love your reactions and how you discuss the meaning and depth behind the lyrics. You should definitely keep reacting to more Bo Burnham. I think you'd like "Lower Your Expectations" or "Pandering" both funny but also surprisingly deep and intelligent.
This was an amazing reaction, I feel like you two are one of the few that actually discuss the topics that are in the material you react to instead of just saying “omg that was funny”, keep it up! I would really recommend some of Bo’s other songs like Words words words and Nerds, they are both very good, and I think you would enjoy them
I always took the end as we need to love each other. Because it's from the perspective of god towards people in general rather than individuals. So to me he is meaning we need to love each other.
2:25 Y'all missed the joke of him saying that heartfelt and humble intro and then saying "now here's a song from the perspective of God." Love the Bo Burnham reactions tho
i’ve consumed a lot of reaction content, and i love how naturally you guys are adding to the conversation. you really get what he’s saying, and also have points of your own. cool stuff !
Great review. My theme I have been trying to march to is "Live like you just immigrated". Have a little mindseye to imagine an alternate self under those circumstances.
Him saying that he doesn't want you to think he thinks he's better than you are or knows more and then following it up by saying that this is a song from the perspective of God is supposed to be ironically funny
My favorite thing from seeing lots of reaction vids to this song over the past year is that everyone has felt it has a good message, and I've seen reactions from Christians, Muslims, Atheists, and probably others I'm unaware of. Leave it to Bo to speak FOR GOD and have literally everyone agree with him (on at least some things).
“We did some amazing things with pork, man. We did everything but eat the oink,” okay, but that’s a straight amazing line. That’s some pure word carving goodness, right there
Love your reactions guys, keep it up. I liked how you broke down what he says at the beginning of the song, I always just took it as a joke - like "I don't want people to ever think that I think I'm better than them - this song is written from the perspective of God." His timing is always just so perfect on how he delivers those lines.
Not sure if you guys are planning a larger watch of "Inside", but 'That Funny Feeling' is a must watch. Also, Bo just put out an hour of cut content from the special on UA-cam, "Five Years" and "1985" are ones you definitely gotta check out. I would recommend "The Chicken" from the outtakes as well, but it hits different after listening to the last song (Goodbye) in the original special.
You guys probably have among the most intelligent reactions out there on UA-cam. They’re all mostly superficial and/or scripted, but you guys bring soul, realness and intelligent conversation in all this. Big up.
That intro I feel is both, genuine and part of the bit. He doesn't want people to percieve him as correct all the time, or better than anyone because of his position in society(famous, or even more, just a person with a "different" view of life) but rather you just hopefully enjoy his jokes, and then hits you with the title of the song which is the "perspective of God" which is HELLA irony. I refer to (What.) as "Meta Bo", where he really reaches in his bits to reflect a deeper meaning or double meaning or what have you. basically, he is trying too hard to really nail in the fact he is kind of bleak, and cynical but also like listen to him complain because he kinda has a point? if that makes sense. This is probably one of my fav songs from this special. love yalls content! Would love to see you guys listen to some stuff from Words Words Words, that was his first TV comedy special
Just found you guys. Watched a couple Bo reactions in a row and just wanted to say I love your guys' discussions and appreciate you perspectives. Keep on keepin on
I love your talk at the end. It was really poignant and i agree with you. Thank you for sharing with us a bit of your journey in life and with religion as well. Just found y'all and subscribed now!
