He crushed so hard, for 45 minutes, that he just flippantly decided to do another show. And without notifying anyone (there was no time to), he sold out the auditorium again. A lot of people bought tickets again and watched it a second time. I was working as a program manager that night, so I got to see both. He had almost all new material the second round. I would love to see what most comedians think about Joe’s comedy. It would not be pretty. But most would never have the balls to go hard on him. Nobody wants Joe’s beef. He is the LA comedy gatekeeper.
What people don't realize is, he did that LGBT in a car joke because the comedian that did it (I think in Boston), got blackballed and the dude couldn't work for the longest time. That was his way of saying, I'll take the heat for you,; It's getting out of hand.. to make it easier for you. So when the dude popped up saying I did it better and it was his joke, he missed the whole point of what he did for him, all comedians and free speech in general. Had it kept up, there would be none left, cause everything is taboo in PC Cancel culture. He seriously thought Dave had to take a joke from him, when he wasn't working due to when he told it (different of course, slightly). Did he think that was a coincidence? That a national special wouldn't get back to him or people would care less because HE felt he was low on the totem pole and now his fellow craftsman betrayed him? Bruh, people can't look past five seconds, reason why, figure out the truth and thank him.
I don't understand why people Joe keeps raving about him. I saw him live in Dubai and he sucked balls. I went in knowing he's a legend and wanted to see what the fuss was all about. I'm sorry but he sucked. Just riffed on stage smoking the whole time. Didn't even seem like he had any material. Goat?! Fuck no. Pryor, Carlin, Louis CK, Bill Burr are all way better and funnier than him! I dunno am I missing something here?? Name a standup of his that you can say shows his genius?
@Imran VP You lost me at Bill Burr...90% of his shtick is HEY IM LOUD AND HAVE FUNNY ACCENT AINT THAT SOMETHING! The other 10% is mildly funny sexist jokes. Dave is a genius compared to Bill IMO.
@@imranvp You're questioning the greatness of the most validated guy (amongst his peers) in comedy because he had a bad night (which happens, sometimes Dave isn't feeling it on the night and will give a lackluster performance) but it sucks that you had a bad experience. It's exactly what has made him so popular. I also love Patrice O'Neal, God rest his soul. Sam Kinison I got to see twice. If anyone would have slapped back it would be him.
@@GoHomeKamala You're being unneccessarily defensive, Patrice O'Neal was a great voice that liked stepping over the line. Chappelle and Ferguson don't have a line, they are more social commentators than comics, that just happen to be super funny. Carlin was another one who commented on society and his takes were so cutting when pointing out people's absurdities. The thing these 3 have in common is a disdain for the establishment and a willingness to lead a counter culture. They are all rebels in different forms. Their aim isn't even to be funny, its to get their truth out.
My favorite comic of all time hands down. I probably was 10 when the Chapelle Show aired. Introduced me into a new world where I was able to escape and heal with laughter. No other comedian comes close in my opinion. He is the Shakespeare/Jordan or comedy. Dave Chapelle = 🐐
Yeah and honestly not props to Kevin Hart. He was exactly like Chappelle said in his special. He cancelled himself from his dream to host the Oscars, he then went on every talk show to apologize for a joke that was OK back then and should still be OK now. NOW after Chapelle did what he and all others do not have the balls for he goes on JRE to FINALLY denounce cancel culture, after everyone slowed down, after Dave showed him that one can survive it ...
No , it5 makes it more gay Hollywood back scratching. Safe , self censoring scumbag humans talking about how great comics are....its getting old...and they suck.
Dave Chappell is a true legend. Definitely in the argument as the comedy goat for not just being funny but doing it while discussing truly hot button topics of his day. Carlin and Pryor were big voices when it was needed Dave stepped forward when all others were backing away. He had already walked away from the lights but saw he was needed. Greatness is doing what's needed. Incredible respect to Dave and my thanks.
Another reason why Dave is the GOAT, he doesn’t tell the same jokes years after years. His jokes are original , doesn’t write. It’s all from the heart. That’s a LEGEND move.
Do you really think he comes out and tells a LGBT bit off the top of his head??? This video is talking about Chapelle trying out jokes he's written in a small comedy club to see what's getting the laughs and what to get rid of. That being said he's the GOAT for sure
Got to see Dave in Seattle last night. Completely sold out. In fact at the end dave thanked everyone and said that was the highest grossing comedy show EVER. If you got a chance to go see Dave and Chris, DO IT!!
@Brian G no doubt! It was so rejuvenating. Having people of all walks of life gathered in an arena enjoying high quality entertainment. And just laughing together. It was really cool. And your right, Chris stole the show. He was great. Really hoping a netflix special comes out of this tour.
that's because he has a warmth to him, he has some magical power where he doesn't have to use that angsty-angry edge that so many comedians have, it's like he has this light inside him and you can trust his story telling. it's just brilliant idk how to describe it

