I have used this on my car before too. It works really well and also makes the windows appear to have been Rain-Xed. I used this on a car that had no coatings on it before or at least showed no signs of them. just spray on and rinse off. I like that it gets into all the crevices and now when I blow the car dry with a leaf blower that water that usually lingers in the crevices comes out easier. That is the water you notice when towel drying that just doesn't seem to go away. The rest of the car will be dry but get near one of those crevices and there is water suddenly.
This stuff is great. I applied this to my car 4 months ago and it is still beading like crazy. Car has seen 7500 miles since (daily driver!), is stored outside and has been blasted with a bunch of rain this summer. This really does seem like it can get that 6 month durability. I did a good wash with some dish soap to remove any old wax before applying, but did not clay or decontaminate. I hand wash ~ once a month, and I think that helps the durability as most touchless washes use strong chemicals that may degrade the sealant. I also had some very bad waterspots from some spinklers that were allowed to bake on for 10 days in 90+ degree heat, they would not wash or clay off, but were easily removed by Carpro Spotless. IMO, the sealant played a big part in not allowing the spots to etch into the clearcoat. The $60 500ml bottle should easily allow me to coat both of my cars 2-3 times a year for the next 5 years. This product gets a big thumbs up and must have from me if you enjoy washing your own car and would like to apply some great protection without spending hours (whole car is done in under 5 minutes). If you are a Pro this product makes a ton of sense in that it only costs a couple of dollars per application, is applied in a few minutes, lasts months and customers will notice how well it protects and beads water.
Pan TheOrganizer It was a UA-cam suggested channel based on my viewing of other detailing videos (forensic detailing, car craft, obsessed garage, ammo NYC, auto fetish, etc). I'm always looking for pro tips I can apply at home.
Since retirement two years ago and moving out to the country I found my car and truck covered in fine Iowa dust during harvest time. Since I'm the type if I'm going to do something I like to do it to the best of my ability. I found auto fetish on UA-cam and began to take notes on his methods. Then your website came up while I was watching his video, and it seemed like you had the exact same interests and passions as I did. I started watching and couldn't stop. Now I've started over and taking notes. Thanks again Pan.
Good stuff. I just picked up Gyeon wetcoat and love it. Gives your wheels added protection and pop as well. I will use a product like this for a daily driven car applying it every 3rd or 4th wash.
I done my dads car with this product I rinsed , snow foamed and then two bucket washed and then applied and rinsed straight off . My dad was convinced I had actually polished it with my polish machine. 11/10 product in my opinion
Love the channel! Best detailing videos on UA-cam. Pan can you make a video on cutting, polishing vs waxing (are they the same?) basically explaining when to do each and exactly how you do it, what pads to use etc. Generally you usually show basic tips, but I want a super in depth tutorial please? I never thought I'd be into detailing this much but I have watched nearly all of your videos now and bought a bunch of the products you recommended. Thanks again!!!
Hi! Thanks for your awesome comments! I appreciate them. I did a full tutorial on paint polishing, but it was in French. I will do a full one in English for sure one day! How did you discover my channel by the way?
Pan TheOrganizer I became enamored with foam cannons on instagram because I bought a new truck and didn't want swirl marks in my brand new black paint. Then started watching chemical guy tutorials, which were lacking, so I started searching UA-cam and found your channel. While I'm on here, I still have my old truck. My carpets in that are severely soiled from drink spills etc. What carpet shampoo do you recommend? Lastly, I have to admit, I don't speak French but watched a few of the same videos in English and French to see if there were any differences. Thanks for the response!
Hi Pan, very nice of your reviews! I have a coupe of questions on this. Would you say HyrdO2 is an alternative product of Reload, it looks like they are very similar with the main difference between the two is Reload you need to apply with an applicator and HydrO2 you spray on and rinse off. Which one would last longer after rain and sun also would you recommend to use either one or both in between washes? I have used Reload (wet applied), it is amazing probably for the first week (rain + sun) and I just couldn't see much water beading after two weeks. Washed the car with Reset, couldn't see if the Reload still on, thought Carpro says it would last for 2-4 months? My car has CQ Finest. Thanks
Thanks Jeffrey! Upon talking with people over at CarPro, yes Reload and HydrO2 are similar in many ways, but you got it, HydrO2 is an easier and quicker application on a wet surface. I personally prefer Reload for longevity and boosting my ceramic coating's performance, but I always apply it on a dry surface. I find it lasts much longer as it's not diluted by the water from a wet surface. They suggest topping your CQuartz coating with Reload (or HydrO2) every 2 to 3 months, but I prefer doing it every 2-3 weeks as it's quick and just keeps the paint in top condition. :)
1) This product could be used instead of wax? 2) After I had use this product if I decided wash my car a week after, can I use regular car soap or I can use a specific car soap? 3) what kind of pressure washer you recommend me? how many psi? Just I want start to buy equipment to start my own business.
Hi Felipe. 1) Yes. But don't combine both. If you use HydrO2, silica based product, you can't apply wax on top. 2) You can use any pH neutral car soap you want, as long as there's no wax in it. 3) Any pressure washer that generates 1000 to 2000 psi is perfect for washing cars. If you want to start your detailing business, I hope you watched my two part video series. Here's part 1: ua-cam.com/video/ycp4L7VIJZs/v-deo.html Part 2: ua-cam.com/video/iA-Yuf_saYc/v-deo.html
Pan TheOrganizer I searched up on UA-cam how to wash cars and your video popped up. Since I started to watch your videos to learn tricks, techniques. I would like to become a auto Detailer in a while thanks for your videos!!!!👍🏻
Hii Pan i have two questions. 1- can i use hydro foam shampoo for maintenance washing? 2- Can i use honeydew foam on ceramic coatings? Tks Mr. Detailer 😉👍
Thanks Todd! Yup once rinsed, you dry the car as usual. The routine doesn't change. It's a great way to top off an existing ceramic coating, or to add a quick layer of protection and gloss to an unprotected paint. It can be applied on all exterior surfaces.
nice review 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 just got one question which one will you recommend using carpro reload or this one on top of a cquartz uk protected paint thank you very much keep up the good work
Love all your videos, especially any that have to do with keeping things neat and clean. That includes home, shop as well as the car. Always looking forward to the next video.