I’ve been a Bo Burnham girl since the beginning and I absolutely love watching people discover all of his great stuff! Some things I think would be great to check out: Art is Dead We Think We Know You- What Channel 5 News (I think was a studio only song) Lower Your Expectations- Make Happy K**l Yourself- Make Happy Are you Happy? (It follows the Kanye Rant in Make Happy)
Bo hadn’t released the outtakes when I made the comment yet, so I would definitely add 5 years to my list, and all of Inside is amazing so everyone should watch it all lol
I just wanna say I've really loved getting to see your guys' perspectives, especially on the Bo Burnham series. As much as you've been giving Bo respect where it's due for keeping it real, you guys are keeping it just as real in your responses. It doesn't go unappreciated. Additionally, I love that you're getting a taste of where Bo has been in his career, because I think it gives his newer work (like the Inside special) a lot more context and clarity. And if/when you return to Inside, I really recommend reacting to the full special (in sections of course). Much love guys. I just found you last night and I'm happily subscribed 💛
One of the best parts of watching these reaction vids as a prior Bo fan, is knowing when you're about to get hit with the Bo-existential-bombs before you do
Been really looking forward to this and it was worth the wait! IMO, I think you're just about done going through the earlier Bo stuff worth reacting to. Every special Bo created is a substantial refinement of his writing and craft, so the further back you look, the most interesting take away is how much he's improved and that it was impressive he was doing what he was doing so young. Here are my thoughts on what remains from Bo that's worth reacting to. Words Words Words - a pretty good summary of his earlier style which was often just line after line of very clever wordplay. Art is Dead - From the same special, this was to me, the first hint that there was more going on with Bo than just jokes. Country Song - low stakes and fun And then... just about all of Inside :)
New subscriber, you guy’s are really insightful and I’ve been enjoying your takes on Bo’s stuff so far. I’d love to watch you take the NF journey (if you didn’t know, it’s called that because once you start reacting and watching his music you can’t stop). Probably the deepest rapper out there, you can start almost anywhere in his deep catalogue but might as well start at the beginning with intro. (The search is my favorite song). I think it’s called the NF journey because you really see him transform from his old stuff to his newer. He’s been through a lot of trauma and puts it all out there. Not a single rapper out there has as many fire songs though.
I always saw the “I’m not gonna give you love just cuz I know that you want me to, if you want love then the love has gotta come from you” line as him saying most people kneel to god and praise him only because they know that’s their ticket to heaven, the church pushes the reward of eternal afterlife in heaven as a massive reason to love god, fear of hell and lust for heaven is why a lot of people are religious, but I think he’s saying your faith means nothing if that’s your sole or main motivation and that you need to truly find the love for god, kindness Etc in your heart
Love your Bo reactions, and this one was great! I'm an extremely religious person, and I actually quite enjoy this song, which surprises some people. Obviously I take issue with some of the theology 😄 but he has some really beautiful ideas and very clever lines that I love. Ironically, the line I have the biggest problem with theologically isn't any of the "controversial" ones. It's the same one that De was talking about, the one that says "My love's the type of thing that you have to earn," because that's actually the exact opposite of what the Bible teaches. The whole point of the Gospel is that we are incapable of earning God's love (because let's face it, we all suck), but that God doesn't expect us to. That's literally the whole point of Jesus. I know Bo is pretty agnostic, but the idea that he would think he needs to earn God's love always makes me a little sad. But Bo's line about "Maybe life on Earth could be Heaven"...yeah. He's spot on. I think way too many Christians spend their time thinking about what comes after this life, that they forget that part of the mission Jesus gave us was to build God's Kingdom here on Earth. And if Bo helps people remember that and start caring about others instead of just themselves, then I'm all for it! 😊 This one hits me in the feels every time! Can't wait for your next Bo vid. You guys seem to enjoy him as much as we do, so that's fun.
I could be absolutely wrong on this front, but I think he could've meant that you've gotta love others like ya love God. I also thought that line was a bit strange and outright incorrect until I looked at the next part: "And when you earn it, you won't need it." Especially after the context of the past verse with various people of differing religions arguing, it made me think that he meant that we've gotta try to love others to feel the love of God (which is where the "And when you "earn" it, you won't need it" comes in). But Idk I could be completely wrong, I kinda just work here lol
I hear you guys talking about the "Intro" to the song . It's part of the 'bit'.Bo goes "I don't want anyone to think that I'm better than anyone else" leading up to a song made by him from GOD'S perspective.
