I think I'll disagree on whiskey lovers not going back to these two. Certainly nothing I pour when I'm planning on really digging in and focusing on a whiskey, but, they're both good options for a starter whiskey for the night to wake up your palate, or, for a "I just want to sip on a whiskey" type drinking. At the price you're talking about, that's WAY too much. I find either of those under $30 US, which makes a difference.
Yeah... I always have a bottle of some cheaper single malt/blend around. I don't drink them a whole lot, but for setting your palate, guests, cocktails etc... Totally appropriate.
Interesting take. I find Glenfiddich very sharp and 'spirity' (essentially what I don't like in a Scotch) but nice after a few smoke bombs for its pearyness (yh, that's a word I just made up). Much prefer the softness and floral notes in the Glenlivet. Wish I could get either at the kind of prices other commenters mention and I live in the UK!
Interesting. I'm a bottle-and-a-half deep into Glenfiddich 12 and have yet to find a chocolate note. I tend to just find pear, vanilla, and malt with the 40%abv being painfully obvious. My father got me 4 bottles of Glenlivet 12. I was grateful but yet to try it. It's been 2 years since i had glenlivet 12. My current favourite is Glenmorangie.

Glenfiddich 12 was my first single malt and I always thought it had a strange note on the nose compared to others I’ve tried since then. It wasn’t until I watched this video that I realized it was dark chocolate that I was picking up. Now it makes total sense.
Going back to my experiences back in the 1980s, I tried the Glenfiddich 12 because single malts were supposed to be better than Jack Daniel's Old No. 7 and Wiser's Deluxe, and it was the favorite drink of a scientist in a novel, Ah! impressionable youth... Now, well, some 35 years later, it's interesting that I can still be blown away by an exceptional dram, but it's quite infrequent that the label has the names of Glenfiddich or Glenlivet on it... I had a Glenlivet 18 recently, that I rather liked.
Agree with you totally. Certainly fine as an introduction to scotch, then time to move on. We sell alot because of price and name brand. I never use ice on any scotch, it kills the profile for sure. These 2 brands start getting better at age 18 yr and older for sure. Great review.
Fiddich 18 to my view is a real MASTERPIECE ! Though here in Moscow it's way too expensive (over 100 bucks) as opposed to Glenfiddich 12 which is a bit over 35 bucks
Great video!! You are 100% right these whiskys are “if I have to whisky “. Can’t find monkey shoulder here in Saskatchewan, but JW black is a much better whisky. Many friends and family over the years tried to get me into scotch with these two whiskys. Didn’t work. One taste of highland park and I was hooked. At that price point way better options available. Too many people are hung up on single malt, many blends have better flavour at this price point!!
i am glad i did not start with these or i may have been turned off to whisky,,i believe the first i must have tried was jhonny walker red as it was my dads only liked brand lol ,,i was not too into it as a younger kid but when i matured i did get into blended mid to bottom shelf and enjoy those more,,in fact i had jw black and found it tasted like swill stick compared to the red which has more robust flavors idk why ppl knock it down? but my favorite top 3 are grants, ballantines and especially dewars,,i bought that one over n over its the only one i can drink neat or on ice where it does quite well
I agree here about the Red. I don't know why it gets such a bad rep. It has a nice, spicy flavor and I enjoy it now and then. It is what it is and that is how it should be looked at.
I keep glenlivet around for guest that aren't sophisticated about whisky and don't appreciate a good single malt. And I don't want to sound like a snob but I can't give a friend that isn't a scotch drinker a 18 year single when I have glenlivet around. It is economically sound.
Wow I can't believe the prices on these. Both sell for just under 50 USD in my area. Glenlivet was the first scotch I had (which was this year) and then the very next was lagavullin which turned me onto scotch hardcore. I just picked up a bottle of Glenfiddich the other day and I have to say I personally prefer it much more than the Glenlivet. I definitely prefer a much more complex whiskey and as far as pricing goes I've gotten highland Park 12, Laphroaig 10 and ardbeg 10 all for about the same price so I'd definitely repeat purchase those. I am nowhere near tasting all that's out there and love your videos! I always take your tasting notes into consideration. Happy to be a new patreon patron!
Underwhelming? Maybe, I love both though. My go to is the Highland Park 18 but this is always real good stuff. Especially when you come home and you don't want something very overwhelming and complex. You just want something light but really good and tasty. I always have a bottle of both of these. Especially the Glenfiddich.
