Hi Sandro, firstly acknowledging the time taken to prepare, mask, apply products and test - much appreciated. I use Gyeon Wet Coat on my alloy wheels including inside wheel arches and black mesh grill on the latest Hyundai Tucson. I find it allows the wheels to remain cleaner from brake dust a lot longer and cleaning is easy, it lasts 3 months. I previously used Car Pro Hydro2 on my previous 1999 Camry where the clear coat had failed on the roof and bonnet. On those 2 areas when applied with Hydro2, it left both surfaces with a satin sheen and some protection. But not as good as the other panels which still had clear coat. Again, thanks for the time to complete the testing and your opinions.
I've been using Wet Dreams for about 3 months now and love it. It costs me about $5-$6 per car so its not cheap, but the finish is very satisfying for a novice like me.
Thank you for your honest opinions. I use Hydro2 after I wash a car for others I detail for. I usually use a snow foam, wash, rinse and then hit the paint again with HYdro2. Then I use Bowdens Soft cloth for drying and then give it a buff with a dry microfiber. Seems to bring up the gloss and water behaviour as you demo here. Bowdens have some really good products now. And I like 303 protectants for inside.
Thanks again Sandro, for another 'quality Car Craft Auto Detailing' informative comparison test. No cutting corners here mate, you spend the time setting everything up, giving each Product its true values. I commend you for your effort and the time it takes. Though, this is just a reflection of the type of work you carry out when detailing. I never gave it any thought myself, but I am going to do the old 'wet panel / apply product / wipe with microfiber / rinse off. I love these 'tricks' you pass on to us
Really great comparison, and I like that you go above and beyond the manufacturer's specs and try it in a few different ways. Just picked up a 100 ml bottle of Hydro2 (enough to do my F150 twice) and I'm pretty excited to try it out. Wet Dreams also looks like an excellent option and I plan to give it a shot as well once I've used up the CarPro stuff. Thanks for a really concise and well shot video! You just earned a subscriber.
Hey I just got myself some hydro2. Did you apply with spray and rinse? Or with spray and wipe and rinse? And can I have like the details on your dilution ratio and how long it sat and if you applied a clay bar to your car before applying. Please let me know.
Awesome video and review and comparison Sandro! I have used Gyeon Wet Coat the old version around 5L of it I think. That needed to be applyied after every wash 3-4 times to build up the performance from it. Then I got it it to last 3 months in the winter months here in Sweden after the last application and when I where no longer able to wash cause of the below the freezing point. So was interested when I got the new version of Gyeon Wet Coat. What I noticed directly where that I got the higher performance from it after the first application. With a slightly longer longevity from it with a higher performance from it until it started to degrade. And also as you noticed a more glossy finish I noticed from it too. The old version of Gyeon Wet Coat got me sharper gloss while the new version got me a deeper and more candied gloss from it. Very noticeble on my Kia cee'd SW with a silver metallic paint. Something that is a benefit with the Gyeon Wet Coat is that I get a great performance from it even when I have just done a chemical decon step and Carpro Reset wash. Have also used Carpro Hydro2 lite and Sonax Spray and Seal and Meguiars Hybrid Ceramic Wax and Turtle Wax Dry N Shine Rinse Wax. Sonax Spray and Seal gives me the highest gloss from these spray on rinse off products. HCW gets me a very high performance when I do a polishing step prep. When I dried the paint the TW Dry N Shine Rinse Wax gave me a crazy slickness from it and the drying towel feeled like it was not even on the paint but flyied over it LOL. But that was gone fast sadly. The method I use when I apply these spray on rinse off products. Is that I wet the paint and 2 sprays per panel and try to mist it on as even as possible. Then I take a damp mf applicator sponge and spread it out on the panel and the larger size panels I use 2 more sprays. And take the PW to thoroughly use the water pressure from it and hit every part of the paint. Dry as usually after this. This method gets it easy to work with and also an even application of these spray on rinse off products. That otherwise can be uneven and splotchy if applyied as recommended. Also I use way less of product when doing this. Just wring out the mf applicator sponge after every panel so it's just not dripping and for me this works awesome. Will try to apply on small sections with the dry method and with drying it off completly. Awesome tips and trix Sandro and thanks for shareing your experience with us!
Another awesome side by side comparison. Not that was really a struck match between them. As I work outside mostly I agree that Wet Dreams is a joy to work with in full sun. The other reason I prefer it is because it's Aussie owned and made.
