    For the dauber handles I just bought some cheap wooden drawer handles off eBay and glued a peice of velcro on each. That way I can have a handle for each colour which is shorter than the dauber handles, are easier to store and they stand up better in an old meatball packaging tray.

      Oh, I love the bead holder idea. I also Velcro’d them the bottom of the ink pad and hate it. Also, it gets ink on things. Also like the swatch idea. This is such a great idea! I can't stand velcro, so I was looking for a different way to store my huge collection of Distress Inks and Distress Oxide Inks sponges! I've seen tons of videos about this, but you're the only one who suggested this idea of the beads storage and not using velcro on the back of the pad (I tried it and I hated it). So big thanks, I will order and give it a try!

    Thank you for sharing this storage too. I never thought to store them in bead storage cases. It’s a great idea! I love distress oxides. Gwen, I am reading this after I pulled my modest selections of distress oxides to make cards with stencils. I store my oxides the same way you do but I love your storage solution for the little foam pads. I have started buying brushes for inks, which I really love. I use one for each color family but could use a few more. The brushes clean really well by rubbing on a microfibre cloth or on a piece of paper so you certainly don’t need one for every cokor. I like the oxides better than the regular distress as they stamp very well. Jeannine

    • @CreatedByGwen
      @CreatedByGwen  Рік тому +1

      Thanks so much for your ideas Jeannine and letting me know what you have done with the brushes. Great to know they clean up easily, I hadn't thought of a microfibre cloth actually. I think for the amount I use my ink pads I'll stick with the warm/cool options. I feel like that would work for me. I did also just rinse my Couture creations brush out with plain water and that seems to be ok, I wasn't sure I am supposed to do that, but I just used 'evergreen bough' for a Christmas project and it was a bit dark and wanted to clean that up. So far that seems ok, no visible harm to the brush, only down side to that is having to wait a full 24 hours before using it again to make sure it is completely dry. A lot of card makers love these inks and I can see why. They are my fav for sure.

Shame the edges are not rounded, but you could do that with a corner punch like this one: amzn.to/46h845s My favourite round punch is this one: amzn.to/48EJbCa I have this exact one, it's so so good because you squeeze it rather than push it, so much easier on the hands. Hi Gwen! I forgot to mention that I don’t have very many distress ink pads and I keep a pad for light & dark values for blue and purple especially - that is why it works for now - if I were to get more I would look into a more specific system such as yours. Thank you for your clever videos! Just found you and love your content 😊

      Ahhh yes, ok that makes sense... I understand now. It's a great way for those who don't have heaps of course, keeping it simple, I love that! So glad you are enjoying my videos, that's super kind of you to say! 🌸@@diannat3209

    I just attached them to the underside of the ink container with a little piece of velcro.

      Hey lovely... I used to do this but I must have been doing it wrong because they just would not stack when I did it 😞 This works better for me. Thanks for popping by the channel today and sharing your thoughts, I love it when we can share ideas! 💗

    What was the little black cover you put over the distress ink brushes?

      Hi there 🌸 The covers actually came with the brushes I bought, they weren't a separate thing. I bought my brushes individually. I have noticed though that not every brush or set has them. I noticed that the set of this exact brand on Amazon (amzn.to/3BYLrVz) are the right ones but the set doesn't seem to include a cover. Not sure why, seems the covers are only on individual brushes and those I can only find in Australia.

    For long term storage of ink pad you should store them upside down.

      I wasn't sure about this, thank you for letting me know... they definitely aren't used enough, so storing upside down makes sense. Thanks for popping by the channel today and taking the time to share this with us. 🌸

      @@CreatedByGwen Yes, Stampin Up designed a ink pad that the lid opens then you twist the lid around to expose the pad, then flip it around to store so the ink pad is upside down. It just keeps the ink fresh on the surface.

    That’s exactly how I keep them, except I cut a circle for each color and glue it to the containers, besides writing the names.

      Hey Sierra, I have links to the storage items I've used in the description below. The clear plastic containers are a GAME CHANGER for me. I've also added links for the clear pouch for handles and other accessories. Hope this helps. xo