*REMEMBER, Rotten Tomatoes has Dave Chappelle’s Sticks & Stones Special at 35% on the Tomato Meter but an audience score of 99%* If this doesn’t show you how much the establishment media hates Dave and loves their unfunny PC comics such as Hannah Gadsby (100% score) and deleted the audience score for her, then Idk what will open your eyes up...
I think everybody with half a brain already knows that, and have known it for years. The people that disagrees wont change their mind anyways, atleast thats what i think.
Rotten Tomatoes is vile poison. ALmost everything on that damn site from the critics is a frickin lie. On top of that it's been proven on several occasions that low audience scores for big budget movies are often lower than they appear but they force the scores up.

Rotten Tomatoes is a great tool, I usually side with the critics, however I loved sticks and stones and wasn't a big fan of Black Panther.. What I love about Dave Chappelle, is that even though he could have sold out like many have done, he instead took a bus across the country doing improv shows. He's a man of his word and I respect that.
"He knows who he is, I mean he is...unapologetically himself." We should all strive to be this part of Dave Chappelle. The freedom he lives, the respect he earns within the people who know him.. be strong in who you are and know yourself. I never thought a comedian would inspire me more than any president or public speaker, but here we are.
Kevin and Dave represent an interesting dichotomy if you think about it. Both are funny guys (I prefer Dave but Kevin can be hilarious as well) but Dave does his own thing, is not afraid to go against the flow and say what he wants, Kevin has sold out and towed the line for security and money. They have rewarded Kevin for being a good boy, all the movie contracts etc, but when some old tweets got dug up by the cancel artists, Kevin did not hesitate to bow to the mob to save himself. This video undeniably shows that Kevin holds some resentment towards himself for not having the stones or wherewithal to do what Dave did.
Did you see that special he just dropped? It wasn't very funny at times, but it was definitely Dave at his rawest, Dave at his most vulnerable, and Dave ready to unleash. Especially on Candace Owens.

As an English guy, I'd agree - Dave is the greatest American comedian of our generation. I love his sense of comedic freedom and his jokes bring that sense of funny.. Comedy is universal. I don't care about his colour. Guy is funny and makes me laugh and for that I like him. He's the man.

This is what we need to see. In a world where everyone is just attacking eachother and we’re losing legends left and right we need people to just show praise and respect the greats while they’re still here to hear it.
I met Dave once at a Starbucks, sitting there waiting for a friend. I didn’t want to bother him but he just walked up to me and said “What’s up man?” I said not much and asked him what he was up to. He was in gym clothes and the fanciest headphones around his neck I’d ever seen. “Just got done at the gym...” I asked what he was listening to and he said “I’m listening to some fightin’ music!” and did a punching gesture. We exchanged end to conversation pleasantries and he just walked away. Ten years or so later and I still don’t know what “fightin’ music” is, but I’d love to know. For context, the Starbucks was in Ohio fairly close to his farm and where I lived. I also had just binged all of Chappelle’s Show only a few months prior. Surreal shit.

Dave is a legend not because I like every joke he ever wrote. To me his legacy is standing up for what you believe in. He had at one point what every comedian aspires for with the world in his hand and left it to remain loyal to himself and the ideals of justice. In this era of sellouts, liars and people scared to be themselves the man said I'm going to shut it down. That takes courage. Most would have compromised. That's his legacy.