So you get a more inconsistent application with spray and rinse Vs spray and wipe? Makes complete sense. You trade application quality for convenience. Makes complete sense. When you say they work better with a wipe down, do you mean before rinsing or after rinsing or simply drying completely with no rinse at all? 303 Touchless had exceeded all my expectations for almost a year now in every way possible. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. It's ability to self clean and maintain gloss makes it a winner for daily drivers here in New England anyway. It's amazing on glass. That alone makes it great.
A very good review thanks Sandro. My opinion, for what it's worth is that, spray and rinse method uses a lot of water unnecessarily, which in a hot dry country like Australia is important.
Once again a really informative video even if the results on the white panel was hard to see. The time and effort you put into this is fantastic. I spray in a damp microfiber and apply on wet paint. Then rinse off and dry. I have never had any problem.

Very thorough, real world application thoughts that a customer might try, why follow directions? Interesting that hand application of the base layer produced far better results
Did you notice if wetcoat happens to collect less dust than the others? If not do you know of one that does minimize dust? I live in super dust area in western Colorado it is a desert. I ask because I have been told this by two people. I think would like to run a good reliable sealant then a dust free top coat. Unless there is a better way. Thank you for your videos and your time.
Have you ever tried HydrO2 Foam? If yes, how does that compare to HydrO2 Lite? I also prefer HydrO2 over Wet Coat due the fact that CarPro claims it adds UV ray protection, where as Gyeon does not.
Yes I’ve used Hydro2Foam, it has mild cleaning abilities, but is low on the foaming and suds side of things, it does leave a nice hydrophobic finish but I wouldn’t say as good as Hydro2.
Yes, Hydro2 tends to be quite chemical and environmental resistant, but obviously it also requires a clean bare surface to achieve its best durability.
On an unprepared surface (no clay, no polish, just clean paint) Wet Coat tended to hold onto water, leaving some spots behind. That's just one experience on one vehicle.
Have you tried any of Labocosmetica’s products? Been using their variant of Bathe+ and Wet coat, with satisfying results. Would be interesting to see how they compare to the competition.
I know with Bowden's Own, you need to prep paint (clay bar, paint cleanes, wax/sealant removal) to get best results. Unsure if this was done as the panels you used were custom made ones? Also Bowden's is free of silica. Unsure about the other products there. Good video and info!
I have notice with my car using hydro2 spray and rinse over the paint, but on the windows i applied on wet and buffed dry. The results after only a couple of months the paint surface is failing but the windows are like i did it yesterday, wish now i did the whole car that way. Nice vid 😁
No, I would really stick to the spray and rinse application on wet paint with these products, just repeat it on each section if you want some increased performance.
Hey man, love going through your old videos, even though I've watched them. Really gives some awesome insights. Would you consider doing more Bowden's Own comparisons? Would love to see your opinions on PCR, their different type of snow foams and washes 👌 Cheers again for making great videos
It’s great to hear that, and if you look through some more of my videos you will see a few more Bowden’s Own snow foam and car wash detergent and other products reviewed in the last bit I’m sure I’ll have more coming as well.
Kind of a weird question. If it's raining pretty hard outside and I spray one of these products on my car while it's raining, would that work? What if I spray it then drive around the block in the rain, would it effectively "rinse off" similar to spraying it down with a garden hose?
I think they would work to some effect in still producing at least some increased hydrophobicity. But I also think you’ll perhaps get a patch/streaky finish and the protection won’t last as long.
Sandro would a IPA wipe down be the best way to remove the top layer of painted surfaces, to prep a cars surface ,to get ready to apply these type of products spay and then wipe. :) Also if you already have any type of wax on the surface already can you apply these type of products as a spray and wipe off protection. : cheers. 👌✌👍
Has the word 'NEW' next to the title on the bottle, also the bottle is no longer see through it is a non see through orange bottle. Hope that helps mate.
Great video. Since these work the best with a wipe on foundation, might as well use Megs HCW which is the same application, but more hydrophobic than any of these. Durability should be about the same or better with HCW.
WildDanHibiki I guess it depends where you live. HCW here in the USA is $10(very cheap). As I said before, it has better hydrophobics than any of the ones in the video.
Car Craft Auto Detailing on a side note, I tried 303 recently on a prep panel strictly as a spray and rinse and was very disappointed. Water sheeting was slow and no strong beading. Unreal how much wiping it on/off boosts performance!
Hey Sandro! I’ve been a Carpro Hydro2 supporter for awhile...Other brands have definitely step their game up but in the end Carpro is still King 😁 I wonder if Hydro2 was used at a less diluted solution what the results would have shown....or even at full capacity! 💪🏾😎😁 Thanks for another awesome video Sandro! Cheers mate!