Hi Pan! Can I just wash and prepare my car, polish it and use this product 2-3 times a year. Is this a good protection in general? Would I have good protection in winter (salt etc..) with normally maintaining my vehicle?
Since watching this video, I have clayed, decontaminated and cleansed my paint and applied HydrO2. I am very happy with the results and will just top up every month or two after a wash. My question is, if I decide later to upgrade to a ceramic coat, how do I remove the HydrO2 layer? Will Eraser manage this like it does for wax?
Pan, I plan on ceramic coating my car soon. Would you still use reload and the hydro2 or would you choose one? I know you use reload after initially applying the cquk. As for maintenance after the first week would you do reload and then hydro2 or pick one? Also, any thoughts on spraying this on the windows? Thanks for the videos!
+Birju Patel You apply a base layer of CQuartz. For maintenance, every 1-2 months, you apply a coat of Reload or HydrO2. One or the other, not both. It becomes pointless. How did you discover my channel?
I was looking at various videos on detailing and I randomly stumbled on your page. First video was when you ceramic coated your 435. Any ideas on how HydrO2 would be on windows? Thanks for the quick response.
So what is better: tight beading or water sheeting off? Seems like there’s a lot of surface tension using hydro2. Very tight beads all over but water isn’t sheeting off. A good fresh layer of wax will usually leave vertical surfaces dry after spraying. If this stuff can truly last 3-6 months then it’s probably worth the money
3 months in harsher weather like the winter we had here in Canada. I still prefer true ceramic coatings. HydrO2 is more aimed at someone who wants a quick way to get a bit of protection...
Pan TheOrganizer I’m in NY so the winters aren’t that much different lol. I figure nothing will last a season. Right now I’m entertaining the idea of ceramic coating my parents cars. Ran into hydro2 and figured it’s cheaper and I can do all of them for the price of 1 ceramic coat kit. I just feel alittle skeptical about the protection. From a simple spray on chemical it seems like all it’s doing is making the surface bead, not really protecting the paint from UV rays
If you want the ultimate paint protection and UV protection, then yes go with a ceramic coating. I have two coats of CQuartz UK Edition and a top coat of Gliss on my BMW and it’s still going strong a year after.
Hi Pan, I just used this product on my wheels, my question is: does iron remover take it off or damage the product? And also, how often do you apply this? I’ve done a through cleaning of my car already and have protected it well, I wonder if I need to keep applying per time. Thanks!
Pan, do you recommend this still? My wife's car is black and found this product. Between washes her car gets very dusty, and I can't seem to find much that will repel it.
Yes of course. There have been many spray and rinse products released since. Many reviews on my channel. But you can't go wrong with CarPro Hydro2. If you buy the "LITE" version, it comes pre-diluted so super easy to use. If not, the regular Hydro2 you have to dilute (I recommend 6:1 or 7:1).
So a few things... In the video when it was applied to driver's side door it was in direct sunlight, results seem fine. Secondly, if you use hard water in the sunlight won't this leave a ton of water spots? So basically you can't just spray it off and done, you must wipe to avoid water spotting. And lastly, this stuff is crazy expensive :) still a great video and great product.
I haven't used this CarPro spray, but I have used Gyeon Wet Coat. I wasn''t happy with it at all. That stuff doesn't last 2 weeks, that's how quickly it washes off. Hopefully this one is better.
Hi! To apply this product, is it necessary to clean the car with alcohol (or somerhing like this) after polishing for the anchorage? How is it done with sealants or ceramics? Thanks!!
Hi pan, i love your channel. In the comment section you stated that do not add carpro hydro2 as a topper on top of the wax or sealant. I still have some question in my mind would like to ask you for your help. 1) Can i apply car hydro2 before i put my wax or sealant on? Cause i still have ultimate wax paste. 2) Does the carpro hydro2 has a curing time? Before adding another layer ceramic coat? 3) I am planning to try 75 anniversary turtle wax ceramic + graphene can i use carpro hydro2 as a topper? Thanks
I bought the Hydro 2 lite for around 25.00 from Autogeek.com.. 2 words.....BUY IT !!!! Think of it as Rain-X for ur entire car. I use to hand wash once a week, now i just drive thru a touch-less auto wash, dry off excess water, tire shine & go...luv the stuff
That's great feedback! Thanks! It is a super product. As many viewers share their experience, let me know, did you buy the concentrated version like me (if yes, what dilution ratio did you use) or the Lite ready to use version? How did you discover my channel?
Great video this and also a very good comment section. I had a few questions which have all been answered allready raised by others. Also an appropriate Paaaaan length 👊
HydrO2 isn’t meant to be a super long term protection. It will lasts 1-3 months on average. It’s more used as a topper over an existing ceramic coating and it’s super quick/easy to apply, as it’s spray on, rinse off. If you are looking to machine polish your paint, I’d look into applying a long term protection afterwards, like a true ceramic coating from a glass bottle.
Question: if you JUST finished compound and polish.. you have to then wet the car again to put this on right after you finished that? Correct me if I'm wrong but I've read that you don't want to wet the car after you polish it?
When you’re done machine polishing, you buff off the polish. The paint is dry at that point. You would then use a paint prep or IPA to wipe down any polishing oils and residue, before applying your choice of paint protection: wax, sealant or ceramic coating. Now this HydrO2 product is a mild ceramic. 3 months real world durability. So yes you would wet the car, spray on, rinse off. Dry the car.
What is the best way to protect a white car after cleaning and decontamination wash Ps the car paint as never been protected I prefer sheeting over beading I want something which would last about 4-6 months and don’t want to ceramic coat or anything that costly.
You could technically apply it on a waxed car, but not sure as to how much bonding there would be. This product is mostly used as a stand-alone product on a car that has no protection, or to top off a ceramic coated car.
that long? omg i didn't know. i had my car repainted and put sealant on it after 6 days. But then again until now (8 months since sealing it) i have not seen any problems
Hi Pan, This almost looks too good to be true. Is this as effective as a standard sealant application? Is the coat equally "thick"? It looks like you only sprayed it on the paint. Can it be applied to the entire car? (Excluding tires) Thanks for all your awesome, informative videos!
Hi Seth! Keep in mind this is a quick way to add gloss and protect your paint for 2-3 months. Paint sealants last longer but are way longer to apply. HydrO2 is also super economical. Only one or two sprays per panel is all you need. Spray on, immediately rinse off. You can apply it to all exterior surfaces except glass.