I've always loved the twist of the phrase about how "maybe God doesn't believe in you." It's quite an intelligent use of the double meaning.

THAT'S WHAT DEMONS LOOK LIKE!" Or maybe they think they're angels. Who knows. But i don't think it's gonna raise religious questions. (Or do you mean as in 'maybe they're the beings our ancestors called gods?')
Not really. I don’t think God having side projects would be surprising
@@catherinelynch5239 yeah, the aliens probably won't mind us little side projects🤣🤣
@@kennyfleck8630 ikr 😂 Would you look at the ego on this human species?! It boggles the mind 😹
@@catherinelynch5239 if we find a single alien species with comparable development and a less bloody history, then it goes without saying we're the failed side project.

"We Think We Know You" would be a great choice for your next Bo reaction video.
Yess! “We think we know you” is one of my favorites and it really showcases his musical talent and ability to produce great music.
Absolutely. I’d say out of all of Bo’s musical performances, that one still hits the hardest for me.
There is literally no way to tell if Bo is being genuine at any point during this comedy special lol that's part of the appeal imo
idk, I think it's pretty easy to get a sense that there's some genuineness to what he's saying sometimes.
The Kanye rant is a perfect example of the flip side of what you're saying, and how people assumed everything is just a joke and couldn't see the tones of genuine pain behind many of his jokes ("You can tell them anything if you just make it funny, make it rhyme").
Of course we can never know how much of what he presents us with is really him or true to him, and how much is an act for the sake of the art. We can only speculate. But it's clear that it's not all an act.
Ya ur right. It comes from a place of honesty and genuineness, and honed with technique
the intro was a joke...that went right over your head. I dont know everything. now here's me speaking for god.
They got it, it is not a complicated joke.
@@AlexColeAldems Bo Burnham fans will pretend his shits are also complicated deep meaning jokes that nobody else can possibly understand without rewatching 3 times while reading the lyrics.
@@zeallust8542 actually it was a super obvious joke and yet they still didn't understand and had 2 min debate over it.
@@bradbarnett4111 found the guy who can't read
@@zeallust8542 nah most of us understand that many of his jokes are simple just like bo himself does. I dont know the guy and have no idea if it was inteded to be simple, but of course bo is not perfect and will not be perfect with his jokes, but by my opinion he is a great comedy music writer
I see christians saying constantly that the only way we know that atrocity’s are immoral is because god
I find this rather upsetting lol I really appreciate you guys pushing back on those ideas. You are the representation that the church needs lol
Charity, this is by far one of the greatest compliments. I'm a fan!
De
It's just a matter of perception. Maybe the part of you that is the voice of reason can be defined as the God within you. Idk I'm agnostic
@@thoughtloop9144 Sadly, no. We aren’t talking about different names for the same thing here. There are very real world consequences to essentializing and externalizating morality in the way that abrahamic religions do.
I would even say that the ways that that external morality is weaponized is an atrocity unto itself.
@@thoughtloop9144 you haven't met these people then.
I literally had a classmate in college who publicly said, in a Critical Thinking course, they would kill anyone and everyone that God told them to if commanded.
I got in trouble with the teacher for responding that people like him were insane and what was going to lead to the end of the world.
@@De.Dre.Universe i think we could all do better if that was our reaction, like "yeah you're talking kinda down on a group i'm part of... but you're also not wrong so yeah i'll take that feedback on the chin and work for improvement."
I love every single one of your Bo reactions. Man I love this channel. What lovely, introspective guys you are.
10:20 did my man really say "pork chop, that's not pork though, is that pork?"
I’m a huge Bo fan and just binged all of your reaction videos! You two have a great way of talking articulating the thoughts and experiences that come with watching Bo’s content for the first time. It’s very entertaining! Who knew that I needed Bo reactions in my life?