Hey I just got myself some hydro2. Did you apply with spray and rinse? Or with spray and wipe and rinse? And can I have like the details on your dilution ratio and how long it sat and if you applied a clay bar to your car before applying. Please let me know
It is a good sealant, but I personally don’t like it as a spray and rinse sealant as it seems to be largely a waste and under performs. But as I spray and wipe sealant it performs extremely well based on my own testing- I have a review of it on the channel

Great video. Thanks. I was actually considering getting Gyeon Wetcoat for my maintenance washes after applying Cancoat. Out of these products, which one is most cost effective?
I believe Carpro states up 6mths for Hydro2 and 3mths for Hydro2Lite - but that’s obviously going to vary a lot based on preparation, application, use, environment and maintenance.
Hydro2 lite is $30 for 1l on waxit while Hydro2 is $30 for 100ml. With a 1:4 ratio for hydro2 wouldn't the lite version be better value? What am I missing here?
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing thanks! I had a bad experience with 303. I polished my hood, then washed with a ph balanced pure soap. Rinsed. I then hit the wet panel with 303, high pressure rinsed and the water behavior was terrible. Almost as if I put nothing on it. My guess is the soap did not completely remove the polishing oils? I for sure thought it would. I'm confused.
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing maybe an old bottle? The more I think about it, the soap should have removed residual polishing oils enough. Nevertheless, it was strange, as you said.
With regards to wiping a panel down after application, is it necessary to buff it dry? Or simply to spread the application across the panel with a cloth?

So I’ll foam and dwell then rinse and foam and contact wash Which product do you recommend post wash? And seems like spray and rinse sealant then drying is my speed! Thoughts?
They are two very different products so it really depends on your needs. Can Coat is really more closely matched to CarPro CQ Lite as they are both light versions of ceramic coatings, where as Hydro2 is more closely matched to Gyeon Wet Coat as they are both touchless spray and rinse car sealants. So it really depends on what you’re after. Maybe this video will also help: ua-cam.com/video/uKCfElmhYH0/v-deo.html
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing Appreciate your work and reply! How about in comparison with Meguiars hybrid wax or CMX vs Can Coat. I'm novice user and just want good results and value
As Can Coat is still a true ceramic coating, you will find that it’ll be more durable and perhaps perform a little better than both HCW and CMX which are sealants. Can Coat will be a bit more tricky to apply by comparison and it’s also more expensive as you get more applications with the other two, so it again depends on whether you’re after a coating or sealant.
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing This has been very helpful. I will do more research. As a user who hasn't used any of this it's hard for me to see the difference between ceramic sprays and sealants as they both have very similar properties
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing You can get a litre of Wet Coat for the same price as mixing Hydro2 which only makes 750 mls. around £18 or 34 Australian Dollars.
Does anyone know where i can find a good guide on protecting car paint? My question is, can I use these spray sealant after I clay my car AND THEN top it off with Meguiars HCW / TW Seal and Shine? Or is this redundant?
Thanks, and although these spray and rinse products certainly have some great advantages and strengths, I’d still say a spray and wipe for a general sealant tends to have a better feel and finish.

I ask because I have been told this by two people. I think would like to run a good reliable sealant then a dust free top coat. Unless there is a better way. Thank you for your videos and your time.
Car Craft Auto Detailing thank you have you ever used any product that you did noticed collected less dust?
Car Craft Auto Detailing thank you
hey man i love your testing methods and your videos. better than anything else i've seen on youtube. just wish you used other products too lol
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing understood. How about durability, would you say it stands true to its claimed 3 months?
Yes, Hydro2 tends to be quite chemical and environmental resistant, but obviously it also requires a clean bare surface to achieve its best durability.
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing for sure. Ok thank you for the replies!
No I haven’t as yet!
I can really recommend #Purifica, does wonders for coating maintenance.
What about one of those ceramic hybrid sprays
I know with Bowden's Own, you need to prep paint (clay bar, paint cleanes, wax/sealant removal) to get best results. Unsure if this was done as the panels you used were custom made ones?
Also Bowden's is free of silica. Unsure about the other products there.
Good video and info!
I have notice with my car using hydro2 spray and rinse over the paint, but on the windows i applied on wet and buffed dry. The results after only a couple of months the paint surface is failing but the windows are like i did it yesterday, wish now i did the whole car that way. Nice vid 😁
So what is the best method of application to increase performance?
Spray and wipe on a wet panel?
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing Cheers man 👍
Kind of a weird question.
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing I understand, especially the "streaky" part. Keep up the unbiased videos! Aloha!
