Dotted humming frog living with Tarantulas, American badger working Coyote, Octopus working with Grouper and Moray eel, Pistol shrimp living with Goby.
World's most roundabout: animals who have evolved the most roundabout way to solve problems (like the wood frog evolving to cease living then come back to life rather than learning to dig)
World’s Yappiest! An episode about unique communication in wildlife like how fungi can communicate with different species, how bees do their lil dance, or even how dogs bow before starting to play together!
I’m glad they picked my idea, very cool! I feel like I just assigned Maya and Connor a research project and this was their presentation. I’m glad the idea was good enough, I wasn’t sure if it would be too similar too World’s Deepest.
i don’t understand why this podcast isn’t gaining more popularity, it’s such an interesting and unique concept. both of you are very entertaining and the research is very cool and impressive! ❤
10:53 Connor is just like me for real. Ever since I learned about how old they can get, where they live, how slow they are, and what they look like. I love them so much
World's Freakiest?!? Animals that have wild or interesting mating rituals(?) LMAO idk the word but this would be so fun! tbh I love when maya teaches us about animal mating facts
12 - 20.000 hz is pretty wild. First off, it's very wide, but, secondly, it's creepily similar to our human range of 20 - 20.000 hz, but that's at maximum hearing without any hearing loss, which mostly occurs in the high range. Most mammals and birds have smaller ranges and very few go that low. I can only really think of elephants.
In the cave systems in Yucatan, I've seen blind clown fish and blind catfish. The catfish was in fresh water, the clownfish in salt water. The deeper the caves the fresh water's heavier than salt water so it's a common division of salt and fresh. The fish have white in their eye sockets.
Idea: use a random word generator for the modifier for the next episode (or generate 5 modifiers and community poll us on which one will be for the next episode)
Hi, I love these podcasts and have learned so much from them. An idea for a future podcast would be worlds highest, the animals that live at extreme heights.
I really hope this podcast gets picked up more because I find it to be the perfect educational tool. The discussions & back and forth, but not an onslaught of information that’s hard to digest. The way yall highlight these lil guys are incredible, a lot of them I never heard of before 😅😅 Yall are iconic ✨
How about the world's most overcompensating? Like how an adult dragonfly is basically an apex predator that only lives for a couple of weeks out of the water. Or how octopusses are some of the smartest animals who mate once and then just quit existing.
34:02 The Olm (Proteus anguinus) is one species with two recognise subspecies, the subspecies being mentioned is the White olm (Proteus anguinus anguinus), no pigment, regressed eyes, lives deep in the cave system. Then there's the Black olm (Proteus anguinus parkelj), pigmented, near normal eyes, more to the cave mouth.
27:42 Technically based on newer taxonomy Bees, Wasps, Ants, could be classified as venomous crustaceans. Yes, Remipedes are more related to Shrimps than they are to Centipedes, but Remipedes are more related to Insects than they are to Shrimps.
not sure what the title would be, but i’d love an ep on animals that have uniquely evolved/adapted specifically to deal with what humans have done to the planet (architecture/environment damage/etc.)
Some new ideas World's Unexpected Faster World's Longest World's Funniest World's Sporty World's Heavy Eaters World's Best Voice (Singers) World's Best Climbers World’s Worse Hunters World’s Best Dancers World’s Deepest Sleepers World’s Unlikely Best Pets
Idk what it would be titled but I think an episode about animals that reverse gender roles could be cool like how sea horse males give birth to babies instead of the females
Since fall is almost here, maybe some spooky suggestions would be cool? Maybe worlds most mysterious, worlds scariest looking, or maybe one on animals that got turned into cryptid’s because society at the time didn’t understand what they were.
I always forget that just because Maya and Connor are animal lovers and have degrees, that doesn’t mean they know everything 😅. I knew about lateral lines and I was kinda shocked when I found out they didn't. It just seemed like a thing they would know I guess. But hey, I feel super smart when I already know things they talk about 😂.
420 friendly animals XD I'm pretty sure it's just a myth, but I heard somewhere that koalas get high off eucalyptus leaves. I wonder what if any animals actually seek out naturally occurring drugs in the wild tho?
Suggestion: Worlds Most Mobile! You could talk about less known migrations patterns, animals that are very diverse in what habitat they fill, or just an animal that moves cool! Might be too vague, but it would be a good topic to highlight some animals that aren’t the fastest or strongest
Worlds Oldest - animals with the seemingly least evolutionary change across many years! Could be very interesting seeing some of the basically prehistoric animals that inhabit the world!!
13:20 The shark species you're thinking of is the Basking shark, the second largest living shark and a filter feeder. Personally sharks having eyelids is technically kinda true but a stretch, they are known as the third eyelid or inner eyelid, but the more common word is the nictitating membrane, to say sharks have a eyelid is like saying Birds have three eyelids, (two external and the nictitating membrane) we don't say that birds have three eyelids, so why refer to the nictitating membrane as eyelids in sharks, also not all species have a nictitating membrane. Great white sharks can also roll there eyes back to protect there eyes.