I washed and waxed my car last fall with Colliite 845 last fall and obviously have zero beading. Is it okay to wash, clay and then Hydr02? Or do I have to strip the old wax? Any product recommendations if so?
Always Strip before applying any Protection to not only remove old Protection but any Soap Residue and other Oils to obtain a naked paint. Wash / Iron / Clay / Strip / Protect This gives your New Protection maximum longevity.
+sean mcgrath You can dilute it to what ever level you want but after discussions with CarPro, it was recommended to dilute it at 1:7 and that works great in my environment (temp, humidity, etc). You can go up to 1:10 too. On their website they recommend starting at 1:6 dilution. Where did you see 1:3? 1:3 would increase the chances of streaks in my opinion...
Great video and info, thanks.. I'm just curious about your thoughts about the Optimum line of products - their wash, seal, and wax in particular. Have you shot any videos about them? Thanks again - JB
Hi Pan , another great informative video. I’m going to be compounding/polishing one of our vehicles that has not been sealed in a long time. After coating with HydrO2 , is it best to use CarPro RESET to wash? I’d like to keep all the products from the same manufacturer. Also , would the CarPro Elixir OR the DIY Spray Detailer as per your video good for in between washings and quick detail? Thank you, Howard
Hi Pan, I enjoy the ceramic coating videos as they are teaching me things I didn’t know much information about. At the moment I’m considering different options for my cars. I really like the concept of the Angelwax Enigma Ceramic Wax because of the ease of application. Just to confirm, the Car Pro Elixir can be used with the Angelwax if the Enigma QED Quick Detailer is not available. Thanks again Pan. Your videos and knowledge are top notch, thank you, Howard
Hey Pan...I know this is an old video but I recently found mist & spray sealant...been using seal & shine (terrific product) but rather save time & my back and try these spray on sealants. Do you have any experience with Autoglym Polar Seal? You mix with water in the snow foam and spray it on. I actually thought to try the similar principle but with the Seal & Shine and see if it works 🤔
Hi Pan, Love your channel! This product looks great and I also purchased the Carpro Cube to try out their range. Would you use a combination of Hydr02 and Reload on wheels? Is there a problem with spraying Hydr02 on the brake disks? Thanks again mate.
+Stephen Walker You can spray HydrO2 on your wheels no problem. Great for the inner barels too! If you're speaying HydrO2, no need to also apply Reload. Use either or. How did you discover my channel Stephen?
Pan TheOrganizer Great, thanks for the reply Pan. I am getting a new VW Tiguan soon and want to treat it right. I came across your channel while researching proper cleaning techniques. I'm really looking forward to your future reviews and best product selection in each category. 😊👍
Hi, pan. Great vid. Ive gotten really into cleaning mine and my wifes car because of you. Its so fun. I have a truck that doesnt fit in my garage, and i live in a very humid part of the world where its dewey every morning. How do i get a ceramic coat to cure that first 24 hours?
You would have to use a ceramic coating that won’t last as long but that can cure in 4 hours. Something amazing that I will be presenting soon on my channel. Stay tuned!
Hi Pan, Thanks for the great videos and reviews.. In this video there are some kind of protection on your paint before you spray HydrO2 on and activate it. Please look carefully on the video on the before and notice how there is a sheeting effekt and minor beading effect also. You said in the begining of the video, that you had washed, decon, clayed and polished the car. Are you sure there are not any of the products which you used for polishing there has protection in it? Did you use IPA or similiar after finishing the polish? I can see there is a big different to the beading and sheeting after the applied HydrO2 and I agree its a great product.
Hi Christopher, Yes the paint was fully stripped of any prior coating. The car was chemically and physically decontaminated, then compound and polish, followed by a proper IPA wipe to remove polishing oils and residual products. The car had not been detailed in over a year. Of course, as you spray body panels with HydrO2 and pressure wash, there is product that falls on other panels, hence why you see some minor beading. It was probably from other panels that I was spraying. But you can see on the hood and the trunk lid that the water makes a big pool of slowly sheeting (before HydrO2) and when I apply HydrO2 you see major beading and sheeting is much quicker... So what you are refering to is probably cross-contamination of HydrO2 that was flying on other panels during pressure washing. This product is really powerful. I hope this answers your comment.
I like your videos this and the one about cermic coat are what I havr seen till now. The crazy part is I don't even own a vehicle yet but plan to get a 3 series within few weeks. I just bumped across this chanel whilr looking at some ammo videos. I have question though, after you apply similar products like the hydro2 or the ceramic coat, how do you suggest to clean the car between the next application (3-6months as you say) and is there a need to remove the previous coat for reapplication?
+Harsh Patil Thanks for the comments! You'll get answers to your questions soon in one of my upcoming videos. ;) Which is your favorite video so far on my channel?
Great video. I don't own a pressure washer. Could I still use this product with a very forceful spray from my hose attachment or is that not strong enough?
Hello Pan, great video. Never heard of this product before. I usually wash my car with purple wash soap and just dry it with Meguiar quik wax. This product looks better and looks like it would last longer. The question is, should I continue to wash the car with purple wash soap after using this or should I switch to a PH neutral soap instead? Really, how do I wash the car with this product on? Thanks!
What pH is Purple Wash? Never heard of that product. If you're using a powerful cleaner, pH 10 and above, it's great to remove traffic film, but don't use it during every wash as it also strips waxes and sealants. Instead, use a pH neutral soap for maintenance washes. And yes this spray on rinse off HydrO2 formula gives you great protection for 2-3 months and is so easy to apply.
Sorry, I meant Purple Power Heavy-Duty Vehicle and Boat Pressure Wash Concentrate from Walmart. I think it's like pH 10 or so. So after I apply Hydro2, I should use a pH neutral soap for my maintenance washes until it's time to reapply. Got it, thanks!
Ah yes, of course I use Purple Power Vehicle and Boat Wash. It's pH 10 and is a great traffic film remover. I add 2 to 3 oz of it in my foam cannon and use it as a pre-wash soap. You can see me use it in my latest spring detail tutorial video: ua-cam.com/video/7dm8kisu1WI/v-deo.html
Thanks again for the response but to be clear, if you use Hydro2 then you wouldn't use Purple every time you wash the car, right? So after Hydro2, maintenance washes are pH neutral then once every 3 months or so Purple then Hydro2 again. Does that sound right?