I wonder if I could work-in the product with a wet wash mitt then rinse off? I don’t have a pressure washer
I use Bowden's own and they are pretty good I must admit. The bottle says spray on wet car. Can this also be done on a dry car?
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing perfect thank you
Sandro would a IPA wipe down be the best way to remove the top layer of painted surfaces, to prep a cars surface ,to get ready to apply these type of products spay and then wipe. :) Also if you already have any type of wax on the surface already can you apply these type of products as a spray and wipe off protection. : cheers. 👌✌👍
11:48 - wont you get lots of waterstreaking with spray on and wipe/spread off manually?
Is there a new version of the wet coat? How can i tell them apart. Sandro the bottle seems to orange now vs clear. Is that the only tel tell sign?
Has the word 'NEW' next to the title on the bottle, also the bottle is no longer see through it is a non see through orange bottle. Hope that helps mate.
What do you think of the turtle wax & meguiars rinse off sealant?
303 released and updated formula at SEMA of their touchless sealant. I would assume the one youre using is not the updated?
So Meguiar's hybrid ceramic wax is basically the best product on the market short of professional ceramic coatings?
Nice review Sandro. Have to say I haven't tried the wipe on method you used on the red panel, I'll try that next time with HydrO2.
Forget using any of these in Sydney come December😭
Ikr 😭
I guess we can use a spray water bottle then apply the products.
@@WildDanHibiki I'm just sticking to ONR rinsless, works for me, don't really have a choice I spose lol
I will soon be trying the 303 applied as a drying aid after ONR. No level 2 restrictions need apply 😊
@@kidoctane Bowdens Own after glow is the best drying aid I've used and works fantastic after ONR.
Great video. Since these work the best with a wipe on foundation, might as well use Megs HCW which is the same application, but more hydrophobic than any of these. Durability should be about the same or better with HCW.
These are significantly cheaper than HCW though. And Sandro has tested HCW in his other videos too. 🙂
WildDanHibiki I guess it depends where you live. HCW here in the USA is $10(very cheap). As I said before, it has better hydrophobics than any of the ones in the video.
Car Craft Auto Detailing when I’ve reloaded HCW as a spray and rinse after initial wipe on/off method, it seems to have taken quite well.
Car Craft Auto Detailing on a side note, I tried 303 recently on a prep panel strictly as a spray and rinse and was very disappointed. Water sheeting was slow and no strong beading. Unreal how much wiping it on/off boosts performance!
HCW in Australia is a little over $30 American dollars.
Hey Sandro! I’ve been a Carpro Hydro2 supporter for awhile...Other brands have definitely step their game up but in the end Carpro is still King 😁 I wonder if Hydro2 was used at a less diluted solution what the results would have shown....or even at full capacity! 💪🏾😎😁
Thanks for another awesome video Sandro! Cheers mate!
Hey I just got myself some hydro2. Did you apply with spray and rinse? Or with spray and wipe and rinse? And can I have like the details on your dilution ratio and how long it sat and if you applied a clay bar to your car before applying. Please let me know
Just curious, where is the Meguiars Hybrid Ceramic Wax? That’s a pretty good product
It is a good sealant, but I personally don’t like it as a spray and rinse sealant as it seems to be largely a waste and under performs. But as I spray and wipe sealant it performs extremely well based on my own testing- I have a review of it on the channel
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing Thank you for your response. I just found your channel. I will look for your video now. Thanks for all you do!
Can you try Nanolex Wash Coat ? One of my fav post wash maintenance.
Have you tried Bowdens bead machine?
Forgot hydroblue sio2!! Has crazy gloss and durability :)
What drying towel are you using here?
Hey I just got myself some hydro2. Did you apply with spray and rinse? Or with spray and wipe and rinse? And can I have like the details on your dilution ratio and how long it sat and if you applied a clay bar to your car before applying. Please let me know
Carpro says the dilution ratio for hydro2 is 1:3 🤷🏻♂️
Making it now, expensive
Not using it anymore , 3 months protection is too low.
Andrea which are you using now?
@@Jayg80 I am using a non famous product but when I saw the results on forums I was hooked !!
It's duragloss 105 ,wich works even better when properly mixed with 601.
Go in my channel, look at the result :) You need to apply by hand but it's super easy and cheap to do.
With 50ml I do a CLA
Great video. Thanks. I was actually considering getting Gyeon Wetcoat for my maintenance washes after applying Cancoat. Out of these products, which one is most cost effective?
I think Wetcoat did well, but 303 seamed to perform best overall and Hydro2 was by far the most economical option with its dilatable concentration.
Can I use it like a "traditional" sealant application method? I haven't hose or water pressure. Bucket only.