38:11 So, 12 - 20,000 Hz is pretty unremarkable, because the classically stated hearing range for humans is 20 - 20,000 Hz, and we can feel pressure waves 20 Hz and below? So the way to explain 12 - 20,000 Hz is basically "just like a normal human pretty much".
World's Largest and smallest to it's species.(multiple episodes) for bugs, spiders, mamals, marine animals, birds, cenzoic era animals, dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals
I misread this as World's Dankest. Anyway, trying to guess the animal the intro is about: this is a difficult one. Maybe it's the greenland shark or something, cause maybe their skeletons have those tree-circles.
I actually vacationed in Iceland not too long ago and was lucky enough to actually eat Greenland shark. Going in it’s not that bad. Kind of flavorless and rubbery chicken. But the after taste is kind of like bleach, but not bleach and lasts a couple hours.
World’s smartest: animals that have close to human intelligence or have evolved clever survival/hunting strategies. Elephants, orcas, crows, octopi, etc.
Worlds most unlikely friends: animals who have unexpected symbiotic relationships and coexist/ team up together (ex: ravens and wolves)
ooo I love this idea
Or the GOP and hating women
I love this one!
Dotted humming frog living with Tarantulas, American badger working Coyote, Octopus working with Grouper and Moray eel, Pistol shrimp living with Goby.
Goby seems like a chill person to alive the shrimps get a new shot at life in a non violent setting
World's most roundabout: animals who have evolved the most roundabout way to solve problems (like the wood frog evolving to cease living then come back to life rather than learning to dig)
i love this idea sm
World's Crankiest: animals that have no chill and are almost always pissed with everyone
Oo this please!
chihuahuas
doats
So honey badgers?
World's Sleepiest: animals that have the weirdest sleeping patterns
World’s most isolated - animals that have been geographically isolated (e.g. trapped in caves) and have evolved to fit their environments
This one would be so interesting!
World’s Yappiest! An episode about unique communication in wildlife like how fungi can communicate with different species, how bees do their lil dance, or even how dogs bow before starting to play together!
this plss
Bird song is literally twittern Pxxx bots just shouting out into the void BIRD NEST IN BIO // FREE OFFER // NO TRIAL // JOIN MY BIRDWATCHERS CLUB
I’m glad they picked my idea, very cool! I feel like I just assigned Maya and Connor a research project and this was their presentation. I’m glad the idea was good enough, I wasn’t sure if it would be too similar too World’s Deepest.
U slayed with the idea, loved this episode so much!!!
i don’t understand why this podcast isn’t gaining more popularity, it’s such an interesting and unique concept. both of you are very entertaining and the research is very cool and impressive! ❤
World’s busiest: species that take on many roles within their populations as well as their ecosystems (e.g wolves, bees, etc)
Ooh really good one
looove this one a lot
World's most dimorphic. The species with the biggest differences within the same species.
listened to this on spotify earlier but i gotta see dem photos
Double the views hell yeah
10:53 Connor is just like me for real. Ever since I learned about how old they can get, where they live, how slow they are, and what they look like. I love them so much
It's wild to me that I'm 39, I've been to one cave in my entire life, and it's the cave Connor mentions at 5:45 xD
World's Freakiest?!? Animals that have wild or interesting mating rituals(?) LMAO idk the word but this would be so fun! tbh I love when maya teaches us about animal mating facts
The Olm!!! I'm from Germany and have seen them in a cave before. It makes me so happy knowing that those specific ones i saw are probably still alive.
I saw the thumbnail and instantly screamed “GREENLAND SHARK!!”
In the cave systems in Yucatan, I've seen blind clown fish and blind catfish. The catfish was in fresh water, the clownfish in salt water. The deeper the caves the fresh water's heavier than salt water so it's a common division of salt and fresh. The fish have white in their eye sockets.
Worlds most inspirational - coolest animals that hoomans have learned from
World's Stickiest
idea worlds hungriest, worlds clumsiest(how is this surviving)
Pandas would win for sure lmao
I read that as "World's Dankest."😂
Idea: use a random word generator for the modifier for the next episode (or generate 5 modifiers and community poll us on which one will be for the next episode)
Ooh, that would be awesome!
12 to 20kHz isn't crazy. Humans can hear 20 to 20kHz. So, it's basically human hearing, so there ya go 🎉
13:38 I think I know what video maya ia referencing, I am pretty sure it is a basking shark
Hi, I love these podcasts and have learned so much from them. An idea for a future podcast would be worlds highest, the animals that live at extreme heights.
worlds WOWest (animals with the best deimatic displays or best cosmetic features) so basically worlds prettiest tehe
Worlds most poisonous could be a good idea. Definitely dont eat anything in that episode
Crazy to think that some Greenland sharks out there were likely alive when dodos were still around.
