Great video dude. Few questions: 1) I originally thought that the Hydro2 Foam would be a really weak version of Hydro2 Lite. From this video I'm now under the impression that they both bring the same level of protection? Would that be a fair assessment? 2) Can I use Hydro2 foam literally every time I wash my car? Would that be overkill? 3) I've used Hydro2 Lite in the past with reasonable success, but I wasn't a huge fan of the fact I had to do one panel at a time (alternating between tools, rushing, etc). Is it safe to say that another advantage of the foam version is that I could blast the whole car with it in one swoop and then take it all off in one swoop? If that is the case then I would be all over the foam. I see what you mean with it being less likely to streak and bring high spots or whatever too, another added bonus in that it seems to give you a bit more time... Thanks
Thanks for watching, Great questions! 1) Yes, very fair 2) Yes you can. Yes, imo it would be overkill unless you only wash your car once a month or more. 3) With Lite if you do everything really fast and are in an environment where it does not dry fast and your paying attention to where the wind blows any mist onto other areas... then you can do about 1/4 of the car at a time but we hate for anyone to deal with streaking and better safe than sorry so we say one panel at a time. With FOAM I would say you could safely do half a car at a time in most environments as long as surface is really cool and in complete shade. Basically you do not want to to start drying... There are a lot of variables. On a coated car it is going to run off faster and dry faster... I prefer to just apply Hydrofoam directly to a wet mitt and rub it across 1/4 of the car. Hello Corey. I appreciate the detail you guys go to in your videos. You're my 'go to' channel for this stuff. Q: We have a printed concrete drive and I wondered if the hydro foam would make the drive slick / risk people slipping. Do you have any advice on this? Thank you kindly!
Hi Kene, thank you so much! It will depend on the texture of your concrete. If there is any grit to it then it will not make it slippery. Only if it is really smooth like slate or smooth marble or something. You could do a small test by intentionally applying it to a small section of concrete off to the side and testing its slickness if you want to feel confident and be safe and not sure of your grit/texture. Hey! I was wondering why my Hydro2 Lite doesn’t react with the water. It has been on my shelf for over a year and I used it again today, it doesn’t form that webbing effect when i sprayed it on water, and when i rinsed it it only improved a little. There are also white stuff that forms inside the bottle, i think its the ceramic, maybe? Do you have any thoughts about this? Thanks!
If it is not having any affect, it sounds like it has gone bad. Shake it well, then do a test on the panel of a car that does not have any protection on it. If that test confirms it is not working then reach out to who ever you purchased it from for replacement or store credit.
@@SkyCarCare I did a test like that but it doesn’t react very well on the unprotected surface, I rinsed it and the hydrophobics improved but not the best, it got weaker. There are white stuff forming inside, even when i shake it alot, it doesn’t dissolve.
@@Marx_xu Ok, so it is probably expired or gone bad from time, being in the heat, or direct sun for too long. If it is a relatively new bottle then inquire from where you purchased for replacement.
Correct, it costs a lot more for us to ship pre-diluted product from CARPRO Chemicals on the other side of the world :). Bringing it in via concentrate saves us money and therefore you money.
I'm not sure I understand... worried about what? Diluting more makes it easier to use. Diluting less makes it stronger. But if you have a heavily diluted spray and compensate by spraying a few extra sprays then that works just fine.
@@SkyCarCare how about ech2o at 1:10 or 1:15? Or would it actually take the hydro2 off since it’s considered a waterless wash/cleaner? I’ve used it as a drying aide before and wow it leaves a great gloss but idk how well it plays with hydro2 lol
@@JohnD15317 it can but you would be better off if the Hydro2 was cured for 20 minutes or more... So, I guess you could say that if you start the Hydro2 and go all around car rinsing as you go then you come back and start drying off in the same place and go in the same direction then that would be fine.
Good friend greetings, I use hydro2 lite in my car but it gets dirty if it rains little, my question is the following is normal? And if I wash it 2 times x week how long the product itself lasts, I use neutral ph shampoo, in January I want to start my business and to offer the customer this type of product that would be so recommended
Ys, if it rains lightly on a dirty road or car then that is normal because ther is only enough water to help make dirty water. If it rains harder then it is actually less dirt on the car. Hydro2 Lite should give you about 3 months of durability regardless of how often you wash it as long as you wash it at least every other week.
