You can apply wax by hand or by machine, using a dual action polisher. I recommend that you apply wax at least every 3 months, or at the change of every season. Wax usually comes in liquid or paste form. Make sure you follow the instructions on the product’s label for proper application and removal.

Pro tip #1: For best results, work in a garage. If that’s not possible, always work in the shade, out of direct sunlight, and apply the wax to a cool surface.
Pro tip #2: To extend the life of your wax, always wash your car with a pH neutral car soap. Once you’re done rinsing, you can use a quick detailer and spray it on a wet or dry surface. This will boost the gloss and add a bit of protection (in the case of a spray wax).
Pro tip #3: Always apply the thinnest possible layer of wax. Applying it too thick complicates its removal and you’re simply wasting product.
Pro tip #4: For added longevity, apply a base layer of paint sealant first (using the same methods) followed by a top layer of your favorite carnauba wax. You should get at least 5 to 6 months of durability this way. You get the long lasting protection of a paint sealant combined with the great shine of a carnauba wax.

Great information Pan, love your technique with applying and removing the wax. Just like you said a lot of people try to put too much on and it is very difficult to remove once it drys! Great advice about not waxing in the sun or on a warm panel. Keep up the great videos Pan.
Thanks! Yup, as much as I love ceramic coatings, some people don’t want the added complexity or the extra time needed to coat a car, so a nice coat of wax is perfect for them.
Thanks for all your great videos,
very informative love listening and watching them :)

Perfect timing on the new video pan, we actually have sunshine this week here in the UK. Great tip as well for applying a sealant to the paint before giving it a coat of wax. Wouldn’t have given it any thought. It’s normally cleaned, glazed and then sealed and that’s my lot. Going to give your tip a try tomorrow and wax it after I have got some sealant down. 👍
Awesome!
Very informative and knowledge video Pan. Some wax can be remove right after you apply it and you got to be careful because some can stain plastic trim so tape it. Also some wax are call cleaner wax which they can remove scratch.
I impressed with your presentation. everything discuss in short and easy way. you are a good teacher too as well as a professional skilled person.
So I used a bunch of your suggestions and recommended products... I bought the soap the IPA prep the paint sealant and the liquid wax! I spent quite a few hours working on my 2018 M550i! Turned out fantastic!!! As soon as the sealant went on and buffed off I could tell the paint was like glass the wax just locked it in! I’m going to keep up this routine but this is got me thinking about maybe trying to do my own ceramic job! Thanks Pan!

Thank you for taking time to talk about wax. I know the trend is more for ceramic coatings, but traditional wax and sealants aare great options, too. I like Meguiars Ultimate and plan to try Finish Kare this summer.
Thanks! Yes this was the objective. I love ceramic coatings, but for some people, it's a bit too complicated and takes more time. So I thought I'd share the basics of paint protection: a great coat of wax. :). Perfect for quickly protecting the paint against the elements, getting a couple of months of protection, great beading and great shine.

Great channel Pan, have watched most of your videos and learned quite a lot! I've just polished and waxed my car today (by hand!) using Autoglym Super Resin Polish and Meguiar's Ultimate Liquid Wax. Looks brand new!
I've got two questions, what's your take on applying wax by hand using microfiber applicator pad VS foam applicator? And the next is if you've tried Autoglym SRP and your experience on it?
Thanks for a great channel!
Thanks Jesper! For wax by hand, I like foam applicators but it’s purely a question of personal taste. I haven’t tried Autoglym.
Pan TheOrganizer alright, thanks for the quick reply! I've been leaning towards MF applicators due to the, in my experience, the lower risk on swirls, but that may be because of dirt still on the paint.
Thanks Pan for another great video tutorial. I'm using Meguiar's Gold Class paste wax. Should I apply that above or below Turtle Wax Seal N Shine?
Seal N Shine first. Wax last.

Pan TheOrganizer, got a cls 550 and decided that I wanted to keep it in mint condition so I started to research about detailing, etc. Started to watch UA-cam videos and yours came up, I think it was one of the ceramic videos that popped up.
Hi Pan. Great channel! I'm new to your channel and haven't gone through all the videos yet. I was wondering about the best way to fully clean the microfiber towels after waxing? I noticed my washer doesn't always get out all the wax residue.
I would also like to humbly add for people that have to wash and wax outside- be careful on windy days. The wind can carry contaminants that put micro scratches when you dry or wax the vehicle. Living in South Florida is a challenge with all the sand flying around on windy days.

