BIG thanks from a guy in Sweden :) Had no idea that i needed to go through the wheelhouse to get to the bulbs. Thanks again, and looking 4ward to more PT cruiser videos.
Thank you so much for taking the time to do this video! You saved me $15.00 and showed me I can do something that is in the realm of automotive, an area I know very very little about! I'm grateful to you!!

Thanks. this video helped alot when I took out the headlamps for the 2006 PT Cruiser. Few differences. the 2006 fender panel is all one piece versus 2 pieces for the 2005 and lower. also to remove the headlamps on the '06 you need to remove the grill which will reveal a screw thats holding the bumper, remove the screw holding the bumper to further drop the bumper out of the way!
You may need to find something to hold them in place from rotating. You might be able to do that with a flat head screw driver so that there's some pressure on it.
One quick tip from a video pro who uses hallogen light bulbs - not getting the oil or any other contamination on the glass of the bulb - will increase it's life tremendously. If you do handle the bulb use paper or wipe off your prints before installing it.
thank you guys for the help- i never would have thought there was a back entrance, however my fat hand was able to reach under without a jack--the wheels were cocked hard to the right tho...again many thanks!
thanks for the video. i have a 2005 cruiser and want to know how to change the bulbs on the front wheel arch just in front of the door hinges. do they just pull off or do i have to take the wheel arch lining off?
What do you do about the two 10mm nuts that hold the upper and lower fender together if they just spin with the bolts. I got everything apart and get to the two most important nuts to get out and I hit a brick wall. There doesn’t seem to be anyway to hold it from the top to keep the hole nut and bolt from spinning together.
I was just trying to see how much space was behind the fender liner because I'm about to purchase some led headlight bulbs. I skipped to the 4:30 mark.
Thanks so much!! I knew the access cover was there, but couldn't seem to get it off and was afraid I'd break it. Then found your vid...Had to really pry it off (passenger's side). Turned the wheel all the way to the right.
I would like to add about the flap: the 2 back catches are like slotted 3-finger flaps that just slide in and out. The front wide middle "latch of the door" is what needs to come out and snap back in last. You bend the "door" in the middle pushing up with one hand sort of trying to fold the door lengthways with "hinges" on one side and "latch" on the other, pushing up just like the curvature of the wheel well cover. It won't fold that much but you pull down with other hand on the latch part at same time 'til it comes out or snaps right back into place. It's all in that front latch.

Are you kidding me? Am I old fashioned or is that just wilfully ignorant design? I have changed head gaskets on a 80's GMC van in November in a driveway, so I am fully aware of how sometimes there aint no way around awkward under the hood. This seems like someone sat down and tried to make the simplest repair a nightmare chore under all but the best conditions. My next ride is gonna be a classic, something I can work on with the ease of a Mechano set.
You whats funny about this. A mechanic and a regular guy is doing this and having a tough time. Yet if you take the car to the ones that built the car they would have it done in no time. N laughing at the regular guy and mechanic.

There might be, or if there's an extra bracket in the way you may need to remove it.
Much easier than other videos where the poster has removed the entire bumper, and grill.
thanks for the video, man! i was freaking out until you showed the secret, removable panel.

Great work made my life simple after looking under the bonnet to change a bulb.

@TiniTinyTony You should be able to get them at your local dealership. Hope this helps you out.
Brilliant video. Very well explained and simple to follow. Thank you!
There should be an adjusting screw either on the top or the backside of the headlight.
Thank you for visiting our auto repair channel on UA-cam.
It's easier if you take the tire off, and then take it out through the access hole in the wheel well.

How do you adjust the headlights on a 2001 PT Cruiser?
I need that piece that you took off to get to the light bulbs. Do you have it? Mine seems to have broke and now its missing. 2005 PT Cruiser
Is it basically the same procedure on the driver side?
Once Again Thanks For The Help.
Thankyou for posting this. Made it very easy for me to do.
I was just trying to see how much space was behind the fender liner because I'm about to purchase some led headlight bulbs. I skipped to the 4:30 mark.
I am having problems where at 5:30 in the video, my stems are rotating when trying to remove these nuts....Any ideas?
