I thought the ST150 gearbox does not have a synchro for reverse that’s why it can crunch some times. I know that putting it in third before reverse it never crunches
You’re right reverse is normally a spur gear in gearboxes, just on other cars I’ve owned haven’t really crunched I’ve just found fiestas in general just crunch for some reason
Great vid fella, just one note from me. When running at normal temp, your temp gauge should be rock steady at 90oC. With the thermostat stuck open it doesn’t get much past 70oC.
Thanks buddy and that’s correct mines intermittent will only do it sometimes hence why I need to change it just Ford have back ordered them for now lol
Hello mate I will be doing an alternator as mines getting noisy but I’m not sure on when if I’m honest got other jobs prioritised at the minute but the coolant temp sensor will be on the right hand side of the engine near the coil pack you’ll see a large coolant hose going to a housing the sensor will be on that 👍🏻 hope this helps
Can you put a link of what thermostat you could recommend and a link for power steering relocation kit? And the boot popper off eBay? Also how did you link the power steering to a cooler what did you do?
I’d advise a genuine Ford thermostat personally They’re not expensive at all don’t have a link as I’m struggling to get one as they’re on eBay normally fed up with driving to the dealers 😂😂 Power steering relocation kit: www.jamsportstore.co.uk/collections/ford-fiesta-mk6-st150/products/fiesta-st-mk6-power-steering-relocation-kit Boot popper www.ebay.co.uk/itm/183502477056 So I bought a 13 row universal oil cooler off of eBay www.ebay.co.uk/itm/332426326103 Fitted 1/2 inch bsp 90 degree fittings www.ebay.co.uk/itm/352698312293 Get some universal 1/2” silicone hose Remove be front bumper and drill into the crash bar and nut and bolt the cooler run your lines and that’s that, I’m gonna get some brackets and mount mine differently as I’m fussy but this way works fine had it on there for quite a while now 👍🏻 hope this helps any questions please ask

1st gear then reverse no crunch.👍
Wait a few seconds before engaging reverse, don't try and go straight in it from a forward gear.
Mine has every problem mentioned 🤣 no seriously great upload some useful information 👍

You don’t want to have it running hot before max temp?
I want it running at around 90 degrees which is optimum temperature, not good to run an engine too cold