Hi Pan quick question Im want to use the Meguiar's G18216 Ultimate Liquid Wax on my new car I asked dealer to just wash it after car is decontaminated with following ur steps how can I apply this particular wax with sponge or microfiber applicator and can I do the whole car or has to be done by sections and then after wax done I use paint prep again and then I can apply turtle wax graphene flex ? Or I don’t really need to wax just the graphene ?
Thank you for all your help
Hi Pan. love your videos. Watching and learning more than I ever expected. Random question. I have a glossy road bike. Is it okay to follow the same steps (clay bar, compound, polish and wax) on my bike???
If it has painted clear coated parts yes.
Welcome to my channel. You discovered one of the biggest car detailing channels on UA-cam as we surpassed 835,000 subscribers and 105 million views! I have been detailing for 25 years and I love to share my knowledge and passion with my viewers.
You found the right channel to help you learn everything about detailing.
Hi Pan The Organizer! I just found your channel and am geeking out. I never have been diligent about home washing/detailing but want to start. In another video you mentioned TurtleWax Ice Sealant. I've got a question: do you primarily use wax or sealant...or both? The number of products and processes are intimidating and I am trying to form a basic game plan for keeping my vehicle in good shape. Thanks!
My favourite paint protectants are ceramic coatings, but those need a bit more experience to apply. For basic protection, a good way is to apply a base layer of a paint sealant, and a top layer of a wax. I talk about a good combo in this video: ua-cam.com/video/ZtILoTKSXq8/v-deo.html
I always learn from your videos Pan. I wondered why you apply a sealant as well as a wax, and learned in this video that it extends the protection beyond a wax's 1 to 3 months. Thanks for being so succinct - I find that I watch some of your videos multiple times because they are so chock full of information!
Question: I love waxing my car and wonder if there's any benefit to multiple coats?
Thanks for the kind words and positive feedback. Layering coats of wax isn’t necessary, but does add a bit more depth to the reflection. I wouldn’t apply more than 2 coats.
Tim Coll I
Hi Pan! Greetings from Norway 😊. Thank you for all your tutorial videos, it has taught me a lot and makes me more comfortable doing work om my cars i used to let workshops do for me 👍.
I have a very special car that i only drive occasionally and when the weather is nice. Of course, the weather gods can be full of surprises so she can handle rain if it occurs. I like to keep her spotless and wash almost after each time. The paint is something called diavolo red and is just amazing what ever light hits. I polish maybe every third year and top with swisswax chrystal rock wich gives an nice and rich dept.
My question is: when i see your videos you explain and teach lik all cars have a lot of decontamination and the cleaning prosess is very comprehensive. World it be ok after inspecting the paint to just top of with a new layer of wax to simplify and still have a good protection and great look to the paint?
I use the colinite insulator wax in the lineup it makes paint look wet. Best wax I've used
Yup I agree! It gives off a superb glow too and a depth in the reflection. Awesome stuff!
Pan TheOrganizer definitely and I have to say you do the best detailing jobs and tips on you tube I've learned a bit from your videos thanks
I was thinking to apply the green bottle turtle wax with a machine (probably microfiber bonnet on soft pad) and then buff of with mf-towel and after-polish as it says on the bottle but here i will test either just manual after-polishing or with macine with either microfiber or wool bonnet. Could work right?
Or is it just in my imagination that the wax will "close" more and become slightly harder and longer lasting if after-polished?
G'Day Pan.
After watching one of your video's the other day I ended up buying The NV Luster. Fantastic product. Spoke to the boys at waxit and told them how impressed I was with there products.
I'm always looking looking for high end products.
Pan you have been in this game awhile now and you seem to know your stuff.
Now I'm wanting to give Swissvax Onyx ago.
Like I said I was impressed with your video on the MV Luster.
Does Onyx out shine luster?
Would like to know before I purchase the Swissvax Onyx.
Yes the Swissvax will have slightly more gloss but we are nitpicking here.
Thank you 👍🏽
Thanks Muhammed!
You are AWESOME ! I am sooooooooooooooo intimidated by all of the products and tools. Two quick questions: what is the difference between waxing your car and polishing it? Also, I bought a DA to remove the wax. I must put too much on and it was extremely difficult to remove it so I thought the DA "buffs" the wax.
Polishing the paint if removing defects such as scratches and swirls, remove oxidation, and restore depth and gloss to the paintwork. That’s why they call polishing “paint correction” because you correct paint.
In polishing, they have two categories: compounds and polishes. Compounds are for bigger and deeper scratches and polishes are the finishing stages of paint correction to improve clarity and gloss.
Once you’re done polishing, you now have to protect the paintwork by using your choice of a wax, paint sealant or ceramic coating.
Remove waxes by hand buffing, not machine polishing. If you find it hard to remove, you’re either putting way too much wax on or using a cheap wax.
I hope that answers your questions.