Technically yes you can, however if the pressure is too high relative to the volume of water then you can blow the chemicals around faster than you rinse them off and this can cause it to streak which you do NOT want with this product. @@blackpanda7612
Can hydro 2 foam be used instead of a silica spray for a cermaic coat maintenance every 3 months. Figure it would be easier using hydro 2 foam instead of reload
@@bobbydigital1747 It all depends on the climate. High UV (lots of sun) seems to hurt it more than salt and winter environments. So, in Florida maybe 3 months and winter areas more like 6. Basically, if it is not beading well after washing it with Reset then it can get another dose.
@@SkyCarCare perfect! I live in Northern California and my vehicle is parked inside. I also dont drive it everyday. Jade quartz 4yr ceramic coating was applied last week. Hello Corey, at the 4:00 mark you mention diluting the Hydro2 concentrate version at somewhere 1:6 to 1:10 whereas Hydro2 Lite is ready to go, already diluted from the manufacturer. Would you say Lite is diluted 1:6 or closer to 1:10? I will start with Hydro2 Lite but may decide to move to concentrate later and just want to have an idea of what ratio I would be using with Lite to try to mimic that when I dilute the concentrate.
Hey Corey and team! For an uncoated car, how would applying Hydro2Foam every wash or every second wash compare to applying Reload 2.0 every couple of months? Especially performance wise: gloss and protection?
So even applying HydrO2 Foam that frequent may be overkill, or would make you use more product than you actually need. I would utilize CARPRO HydrO2 Foam in place of reload. Although they are different products you wont need both! If you are already applying reload every couple of months, then just washing with reset will suffice. If you decide to move over to HydrO2 Foam, I would argue you would only need to apply it as often as you have been using your reload. -James
Hey James! I agree the foam is easier to use. But will the paint gloss and stand out as much as compared to reload? FYI, it is a brand new black daily driver I intend to wash weekly or every two weeks. Thanks a ton!
@@samdelien6174 Personally I have a bias towards any of the hydro2 line. I have been using the Hydro2Foam for years and its just offers a glow that I cannot recreate. @@samdelien6174 , Corey here, I feel like nothing on the market makes that deep black look like Reload. For sure, nothing is as reflective as Hydro2 but for pure depth that Reload is insane! Having said all that, like James said - it seems to be in the eye of the beholder.
So couldn't you dilute HydroFoam in say a pump Foamer at 130:1 aka the dilution it would come out of a cannon 9:1 once it goes through a 2gpm pressure washer?

Hi if my car is ceramic coated with Carpro SiC, then my usual wash is with Reset, should i Foam the car with Hydro2Foam to finish at every wash after Reset? (I wash my car every week)
Thank you! Well.... You could try it but I think it will not really foam up if you just add a little Hydro2. I bet if you added it with your Reset in the foam cannon it would work though! (Test first or use at your own risk :):)
Thanks Muhammad! Hmmm in our opinion not really... I feel like the second coat isn't adding to the first and can not really bond or spread over it since the surface is already beading so well and rejecting the second layer. Instead I think you are better off to add another coat in the future or at least wait until your next wash. But that is my theory based on what we are seeing when we test so you could try for yourself if you want.
I purchased a new vehicle over the weekend and live in MN. I want to put some protection on it for the winter and then apply a coating once it gets warm. My questions are these. Can any of the hydro products be applied in the winter, currently 35-40? I have the sample kit with all three versions of hydro, are each of these samples enough to coat a CX-5? Do I need a pressure washer to rinse/apply any of these? I have a garden hose and a foam gun with pretty good water pressure. I can take it to a car wash if a pressure washer is needed but would prefer to keep it at home. Would you recommend any of the hydro products over the other in this cold weather scenario? I appreciate the feedback and any other tips or pointers you could give for this specific situation.