Hi Pan, I'm an avid user of Carpro ECh2o as a quick detailer (for light dust and fingerprints) in-between my once-a-week washes. Pre-washing is done out of the sun (at dusk) using a garden hose foam sprayer with ph neutral non-wax shampoo, 2-bucket wash with Carpro Reset, leaf blower drying, then wiped dry with Rag Company Liquid8r. I also have Cquartz UK 3.0 as a coating that's about a year old in a NEVER-garaged daily driver. I'm very meticulous about my car, especially since its dark-blue in color and always outside. My question is = if I apply Hydro2 after my weekly wash but I still use the Ech2o quick detailer during the week, will wiping down the surface with Ech2o actually REMOVE the Hydro2? Aloha!
Hey pan, do you think you can make a proper tutorial on how to polish out swirl marks (not exactly paint correction). I know it sound simple and like something that has already been posted but there really isn't. Most "tutorials" are people that are just promoting a product or just saying what they're doing and then just doing it rather then explaining HOW to do it. I know the quality of your videos so I know of you were to make a video like this, it would be fantastic!
Hi Jared! That's a great idea. I did a video showing how to properly compound and polish a car, but it was only in French. I'll look into producing an English version. ;)
Both are nearly identical in every way. HydrO2 Lite is pre-diluted and ready to use like Gyeon WetCoat. Or you get the regular HydrO2 which can be diluted and get more bang for your buck. But durability and overall performance is almost identical.
Hey Pan quick question for you, you have referred to as using Iron removers on cars to prep before waxing, sealants, coatings, etc. I am planning on applying reflex to my truck soon. How do I know if I need an Iron remover ? I am going to use a strip wash before I begin as well as an IPA wipe from Carpro after a light polish. Would using a strip wash and an IPA wipe accomplish the same goal as a Iron remover which is to decontaiminte the paint ? Thank you Pan!
Hi John. It protects a bit more than traditional waxes or sealants, but like anything, if you leave those contaminants long enough on the paint, it will etch through. There is no magic coating that is bulletproof. This is like a supercharged. version of a wax or sealant.
I use Gyeon Wetcoat myself, but I'm wondering if I can use it after maintenance washes when my car has something like Soft 99 Fusso coat or Menzerna Powerlock on it to top off with WetCoat. What are your thoughts? Or should I just use spray sealants on paint with nothing on it. Thanks!
+Philip Chang You can use Wet Coat or HydrO2 over waxes or sealants, but I'm not sure how well they'd bond to the surface. HydrO2 was meant to be used as stand-alone nano coating or to top off ceramic coatings. How did you discover my channel?
can you wax your car ontop of ceramic coatings/spray sealants to get that insane showcar shine? And when your ceramic coating is starting to wear off do you just redo every step from the least aggresive way of compund/polish then redo everything as the first time?
+Marie Nygård You don't add waxes or sealants on top of ceramic coatings. I suggest you watch my latest video on how to do a proper maintenance wash on coated cars, everything is well explained. You apply a silica spray sealant on top of ceramic coatings. Boosts gloss and protects the coating. Also, by design, coatings are already super glossy.
Thanks for clearing that up, ive already watched all your detailing videos, and before you ask: i found your channel threw searching for car care on youtube. As always thanks for the amazing content!
+Eric Nguyen It’s a question of personal taste. This product is meant to save time on application. If you like the look of a good carnauba paste wax, stick with that.
Just recently found your channel and I honestly could watch your vids all day long! Just wondering with this carpro hydro if I was to use this then there wouldn’t be a need to wax the car after I’ve used the clay bar? Sorry if I sound dumb lol, I’m just getting into all this detailing stuff
Hi Paul, thanks for the positive feedback, I'm glad that you're enjoying my videos. :) There are no dumb questions by the way. Everyone has to start some place and I like to educate my viewers, hence my I make the videos. There are normally 3 major forms of paint protection: waxes, sealants and ceramic coatings. You can mix waxes and sealants (you apply a base layer of paint sealant, than a top coat of carnauba wax). But don't mix those products with ceramic coatings. Ceramic coatings are often SiO2 based (silica) and HydrO2 is one such product. It doesn't play well with waxes or sealants. So when you're done prepping the paint (washing, iron remover, clay bar, polish if needed, IPA wipe) you can then apply HydrO2 and there's nothing else to do for 2-3 months. After 2-3 months, just apply another coat. I hope that answers your question.
Whats the difference with using CarPro HydrO2 vs. CarPro Reload for maintenance use? Don't they serve the same purpose? Hydr02 is applied to a wet car where Relfex is applied to a dry car, post wash. My car has CQuartz UK and Gliss for Base/Top Coat.
Reload lasts a little longer, but yes both are similar way of adding a boost of SiO2 protection to a coating. You can also apply Reload on a wet car by the way, serves as a nice drying aid.
Hi Pan! Amazing video. Thanks a lot! It's very simple use the products watching your videos!.. the Hydro2 is compatible with ceramic coatings? Thanks a lot again! Regards from Spain
Cool vid, and I also just bought some of this stuff. I'd like to add I think it is made from Unicorn tears, and dragon extract. This stuff is pure magic and shouldn't exist.
I have a water softener system. Check out my video here: ua-cam.com/video/E_P6wRo3BH8/v-deo.html And I reviewed my water softener here: ua-cam.com/video/G66IR8kS0uQ/v-deo.html
When i used this i was pretty impressed on the beading but it sure seemed like the protection didnt last very long considering how expensive the product is
Id say maybe i had a two months of ok protection. I was expecting it to be better honestly. I have seen the reload but wasn't sure what the difference was between the two products. Skeptical about getting anymore of it. I did see that the mckees 37 brand makes a similar product for $20ish on autogeek.
Hey Pan, I assume this is safe to use on headlights, tail lights and glass? What about on vinyl wrap and plastic trim pieces? Thanks in advance and awesome videos!
