COULD YOU DO IT?? Anyone who's ever seen my studio knows I would struggle lol
For anyone who wants more of Sibu!! We did a full interview vid too!! ua-cam.com/video/c8CQcyOCk90/v-deo.html
Show your love to Shibu down below!!
I think i would go crazy with so much white.😂😂
I can't do this: I like collecting too much
I'm a truck driver. I could probably do it
Why would you give a person who don't want more stuff... stuff... He looked so awkward receiving that empty paper bag... XD.
@@nulnoh219 - Umm, it was a symbolic/gag gift.
That closet reveal was simultaneously anticlimactic and surprising at the same time
lol I died
@@TokyoLens I almost feel bad for him.. maybe I don't even have to, but I just... do xD
@Somtric I wouldn't! He's clearly put a lot of thought into his collection of items and enjoys his clutter-free space and freedom of movement 😊
I laughed out loud xD literally
Schrodinger's closet.
Is nice to see that he knows what he likes and doesn't deprive himself of it. He has exactly what he wants and needs .
I think we can all learn a little from him~
He's deprived of relationships / companionship at home...
Not judging...
His place of solitude...
@@Dauntless.steadfast.fortitude And thats beautiful in many ways! If you are in peace with yourself it's really nice to live the way he lives. So i guess if people are afraid of this solitude/not at peace with yourselves/afraid of "loud" silence, then you are 100% right on that :D
ikr my favourite part was that he had a game counsel like everyone else haha
This fellow is made to be a zen Buddhist monk in the future. Hes already well on his way.
Hates curtains but loves projectors. This man is something else.
right?!
xD
he probably uses the daylight outside his house and uses the projector at night
and he probably bench presses 300lb with all that protein and weight lifting gloves
@@astroboirap but pushes the handful of items around on a cart
i grew up with multiple hoarders in the family, a minimalist lifestyle really draws me in, truly love that he's able to enjoy his space the way he wants to
i bet he s lonely, and longing for someone but is afraid of rejection, hence his view on relationship that could be hard to find due to his lifestyle.
😂 Then u didnt learn nothing. This is the same thing,in opposite character 😂 Is not funny even, but i prefer them, cus they are clean, not conflict and dont make dirty in the buildings. And also no bugs because of their mess
This comment is underrated, I definitely feel for you ❤
@@MangInteresadoI think it’s all the way around. Having such an empty space forces you to confront yourself without distractions. He’s happy with himself and I hope he finds the right person for him ❤
@@DaysAreForgottenBaby well could be just like the late extreme minimalist STEVE JOBS who had only a lamp shade, stereo, a cup for tea in his mansion. then he met a lovely women who understood him. Steve Jobs also wore black clothes with same style everyday.
As someone who keeps pieces of broken stuff for an eventual future where I would need it, I truly respect minimalists.
*Stares at my gigantic box of craft bits for 'future' projects. I'd SURELY need that twine from that cute gift I got years ago...* Hahaha
@@BakaNeBaka Ikr! I'm staring at the packaging of a gift from last year right now as I'm typing this haha
When I give away some old pants I feel minimal 😂 but this earns my respect
You’re like my husband. An engineer, he has scraps of plastic, metal, wire, old cylinders, anything he feels he may need 2 decades down the line 😂😂😂😂
Haha! Cute. Relatable. I love how you used self-deprication to express yourself (in the most gentle and humorous way) while also not trashing the opposition. I wish more people were like you. I was gonna post something about how extreme minimalism can be just as pathological as hoarding, and then read your comment and was like "why do I need to say anything?" Thank you.
He’s got really all the essentials still. He even thinks about emergencies and has supplies for that as a minimalist
really impressive

What's not to like? He's clean, neat, organized, clearly knows what he wants in life, interesting, funny, passionate & consistent with his hobbies, creative, tech savvy, geeky, which I like... ya, I can see many ppl liking him as a bf/husband. Just the minimalist part is a bit difficult. But hey, rooms n items can be divided n she can have her section & he'll only have to mind his part. It could work if both compromise a bit.
Also, sincerely hope he sells his shirt & shopping bag. They are kinda cool.
As a woman I find him attractive. I think he’s creative, independent and has very clear ideas. Having an empty home forces us to look at ourselves, whether we like it or not. I find it fascinating and I don’t think he’s lonely at all. His shirt is the best creation ever 😳
@DaysAreForgottenBaby ya, I agree. But unlike him, I do enjoy collecting "useless" trinkets, so I just respect his lifestyle, knowing I can't/ won't do it. But those that can, might find him to be an ideal partner.
Many think of minimalism as depriving, but what he has is a lifestyle that embodies his personality which is a win.
I see it as a very healthy form of modern living it’s very inspiring for when I have my own place
@@Gigi-ho2qk This whole video feels ill. Respectable in a way sure but this looks like mental health issues to me, I don't know.
i see it like a sad place :(

Kind of strange certainly, but actually designing his own gear to be even more optimized pushes him over into brilliant. I could use a shirt like that.
we could all use that shirt for sure!
@@TokyoLens I want a shirt like that!!