Hi Karl, thanks for watching - here goes with your Q&A. 1 - Yes, all of them can be applied at those temps but I wouldn't do it any lower. 2 - Yes, the sample of Hydrofoam you have could do a few panels. The sample of Hydro2 Lite could so a couple few panels. And if you have a 50ml bottle of concentrate (sample) then that is to be diluted 1:10 which means it makes 500ml! 17oz of product which would do a CX-5 like 10x over. 3 - No, you do NOT need a pressure washer and in fact I do not use one with them. You do need a hose with somewhat decent water pressure to avoid issues. (READ OUR FULL TIPS ON EACH PRODUCT on our website) skycarcare.com 4 - The Hydro2 and the Hydro2 Lite are essentially the SAME product... One has simply already been diluted. So dilute the concentrate as I noted and just dump the little Lite sample in with it.... same thing. You will find all other tips on our website if you didn't watch the video above. Warmest Regards, Corey
I really really love Hydro2 Lite because of it's effectiveness and it's easy to apply. However, i am really curious how many ml does it consume on a car. I used this once but I'm kinda worried that it consumed a lot.
Hi Corey, as a product that can very easily get into waterways given its rinse off nature, are you concerned with the following hazard?: "Harmful to aquatic life with long lasting effects"
Hi Derek, yes that was concerning to me when I read it. In fact that is something that concerns me with ALL detailing products, household cleaners, processing and refinement of a large amount of the materials humans use for our comfortable lifestyles... It is something I think about daily. With regards to this product specifically - I know CARPRO is well known for being excessive with their warnings to cover all every country and environment. I care very much for the environment so am hopeful there is no more impact to this then there is any of the other products that are used by detailers. I expect that it is less than some and more than others.
You wont need wax if you are using hydrolite. And because the hydro2 lite is a stronger product, we would recommend that being your base. There is a chance it wont bond properly if the Wax is beneath it.
Hi Ryan, yes it can but we prefer Hydrofoam for ceramic coated cars that are already hydrophobic for the reasons I mention in the video. It works better on surfaces that are more hydrophobic. Clings to the surface longer, and is more easily controlled application.
I find it essentially worthless for wheels. Doesn’t last long at all. Too harsh of an environment for it to be effective, IMO. It will make for quicker blow drying of the wheels after a wash, however.
technically yes but it is not very well suited. We would not recommend it. You are better off choosing one or the other at a time. On e one is worn off some then you could switch.
The Reload video on our channel goes over Elixir slightly. It's very similar application to Reload. Thats why we haven't done a dedicated video on it yet.
@@SkyCarCare - Nah, you're right. Already covered in the Reload video. For as sophisticated as these products are, they are very simple in overall concept. I just wanted to hear you guys geek out on it a bit. Maybe add some suggestions and tips not already covered here on the tube.
I have been using various toppers for my ceramic coated truck over the last few years (Griots 3 in 1, various "ceramic boost" sprays). They are all very labour intensive to apply and remove. Thanks for posting this video and showing me Hydro2. For regular maintenance washes I use Reset which has worked great for me. My question...Would it be advantageous to use the Hydro2 foam then rinse it off, then use the standard Hydro2 dilution in a spray bottle? Would one product suffice every couple months, or would it be better to use both together as a boost every couple months?
One or the other is more than effective. I have used both in the past but even when I simply wash with Hydro2Foam, I am 100% confident in my vehicles protection.
Thanks for the question and watching! I would say just use the Hydrofoam on coated cars since Hydro2 likes a wet surface and if it is coated and clean then it will not stay wet therefore Hydrofoam is easier to apply since the foam will give you time to work with it. OR IF you are intent on using Hydro2 then SKIP hdyrofoam and just go from Reset to Hydro2. But for sure Hydrofoam is simpler option for a coated car. You can easily apply with a mitt and rinse as you go. Yes, either product will last at least 2 months and only one needed.
@@jorgebarajas471 If the car is not very dirty and you use a mitt with the Hydrofoam then you do not need to was with Reset first. If the car is really dirty OR you are just foaming on and rinsing off then you need to wash before
Hydro2foam is applied with a mitt or foam gun and rinsed off. Elixir and Reload are applied in a spray and wipe. The chemical makeup is different as well.