Here are two videos I made for my detailing equipment: 1) This is where I had my older Karcher K5 pressure washer (1900 psi, 1.4gpm, electric): ua-cam.com/video/v_vbuUogjd4/v-deo.html 2) This is where I show my new high end Kranzle 1122TST pressure washer (1400 psi, 2.1gpm, electric): ua-cam.com/video/yK-GL-9lIrk/v-deo.html

@@PanTheOrganizer I discovered your channel when I started my detailing business 2 years ago any questions I came across, you were my solution and only answer. Ever since, I've become a professional detailer, all thanks to you! God bless you 🙏
I got a bottle of this as a "free gift" a year ago. Just now used it and didn't see any difference. My install may not be ideal as 1) The car had a coat of (year old) gliss and still beaded fairly well and 2) the bottle had turned cloudy. Was it bad? Maybe I'll find a car that isn't coated and see what happens.
@@PanTheOrganizer It had been stored in the garage. Semi sheltered but temp varied between 45 and 120 degrees. Now I have a spot to store inside as all of my polishing creams went bad also.
Pan TheOrganizer no I kno that ,but if it's clean and dry can u apply it to a dry vehicle and wipe off with a towel as well without getting the car wet.
Mainly the application method. Both are silica spray sealants. Reload can be applied on dry paint, or used as a drying aid. HydrO2 must be applied to wet paint, and immediately rinsed off. Water activated. You don't need to apply these after each wash. Once every 2 to 3 months is more than enough.
Hey Pan, Thanks for all your great videos & DIY, I have recently fully corrected the paint on my car thanks to you. To protect the finish & enhance gloss, I have applied Meguiar's Utimate liquid wax at the final stage, and I was looking for a quick way to boost/maintain the protection between wax application. Would you recommend Hydro2 as a topper over a wax like Meguiar's Ultimate liquid wax ? Thanks for your wise advice, and keep up the good work. :) Cheers
No, you only use silica based spray sealants (like CarPro HydrO2) on virgin clear coat or on top of ceramic coatings. Not on top of waxes or paint sealants.
Hi pan ! Thx for the amazing video once again ! Does a wax like fusso soft99 is interesting to combine with hydro2 or the hydro Is doing the job itself ?
Thanks for the comment! HydrO2 is meant to be used as a stand alone product on an unprotected surface, or to top off an existing ceramic coating. Pointless in spraying it on top of a wax or sealant, as I'm not sure as to how well the product would bond to the paint...
Pan TheOrganizer thx for ur answer ! You re awesome ! As i ve seen one of your video talking about the fusso ( im in absolute love of it ) Would u recommend hydro for all jobs now as its super efficient and long time active or still using fusso with maybe a wax spray from soft99 ( if it exist ) for a better result when time Is free Cheers from France !
FUSSO Coat last way longer than HydrO2. Fusso is a sealant wax. HydrO2 is a sprayable, wipe-less spray nano-coating (like a light version of a ceramic coating). HydrO2 lasts 3 to 6 months depending on maintenance.
Hi Pan! Love your channel and your content as usual!! I wanted to ask you for the best hydrophobic spray you recommend for cars without a ceramic coating. I currently have the Carpro hydro2 lite in my cart but also saw you had recommended p&s bead maker and also hydrosilex. What are your thoughts?
HI Jonee. It depends on what you're looking for. If you have no protection on your paint, then you're open to anything. For long durability (3-4 months) and hydrophobic properties, SiO2 based spray-on sealants are the best (CarPro HydrO2, Gyeon Wet Coat, etc). But you can't spray these on top of waxes or sealants. You use these as a stand alone product, or use them on top of ceramic coatings. But for ultimate gloss and slickness, P&S Bead Maker is my current champion. You can apply this on top of waxes, sealants or coatings, or use it as a stand alone product. Sonax Spray n Seal is another good one. Both offer 1-2 months real world protection.
Hey Pan, have u ever used car pro spotless, I'm not sure if it's safe to use on my ceramic coat. Do we need to apply something on the coat like a QD before spraying on the coat?
Since driving mine and my wife's cars after HydrO2, I have noticed windshield issues in both sun and rain which are obviously due to splats of activated HydrO2 bonded to the windshields, even thouigh I tried to spray everything clear of them when applying. I have fixed both with a hard clay bar and Invisible Glass but don't want to have to keep doing that. Any solutions Pan?
I never encountered that issue. Make sure you only do 2-3 sprays max per panel. Avoid spraying on glass (although the label says it’s ok) and never work in direct sunlight...
Thanks a lot for sharing this video with us. As usual it was an amazing video👍😊. I'll like to try this product on a brand new car but I don't have a pressure washer😯. Would that be a problem??? Please respond..

Its been seven months, with extended experience with this product, do you still recommend its use? Thanks
Pan TheOrganizer Is there a reason you don’t apply it to the glass and rims? Is it recommended for the cars paint only?
How frequently we must apply CarPro HYDRO 2 in a year and how can we use a CarPro reload on a hydro2 treated surface
+TheNotimprezed
That is a great real world experience! Thanks for sharing!!
How did you discover my channel?
Pan TheOrganizer It was a UA-cam suggested channel based on my viewing of other detailing videos (forensic detailing, car craft, obsessed garage, ammo NYC, auto fetish, etc). I'm always looking for pro tips I can apply at home.
+TheNotimprezed
👍🏻
How much of the diluted solution you used ?
Since retirement two years ago and moving out to the country I found my car and truck covered in fine Iowa dust during harvest time. Since I'm the type if I'm going to do something I like to do it to the best of my ability. I found auto fetish on UA-cam and began to take notes on his methods. Then your website came up while I was watching his video, and it seemed like you had the exact same interests and passions as I did. I started watching and couldn't stop. Now I've started over and taking notes. Thanks again Pan.
+Rick Hobbs
That's good to hear Rick! I'm glad you're enjoying my videos and learning too. I work very hard at producing these videos. 👍🏻
Good stuff. I just picked up Gyeon wetcoat and love it. Gives your wheels added protection and pop as well. I will use a product like this for a daily driven car applying it every 3rd or 4th wash.
I am now a 'pan' of your UA-cam channel. Keep up the good work!
Hehehe thanks!!
I done my dads car with this product I rinsed , snow foamed and then two bucket washed and then applied and rinsed straight off .
My dad was convinced I had actually polished it with my polish machine.
11/10 product in my opinion
Perfect timing for the video. Just purchase a samples box containing 9 CarPro 50ml products. Hydro lite being 1 of the samples. 👍🏻👌
I think you'll like this if you want a super quick way to add protection and gloss to your paint.