This was lovely. I'm really enjoying your journey through Bo's material. ❤
The context you guys add with your lives and how religion changed you is so interesting. As a person who grew up Mormon, and later left the church, love the Bo Burnham stuff. Keep it up
I’ve never been quick to tears, but the first time I heard the way this song ends I cried like a little kid.
I think the key phrasing for that end part about earning the love is “My loves the type of thing…” as in the type of love like you get from God would need earned. And if you live the kinda life where you can earn a love like that, then you would already also feel loved. You aren’t chasing that validation because you’re already living that life. It’s just another means of expressing that “put love in, get love out” kinda mentality.
you have great reactions definitely one of the better channels on here
I think the purpose of "my love is the type of thing you have to earn" is meant to be a comment on the moments where you shout to the heavens, "why god? Why is life so hard?"
In the Bible god answers those he sees potential in.
"All that and a bag of chips," wow I've never heard that phrase
Gentlemen. I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart. I feel like Bo Burnham built a glass box around his brain, and watching the two of you unpack these videos has been an honest pleasure. Left Brain/Right Brain reaction especially moved me. Thanks again.
The grunt at 12:05 perfectly sums up my feelings about Bo. He executes his art so well it’s hard to put into words.
A lot of old teachings around what food is and isn’t okay were based in how safe they were to eat
a lot of them were hard to prepare, or the animals were prone to disease, and so it was potentially unsafe to eat them
nowadays however the teachings are far less relevant
"nowadays however the teachings are far less relevant" I feel like there is a point to be made about this extending to all ancient religious texts.
But as always people pick and choose which of the randomly collected texts amd short stories from different authors to take literally and which to stretch to fit their world view.
Loved your commentary on this! 100% support going down the Bo Burnham path, but if you feel like switching it up, a popular and perspective widening react video is "History of the entire world, I guess" by bill wurtz. 143mil view vid and its a video that really makes you think
'Preciate that post jmkiser33!!! We will put that in 'must watch' videos
De
That last line looked like it hit Dre like a ton of bricks. Me too, man... me too.
What are you guys talking about? Bo is the most genuine person I have ever seen - 180% authentic on stage
I imagine God's love from this perspective as "I love you so much, and I am so sick of your shit right now."
Another amazing one by Bo Burnham is "We Think We Know You"
Watched two of your videos back to back on a whim and already love it. You guys have a good perspective and it's fun to watch people react to new shit that actually means something.
You need to react to “Country Song(Pandering)” by Bo, it’s hilarious!
I like that y’all aren’t scared to talk about real shit when you watch a reaction about real shit. Subbed. Love.
My man said "Is pork chops pork???" 🤦🏽♂️ 😂
low key, that "de and dre" slide just for like half a second right at the beginning like with the fade out music is perfect, it always nags me when i wanna be supportive or helpful or even just leave a comment for shits and giggles for reaction duos like this, when i have no idea whos who, good on you guys for finding a simple solution
Watching you from France and I really like your energy guys! You’re so true and love your reactions on Bo’s songs! Great content!
The opening was very carefully thought out and performed, but it was chosen specifically because he feels it
Two beautiful, eloquent men giving a beautiful, eloquent reaction. 💜 Subscribed.
Thank you so much Hannah! Really appreciate the support, encouragement, and sub. Stay strapped in for more content!

Loving these videos, ya'll having some very interesting insights. For a less deep but just as impressive reaction ya'll planning on doing "I'm Bo Yo"? first song of his to go viral back in like 08, even as a kid the man was on point with that witty lyricism
Gary, this is another highly requested video. Stay strapped in and I'm sure we'll get to it

What a great way to reach and teach a lot of people [a message like this]. Right there with you, Dre.
I really love your reactions and how you discuss the meaning and depth behind the lyrics. You should definitely keep reacting to more Bo Burnham. I think you'd like "Lower Your Expectations" or "Pandering" both funny but also surprisingly deep and intelligent.
