Roman G Yeah i timed it around there too i thought i was crazy lol, what i have here is the RR-Racing tune, no secondary cats and no mufflers, sounds amazing and totally changed the driving experience, but man i love this thing, very reliable and fun to drive afters all the mods ive put and hasnt given me any headaches in 3 years of owning it, i hit the limiter several times a week so you can imagine. The only things ive had to change was the water pump about 20k miles ago, and the pcv valve ($10) since mine used to burn a little oil but after i changed it out it seemed to go away, i still keep an eye on it i dont mind. Other than that, no issues at all. If you get one just make sure it has had all the recalls done to it.
lil wayne it definitely works man, the car makes more power after the 6600 limiter, toyota probably limited it to that for reliability reasons, but when you shift it at 7200 it lands in the peak power band so you definitely feel the difference. My mpg is good too
No issues other than potential carbon build up. Just make sure you get the Intake if you want to see any decent power gain, and make sure 93 octane is accessible
also, don't expect too much. The real gain with the tune comes from the extra 600rpm of peak power and removed speed limiter.. not from a power increase.
I studied the car's shifting behavior on your shifting into 3rd. The car shifts automatically at 7200 rpm thinking that is the max rpm before the limiter to prevent from bouncing off. That is pretty cool. I know that 7200 rpm operation is only available in Sport Shift mode. Do you get any power gain in Normal (D) mode as well? such as increase in torque and hp upto 6500 rpm?
IneedMoney Well basically in S mode if i have it in 2 and time the upshift to 3 too late, it'll smack the rev limiter for a few, notice how i press the upshift paddle when the car is at about 6900, so with the delay it made the car shift at 7200, it takes a bit of practice to take advantage of the extra rpms without hitting the limiter, especially in first gear. But yeah i can say even in regular 6500 rpm the car pulls more.
So if you shift the paddle to 3 say at 6600 rpm the car will not shift at 7200 rpm? it will be less than that? And thank you for the power gain info in D mode.

@Anton Zuykov gas weighs approximately 6lbs a gallon. At approximately 8 gallons more, that's not even 50 lbs. That would NOT have made that big of a difference.
@@cliffm5559 6.6lbs, and 50lbs actually makes quite a difference. 1. 50lbs reduction in an 2IS350 is equivalent to a ~3.5whp & 4.5lb-ft torque gain in a stock weight IS350 2. Slosh Dynamics... gas moves back and forth in the tank which requires extra work, especially at weights as high as 50lbs. that's 100lbs+ weight reduction by running close to empty, which is the equivalent to an extra ~7whp in these cars. Also improve slosh dynamics. Both of those help a lot for 0-60 pulls. His fuel pump will be fine.

Felix Hernandez and it's not just the Rev limiter, there are power gains all across the rpms, which is a great thing.

I had a bit of drone when i took out the mufflers, but when i replaced the resonator and removed the cats the drone went away but the car got louder