Pan TheOrganizer do I need to dry the car after applying the product?
+woncho1
Yes of course, the routine stays the same.
+Ungankable
Chemical Guys Fabric Clean or McKee's Carpet cleaner work great. Did you watch my video on how to clean floor mats?

How did you discover my channel?
Pan TheOrganizer I searched up on UA-cam how to wash cars and your video popped up. Since I started to watch your videos to learn tricks, techniques. I would like to become a auto Detailer in a while thanks for your videos!!!!👍🏻
Hii Pan i have two questions. 1- can i use hydro foam shampoo for maintenance washing? 2- Can i use honeydew foam on ceramic coatings? Tks Mr. Detailer 😉👍
Yes to both questions.
Thks Pan 🤗
Very nice review Pan. I have a question, after applying do you dry the car as normal? The hydrophobic action is pretty good! Keep up the great work!
Todd Halstead
No. He simply sprayed it on, then sprayed it off, very well.
Thanks Todd! Yup once rinsed, you dry the car as usual. The routine doesn't change. It's a great way to top off an existing ceramic coating, or to add a quick layer of protection and gloss to an unprotected paint. It can be applied on all exterior surfaces.
If adding this for a quick layer to unprotected paint, how easy is to to remove when you want to do the actual paint correction?
This plus a leaf blower makes your wash much quicker! Great video
nice review 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 just got one question which one will you recommend using carpro reload or this one on top of a cquartz uk protected paint thank you very much keep up the good work
I was using hydro lite but it never use to last. Now I'm using this and its so much more hydrophobic and last longer.
Love all your videos, especially any that have to do with keeping things neat and clean. That includes home, shop as well as the car. Always looking forward to the next video.
Thanks Rick! I appreciate it!
How did you discover my channel?
Hi Pan! Can I just wash and prepare my car, polish it and use this product 2-3 times a year. Is this a good protection in general? Would I have good protection in winter (salt etc..) with normally maintaining my vehicle?
You sure can! And when you see performance dimishing (less water beading) just reapply.
You’ll have to polish your car to remove the coating. Or wait 6 months to make sure it isn’t there anymore.
Thanks Pan!
+Birju Patel
You apply a base layer of CQuartz.
+Birju Patel
Not recommended on windows as it could leave streaks. Technically it goes on all exterior surfaces but I avoid glass.
Can you use carpro reset for your weekly washes when applying this or is reset only for ceramic coatings?
Will the paint benefit from applying carnuba wax after applying Hydro2? for more shine?
Never combine waxes with silica based products or coatings!
Hey Pan, should you dry the car like normal after doing this - or best to just leave it?
When you’re done spraying this and rinsing it off, then you must dry your vehicle as per usual.
Hi Pan,
I just used this product on my wheels, my question is: does iron remover take it off or damage the product? And also, how often do you apply this? I’ve done a through cleaning of my car already and have protected it well, I wonder if I need to keep applying per time.
Thanks!
It can resist iron removers. It’s hard to tell durability on wheels, but you know it’s time to reapply when the water doesn’t bead as much.
Thanks for watching
I've tried the lite version and lasted 3 months, now trying the concentrated version :)
I use the concentrated version diluted 1:7
I haven't used this CarPro spray, but I have used Gyeon Wet Coat. I wasn''t happy with it at all. That stuff doesn't last 2 weeks, that's how quickly it washes off. Hopefully this one is better.
Try Sonax Spray and Seal. Up to 3 months real world protection and great gloss. I did a review here: ua-cam.com/video/FpgDRSGenWQ/v-deo.html
@@PanTheOrganizer Will do. Thanks Pan.
Pan, how would you recommend drying after this products wash-off?
Use a leaf blower. Watch my video: ua-cam.com/video/yHT1ty3CED8/v-deo.html
I am bombarded by ads for Top Coat F-11. Is it not as good, or is it just as good, or is it better than CarPro Hydr02 ?
Never tried it.
Hi! To apply this product, is it necessary to clean the car with alcohol (or somerhing like this) after polishing for the anchorage? How is it done with sealants or ceramics? Thanks!!
Yes.
Thanks
1) No. don’t mix regular waxes with ceramic based products.
2) No curing time.
3) You could in theory do that but there’s no need to.
@@PanTheOrganizer Thanks for the quick reply. Then i just use the hydro2 as maintenance.
How would you rate this against P&S Beadmaker? Also can I apply anything over it to "seal" it in without destroying it? Just getting into detailing.
Bead Maker has higher gloss and slickness. HydrO2 lasts longer and is quicker to apply.
Great video this and also a very good comment section. I had a few questions which have all been answered allready raised by others. Also an appropriate Paaaaan length 👊
👍🏻👍🏻
Do you recommend after washing the vehicle to apply a polish and THEN hydro2? Thanks and hi from NJ
Hi mate! Does this work well as a windscreen sealant or would you recommend still applying a windscreen sealant?
Hi Luke! I don't recommend using this on glass. You'd be better off with a true glass sealant like Aquapel, AngelWax H2GO, Optimum Glass Coat, etc.
Pan TheOrganizer
Thank you sir.
What is the best way to protect a white car after cleaning and decontamination wash
Ps the car paint as never been protected
I prefer sheeting over beading
I want something which would last about 4-6 months and don’t want to ceramic coat or anything that costly.
Here's your answer in a video I made with my brother's white VW Jetta: ua-cam.com/video/YZZ-Piyraas/v-deo.html
Will it work if I do this then park outside in a -20 deg celsius weather. Or should i wait until summer?
As long as you apply it at room temp you're fine.
3 months max life in India, using for the 2nd time, but gives a nice glossy look, water beads off, car looks in mint condition.
Yes 2-3 months seems like an average durability range in different countries/weather conditions.
Seems to be an awesome product !
One question....after the car is waxed....can this product be applied on top of the wax coat?
You could technically apply it on a waxed car, but not sure as to how much bonding there would be. This product is mostly used as a stand-alone product on a car that has no protection, or to top off a ceramic coated car.
Pan TheOrganizer can this be applied to a brand new car?
Thanks !
that long? omg i didn't know. i had my car repainted and put sealant on it after 6 days. But then again until now (8 months since sealing it) i have not seen any problems
Just like hydrosilex, same application. Good job nice video and I got another good product to make may cars shiny.