This has been one of my favorite reactions to Bo. Glad I found you guys! Going to watch more now
2:00 "I dont want anyone to think I'm better than people, or know better than people".. but heres a song where I tell you that I know what God thinks.
Damn, I may just be checking out yalls podcast.....love level headed realness
You haven't experienced Bo Burnham in full if you haven't had a good cry after a good laugh.
2:25 Y'all missed the joke of him saying that heartfelt and humble intro and then saying "now here's a song from the perspective of God." Love the Bo Burnham reactions tho
Wanna see Bo deviate from the formula? Well, you should react to That Funny Feeling, but prepare to feel crushed emotionally.
I LOVE the way you react to Bo!
i’ve consumed a lot of reaction content, and i love how naturally you guys are adding to the conversation. you really get what he’s saying, and also have points of your own. cool stuff !
I just love you both so much, So happy you're enjoying Bo and would absolutely love to sit and have a beer with you one day. Bo is a genius
If you want to watch Bo being more himsefl watch some of his interviews from when he was promoting "8 Grade"
i absolutely love the wholesome twist of this. instead of doing good just bc god told you to, be good bc it makes you feel good
Great review. My theme I have been trying to march to is "Live like you just immigrated". Have a little mindseye to imagine an alternate self under those circumstances.
Really interesting concept Keith. Got me thinking for sure. Thanks for the comments, sir

Love this. If you take a break from Bo Burnham you should check out "Predjudice" by Tim Minchin.
Storm is also great
“We did some amazing things with pork, man.
Intro was absolutely a joke. I don't want people to think I think I'm better than anyone, but here a song where I know what God thinks.
These are my favorite reactions of bo. Keep up the great work. If you want to have fun check out his other rap videos
Just found y'all and subscribed now!
you guys have great insight and conversation on ur vids
I cried to your back and forth in this and analyzing this song. Because you both always have a great respect for the views of others. 💙
I’ve been a Bo Burnham girl since the beginning and I absolutely love watching people discover all of his great stuff!
Some things I think would be great to check out:
Art is Dead
We Think We Know You- What
Channel 5 News (I think was a studio only song)
Lower Your Expectations- Make Happy
K**l Yourself- Make Happy
Are you Happy? (It follows the Kanye Rant in Make Happy)
I'm surprised none of the songs from Inside or Inside Outtakes made the list
Bo hadn’t released the outtakes when I made the comment yet, so I would definitely add 5 years to my list, and all of Inside is amazing so everyone should watch it all lol
Comedy from Inside. And thank you for sharing your thoughts!
I feel so represented by you guys...i just love bo, he's the master of deepness and comedy, and of course of music. It's just sick❤
Just realized how much clearer the video is! Looking great guys :)
"Maybe god does not belive in you" that's a quotable if i've ever heard one
Enjoyed yalls reaction. Dre, you're breakdown of the last lines is the same way I took it
He says that at the beginning JUST to follow up with "This is a song from the perspective of God". Its meant to be contradicting.
Love you guys! These Bo reactions are always worth the wait.
Appreciated the convo. Cheers to bo!
Country Song - low stakes and fun
And then... just about all of Inside :)
Def gonna be checking out your podcast, I was really digging what you were both saying. Really enjoyed this!
(Sorry meant that there are a few different reasons it’s called the journey lol)
I also thought that line was a bit strange and outright incorrect until I looked at the next part: "And when you earn it, you won't need it."
Especially after the context of the past verse with various people of differing religions arguing, it made me think that he meant that we've gotta try to love others to feel the love of God (which is where the "And when you "earn" it, you won't need it" comes in).
But Idk I could be completely wrong, I kinda just work here lol
"Pork chop...that's not pork though... is that pork?"
NAAAHHH 😂😂
I hear you guys talking about the "Intro" to the song . It's part of the 'bit'.Bo goes "I don't want anyone to think that I'm better than anyone else" leading up to a song made by him from GOD'S perspective.