I'm constantly surprised to hear how expensive these bottles are in some markets. I've seen them on sale for 19.99 or at Costco for the same price for a 1L
He said that it was his personal opinion but eww Johnnie Walker... He lost all the "believe points" when that suggestion dropped, found this video while looking for alternatives to Singleton 12 but I think I'll stick with it.
Nice one Jeramy. I also prefer the glenfiddich 12 to the glenlivet 12. I know a lot of people keep either around as a palate warmup/reset dram, but I generally only have them at bars (that don’t stock much whisky). My preferred “easy sippers” are the Old Pulteney 12, glencadam 10 & Glenmorangie 10. The Glenmorangie 10 is the exact same price and much more flavorful imo. Pulteney & glencadams are like $10-$15 more but worth it for sure.
Nicely done Jeremy, both Scotches I've tried but at $50 US the better options are Ardbeg 10 and Laphroiag 10 for $5 more. But Glenlivet 12 and Glenfiddich 12 do have their place like when on a plane and these are the only two options. Cheers to the best drams!
Good and honest review. IMO, these two are way overated in US, but I do agreed they are easy on the palate. Plenty of whiskies taste much better including blended whisky. Given the similar price range, I rather have a bourbon. BTW i prefer the Glenlivet. Cheers
Honestly I 100% agree. Definitely looking for a more complex flavor when drinking scotch. I’ve only tired the glennfiddich 18 and it was pretty basic, Still enjoyed it tho.
These are as low as 21.99 in LA so very worth the price. With that being said Glenfiddich is my choice. If I go to a wedding and had a choice of jw black or Glenfiddich I'm picking Glenfiddich 100% of the time
I've always drank the glen livet 21 yrs, never tried the younger ones, and I've tried the other only twice and just didnt care for it, ofcourse I smoke cigars when I drink scotch so that may have an impact
Agreed good sir! I find the GL12 to be pretty basic. GF12 is also basic, but I get more interesting apple fruit and malt from the GF12. It's my choice for the cheap house single malt to have around for when it's needed, along with occasional monkey shoulder, Dewar's 12/15, etc. (Whatever is cheapest decent Scotch at the moment). Works alright as a palate-calibrating mini dram before progressing to more interesting stuff. Side note: I was subconsciously suspicious about your videos initially because I still don't know how you manage to find and afford some of the bottles you have in Canada... But, I like your style and content. It's grown on me. Well done, sir.
So I normally drink bourbons, but I thought I would try scotch. Glenlivet 12 was my first scotch and I really like it due to the oak aging. I just tried Glenfiddich 12 yesterday and was blown away. The flavors and smoothness are really nice. Now I can't tell which I like the most. So many good options that it's easy to see why people have so many different bottles in the collections lol
10 years ago these two were the first Scotches I tried. They turned me off Scotch and I turned to Bourbons. It has only been the last year that I discovered Laphroaig and fell in love with Peated Scotch. This has revived my interest in Single Malt and Blended Malts from around the world. Also, living in Ontario with insane pricing did not help my attitude.
these two single malts are sold as "hip and premium" drink packages and as an alternative to cognac/vsop/xo at karaoke bars and disco clubs in my country. packages include 2 or 3 carafes of mixers (e.g. cola, soda, ginger ale) of your choice and waiver of karaoke room rental charges.
From all these comment about crazy high prices i'm now extremely gratefull for living in a place where whisky is fairly priced (even with taxes, which are high to begin with)
“I dont want to come across as a whisky snob” unfortunately thats exactly how you come across. Unusual as we gave enjoyed many of your videos but the tone and arrogance to deride both these Whisky’s and assume anyone drinking them is in poor taste. We have around 800 bottles in our collection ranging from basic blends to 30 plus year old single casks and about 120 or so SMWS bottles but regularly return to whiskys like these and these exact Whisky’s. We are not be so arrogant as to say someone with any experience would not come back to one of these. We do. We enjoy going back to basics thanks regularly testing and trying base malts both to see the state if play and a palette reset. We introduce many people to whisky via basic cheap malts like these. If your going to compare 12 year old base line malts and “expect” or demand a similar experience to a cask strength SMWS release you are being unfair on both. Arrogant statements and assumptions littering your “review” left both of us thinking “this is exactly how you DONT review a whisky”. Any whisky...
I may have misspoke in assuming these whiskies were a stepping stone that people don't revisit. That was my opinion, and I shouldn't have assumed it was everyone's (these are the best selling distilleries for a reason). But I stand by my review. These are bland, basic, and uninteresting to me.