So natural!! Mind watching a video I made on chappelle. Means a lot:))
S Z no but I’m sure someone will 👍🏼
There's a three and a half hour recording on UA-cam of him doing just that
He is funny when he does look at the def comedy jam reunion
Who Said That LMAO 😂.
Aside from his legendary exit and reentry into comedy, he’s also just basically the funniest guy I’ve ever seen. Just plain the goat.
Dave’s latest The Closer on Netflix shows what a genius he is
True that.
Empathy is bisexual. It goes both ways.
What an amazing analogy, right?
nonsense.......he is a manipulator of the times...
@@jadezee6316 every comedian is a manipulator of the times. Dave is the best at it.
Totally. A comedian that can make me laugh and cry in the same special is a genius.
Mad story that mate
“I’m listening to some fightin’ music!” I heard that in my head in his voice. Love that story.
I was wondering if you were from Ohio, represent. ✊🏾
Haha thanks Sheck. So legit
I want to but i cant
I must have watched Dave's special "Killing Me Softly" 20 times. He's been my favorite comic ever since.
I'm younger I wasn't even a teen when Chapelle show was out. 2016 I was 13, 1st comedy special I ever watched was Chapelle the Netflix one. Watched a ton I mean a ton of comedy since Chapelle is still the best I've seen.
Dave is my favorite
Im not into comedy shows that much so can someone tell me whats Daves best show ?
“Gotcha Bitch” lol. Love that special
imagine being a comedian who can't be cancelled, thats Dave Chappelle . Most comedians dream to be on that level, thats basically what Kevin Hart is talking about
Didn't they try to cancel Kevin Hart?
Kikuye lol many times, the problem with trying to cancel dave is that he honestly doesn’t care. you can’t cancel someone who genuinely doesn’t give a fuck. kevin hart is arguably the most well known comedian ever in the whole world so he has to care about what’s being written about him because there are so many eyes on him, that’s not the case with chappelle
@@stefanogasasira9406 Dave does care and he talks about the issues honestly. That's the difference. You can't cancel someone that acknowledges that there's a conversation worth having and he may not always be right.
kant yeah true but i mean dave has said that he never feels bad about what he said but he feel bad if he makes somebody else feel bad. but comedians like kevin hart have to make apologies if he offends many people because of the platform he’s on
Yes, we listened to him say exactly that. Thanks?
Dave is a legend not because I like every joke he ever wrote. To me his legacy is standing up for what you believe in. He had at one point what every comedian aspires for with the world in his hand and left it to remain loyal to himself and the ideals of justice. In this era of sellouts, liars and people scared to be themselves the man said I'm going to shut it down. That takes courage. Most would have compromised. That's his legacy.
Amen brotha!
Totally agree. Has anyone else ever walked away from $50mill on PRINCIPLE? People sell their souls for 1% of that cash
Perfectly said
couldn't agree more bro , its all about being true to yourself . cheers hermano
You make a lot of sense bro
When is Dave Chapelle coming on the Joe Rogan podcast????
Upvote!!
I'm not sure if he wants to I remember hearing something like that while back but if it is gonna happen it will be when joe moves to spotify, hell probably have some massive guests when the switch happens
He`s already had several MASSIVE guests....I just dont think its Dave`s scene...he does very few interviews already.
i have a feeling he'll have some biiig guests lined up for the Spotify move
Man, I bet one day he'll just randomly show up. Joe will probably have someone scheduled already. Bet Dave ends up doing the interview.
A man who truly loves his craft.
I've never heard Kevin talk this slow before.
he kept talking in long circles too lol
Joe and him smoked a nice blunt before the podcast
kev is high, or coming down...
He only talk fast when he is trying to be funny. This is how he talks normally
Kevin just say it...............he ur daddy heheheheh big up kevin
Daves most recent Netflix special is a perfect example of everything Kevin said. God bless Dave Chappelle
7:00 imagine going to the comedy cellar when Kevin Hart, Chris Rock, and Chappelle all perform for free lmao
ua-cam.com/video/Ntcsu1XDhHw/v-deo.html Here’s a snippet.
That would be amazing, three legends in one place, one of which is Dave fucking Chapelle
I wanna live in that world
Easy mode since Patrice wasn't there.
All except Chris Rock he isn’t on their level at all.
Dave is living life to the fullest he is living for himself and in an unselfish way , he is pure and absolute icon and all around great human being!!
The blind black KKK member is one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen
It’s one of the funniest thing ANYONE has ever seen.
Clayton Bisby
*cletus jrs head explodes*
Lol he bblak but he don know it 😂😂😂🤣🤣
Easily the funniest thing I've ever seen.
Dave’s also just a solid person. The last time he was in Milwaukee he donated all of the profits from his shows to the miller brewery shooting victims families
damn didnt know he was in milwaukee recently. he loves performing at the pabst theater btw. he said in an interview that it was one of his favorite spots to perform.
And there it is.
Chappelle is the Muhammed Ali of Comedy right now.
Or the michael jordan of it yea
Fun fact : when dave chapelle was 2 he was with muhammed ali ! They have a picture of that
Charlie was the dude
Muhammad Ali had the downs at the end of his life. Dude had no idea what was going on.
Or he's the Dave Chappelle of comedy...your comparison makes no fucking sense.
Dave is the freest black man in America.
I met Dave once in 2012 at a show in Toronto. He looked at me and said “What up Slim?” and walked away.
I was a 300lb fat white guy!
The end
😂😂😂😎
that must be some kind of meme
The fact that you added fat like we didn’t understand when u said 300 lbs just made me so angry
Dom C Not all 300lb people are fat. Check out mariusz pudzianowski, at one point he was 313 lbs and shredded. Most strongmen are actually more than that, less shredded, but still not what you would call fat
Bruno G somebody’s self conscious
