I’m black and it bugged me that this was two black men on a world stage. Not blaming Chris at all. No one could cite poverty, youth or inexperience as the source. It was violence from high, unchecked and misdirected emotion. Afterwards, to add insult to injury; Hollywood hands Smith an award.😮
I agree with you wholeheartedly until the final point. As an organizer, it is kinda hard for someone to stand out and say let's cancel that award isn't it? At least my uncreative mind can't think of a way out right now if I'm put to that situation.
@@cnaizhenSure, Will deserved that award. However, after that incident, it should have just been given to him quietly back stage. It would’ve served as a lifetime reminder of what happens when you don’t control your emotions.
@@Soul_Midas Frankly not a great solution though. I don't watch Oscars much at all, but I believe that the best actor award is the biggest prize on that show. I'm thinking from the show producer's perspective. You can't just take the highlight and the tradition of the show out just like that. People will think you lost control of the show and will be questioning you why you are giving the award to Will Smith in the first place anyway. And let's say the media decides to support Will Smith, the organizers will take the hit for oscratizing the victim. This is a career ending label for the producers. And if we are considering canceling the whole award totally, who would dare to stand out and make the call? It is a challenging situation for the show producer, the "easy" and "safe" solution is simply to just carry on as per plan and pray silly things like the standing ovation don't take place.
@@cnaizhenThe most basic problem you are overlooking is that he committed a crime on a live broadcast and was treated differently than the rest of us would have been. There is no argument to the contrary. Police should have come and arrested him immediately. If it was you or I, you know that would be the outcome. Prove me wrong.
@@kphelps1416 Like you said, it happened on a live broadcast. ANY viewers watching TV could have just called the police and no one did it. Are you going to say that all Americans (who have access to the PD call number) watching Oscars do not have morals or lack the capability to identify a crime in happening? Put yourself in the shoes of the producers. Your head is on the chopping board, and you have no idea of the consequences of the actions to take, then what you said is a very hard decision to make at that moment.

And Sandlers crew takes the cake there obviously. But stand up?? 😂 You're delusional if you think Sandlers crew is better. Rock is the only good one of the bunch. And I'm a big fan of them, but they're just bad at standup. David Spade or Rob Schneider is the simple example. Both had a special within the last few years and both weren't that good at all. Maybe they were good 40 years ago. But not anymore.. Swardson, Spade, Sandler, Schneider, James, etc .. Are not good stand-ups. Truly confused how you could even think otherwise.
This episode was fascinating. Two guys talking about their business and how they got there. Both of them made it in a crazy hard business. Nobody gave them their success. Drive, talent, balls and guts made the doors open and the rest is show business history. The cool thing is how both of them bring their friends along for the ride. Sandler has his stand up crew in his movies as well as helping him along the way writing, and changing bits to insure the success of the film and stand up. Rogan established the Mothership. Get the feeling Adam doesn't wanna talk bout the slap...
Or anything for that matter. Celebrities are really f@ckin boring guests.
He's a Hollywood actor and producer. He's not gonna be a rebel and alienate people...yet.
@@MrAitraininghe’s a boring fart.
Adam is my favorite actor comedian. Almos saw him like a father figure. Glad to know he didn’t really enter ever the humiliation phase of Hollywood. Much respect Adam I can tell you respect others.
Just adore listening to people adoring, understanding an art form.
“It elevates all of us.” Love how Joe lumps himself in with real comedians 😂
It's so ridiculous. I want to know who actually made him believe he could be a stand-up.
@@jonhohensee3258
Pauly Shore’s mom. You’ve never heard Joe’s stupid stories about how Mitzi Shore was some kind of otherworldly master at finding incredible comedic talent and only gave her blessing to the best of the best? Of course, Joe was one of these once in a lifetime type of comedians that Mitzi was instantly drawn to.
@@whoisjohngalt4880 Yikes.
@@whoisjohngalt4880I have a theory that she wanted to f**k Joe. Because Rogan was a good looking bloke when he was younger.
So just bigged up his ego. And now His podcast has so much power people are too afraid to tell him he sucks.