Hi Pan, I found your video when I went looking for help waxing a vehicle. I think I've been applying my liquid wax too thick, because it still looks streaky after I've tried to wipe off the dry wax. Thanks for the info, and thanks for the product suggestions.
I hope you can answer some questions:
1. How heavy is the mechanical waxer? Is it hard to hold for long periods of time?
2. Will this work on my fiberglass RV? It's older and not painted like a car. It has peeling decals on aging whitish fiberglass. Would a paint sealant even work on unpainted fiberglass?
3. I've been told I can remove some stains by buffing them out with wax. So far I've not been able to achieve that by hand. Would the mechanical waxer make a difference?
4. Which of your videos covers removing blemishes?
Thanks for any help you can give me.
Wow can’t wait for the CYBRTRK
Really impressed with the Obssssd sealant. Used it once in the summer and was less than impressed, read instruction, and did a proper IPA wipe before applying and low and behold it works absolutely amazing. Still seeing excellent beading and sheeting 4 months after, including horrid weather from January on in Southern Ontario.
Hi Shawn. Yeah the OBSSSSD sealant is the real deal as far as sealants are concerned. Some of the cars I applied it to are still beading after 7 months including our super harsh Quebec winter that we had, and which is still ongoing. I hate winter! :)

If I am applying wax should that be done before a quick detail? In that other video you mention to use the quick detail while drying so I was not sure when you would do that step if applying wax. Thanks a lot for the awesome videos!
That video was just a car wash tutorial. Not how to decontaminate, polish, or wax the vehicle.
You would wash your car, dry it (it doesn't matter if you use a quick detailer or not before waxing), and then you apply the wax.
I highly recommend that you watch my Detailing 101 series for beginners, where I explain different steps like iron removers, clay bar, polishing, protection, etc. It's super simple once you understand the basics, and your car will look and feel 100x better!

Dear sir,
Please suggest the number wise procedure for compounding polish and wax /ceramic graphene in central indian hot condition .
Here we can buy Maguire's and turtle wax products.
Pan the man, I have applied paint sealant to my truck and now will wax it should use prep spray before applying wax
No prep spray if you already have a paint sealant. Just apply the wax on top.
😊 I have a black car I really what the breaker to be as glossy as possible what is the best way to make this happen. There are so many options from waxing detail spray quick detail spray wet coat ceramic spray graphene spray,
I usually use water sport remover after of you times of rain. Is using wax could be the best option?

Where’s the link for the fireball, I want to try that one
Can we use wax on car plastic part like door beeding etc..
I'ma drop this question here, going to watch this video later; love howl energetic you are.
So, main question that I've dropped on amazon for some pads and products that hasn't yet seemed to found its way back to me.
I see you doing a cross-hatch pattern for liquid waxes, yet I've always "thought" it was a circular wax on wax off that others did.
Does either work or have you found one to work better than the other?
Sorry if this is answered somewhere; speed clicking to add to my watch list.
Don’t get confused about using a cross hatch pattern for ceramic coating application vs circular motion application for regular waxes.
yesturday i finished paint correction of my 2012 honda accord it looks so shiny 😀...one question pan is rag company your favorite microfibers towels?? yoiu have a video about best microfibers or can you recommend one for removing wax.quick detailer.or drying car..i use meguiars magnet towel works great but i feel it scratches my paint....thank you
The Rag Company and Microfiber Madness are my two current favourite microfiber companies.
Is waxing protect from uv rays.
Please suggest name of that wax.
If I buy a used car what do I do so I don’t ruin it by mixing products? Also is it okay to compound and polish and wax/sealant and do it again in a few months except with ceramic coating? Thank you in advance
Thanks again .
Thanks Tony!
Hi Pan, what is your thoughts on xzilon paint protection? I have a few bottles and I did know if I should use it or not.
Never heard of them...
Thank you for the informative video. As a noob, after viewing this video I'm now much better informed of car waxing
Thanks! I recently made a video on the best car waxes: ua-cam.com/video/yuHqg-AbtdI/v-deo.html