Glendfiddich 12 was my introduction to scotch and I drank only that for years...albeit not very often. One day I went to the liquor store and they didn’t have any fiddich 12 so got stuck with trying Glendronach 12 😂....and that’s where the whisky journey really started.
where on earth do you find such low prices? those two can not be found for less than $50-60 in canada ,,i find it very hard to believe that even in the US you can find them less than $30,,anyways i am mostly used to blended scotch but i tried the glenfiddich 12 and its like i never had whisky before ,taste was completely alien to me being a single malt,,i liked the pear aroma but i noticed what i can only describe as like a faint musk or eau de cologne and the taste was similarly dry and spirity i am thinking this was from the oak wood but like i said i never tasted that before perhaps because it is much less in a blend to pick up ,it take several sips to find flavors,i am sure its good stuff for the connoisseurs but its not my cup of tea and not a whisky i can drink at ease,,a while back i was digging around in my dads old booze cabinet and found a few treasures,,two chartreuse bottles yellow and green and one glenlivet 12,,one day i hope to crack it open and hopefully enjoy it a bit more than the feddich but these bottle have been stored for like over 25 years so they may taste quite different than todays production of them
@@SippersSocialClub ok i see you get it online and they deliver it to a store near you? in the states but they wont do it for canada i think where im at ,but i guess this price comes to over $30 CAD
The Glenmorangie 10 is my favorite. And I’ve been from the over smoked Ardbeg to The Dimple Pinch. Not much that I don’t know about singles and blended. The Glenfiddich is good, make no mistake about it. Good review.
These are both 45-50 dollar range in Kansas. Prefer the clean apple & orchard fruits in the Glenlivet 12 to the Glenfiddich which comes across a bit muddled in comparison. That said I have not bought a bottle of either in some time nor have plans too. I have a “wondering palate” that has moved on!
Thanks for the review and your insight into these bottles. I can enjoy these for an easy pour and early in the night. However, I would agree that in this price range I tend to drink more bourbon.Cheers.
I always go for the Fiddick because of the price, would appreciate a list of superior scotch in that range of $. I can't afford a Lagavulin on a regular basis ;)
I think the Glenfiddich 12 isn't bad for what it is or sets out to do. It's wishy washy at 40% and uses refill casks for sure but I'm no big fan of Highland Park 12 or Old Pulteney 12 which also have 40% abv. These companies are doing a different job to what whisky geeks like us want. They make a fortune from the occasional whisky drinker and are extremely successful at that. We have to remember that whisky connoisseurs are a tiny minority of the whisky drinking community and what we think is irrelevant to their sales. I started drinking whisky when I was about 16/17 years old with this sort of stuff. This is the best you get in most pubs, bars and restaurants in the U.K. Other than that we are in agreement. Cheers Jeremy. WT
I agree with what you're saying. I just think there are some blended scotches that I prefer at the same price. I think Highland Park 12 is much better, but of course we get it at 43%. Always respect your opinion and welcome your comment Welsh, cheers buddy.
That extra 3% in the Highland Park makes all the difference to me. Not only in the whisky itself but because I'm so upset they rip-off U.K consumers I can't bring myself to buy it again. Same is true for Laphroaig 10.
Southern states have no income tax so they tax the crap out of booze. I’m always amazed by how cheap the booze is when I visit my nephews in California. But then again I pay no state income tax nor do I have to pay astronomical rents
I think Glenmorangie Original (10 yr), Dewars 12 or Tomatin 12 are much better... and I agree Monkey Shoulder and JW Black are too, though JW Black is getting to be overpriced, IMO. My "everyday" is Teachers... at $17... a true bargain!
I got a bottle of Glenfiddich 12 for Christmas. It's a fine whiskey. Very drinkable. But, for my money, I feel like there are better scotches. I'm a big fan of bigger, peatier flavours. Those bottles are around 60 Canadian dollars at my LCBO. For less than that, I can get a bottle of Woodford Reserve that I'm going to enjoy more. On the other side of that, I can spend a bit more and get a bottle of Laphroiag, so Glenfiddich 12 isn't something that I'd spend my own money on.
Hi Jeremy, I just opened a Singleton Glen Ord Signature. Now I think you may call this boring and nothing, simple and not much going on as I’ve discoverd it now. Compared to Glenfidditch Reserved cask or even Glenfidditch 12 y.o they have more complexity, richness and full bodied. My bad choice.now that explains why you’re not that big on Glen Ord and all those Glens whiskeys. 😁
I agree that glenfiddich 12 is better but I do like glenlivet 12 better than glenlivet founders reserve but I like glenlivet caribbean reserve better than both But yes it's more economic or beginner but not much with glenfiddich but glenlivet is good after 12 and that's when its awesome to me and also it's kinda why I'm liking glenmorangie better cause I feel glenmorangie is more favorable and more affordable even
Jeremy my man , knocking on the 10K Door . Smart move to review the standard offerings that are readily available. Plus I find myself getting burned out on trying to always find the newest and best stuff out there. Plus it's damned expensive , Cheers my friend.