When that movie came out, I was literally rolling on the floor laughing my as off when that scene hit ... I did not expect that ! It killed !
Well, that'll be the day when you say goodbye In spite of all the danger
Yes, that'll be the day when you make me cry In spite of all that may be
You say you gonna leave, you know it's a lie I'll do anything for you
'Cause that'll be the day when I die Anything you want me to If you'll be true to me
I think the reason nobody stoped Will is because everyone was thinking : is this part if the show?
It would've been hilarious if he went up there talking all angry and just pretending to hit him.
They were probably just expecting him to grab the mic and say something dumb at worst.
Definatly many were confused and thrown off including myself as to what was really going on. After the slap Chris said “Will just slapped the shit out me and me” the room broke out in confused laughter 😂 what a shit show sad really
That's wut I thought
I think it's more like they were adults going, "let these 2 adults handle themselves."
It's anybody's guess. That's mine.
Adam Sandler is a pure gentleman... Glad he did not talk shit about anyone.
Now I know what’s the JRE. It’s to let the guest hear first hand Joes take on everything and his never ending stories.
Sandler is so humble, calculated & thought about every word before he spoke it. That's extremely difficult to pull of on a podcast like Joes.
Rock rocked his Netflix special! Best one I ever saw
Sandler has to be the most down to earth, not run your mouth about anyone and keep to yourself type of person ever
When are you getting Ricky Gervais on the show Joe?
I really like that Adam shared empathy for Will Smith, despite Will doing this bad thing..... I feel like his response was on-point and didn't feel contrived or forced in any way.
That was a great move. Solid. :)

Really? A man standing up for his wife is something you can’t stand? Interesting.
Bad Boyz 4 grossed 400m, it hasnt hurt him that much 😂 Unlike yourself, most normal human beings don't live their life around a celebrity. The slap happened, people cared for a week then their lives continued. Can't say the same for you though.
@zephyrkhambatta. "The man" laughed at the same mild joke 15 seconds before going on stage and assaulting a grown azz man. And proceeded to party as if nothing happened.

2. If your first line of defense is to slap somebody, especially for your girls behalf, you should probably wear nail polish and a dress before leaving the house too.
i agree.
I love how Joe just can’t see when someone DOESN’T want to talk about something. When someone lets out a long sigh… that usually means “can we move on? I don’t wanna talk about this. Quit talking”
Joe talks like he’s part of that group. Lmao there are levels to this and it’s like Ron Harper insisting he’s with Jordan and Pippen
Yeah Joe is a comedian, and his podcast game is top tier, but Joe's little comedy posse can't wipe the ass of Adam Sandlers group! 💯💯
Brendan Schaub is funnier than Joe Rogan
@@RichRichGil09In what way?? Sandlers group is NOT stand up comedians. There's a reason they only do shows for their fans.. lol Sandler even talks about it on this podcast. And how he only does crowds where they're all just there to see him. So even if he bombs, they won't care. Lol You're delusional if you think they touch actual comedians. Gillis or Normand are EASILY better stand up comedians than anyone in Sandlers crew. EASILY. Now if you wanna talk about comedic acting, that's different.
Sandler sings songs for his act, it’s like standup for children 😂😂
Joe not even Ron Harper he has his own lane & excels in it ,but I doubt he’d ever be in those rooms
Minute 3:00 Adam knows something 😑😒 "he couldn't stop"
You could tell Adam didn't want to talk about it. But Joe kept talking about the clap. AWKWARD...
There comics can try their materials and get noticed. We enjoyed the show at the mothership last month, and liked the vibe and see the freedom of speech in action.
For all the haters who complain about this episode, grow up. Joe , Adam y’all are great.
Nobody gave them their success??? Rogan got a crazy deal from Disney that he can't even explain
Sandler really didn't want to speak on this.
He's thinking You are not about to fu@# up my Netflix deal 😂😂😂
Adam is so humble and has nothing bad to say about anybody❤️
My dude, you honestly put an water mark on a clipped show from another podcast. FANTASTIC.

Someone should have a chat with Joe about comedy like he did with Brendan about fighting.
He isn't that good get over it.
Adam Sandler.... this is probably the best footage of Adam Sandler I've ever seen, him just not speaking on the slap or giving any criticisms to anyone, and even pointing out how you gotta be careful what you say cuz it stays on the internet forever. lol

I don't think Will Smith will regret that shit. He didn't get arrested, he won an Oscar that night got to receive it and give his speech like nothing happened. He's still a huge star and gets to be in huge movies. What's there to regret
Will Smith was known as one of the best people in all of hollywood. A role model husband and father we once thought. He had so many banger movies and many more to come. This man REALLY cares about his image and legacy above all else! But that’s all irrecoverably destroyed. He is only remembered for that slap now. He’s a joke now. The truth came out about his family and the kind of man he is. Even his wife distanced herself and talked shit about the slap. Nobody wants to work with him anymore. Nobody respects him. Trust me he regrets tf out of it
@AK-de7jn he'll be fine. He's still an Oscar winning actor. He just did another bad boys movie. People have done worse and come back
Seriously? Will Smith had been chasing an Oscar for about 20 years, and he ruins his big moment an hour before he gets it.