Worlds Most Unexpected: any animal or insect that is cute but does something you would never even think about, or eats, mates, etc. a unexpected way.
Most invasive - have one on plants and one on animals
I just want a whole episode on convergent evolution 😌
27:42 Technically based on newer taxonomy Bees, Wasps, Ants, could be classified as venomous crustaceans. Yes, Remipedes are more related to Shrimps than they are to Centipedes, but Remipedes are more related to Insects than they are to Shrimps.
not sure what the title would be, but i’d love an ep on animals that have uniquely evolved/adapted specifically to deal with what humans have done to the planet (architecture/environment damage/etc.)
4:20 I am surprised Connor missed calling it a ‘Fsh’
Some new ideas
World's Unexpected Faster

World's Best Climbers
World’s Worse Hunters
World’s Best Dancers

@@qwinn4911 thanks yeah I think worse hunters could be so funny and best voice could be a very interesting research
EXACTLY what I needed and wanted today GREAT timing,
Great podcast keep, at it
Worlds most adaptable: animals that can adapt to their environment and environmental changes.
The lateral line on fish is one of the reasons tapping the glass on fish tanks hurts them!
I cannot describe the level of proud I was when I instantly knew sharks were the fish with eyelids 😭
The way maya said "fancy restaurant" made me laugh in the middle of my geometry class please ppl are looking at me help
Idk what it would be titled but I think an episode about animals that reverse gender roles could be cool like how sea horse males give birth to babies instead of the females
The whole first minute was so funny with Maya. It knowing what to say to Connor's antics 😂😂😂😂
Since fall is almost here, maybe some spooky suggestions would be cool? Maybe worlds most mysterious, worlds scariest looking, or maybe one on animals that got turned into cryptid’s because society at the time didn’t understand what they were.
World’s most migratory? Animals that travel the biggest distances periodically? Idk lmao
how some people haven't figured out "-est" has to be at the end is wild to me
I always forget that just because Maya and Connor are animal lovers and have degrees, that doesn’t mean they know everything 😅. I knew about lateral lines and I was kinda shocked when I found out they didn't. It just seemed like a thing they would know I guess. But hey, I feel super smart when I already know things they talk about 😂.
I think World's Most Adaptable would be a really interesting episode, organisms that do cool things to survive a wide variety of conditions
Oh my gosh…the tetra is a fish with no eyes…its a FSH
suggestion for an episode: World's Dankest: Animals that ger high
420 friendly animals XD
I'm pretty sure it's just a myth, but I heard somewhere that koalas get high off eucalyptus leaves.
Worlds most convergent: you can try and guess - is it a centipede? No! Crustacean!
I'm patiently waiting for the cave stream. It would turn my worldview around(slightly)!
world’s fastest: species that are unexpectedly fast at running, flying, swimming, etc. like the australian tiger beetle
world's most ✨ unproblematic ✨ beings that are peaceful and don't really disturb animals/ecosystems
Okay but Inner Space Caverns is really cool and that would be a great episode
Let’s hope Connor makes that happen 🙏
I love watching my favorite black cat and golden retriever podcast
World's scariest for Halloween: animals whom you should really be afraid of
Worlds most superhuman - animals with superhuman like abilities
I'd love an episode about world sharpest (like the sharpest teeth or claws, or maybe wits aswell)
WORLDS MOST CHILL! The chillest more relaxed animals
capy blapy
Cave episode sounds rad, Safety Third did one of their episodes in an abandoned mine so it's doable!
Worlds Janitors: Animals that clean up after other animals/humans.
Who’s excited for tomorrow Worlds Bird sanctuary stream?
I’ve heard the Greenland shark fermented delicacy tastes like chewing a piss soaked mattress
For understanding the olm feeling 12-20k hz: human hearing is generally said to be 20-20k hz (although that range shrinks as we get older)
Worlds Oldest - animals with the seemingly least evolutionary change across many years! Could be very interesting seeing some of the basically prehistoric animals that inhabit the world!!
Awesome podcast.
Suggestion: worlds softest/worlds hardest, and also world's Maya and Conner fav animals of all time currently?
you should keep it a running gag where you say "editor, put in a clip" and then nothing happens.
13:20 The shark species you're thinking of is the Basking shark, the second largest living shark and a filter feeder.

Maya was thinking about a basking shark
Connor: How do you think they date them?
Mayo: They ask for their number and they take them to a fancy restaurant 😅
Sharks with eyelids is more like a nictitating membrane, they don't blink but its there
Natural bridge canyons in New Braunfels has a room you can rent out but I went in the spring and it was hot
World’s smartest: animals that have close to human intelligence or have evolved clever survival/hunting strategies.
