I was going to make a joke about the hypocrisy of Maya teaching about animal reproduction and something about Connor being an animal in some way that would sound too inappropriate so I decided to explain it instead lmao
World's most inbred: The animals who have survived severe bottlenecks (like cheetahs) and the animals who do incest on a regular basis (like fig wasps)
Pretty sure Maya has already explained that wasps(as well as bees, ants, and some other insects) are haplodiploid. Which means that they do not have consequences for "inbreeding". I can't remember if she brought that up on here though(she's explained it many times, other places). If she has; I feel like an episode on inbreeding would be better spent focusing animals like cheetahs(for the reason you mentioned) and specfic cases where a local population of an animal inbred a lot or was inbred by humans. But that just what my thoughts are.
World's Nerdiest /World's Best Chemists - Animals that use cool chemical reactions to create explosion, lights or sounds or do any other things like the Bombardier Beetle, Angler fish or Firefly.
The creature the indigenous people told you about is Curupira! He isn't a monster exactly, but a spirit of the forest who protects the fauna and flora from those who hunt or hurt the forest life in any way. His hair is bright red and he can set it ablaze on command, too!
🦒 World's Most Famous! (Animals that became famous for something they did in their lifetime) Could be specifically naming individual animals or a species as a whole. Requesting this episode concept- animals that seem alien. I hope it's not harmful to any of their images, just very interesting to learn about! Like the barrel-eye fish, muntjac deer, and the trapdoor spider.
they've already talked about the trapdoor spider (ep 13, world's stealthiest) but i'd love an episode that talks about the barreleye, it's my favourite fish and i want more people to know about how cool they are
World's best artists! The most incredible animal-made art pieces. You've already had some great contenders for this category, like weaver ants and bower-birds. I'm imagining complex bird nests and a type of pufferfish that creates incredible art on the ocean floor to attract a mate.
World's wildest plants or world's plantiest. Just an entire episode about plants and the insane functions they have. Like memory, mimicry, how acacia trees manipulate ants and such, would be really fun
I can no longer find the source so don't quote me on this but I once heard that mothman sightings started after a snowy owl escaped a local zoo in West Virginia. Also the first sighting was 100% just a bunch of teens high off their asses. That being said he's still my favorite cryptid.
since this is the spookiest episode i just wanted to let you guys know that yesterday, a roach flew into me, and I captured and released it. the bug propaganda in this podcast is real, and no one is immune to it! also, could you guys do an episode on the world's vermin? like, talk about the animals we humans consider vermin and give other perspectives on them.
One of my favorite cryptids is the Questing Beast from Arthurian legend. The head and neck of a snake, the body of a leopard, the haunch of a lion and the feet of a hart.
The monster that Maya talk about in the Amazon it's not a monster, it's a boy/kid call Curupira, he protects the forest from hunters, his feet's are backwards to confuse them.
There was a National Geographic documentary that refuted the 1967 film by showing a guy, Bob Hieronymous, that admitted to be in the costume. Apparently he has always had that walk with his hands backwards all his life
Worlds most overlooked? I've been into insect macro photography in the past few months and an found myself admiring simple insects like rolly polly's, earwigs, and millipedes.
Yes a another episode and here is some ideas and loved the costumes and this one felt very unique and different of obvious reasons World's Longest - Current or now extinct longer animals World's Sporty - Animals who have a history or actively play sports or games in the wild World's Heavy Eaters - Animals who can eat large amounts of food during one day World's Best Voice (Singers) - Animals with who actually sing for different reasons World's Best Climbers - Animals who extreme levels of climbing abilities World’s Worse Hunters - Animals who have strange, weird and bad hunting techniques World’s Best Dancers - Animals who actually dance for many reasons plus it’s fun World’s Deepest Sleepers - Animals who can sleep for extreme lengths and even staying sleep during loud noise World’s Underdogs - Animals who survive against all odds or live tough environments and just being underdogs
Me and two witnesses all saw at dusk a like 7 foot tall cat man with only the dark silhouette of massive two ears long body and two glowing yellow eyes not reflective literally glowing yellow. We all still remember to this day I can picture exactly what I saw since I had a good look for a minute and a half before I ran in fear because I was in a field and it was at the tree line watching the three of us.
There's other accounts of yeti too. in the award winning non fiction book A long walk home, which details escape from Soviet russia detention camps, there are first-hand accounts of seeing yetis
38:38 yes, the curupira! he's not really a monster, he's an entity that protects the forests from hunters (lets fucking goooo) but yes, his feet are backwards and he can make a loud noise, like a whistle, that is enough to drive people into madness. kinda scary but he's not seen as something to be scared of (hunters should be scared tho)
Happy Halloween! I wanted to share a story that my father told me about a Bigfoot encounter he had with his friend. When my dad was a teenager, he lived in a house next to a state park and so did his friend. They would go back and forth between those houses by walking on the road right behind the state park. They would do this every weekend. One night in particular they were heading to my father’s friends place. It was around midnight and pitch black outside with a new moon. As they were halfway to the house they smelled something putrid. He said it smelled like skunk, b.o., and rotten meat. They heard a twig snap on the side of the road, and heard a “roar”. They flashed their flashlights to the noise but the creature was running behind them with a huge stride. (They could hear how big it was because of the feet hitting the pavement) They ran so fast to the house and his friend pissed his pants. I don’t believe in “Bigfoot” but the way my dad tells the story, it makes me second guess for sure.
It was pretty interesting to learn the animals that could've potentially contributed to different beliefs people have about cryptids! suspicious crotch aside, loved the research that Connor did
Audio listeners will never know about the blur
first ever censored cloaca
One hole to do it all.
I can't stop starring at the pixels
Animal podcast blurring out a hog, what a disgrace...
LOL
LMAO
I was going to make a joke about the hypocrisy of Maya teaching about animal reproduction and something about Connor being an animal in some way that would sound too inappropriate so I decided to explain it instead lmao
😂
the censoring makes it worse lol
At least it’s good engagement lol
Is there something about wearing an eagle costume that makes Connor... excited?
Is there a Patreon to get the unblurred version?
I was like “the fact it has to be censored…good for Kayla!” 😂
@@bg3007bro what? He literally said it was a small costume.
Connor is harboring a cryptid
HELP
connor has mothman in his lap thats why its censored

@Cole_McGill I think she did on her channel, but not on World's Wildest
that censor is worrying
the censor is the true cryptid
Also audio listener here, it was wild unlocking my phone and seeing the censor 😭
this better become a yearly tradition

Best episode so far! So funny: ''If these many people can believe in all these things then you can believe in yourself.'' 😂😂😂😂

I approve of this idea

I was NOT ready for the Mr Tumnus photo😂😂😂😂
I didn't even notice the censor until I looked at the comments. Some of y'all have me cackling
the blur makes it worse somehow
All of the comments about the censoring has me in tears💀
Censoring stopping Connor exposing his own big foot to the world.
WHY DOES THE CENSORED AREA HAVE ITS OWN GRAVITY

I like to imagine that Connor's full hog just out of the costume and maya is pretending it's not happening
Reading the comments about censoring before watching had me confused. Now I understand and I wish I could take back what I know and *not* seen
So, can we see Connors package on the patreon?

the fact this was posted is HILARIOUS i am crying at the comments
World’s best dancers! Why some animals dance and the different reasons they do it!
Fun!
I wonder how many animals there are that dance for other reasons than to impress a mate. I only know of bees that dance for communication.
