If you have to recharge, then you have a leak! You should always use a vacuum pump and hold at 30 inches of vacuum for half an hour to see for leaks, and then keep vacuum pump running for 45 minutes to evacuate all air. 1.125lbs of R134 is equal to 23.8 OZ or 2 - 12 OZ cans.
I keep bearing like air coming from something after I out it in under the hood. Like a stream of hair thst comes and goes. Is that normal or an air leak??
I have 2006 pt cruiser the compresser work but it it doesn't give me cold air we tried what you did and still don't work. do we need to change the condenser?
+pinktuplet It "could" be a defective low pressure switch. Go back to the photo at the top. See where the pipes go into a can-like device (condensor). To the right on the top there is a part with a colored top (kind of looks green in the photo) with wires. That is the low pressure switch. It is a $20 or so part that can be changed out. Sometimes when a vehicle's auto air is recharged and that does not fix the system, replacing the low pressure switch will bring the system back. It could be some other problem as well.
My 07 touring engine sputters at idle intermittently for awhile til the a/c warms up then it's hardly noticable while idling. Hasn't killed it yet tho.
We got a -86 pt cruiser , and I put in some UV Dye so I can find the leak of freon . The care started blowing hot air . But I can not find the leakage anywhere. I may not b looking in the appropriate locations. @ world mechanics, do you or ANYONE here might know how to find the leakage ?? or where to look
juncedan 100% normal As A/C compressor works a bit similar to a human lung ! It had to fill up, then COMPRESS, then release. (That's to push the refrigerant throughout the hoses and condenser core) Like a human heart with blood !
Bassfinder68 do you have any refrigerant in the system? If it was empty and you started adding some and the lever pin was on red it could be normal until the a/c compressor kicks in then the pressure should go back to normal. If it stays in the red, check you compressor if the clutch is kicking in
Problem solved! It was easy after watching this. Is it my imagination or did that solve the problem of bogging down at stoplights? Everything's cool now.
take the Can off and connect the valve see the pressure of your system keep it in the green grab a towel and let the air out till it’s in the green and fill as you go if it’s too low your simply removing extra air so u don’t over charge it
Hey I did this and my engine spudders and shakes at idle. Could that be the radiator fan needing to be replaced? Because when the car is rolling it gets to 40•
Hey, I know your comment is a month old, but just wanted to let you know I had the same issue and replacing the radiator fan worked! I have very limited car knowledge and I was able to do it myself following a UA-cam guide.
my ac keeps making a poping noise when i start it and loosing coolant it ends up staying warm had it at ac repair shop 3 times and still no fixed right
Wear fake ass gold and as much bling as one can. Pray to Putin and hope your PT Cruiser will rise again... and again.... and again. Must always wear cheap ass funky jewelry. I mean, what macho man doesn't???
I like the music. It's subtle enough.

Smart Cookie
How do you know how much you have to put into the system if there is still some gas in it?
After adding a certain amount of r134, will the A/C compressor kick in or would I have to 'jump-start' it?
Do you have to empty of discharge the old refrigerant?

Have a 2006 pt cruiser dies when you turn on the a/c otherwise runs great

I THOUGHT THE SMALL A/C LINE IS THE HIGH PRESSURE AND THE BIGER TUBE IS THE LOW PRESSURE WHERE YOU ADD THE FREON
the small is the low side and those cans will only fit on the low side anyhow.

There's no such thing as an 86 PT Cruiser.
Hey that's what I thought
I did all you said and when I was filling the system the gauge on the can kept goiing up and down. Any idea what's going on?
juncedan
100% normal

What is happening when I put the can on the valve, and it doesn't move from the Red zone?
The radiator fan must work at first to keep the A/C compressor running.
Thank You!!
What if the lever pin is on red before you start?

yours does that too? I hope this fixes mine.
How do I know if I have too much refrigerant in my system? I have a 2009 PT Cruiser.
+Lavona Tyscka is your A/C recharger the one with the gauge that tells you the pressure in the system?
yes.
How do you know if you have over filled it?
take the Can off and connect the valve see the pressure of your system keep it in the green grab a towel and let the air out till it’s in the green and fill as you go if it’s too low your simply removing extra air so u don’t over charge it
Can you do this for a pt cruiser 2007?
Yes, same for all years.
Thank you I had the exact same issue I bought what I needed and I will definitely try this

Dafus Dankus I saw that video! Gonna give it a shot. Thank god I have car buddies who can help me lift the car off the ground.
The refrigerant I have only has PSI readings. What PSI would this translate to
+James Green between 25 and 40 is okay
Psi means pressure per square inch
@@samwashburne6196 pounds per square inch
Thanks dad!
Yeah that can’t be right bc mine didn’t fit on that port but instead the bottom one.
my ac keeps making a poping noise when i start it and loosing coolant it ends up staying warm had it at ac repair shop 3 times and still no fixed right
I have the same issue with my Chrysler as well. Please keep me posted on the issue.
what if you accidently put it the other line cuz I did that
What happened?
thought the thinner pipe was always the high pressure?!
uncomnizm
Yeah, me too.
Check out other videos to compare, but this guy usually explains it well.
After verification, YES, he shows the correct LowPressure Port valve.
Don't worry about it the the valve of the can never fet in the hi pressure valve
No rentara la mano🤔
Don't trash any pt cruisers. Poor cars.
Audio sucks......can't hear a damn thing you are saying with the motor running beside you ! 👎
Couldn't watch this video with that beating music! Next time, please just talk. I'd rather hear you wisdom, not beating drums. Thanks!