Thanks Domino!
Nice video Pan. What product do you recommend using to strip/remove my wax prior to using the hydro2.
Purple Power Vehicle and Boat wash if you live in the US.
Pan TheOrganizer I'm in Sask, Canada I usually get my stuff from eshine...
Oh cool! A fellow Canadian! If you're on the West Coast, check out Auto Obsessed, the biggest Canadian car detailing products supplier.
Hi Pan,
This almost looks too good to be true. Is this as effective as a standard sealant application? Is the coat equally "thick"? It looks like you only sprayed it on the paint. Can it be applied to the entire car? (Excluding tires)
Thanks for all your awesome, informative videos!
Hi Pan I haved used this stuff which is very good. You say dilute 1:7, Carpro say 1:3, does it work diluted to what you are saying Regards Sean
+sean mcgrath
You can dilute it to what ever level you want but after discussions with CarPro, it was recommended to dilute it at 1:7 and that works great in my environment (temp, humidity, etc). You can go up to 1:10 too.
On their website they recommend starting at 1:6 dilution. Where did you see 1:3? 1:3 would increase the chances of streaks in my opinion...
Thanks for reply. I saw it on carpro uk website. I have had the h2lite which impressed with and my customers happy.
Great video and info, thanks.. I'm just curious about your thoughts about the Optimum line of products - their wash, seal, and wax in particular. Have you shot any videos about them? Thanks again - JB
Thanks Jarret! Optimum Polymer Technologies is a great company! I've used many of their products.
Yes I plan on doing a brand review video soon! ;)
Yes to both your questions Howard.
Thank you Pan for the reply, I really appreciate it. I’m learning a lot from your informative videos.
Thanks Howard!
What’s your favourite video on my channel so far?
I haven’t test Autoglym products yet unfortunately.
Hi Pan, Love your channel! This product looks great and I also purchased the Carpro Cube to try out their range. Would you use a combination of Hydr02 and Reload on wheels? Is there a problem with spraying Hydr02 on the brake disks? Thanks again mate.
+Stephen Walker
You can spray HydrO2 on your wheels no problem.
You'll be glad to see tomorrow's video then!! Stay tuned!!
Hi, pan.
Stay tuned!
Sound identical to Permanon except it is not as expensive. Gonna give it a try.
Hi Pan,
Thanks for the great videos and reviews..
Hi Christopher,
Yes the paint was fully stripped of any prior coating.
Hi Pan,
I follow you and agree that it could be the effects of "over" spray, which we see on the panels. What coating did you have on the car before?
I like your videos this and the one about cermic coat are what I havr seen till now. The crazy part is I don't even own a vehicle yet but plan to get a 3 series within few weeks. I just bumped across this chanel whilr looking at some ammo videos. I have question though, after you apply similar products like the hydro2 or the ceramic coat, how do you suggest to clean the car between the next application (3-6months as you say) and is there a need to remove the previous coat for reapplication?
+Harsh Patil
Thanks for the comments!
You'll get answers to your questions soon in one of my upcoming videos. ;)
Which is your favorite video so far on my channel?
Great video. I don't own a pressure washer. Could I still use this product with a very forceful spray from my hose attachment or is that not strong enough?
I never tried anything other than a pressure washer... You'd have to have a mighty strong garden hose (big water pressure)...
I'll look into producing an English version. ;)
Which is better in your opinion. Gyon wet coat or the Carpro
Both are nearly identical in every way. HydrO2 Lite is pre-diluted and ready to use like Gyeon WetCoat.
Or you get the regular HydrO2 which can be diluted and get more bang for your buck.
But durability and overall performance is almost identical.
@@PanTheOrganizer ok. Thanks. I bought reload, ech2, and plan on getting Cquartz. Might as well stick to the car pro then.
No. An iron remover is a must, in order to remove the embeded iron particles in the clear coat.
Pan does it protected from acid rain, bird droppings etc what product would you use to maintain it
Hi John. It protects a bit more than traditional waxes or sealants, but like anything, if you leave those contaminants long enough on the paint, it will etch through. There is no magic coating that is bulletproof. This is like a supercharged. version of a wax or sealant.
Paaaaaaan the organizer! Love your videos brother
Thanks Oscar!
Thanks!
+Philip Chang
You can use Wet Coat or HydrO2 over waxes or sealants, but I'm not sure how well they'd bond to the surface.
+Marie Nygård
You don't add waxes or sealants on top of ceramic coatings.
Cool stuff! Would you recommend this product over traditional sealant + carnauba wax (time not being a factor)?
+Eric Nguyen
It’s a question of personal taste.
There are no dumb questions by the way.
Pan TheOrganizer thanks so much for the reply, it’s very much appreciated! Looking forward to binge watching more of your videos lol
Pan TheOrganizer what do you do in between coating? Can you use a normal qd? How about washing? Any car wash soap?
Whats the difference with using CarPro HydrO2 vs. CarPro Reload for maintenance use? Don't they serve the same purpose? Hydr02 is applied to a wet car where Relfex is applied to a dry car, post wash. My car has CQuartz UK and Gliss for Base/Top Coat.
Reload lasts a little longer, but yes both are similar way of adding a boost of SiO2 protection to a coating. You can also apply Reload on a wet car by the way, serves as a nice drying aid.
Pan TheOrganizer thanks Pan, I’ll stick with Reload. Your videos are top notch! Keep it up buddy
Reload is also what I use. I love that product!
What spray bottle are you issuing? Looking for a one that mists like yours. Thanks.
That was a Chemical Guys spray bottle and sprayer.
Hi Pan! Amazing video. Thanks a lot! It's very simple use the products watching your videos!.. the Hydro2 is compatible with ceramic coatings? Thanks a lot again! Regards from Spain
HydrO2 is a nano coating, but lasts 2-4 months compared to coatings which last years. HydrO2 is more for the ease of application.
Cool vid, and I also just bought some of this stuff. I'd like to add I think it is made from Unicorn tears, and dragon extract. This stuff is pure magic and shouldn't exist.
+Sophana Aik
I hope you're joking...
Do you use filtered /distilled water when detailing cars or just regular city water? Thanks Shawn
I have a water softener system.