The apartment appears a lot bigger due to the minimalist approach. That closet reveal was like who the villain was, and you didn't suspect them.
LOL gotta love that closet
best comment 😂
That is true!
I live in a 40 sq ft and with only 212 items total it indeed feels too big. Problem is, at least in EU, there is no other option. 20 sq ft or less houses are rarely available or non-existent, so you are forced to pay more rent. This is why people end up hoarding.
His life seems so relaxing and calm. I like the way he speaks, he seems very content and comfortable.
He's not living in that apartment, He's haunting it
😂
That Apartment lives in him
Lmfaoo 🤣
😂😂
It sounds like his sense of minimalism allows him to really focus on the things that give him joy. And I'm sure it's an enjoyable hobby in itself.
Is it that the minimalism allows him to focus on the things that give him joy or that focusing on minimalism, in itself, is the principle thing that gives him joy?
Or it just so happens that his three main passions (design, samurai theatre and gaming) don’t necessarily require a large amount of items at home or completely mesh with his love of minimalism. For example, if he was an avid golfer, he would probably be conflicted given a full golf set has tons of items (14 clubs, a bag, balls, tees, etc).
I’m interested in where he keeps his tools and equipment (rented workshop space maybe?) especially if he is designing and making his own clothes and items.
Is wearing a wig considered a hobby???
@@bzomeful yes, somehow it seems a “fad” because it’s self indulgent and one has to make a special effort to be minimal which itself defeats the purpose
I don't think I could live with that little stuff in my space, but the products he's developed are really cool and handy
really impressive...

