  • Thank you for visiting my video♡
My daughter turned 10 the other day. We celebrated her at home on her actual birthday. She got many clothes and was really happy.
Following weekend, we went to Tokyo for shopping and visit teamLab Planets for the first time. She has been wanting to go there and we really enjoyed there. I was surprised that so many foreign tourists there.
I hope you'll enjoy our little get away video.

I'm glad your daughter had a fun birthday trip. In the US, many elementary schools have sports day but we do not have fireworks or food stalls. Many (most?) parents don't attend because they are at work. Some people here take high-paying jobs which require long work hours. Others take a job which let's them pay the rent and eat but does not require them to work evenings or weekends. Those people want to spend more time doing something they love like sports or fishing or being with family. I think Americans feel that they can decide for themselves if they want to pursue financial success or personal satisfaction. I love that your video ended with the frogs singing.

Hey, Leah! Yeah, I think American people are good at figuring out what kind of lives you want. I think Japanese tend to think that having fun is not good, so that we try to work hard. And in the cities, they need more money than people like us (in the countryside), so I think they are sometimes no choice but to work long hours. The frogs concerts are getting quiet as summer is approaching. I will enjoy the changing of the seasons.

ありがとございます!I appreciate your take on simple abundance and richness. You are of course right to wash chicken and about many other things besides! You have a nice family and you've made a lovely home!

Hola Tomomo! As always, thank you very much for your video, first of all, I want to give to your daughter a big virtual hug for her 10th birthday, 🎂 what beautiful details you have had with her, and the trip to Tokyo, I am amazed at how clean the toilet was on the train, all pristine. And what beautiful things she have chosen as a gift, I like her sandals for me, I would like to buy them in my size. 😍
And I really like your bracelet with the big pearls, very original.
Regarding school sports, there is a physical education subject here in school, gymnastics and sports are done in general, but there is no festival like yours, at least I haven't seen them as such, but I don't have children and I don't know if now there is something like that in schools.
About the nostalgia that can be caused by the fact that your children are getting older and perhaps soon they will not want to travel with their parents, I think that it is a cycle that you have to go through, they get older and it is a different period, all that remains is to enjoy from day to day and be thankful for the good times and treasure them.🤗
It has caught my attention that in the celebration of your girl's birthday there were Chupa chups, I don't know if you know that it was a Spanish invention, it occurred to a Spanish candy making company to put a stick in a candy and they succeeded in sales, also the logo was a design by the Spanish painter Salvador Dali.
About the statue of the fallen angel, it was placed in that location because it was just at 666 meters above sea level, and the number 666 is associated to de devil, but it is not relatet to the place itsef. The sculptor choose the location because its height matches with the 'devil number'. About why the angel became evil, it is difficult to know because there are not clear passages in the old testament of the bible, something related to rise up against God.
At the book fair there are books in many languages, you can find everything, that is why it is full of people every year, if you visit it one day, surely you will be able to get something nice or interesting.
On the dessert "arroz con leche" it is sweet, and the rice does not remain dissolved, the grains of rice are noticeable but very soft, they melt in the mouth, very rich and simple.
Last weekend we went by car (you always have to take the car here because we live in a small town) to a cafeteria for breakfast, we do that on Sundays, not all Sundays... and we love going to a particular cafeteria where you are able to read newspapers in “paper” (hardcopies style is getting hardly these days) and to drink coffee with milk and “porras”, which are similar to “churros” (very fashionable in South Korea, I think...) “porras” are made with a large machine and “churros” are made with a small machine, “porras” come out in the shape of a large pastrie and then it is cut, while the “churros” come out as a pastrie with stripes, both pastrie are fried in olive oil.“Churros and porras” are very Spanish, typical here.

I send you a big hug for you, your family and the kittens... also for the frogs.
With much love from Spain, Silvia😘

Hola, Silvia! Thank you for writing me again and thank you for the birthday wishes for my daughter♡ I told her that you sent her a virtual hug and she was so excited about it. You know, we don't hug each other so often in Japan, other than family. Maybe many people don't hug to family either ( only they hug their children are small).
Yeah, she chose the trendy platform sandals and they are so cute right? Recently she's obsessed with black and white so many of her clothes are only those two colors! (and sandals are the same) The bracelet I wore was cute too right? It is fake pearls (yeah, too big to be real one), but still I think it is beautiful. I got it from GU (sister company from UNIQLO) more than 7 years ago, for about 4 euro😂.
And again, you are so knowledgeable and thank you for teaching me many things.
I didn't know Chupa chups are from Spain! We love it so much.
I saw porras and WOW! I want to try some. It looks so delicious. And I was surprised how big it is😆. Do you share to finish it with your family? Maybe you can choose the size...length!?
It is always fun to talk to you.
Have a wonderful weekend with your husband!
      Love♡tomomo