@@SkyCarCare thanks I put CQUARTZ 3.0 UK on my cars recently. I plan on using elixir as detailed and Reload every so often…to keep up the protection. Is that a good approach or should hydro be part of my process? Thank you
@@tomrakusan1179 If you are using Reload every 6 months and then just detailing with Elixir even once a month you would have more than adequate protection. At that point hydro2 would be overkill!. When it comes to Reload and Hydro2, think of it as a "Either, Or" not something you need to use both of.
So it’s a spray and rinse product. Seems cool. I think you made it sound harder then what it needs to be. There are many products on market like this. So just spray and rinse. When you make it sound harder to work with you will deter people from buying that product. Just something for you to keep in mind.👍🏻

Looking to buy Hydro2 foam and MTM Hydro Snow foam cannon from you guys. Question on dilution ratio when using a foam cannon. I get that you cut it 9:1 when placing it in the jug of the cannon, BUT what setting do you put the cannon at? As the cut ratio coming out of the cannon will be different depending on how much solution you tell the cannon to mix with water. If it's 9:1 in the bottle of the cannon, it's going to be much less coming out of the cannon.
@@SkyCarCare Only issue is, this is assuming the foam cannon cuts it LESS than 1:9 when adjusted for max foam. If it ends up cutting it, say, 1:15, there is nothing one can do but fill the tank at full strength.

@@Marx_xu Ok, so it is probably expired or gone bad from time, being in the heat, or direct sun for too long. If it is a relatively new bottle then inquire from where you purchased for replacement.
@@SkyCarCare Thank you for understanding my concern!
Can we use hydro2 lite spray and rinse on glass and windshield?
Absolutely you can. Just make sure the glass is cool to the touch.
@@SkyCarCare Good to know thanks! As normal consumer I tend to restrict myself to minimum variety of products to keep the regular maintenance simple.
So the hydro2 concentrated is basically cheaper than hydro2 lite I will definitely get the concentrated version
Correct, it costs a lot more for us to ship pre-diluted product from CARPRO Chemicals on the other side of the world :). Bringing it in via concentrate saves us money and therefore you money.
Why wouldnt you just by the connsentrate an over dilute it a bit if you are worried
I'm not sure I understand... worried about what?
Diluting more makes it easier to use. Diluting less makes it stronger. But if you have a heavily diluted spray and compensate by spraying a few extra sprays then that works just fine.
Hi, thank you for the vid. After hydro2 lite application, could elixir be used as a drying aid?
Yes sir it can!
@@SkyCarCare Thank you very much friend, in this case the shampo reset of carpro would help me? With weekly maintenance with this hydro2 product?
@@fernandoperezsolano917 Anytime! Yes, Reset is a great soap for maintenance
Hi great video. Which one do you think last longer? The foam or the lite?
I think durability is similar between the two if applied well
Does Hydro2 concentrate absolutely need to be flood rinsed?
It 100% must be rinsed with lots of water.
@@SkyCarCare Would it be ok to just rinse off Hydro with a pressure washer?
Technically yes you can, however if the pressure is too high relative to the volume of water then you can blow the chemicals around faster than you rinse them off and this can cause it to streak which you do NOT want with this product. @@blackpanda7612
Can hydro 2 foam be used instead of a silica spray for a cermaic coat maintenance every 3 months. Figure it would be easier using hydro 2 foam instead of reload
Yes sir! It sure can! Its great for this
@@SkyCarCare do you think every 3 mo is good? Because I've heard people say every 2mo and some say every 6mo.
Closer to 1:9 ish
@@SkyCarCare I see, I just assumed it would be closer to 1:6. That makes the concentrate even more economical than I had originally thought.
Hi, will the Carpro Descale deteriorate the protection of the HydrO2 lite applied before?
It will have VERY little to no effect on a strong sealant like Hydro2. It will affect waxes, and lower grade sealants however.
Even in a dark driveway it makes the paint glow. Others feel the same way about Reload though so take that for what its worth. And always happy to help :)
-James .
Whatever your method of cutting it, if it is about 1:9 when it hits the paint then it will work.

Hi if my car is ceramic coated with Carpro SiC, then my usual wash is with Reset, should i Foam the car with Hydro2Foam to finish at every wash after Reset? (I wash my car every week)
No need. I would only wash with hydro Foam once every 3 months if you are washing it that regularly. Get the most out of your product.