What an interesting and innovative man. 13 minutes to pack up house...that is impressive.
Honestly, he's so cool. To know what you want and need in life, and ACTUALLY having what you want and need in life- Yeah, it's something I definitely aspire to be.
Tons of respect to the man for being the main user of his inventions, if you dont like what you create how can you wait someone else do it for you, a living example
Crazy talent!!! 🤯🤯🤯🤯
I'm impressed tbh. at first I thought its gonna be like a boring life but when he showed his camera gear, Nintendo switch, his hobbies, his products, that I'm convinced he is really enjoying his life with minimal items. Also he considers the idea of having a family with that kind of lifestyle and he is also aware and fine if he ends up growing old alone.
True minimalist
Such a lovely, humble and talented guy
I also used to wear black, but after a long time the lack of color seemed depressing to me. The consistency of this minimalist is truly impressive. I think his clothes with many pockets are fantastic, very practical.
I've started transitioning to a medium grey + accent color. It blends even better than black (esp. with different shades of itself) and looks a little less gloomy.
I also want a minimalist wardrobe, but with color. I'm thinking I'll make myself some black paper bag waist pants and then for other things incorporate only my favorite colors.
Same...I transition to navy blue and deep purple after wearing black for a long time.
lmao what is this
An extreme minimalist who still is prepared for emergencies?
With a bug out...tube?
I am impressed!
I think my desk corner alone has more stuff than he has in his apartment. That's mad impressive that he even made his own things to assist in keeping the item count down while still remaining convenient
lol yea mine too~
Right!!?? My 5 year olds table has more crap on it than that man has in his entire house 😅 Crazy
Actually he has like 100 smaller items under the wig he is wearing!!!
I am in awe. I have met some really minimalist people, but Shibu has them all beat. He makes them look messy. I was blown away when he showed off his hobbies and that they fit in those small bags. He even has an extra controller! And that shirt?! I was already admiring the pockets then he goes on and sticks a Macbook into it. And that little computer that has a keyboard and a controller.
I am likely his direct opposite. I see an empty space, I must fill it. My hobbies? I will have every equipment needed, lol. Another great video, Norm.
Glad you enjoyed it that much!
That MacBook practically disappearing into the shirt pocket was like some magic trick. I wonder how it feels weight-wise.
Lmao I think he might have been actually relieved that the gift was just the paper bag 😆
I laughed when he said "I will use it for trash"
I thought it was going to be something consumable like a fancy Miyazaki mango 😂
I liked the fact that he loves sauna, warms a Finn's heart.
He may be a minimalist but it's clear he's got everything planned out to exactly what he wants and needs. It's actually kind of refreshing. I don't know if I could live the minimalist lifestyle but I could certainly cut back on a lot of things that I own
My man said one of his bags was packed and messy while in the midst of showing me levels of organization I've never even dreamed off 😂
Literally only half full
Also, I love the bags!
I couldn’t live on a home without colour. Colour gives me so much joy!
Colors are very visually distracting and tiresome to me. I prefer clean, plain & homogenous surroundings without any colors to break up the lines. White spaces allow me to relax and think.. White also enlarges a space.
Same. Huge white spaces gives me anxiety, I can't help but feel like I'm in a hospital or the afterlife 😂 Nature is not white and streemlined and I want to fell like outside is inside 💚
I agree, but if the walls were in a nice, vibrant colour, then the space would be nearly perfect.
You Can be a minimaliste and use a lot of color
For me I think if I were to have a blank space like this it would mean I'm spending most of my time outside and my home is just a place to rest.
Amazing. Im a hoarder and compulsive shopper and i admire this man minimalism
As someone who move very often locally and overseas, I have to say I totally understand his approach in life. When you move and packing up, you forced to realize how much your things are weighting you down. I am farrr from being a minimalist but every time I buy new thing I have to really think whether I really need it and will it enrich my life in any ways.
Same, that I why a love moving as every time you get to re-evaluate if something is worth keeping and I have noticed that after every move I keep less and less stuff. Having less gives you so much freedom.
Although he calls himself minimalist it is interesting to see him having unusual items that he’s really into such as many kinds of spices, projector (and I think he has defuser too?) The way he lives must give him lots of inspiration! Thank you for the interesting video😆
it was really interesting to see exactly WHAT items he has attached to~
It's why I did the whole second vid just interviewing him and linked it
His whole mindset was so different from me!!
His inventions are so interesting! He really views the world in a whole new way!
It looks like the projector is his ceiling light, too. So two functions in one device. Clever.
I think the best gift to give a minimalist is to ask them where they wanna go or where they wanna eat and take them there. No baggage needed, just bring them and yourself and have a great time. You gift them a memory. 🎉🎉
I aspire to this man's level of organization and resourcefulness
While I definitely don't think I could live that kind of lifestyle, it was really cool seeing what items and gadgets he keeps in his daily life! Also, that jacket he made is so cool!
incredible right?!
I am an artist and maximalist with adhd who loves colour and the idea of living here makes me desperately unhappy 😅 however i love his efficiency and that he's designed so much of his own stuff!! I dont like waste and think people over consume, too. So i really appreciate that about him. its amazing how different people can be!!
Yeah some people just like the room a bit empty, to clear your head
He is so stinking cute! You can really tell he finds a lot of pride in keeping his space organized and small. I hope he can find someone who shares his passion but kids need stuff so that may be a issue. His bag coat is brilliant too.
I'm Japanese.I'm big fun of his!
I watched most of his youtube.
But It was first time I'd seen anything outside his room.
He is the most popular among Japanese minimalists.
Everyone imitates him. He's very influential.
I'll check out your other videos too!
Thank you for sharing the great video!
ほんとに、ありがとうございます!
Really! I hope he finds a girl who watches him and likes that style too!
I don't think I could live like that but when I look around just my room... there really is a LOT of stuff that is just sitting there and hasn't been touched for a long LONG time.
And that folding magnetic shopping bag is a very cool idea.
His designs and vision are amazing. Quite a unique and wonderful view of life. Thanks for sharing this story!
Big respect for this brave man, i’m with you, keep follow you dreams🎉
That shirt is awesome. Love the hidden storage for necessary stuff on the go
A wonderful piece of clothing indeed :-)
I got a well-needed laugh that he got stopped at the airport for lack of luggage while wearing this. Makes a person rethink the concept of big luggage suitcases.
my problem would be i’d forget something in one of the back hidden pockets and wash it with like a cable or something in
@@tarraingart Yeah I also wonder if the person in this video has had that kind of experience lol. But maybe by being minimalistic, he has become extremely mindful of what stuff he does or doesn't have; or what stuff is placed in this or that place.
While minimalism may not appeal to everyone, the reality is that we often accumulate more possessions than we truly need. Addressing this tendency is a crucial first step toward freeing ourselves from unnecessary burdens and possessions, ultimately leading to a more simplified and fulfilling life.
I have so much sympathy for him. I love his perspective on belongings and what's important to him. I really respect that...
This guy mastered his minimalism and life. No compromise to his quality and fun while keeping his essentials cleverly optimized. Smart. 🔥
I love that even though he's minimalist, he has all his hobby stuff. lots of minimalist talk about hobbies and the related things like "if you dont have 2 shirts and sleep on the ground, you aren't minimalist. you have a switch? not minimalist. go and read Thoreau or something "
Hate minimalism, but love efficiency. That shirt is so well designed.
lol it really is
It's perfect for shoplifting. 😉
why do you hate minimalism?
@@pillepolle3122 it's not pragmatic for most people
@@RioTVEVO a Lamborghini also is not pragmatic for most people but I don't HATE the cars because of that! On the contrary. I admire them and I also respect the people who live a minimalistic lifestyle.
I'm a work in progress minimalist, this guy is at the extreme level and I love it.
This young man is my new hero. I admire him. Totally focused on what he wants.
I need that bagless shirt!!! I love Sibu's perspective when it comes to moving and realizing how many things you actually need or use in your daily life. Also love the gift you gave him! The fact that I knew immediately it was going to be used as a trash bag and was correct made me laugh out loud XD
he knocked it out of the park with that shirt!
As someone who just moved last weekend ... I WISH I was this much of a minimalist 😅😅 we have so much stuff that I packing is taking forever!
Much love from Arizona 💜💜
hope the move went well!
This is your chance to downsize!
His house is so calm n not overly stimulating.
this is a really unique way of life. not only unique but also extraordinary. i cannot comprehend how less is this guy can go. love it
the light with the projector just blew my mind. the magnetic bag was also so cool!
Hahaha the gift was so funny! And he immediately thought of a use for it too. Amazing guy
impressive!! This is, i think, the best video so far from this theme, really got inspired...
To what he was saying at the end about the difficulties being in a relationship this way .. if I met someone I really liked / loved and they were a minimalist like this, I would really admire and respect that part of them and also try to minimize my stuff as much as I could to help bring our lifestyles more in sync
Love hearing when the world has kind and supportive people~
Even though I have little in common with Sibu's lifestyle, I find it pretty inspiring how he's fully embraced his quirks... he's very authentic
Im so madly truly in love with his attitude and lifestyle. Good for him!
I have a lot of respect for him. He doesn't let material things chain him down. He focuses more on living, and less on acquisition.
This is inspiring actually, thanks for the great video!
Putting aside he's a minimalist, he has a recognisable system to me. When I lived on my own, I can tell you, I learned so much, because you don't have time. I was studying and working. I had little time to organize and clean my home, not to mention do the groceries, laundry, shopping. Like him, I put my life in boxes. Everything is organized in boxes and baskets.
I'm married now, I have decorations in our home for example, but they also have their boxes I just chuck them in when I need. This guy rotates clothes. We do that too. We have our going out clothes and the everyday clothes that we rotate (gym clothes included). We also go around thinking of ways to make our lives more effective/organized and how to get rid of things, but we are not minimalists.
(The way he held his phone. My guy is young!)
The guy is calm af, he doesn't have any clutter, less stress!
I would love to See some more minimalist and different homes! Keep making Videos 🥰
This man is actually a genius and is truly living, he owns his possessions, they don’t own him.
Absolutely, good point.
In this day and age that's rare.
He is right, we all have things that we dont need. Somethimes less, is more.
My old Apartment burned down, and after losing all I owned, i realized that yiu dont need so much things to be happy.

