Yeah, a material list on your builds would be absolutely wonderful. Just link it to each of your projects. Love watching your videos, my wife even likes setting and watching them with me. Keep up the great work.
You always say something like “at this point nobody is watching the video” and I would like to say here I am. I like the music, I like the antics, and I also call myself an idiot frequently while I’m alone. Love the channel, love your projects.
Great job. Thanks for taking your time to put these videos together. I mainly work by myself. You always figure out a way. Keep up the great work and enjoy your Sunday.
It’s great to see you back. My architect told he that he is supposed to get my plans back form the engineer this next week. One step closer to getting my 25x30 shop started. If it hadn’t been for me finding your channel, I would have been hiring this work out, but I am going to do it now, thanks a ton for all you show.
I have the concrete floor (27.8 ft by 14.7 ft) with a brick wall (6.9 ft descending to 2.3 ft) just finished at my vacation home in France. I will be starting next spring or summer vacation with the wood etc. The framing method is not very common over here in Europe, so I’m watching a lot of UA-cam to learn how to layout the roofing and sidings. Pdf’s are welcome, but for now I’m enjoying your builds. Greets from Holland.
Nice job on the garage and video. Thanks for taking the time to do the video. I retired last year and bought a 100 year old house that needs a total remodel. I'd much rather be doing new construction. Keep up the good work!
Mannnnn lol… thank you for these … your boosting my confidence on a garage build .. it’s something I want under my belt . I’m saving this to rewatch multiple times in the meantime . The header fall was scary! The thumbnail time was funny ! Happy anniversary! Good job man .. always killlling it 🤟🏽🤟🏽👊🏽
Have you thought about building a jig to fit on your step ladder to set the Osb on when doing the roof? That way you wouldn’t have to carry it up the ladder.
@@MyDIYAdventures Thank you Sir. I am one one of those idiots that posts his comment twice. Always learn a lot from your videos. Look forward to the next one
You have some nads lifting that header by yourself. Not just the lifting, but being alone if something happened. At the same time, i understand you gotta do what you gotta do and my wife says the same thing about all the things i do by myself at work.
I noticed you checking the crown on the 2x4s for the walls. I know you want the facing the same direction, but do you have the crown facing outside of the garage or to the inside.
Great build, interesting to watch you, you definitely know what you're doing. Side note.....the hwy noise at that location is horrendous, I could never live there, I suppose the owners there just get used to it
Don't do it for our entertainment really. We're good. Use the jacks! That's what they're for please. Hopefully you get lucky on your anniversary and you feel good enough to take advantage of it. Keep picking up stuff like that and you're not going to have the ability to take advantage of things anymore. I realize it's getting close to Halloween when I'm watching this, but being Superman can only happen in a costume. Remember that. I've noticed that's an awful busy road running into the middle of nowhere 😂 I wouldn't have thought that many people were going nowhere. I guess that's what happens when you're retired. You don't think anymore. Keep up the good work. I'm on my fourth year of permanent vacation at the age of 62 you'll get there.
That’s the 4th longest highway in America! And it running THROUGH the middle of nowhere…it’s not a major destination 😂 And I am trying to slow down on the big builds, gotta leave something in the tank for the years to come👍
@MyDIYAdventures how do you measure for the gable supports . It looks like you only take one measurement and then add X to that number to get the angle.
Have been watching your videos for awhile. How come you don't also do the roofing and other types of work and earn extra money? Seems you could also finish up the roof shingle work the same day you get the building framed
Grab the saw here!

Yes !!!!! The list and drawings would be awesome
I’ll try to work on it, but I’m not terribly tech savvy…

So your wife watches, but mine doesn’t LOL…I hope to have material lists available in the next few months.

Love the channel, love your projects.
Thanks for sticking with me! It's nice to know someone is watching. 😂
I didn’t see a picture of the Dawg . And I was still here after an hour. I did see pinky at work
Audio was fine, music was great and I watched from beginning to end......I need to get a life! Great job!

Just take your time and grab some help if you can and you’ll do great!
@@MyDIYAdventures I am going to try....LOL... It is going to be the new home for Bridgewater Restoration. I hate working in my garage.