Hi Pan, great channel must say love the information you share. I have a question. I have a film hood protector on my 2011 Audi A3. It is beginning to show age and starting to fade. What can be done so bring back a little more shine to it . I have done a test area on the side fender where I also have the film chip protector with the meguire’s ultimate polish by hand. It seems to do the job, but was wondering if there are other options, or procedure that can clear up the film before doing an entire replacement. Thank for your guidance. I assume from your videos that you are somewhere in Quebec, so hello from Laval. 👋🏼
It's always a hard thing to troubleshoot without knowing what exact film brand you have and seeing the state of it in person. You could try a light polish with something like Sonax Perfect Finish and a polishing pad (like Rupes Yellow foam pad) but do this at your own risk.
The best option would be to have the film removed and replaced. And then protect it with a ceramic coating as soon as you get a fresh install.
@@PanTheOrganizer It would be hard to tell you the brand of the film protector as it was an install from the previous owner when the car was 2 years old. I will look up sonax perfect finish, do another try area on the other fender so that i can compare with the one done by meguire's ultimate polish. Where can i find Sonax polish? Thanks for the guidance. I will let you know how it looks on the test area.
Can you wax your windshield and windows with car wax ? I have a friend who did this and says the water beads off
Another great, informative video Pan! 👍 Look forward to the sealant/wax combo video soon!
Thanks Steven!
The new sealant/wax combo video is live right now! :)
Love your videos pan, waxing my car tomorrow 👍🇬🇧🇨🇦

BMW 335d xDrive
Sweet ride!!! I love BMW. (Did you see my BMW 435i xDrive Gran Coupe M Sport in my vidoes?)
Yes mate, I loved that car, what you driving now"
What Brand polisher do you use?

How did you discover my channel John?
@@PanTheOrganizer - was looking for tips to clean my new to me car and caught a couple of your videos. I was exactly what I was looking for and you have a great way of explaining and your presentation is awesome. Thanks for all the time and effort you put into your videos.... it shows.
Hi Pan,
Can you buff and wax your vehicles that have ceramic coating or a paint sealant?
Thnks
Ceramic coating no. Sealant yes.
Hello PAN, Please share link to order Da Polisher I need it to be shipped to India
Hey Pan, what do you think of Chemical Guys butter wet wax, have you try it?
I did. It's ok, but there are better ones in my opinion.
Hi Pan, hello from Dominican Republic I want ask you something and is when I waxing my car I can wax the headlights and the tail lights with carnauba wax or sealant to keep them new and please talk about what do you think about nu finish polish thanks!.
Yes you can wax your headlights and tail lights, just like paint. You should, as it will protect them from UV rays. That's why headlights become yellow over time, when they are not protected. They oxidize. Don't buy Nu Finish, that's low grade stuff. If you want an easy to apply, easily accessible spray on product, check out my latest Turtle Wax Flex Wax review: ua-cam.com/video/b5BjDzItlr8/v-deo.html
Thanks for instructive film and great channel! I'm a beginner in this field but have been using the Simoniz carnauba wax for some time. This has been very hard work, so i wonder, do you know this wax, and if so, do you suggest the same procedure for this as in the video? Or, could the Simoniz be harder than other waxes, so that application requires more attention to moisture, or temperature for example?
Simoniz isn’t that good. For a better experience, more gloss and ease of application, watch my favourite sealant/wax combo video here: ua-cam.com/video/ZtILoTKSXq8/v-deo.html
@@PanTheOrganizer Thanks for quick reply! I will check out the products.
@@PanTheOrganizer By the way. How do you assess the quality of the products you use. For example, in terms of wax's ability to protect, do you measure this more systematically, or is it general impression over time? In case of Simoniz, i got curious, what makes it not so good? If not covered elsewhere, could how to assess products be a theme for a future video?
Hi Pan. I recently saw some Surf City Garage products at my local hardware store. Have you tried any of those out? They are on the pricey side.
Oh, and gloves would you recommend?
I never tried them. I wear black nitrile gloves.