Check out my video here: ua-cam.com/video/E_P6wRo3BH8/v-deo.html
And I reviewed my water softener here: ua-cam.com/video/G66IR8kS0uQ/v-deo.html
Hey does it leave the paint surface smooth and slick
+Adam Young
Yes Adam! It's like if you had applied a thin coat of wax. Really surprising for such an easy product to apply.
When i used this i was pretty impressed on the beading but it sure seemed like the protection didnt last very long considering how expensive the product is
+Gordon Liddy
How long did it last for you? Typically, a minimum of 3 months is what most users get out of it. You could try Reload too.
Id say maybe i had a two months of ok protection. I was expecting it to be better honestly. I have seen the reload but wasn't sure what the difference was between the two products. Skeptical about getting anymore of it. I did see that the mckees 37 brand makes a similar product for $20ish on autogeek.
Do you wipe it off afterwards or you just allow it to dry on its own?
Once you're done rinsing the car, you dry as you normally would.
Hey Pan, I assume this is safe to use on headlights, tail lights and glass? What about on vinyl wrap and plastic trim pieces? Thanks in advance and awesome videos!
On pretty much all exterior surface, but I would avoid glass as it can streak on glass.
How did you discover my channel?
Thanks for the reply! Found your vids from just searching around online for detailing info
What pressure washer/hose does everyone use? I want to get one but don’t know enough and do not want to damage my paint with too much psi.
Here are two videos I made for my detailing equipment:
1) This is where I had my older Karcher K5 pressure washer (1900 psi, 1.4gpm, electric): ua-cam.com/video/v_vbuUogjd4/v-deo.html
2) This is where I show my new high end Kranzle 1122TST pressure washer (1400 psi, 2.1gpm, electric): ua-cam.com/video/yK-GL-9lIrk/v-deo.html

@@PanTheOrganizer I'm located in San Fernando, California, I do 90% of my work mobile.
can you just use a hose with the jet stream or must be used with a pressure washer?
If you have enough pressure with your garden hose it's ok too.
Yeah cloudy isn’t good. The chemical had probably gone bad or froze at one point.
@@PanTheOrganizer It had been stored in the garage. Semi sheltered but temp varied between 45 and 120 degrees. Now I have a spot to store inside as all of my polishing creams went bad also.
hi pan what if i spray this on the wheelwell? will it work? because here in our place its always muddy thanks pan more power
It has to bond to a clear coated surface like paintwork and wheels.
How the performance of Chemical resistance.? Do you hav any test vedio?
Resistance to what chemicals are you talking about?
Hey pan do you have to rinse it off, like if the car is clean after a wash and is dry can you apply and buff off with microfiber towel? ?
You clean the car, rinse, and while it’s still wet, you spray the product and rinse immediately just like in the video.
Pan TheOrganizer no I kno that ,but if it's clean and dry can u apply it to a dry vehicle and wipe off with a towel as well without getting the car wet.
Nope. This is a wet application only. For dry application, use CarPro Reload silica spray sealant.
Hi Pan, just bought this. I cannot use it in the sun? What about early in the morning?
Early morning or late afternoon is best, same applies for pretty much any detailing products.
What’s the difference between hydr02 vs reload? Can I apply reload then use hydr02 for like a topper for every wash?
Mainly the application method. Both are silica spray sealants. Reload can be applied on dry paint, or used as a drying aid. HydrO2 must be applied to wet paint, and immediately rinsed off. Water activated.
You don't need to apply these after each wash. Once every 2 to 3 months is more than enough.
Hey Pan,
Thanks for all your great videos & DIY, I have recently fully corrected the paint on my car thanks to you.
Cheers
No, you only use silica based spray sealants (like CarPro HydrO2) on virgin clear coat or on top of ceramic coatings. Not on top of waxes or paint sealants.
Great stuff . Do you need a pressure washer or can you just hit it with a high stream sprays from a hose
+nmore69
Ideally you want a pressure washer, but I've seen some use a heavy stream from a hose too.
Can you use this for the windshield, rear glass, and windows too? If not, what do you recommend using?
+cesskier
Yes absolutely! It can be sprayed on all exterior surfaces!
Thank you, sir! Love all your videos!
+cesskier
Thanks! I appreciate it!
What's your favorite video on my channel so far?
Is it bad to apply in direct sunlight?
Not ideal
i don't have a power washer nor access anywhere else to one ,, a garden hose with the spray nozzle on the"fan pattern", will that work ?
As i ve seen one of your video talking about the fusso ( im in absolute love of it )
Would u recommend hydro for all jobs now as its super efficient and long time active or still using fusso with maybe a wax spray from soft99 ( if it exist ) for a better result when time Is free
Cheers from France !
FUSSO Coat last way longer than HydrO2. Fusso is a sealant wax. HydrO2 is a sprayable, wipe-less spray nano-coating (like a light version of a ceramic coating). HydrO2 lasts 3 to 6 months depending on maintenance.
This stuff is amazing, its magic! Love using it best to coat my wheels :D
Also use the hydrofoam regularly and layers build up, its awesome!
Thanks for the comment!
How did you discover my channel?
Showed up under recommended videos.
How long do you REALLY think it will last with some wax on top like Collinete or OPT spray wax?
Don’t apply waxes or sealants on top of SiO2 products.
How does this affect glass and plastic on the vehicle, also the tires?
I would avoid glass to prevent streaking. You don’t spray it on the tires.
I've seen people use bread maker as a clay lube, can I use this as clay lube?
No, as this is a spray on rinse off sealant.
Hey Pan, have u ever used car pro spotless, I'm not sure if it's safe to use on my ceramic coat. Do we need to apply something on the coat like a QD before spraying on the coat?
Yes I have used Spotless and it’s safe on CQuartz. Just follow the instructions to the T.
Pan TheOrganizer thanks Pan, Iassume Cquart a ceramic coat. My detailer used a different one. I guess there's only one way to find out haha. Cheers
Haha. Love your into 😂👍
Also absolutely amazing videos. I love watching them

@@PanTheOrganizer UA-cam suggestion. Looked on another video from ChrisFix and your video was featured in the list of suggested videos
Pan TheOrganizer Thanks Pan. I probably used too much!
Thanks a lot for sharing this video with us. As usual it was an amazing video👍😊. I'll like to try this product on a brand new car but I don't have a pressure washer😯. Would that be a problem??? Please respond..
You’d at least need a very strong jet of water...