Yeah, we frame things quick and dirty here in the states, definitely different than Europe!
It's all good. Start to finish...great job
Thank you!
Shot you should do plans that would be great. I'm looking to build a 26w by 24ft deep.
I’m going to look into it, although I’m not very patient when it comes to computer stuff.

100 year old remodels can turn into a can of worms quickly! Good luck!

Great video you’re not a Hollywood filmmaker! I enjoy everyone you do

Hells yeah!!! Bout time you got back from Bali...
😂
Hey Sailor! Great sound track! O and nice job on the build video😃
Wow! No one ever likes the music!
I watched the whole thing!
Very well done with the garage and video.
👏👏👏👏👏
Awesome, thank you!
Happy Anniversary!
Thank you!
@@MyDIYAdventures You’re welcome! I hope you’ll had a great dinner date!
It was! Went to grab a steak at an old restaurant that used to be a mob hangout…very cool!
Nice job !! Happy Anniversary !!
Thanks! Too bad she’ll never see the video😂
Have you thought about building a jig to fit on your step ladder to set the Osb on when doing the roof? That way you wouldn’t have to carry it up the ladder.
I have built platforms to stage the OSB on before, but on small garages like this one, it just seems quicker to carry it up.
I watched the whole Video... Good to see you back, Its been a while :)
It’s been way too long, I got busy and just put UA-cam on the back burner unfortunately.
UR videos are all good
Thank you!
59:45 I thought you were going to jump.
Too old for a stunt like that!
Where are you located, and how far would you go out to construct a two car garage?
I'm in Wisconsin.
Thanks!
That’s a little too far!
New video ! Perfect timing. I am building my garage in GA.. So is it 12' ridge and 8" rafters? 6" joists. Thanks ,Greg
Great! Perfect timing. Thanks to you I am getting ready to build my garage in GA. So is it 12" ridge, 8" rafters and 6' joists? Thanks, Greg
2x8 ridge, 2x6 rafters and joists on this build.

Yeah, I quickly regretted not putting that thing up in 2 pieces…but they usually aren’t that heavy!
Yeah that was a big'un@@MyDIYAdventures
I noticed you checking the crown on the 2x4s for the walls. I know you want the facing the same direction, but do you have the crown facing outside of the garage or to the inside.
Out, that makes the studs less wobbly when they’re laying on the ground. I also check to see how bad they are, and toss the really bad ones aside.
Coulda tacked a piece of osb on that header- to act as an air foil! Add a rope and you can kite it up there?!
Work smarter not harder! LOL
Just for our amusement….how much do you think the header weighs?
That thing had to be well over 100 lbs…or I’m just getting old and weak!
Great build, interesting to watch you, you definitely know what you're doing. Side note.....the hwy noise at that location is horrendous, I could never live there, I suppose the owners there just get used to it
Just wind and vehicle noise out there in the beans! I suppose you do just get used to it after a while.
@MyDIYAdventures do you have any 30x30 shops that you have done?
Built some bigger ones like that years ago when I had a crew, but nothing on video unfortunately.
Hello from Ireland! Quick question, I'm pricing up your material list. The 3rd item, 2x4xpc, what is that? You got 91 of them
A pre-cut stud, 92 5/8 inches long. I have no idea what the metric equivalent would be though…
Sláinte!🍻
Whats happening brother, about what do a concrete slab for a garage cost 24×30

I lay out the top plate and then measure from the plate to the rafter at the long point of the stud.
@@MyDIYAdventures Okay that makes sense. To get the low side do you use your square and the pitch that you set for your roof?
I cut them at a bevel, I set the saw to whichever degree matches the roof pitch.

Hi do you travel or stay local for work? Thank you
Stay local
Next time, bring a couple pulleys and rope.
Not the snake.
Love your videos, I'm a non-builder.. but wish I knew 40% of what you know. Try just doing voice-over so the noise won't be a problem..
I have another garage video coming up that will be a voiceover, so that should give me some good practice!

I used to do the shingles also, but I’m getting too old to be carrying bundles up anymore!