I find myself aspiring to this level of minimalism; it takes a significant amount of self control and organization to live that kind of life and Sibu-san is clearly content with his choice. Such a cute, thoughtful gift! 🤭
Love the video! What a fascinating way to approach life. A bit extreme but everyone could learn from this man. I too like to keep things minimal except for my art, paintings etc… You need space to think, I don’t know how anyone can think in a cluttered space.

His apartment and way of living is just so satisfying
As someone who likes to move around to new places every few years, I love this guy's concept of minimalist living. I'll try to reduce more of my items as it's always a hassle to carry a lot of things .
I am in no way a minimalist but i can appreciate the dedication needed for it.

As long as he is happy, I think this is awesome. Everything is so clean 😊
Such an incredible artist! Thank you for sharing
Oh goodness, this is definitely a mindset. One must have so much control. A clean way to live like a monk. I would fail epically trying to quell my inner pack rat. Lol
Thank you for showing life in alternate perspectives & ways. Your videos always leave me with a new appreciation of how life can be happily lived differently: bigger, smaller, in the air, on the water, with music, full of art, simple or complicated.
I was fascinated to see how much he has pared down his life. Truly inspirational, I will never be able to achieve such a level but I can't wait to do a massive clear out now. 😊
Awesome video as always Norm. Sibu he’s one cool guy. Can’t wait to see your next project with Sherry Berry I subscribed to her channel after the last livestream of y’all walking around Tokyo.

Now you made me wonder about being friends with a minimalist. You can't just give them the regular stuff, it might make them distressed about cluttering their place. Maybe food?
I love all the stuff he has designed! That shirt is next level for someone who doesn't like to carry bags around when walking places.
Honestly there is something appealing about this. I'm not sure I could live like that because I tend to keep things I never even use BUT to NEVER have clutter? That'd be incredible!
Hes very open minded and truly knows himself
I personally love having a lot of things and I can’t see myself ever being a minimalist. But honestly, this guy seems really happy with how he’s living his life so all the power to him.

After seeing this Im feeling so claustrophobic with my house filled to the ceiling with things. I admire this mans mind and how he applies his thoughts into a vision of a clear space.