All of these brands make spray and wipe sealants so those would be a much better choice
Hi Sandro, is hydrO2 6 months durability or 3 months bit confused could you help me with this please thanks in advance
I believe Carpro states up 6mths for Hydro2 and 3mths for Hydro2Lite - but that’s obviously going to vary a lot based on preparation, application, use, environment and maintenance.
Geon is good for me.
Does the tw seal and shine fall under the same category as these?
No, these are spray and rinse sealants, whereas SnS is a more standard spray and wipe sealant
Hydro2 lite is $30 for 1l on waxit while Hydro2 is $30 for 100ml. With a 1:4 ratio for hydro2 wouldn't the lite version be better value? What am I missing here?
@David Gotelli thanks do you know what ratio lite is diluted down to? Is it 1:4 like hydro2 recommends?
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing thank you. Do you know what ratio lite is diluted to?
Hi Sandro, when you wiped in the sealants, is there any cure time before hitting them with water? 303 has the best water behavior of them all? Hydro2?
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing thanks for the reply, much appreciated!
I was pleased with the performance of Wet Coat V1, but seemed to get through the bottle quite fast. I've got a bottle of the V2 which I haven't tried yet, hopefully with your tips I should see improved longevity & gloss! 🤞🏼
What did he say? Did you buff it or wipe and spray??
@@mitchhardage4447 I'm afraid I can't recall.
But it certainly works well with wiping then rinsing. I think I've used it once or twice buffing it dry. Works well but I think it was ruining cloths.
And for something that doesn't last that long it wasn't worth doing.
@@AmjadJDM did you clay it before? I clayed around 5 months ago. Thank you so much for responding btw you're clutch. I already have Hydro2 bought so if you were me, would you spray and wipe and buff or spray and rinse
@@mitchhardage4447 not on this particular car no, I've always used it as a quick sealant when I can't be bothered doing a whole decon and correction.
Probably wipe and rinse to save your towels. And throw that towel in the wash straight after.
Amazing video.
I have a two month old Mazda cx5
I’m just a homeowner who wants to keep his car looking great while protecting it.
I have a foam gun with hose. So I’ll foam and dwell then rinse and foam and contact wash
Which product do you recommend post wash?
And seems like spray and rinse sealant then drying is my speed! Thoughts?
Thanks and if you wanted to add more protection post wash, then a spray sealant like Carpro Reload 2.0 or Nv Boost V2 could be great options.
Instead of something like hydro2?
In terms of value is the Cancoat or HydrO2 better? I've been looking for a solution that's under $100
They are two very different products so it really depends on your needs. Can Coat is really more closely matched to CarPro CQ Lite as they are both light versions of ceramic coatings, where as Hydro2 is more closely matched to Gyeon Wet Coat as they are both touchless spray and rinse car sealants. So it really depends on what you’re after.
Maybe this video will also help:

What final coat do you use or recommend for a punter with a low budget regarding durability/beading/cost and gloss?
I do not think there is much difference between Carpro and Gyeon, in the UK a one-litre container of Gyeon works out cheaper.
@@CarCraftAutoDetailing You can get a litre of Wet Coat for the same price as mixing Hydro2 which only makes 750 mls. around £18 or 34 Australian Dollars.

I wonder why you didn't include Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic Wax Spray.
the answer is simple, it sucks
Late(ish) to this Channel ........ but anyone know the car exhaust noise at the start?? Sounds familiar

What do you use for a test panel?
It’s sheet metal that I have a body shop paint for me
wonder why Gyeon went to an orange bottle? Mine is clear and matches everything they have. Did they change the product from pinkish to orange?
@Autopuhdistus Clean&Shiny Yes, new one is non clear bottle in orange with a big 'NEW' at the top in silver lettering.
Does anyone know where i can find a good guide on protecting car paint? My question is, can I use these spray sealant after I clay my car AND THEN top it off with Meguiars HCW / TW Seal and Shine? Or is this redundant?
Car Craft Auto Detailing thank you!
You can buy 1 gallon 303 for under $50
Has anyone used wet coat through a foam cannon?
Very good content .so using a MF is recommended to get the best result . Thanks
Thanks, and although these spray and rinse products certainly have some great advantages and strengths, I’d still say a spray and wipe for a general sealant tends to have a better feel and finish.
Awesome video Sandro! HydrO2 has always treated me well 🙂 I do have a side question, as usual!
Have you had a chance to compare Multi X to Shine Supply’s Solution? I would love to know your thoughts as I absolutely love both CarPro and Shine Supply, but haven’t been able to try the two. Would be great to know your thoughts!