Would it be possible to mix in some regular HydrO2 with your foam cannon and use it that way? (like a DIY HydrOfoam)
Thank you! Well.... You could try it but I think it will not really foam up if you just add a little Hydro2. I bet if you added it with your Reset in the foam cannon it would work though! (Test first or use at your own risk :):)
Would applying reload first then hydro for maintenance a good choice? Thanks
No sir, you are better off with one or the other at a given time.
@@SkyCarCare isee. Well thankyou again :) enjoyed the video so far. Very helpful :)
Very Informative, Great tip on using the Hydro2 Foam with the mitt .. thanks
Thank you!
Good point about volume of water ! I have a question. Can I apply 2 layers of hydro lite? If yes, can I do it immediately one after another ?
Thanks Muhammad! Hmmm in our opinion not really... I feel like the second coat isn't adding to the first and can not really bond or spread over it since the surface is already beading so well and rejecting the second layer. Instead I think you are better off to add another coat in the future or at least wait until your next wash. But that is my theory based on what we are seeing when we test so you could try for yourself if you want.
@@SkyCarCare Yes, I think you right. Thanks for the answer.
(READ OUR FULL TIPS ON EACH PRODUCT on our website) skycarcare.com
4 - The Hydro2 and the Hydro2 Lite are essentially the SAME product... One has simply already been diluted. So dilute the concentrate as I noted and just dump the little Lite sample in with it.... same thing. You will find all other tips on our website if you didn't watch the video above.
Warmest Regards,
Corey
@@SkyCarCare thanks Corey for the quick response!
I really really love Hydro2 Lite because of it's effectiveness and it's easy to apply. However, i am really curious how many ml does it consume on a car. I used this once but I'm kinda worried that it consumed a lot.
You should not need more than 2 ~4 ounces. Thanks for the question and for watching!

Can the foam go on glass?
Absolutely! Just be sure to follow the tips on our website under description.
Hi, can i use hydro2 lite on top of wax car?
You wont need wax if you are using hydrolite. And because the hydro2 lite is a stronger product, we would recommend that being your base. There is a chance it wont bond properly if the Wax is beneath it.
Can this be used on ceramic coatings?
Hi Ryan, yes it can but we prefer Hydrofoam for ceramic coated cars that are already hydrophobic for the reasons I mention in the video. It works better on surfaces that are more hydrophobic. Clings to the surface longer, and is more easily controlled application.
tricky product. Never used any of the spray and seal LSP's before. Very informative. I have thought about picking one up for my rims.
Hydrolite works great. I use on my wheels. Works good
Thanks Brad! it is a no brainer for wheels!!
@@moneyparhar Thank you for the feedback!
I find it essentially worthless for wheels. Doesn’t last long at all. Too harsh of an environment for it to be effective, IMO. It will make for quicker blow drying of the wheels after a wash, however.
@@orthodox1717 if your wheels are already coated than this would make for a perfect topper every couple months

Can HyroO2 foam be used on top of Reload? Or vice versa?
technically yes but it is not very well suited. We would not recommend it. You are better off choosing one or the other at a time. On e one is worn off some then you could switch.

@@SkyCarCareDo i need to wash with a car shampoo before using Hydrofoam?
@@jorgebarajas471 If the car is not very dirty and you use a mitt with the Hydrofoam then you do not need to was with Reset first. If the car is really dirty OR you are just foaming on and rinsing off then you need to wash before
What is the difference between Reload/Elixir and Hydro Foam?
Hydro2foam is applied with a mitt or foam gun and rinsed off. Elixir and Reload are applied in a spray and wipe. The chemical makeup is different as well.

I put CQUARTZ 3.0 UK on my cars recently.
So it’s a spray and rinse product. Seems cool. I think you made it sound harder then what it needs to be. There are many products on market like this. So just spray and rinse.
Hi Paul, your exactly right! 1:9 is the most we would cut it and if your placing the cannon on a higher dilution setting then cut it less (like 1:4)
@@SkyCarCare Only issue is, this is assuming the foam cannon cuts it LESS than 1:9 when adjusted for max foam. If it ends up cutting it, say, 1:15, there is nothing one can do but fill the tank at full strength.