I didn't try Scotch whisky until I was 60 years old. I bought a bottle each of Glenfiddich 12 and Glenlivet 12 to compare. Well, I don't get it. Both tasted terrible. The Glenfiddich was maybe a bit less awful tasting. No, thanks. I'll stick to Buffalo Trace and Maker's 46.
M. Scott The increased demand for Scotch has lead to some mediocre bottling in my opinion. And...it’s pushed the price of scotch into the stratosphere. In regards to the video, I think real drinkers don’t make a point of bloviating about what they drink.
One you did not mention in this price range is Naked Grouse blended malt. For $2 more this is 43% and has some pretty good sherry flavors (rumored to have some Macallen in the blend) and quite a bit more body than these. Cheers Jeremy
Speyside, I've got livet 12, fidich 12, macallan 12, and morangie 10 in my varied collection of nearly 30 bottles. fidich is my fave, livet is my least, macallan is a really close second, morangie isn't bad, but it's just not as good as fidich or macallan. I'm not all that interested in age statements, as it kinda wrecks my wallet at the moment. i think I'd still go cheap scotch over good bourbon though, I've got like 6 bottles of bourbon in my collection and the only one I like is elijah craig, I'll prolly buy a bottle of angel's envy and call it a day with them.
Please tell us how you really feel about these drams Jeremy..lol. I also preferred the Fiddich, but am struggling to find creative ways to kill the bottle. Even not a go to for golf course flask whisky. Double #letsgopalate
Glenfiddich was my first real scotch experience. But Glenlivet was number two. I’ll just say it. After the livet, fiddich sucked. It was the first bottle I ever bought, and honestly it was the last tome I ever bought it. For, “budget”, scotch? My go to is Aberfeldy 12.
As a new whiskey drinker, what other Scotch whiskey do you prefer in the same price range as Glenfiddich 12 or Glenlivet 12 that is better? Or what affordable Scotch under $85 do you prefer?
@@SippersSocialClub Balvenie and Talisker very expensive in Canada as you know.. Close in price to the Glens here are HP12, Glenmorangie 10, Aberlour 12, Aberfeldy 12, Tomatin 12. JW Black is so good I often prefer that to single malts.
Everyone saying these are basic and boring but not mentioning any names. I'm interested in knowing what's better than these for under 40 bucks. Glenlivet is 30 where I'm at and fidich is 38.
@@SippersSocialClub I saw that in the video. Not a fan of the JW. I've been seeing monkey shoulder and have wanted to try it so it may be my next one. You see I just came across the 2 in the video and though they were really good. Especially the fiddich. So suggestions are welcome if that tasty beverage isnt all that.
Jeremy, Great topic. This should push you over 10k subs. My favorite lower cost scotch at about $30 US is The Naked Grouse, but kinda limited in finding. For the 12 years, I like the Old Pulteney and Glenfarclas at about $40 to 45. CHEERS!!
Remember that they both progressed from a meager production to where they are now and hence have a legacy: Glenlivet circa 1824 and Glenfiddich circa 1887. Ultimately though it is about one's taste. Thank you for the video! :-)
the glenlivet 12 is the only one i could afforti thought i got a god value, feels bad that its just a "when you have to" for you and you rate my choice lower than the glenfiddich. ouch
To each their own homie. If that stuff was good to your taste buds then who’s to tell you anything different? This is his review. Doesn’t have to be yours as well🤷♂️
Never thought I'd just have to "deal" with either of these 2 scotches. They are both one of my favs
Glenlivet 12 is my go to 😊
I don't take this channel very serious

“Deal with it”??? Come on, give me break!
What weddings does this guy go to? I wished I went to weddings where either of these 2 were served.
Don't worry. Ralfy gave it quite high praise- ralfy review 814 - Glenlivet 12yo Double Oak @ 40%vol: ua-cam.com/video/TOEpO4rCnZg/v-deo.html
Glenfiddich 12 was my introduction to scotch. It will always have a place in my bar.
same here!
I just tried it today. This is my first scotch. Do you guys have any suggestions for what next? :) thanks!
@@andrewlabit Lets say, if you go for sherry cask, definitely macallan 12 sherry oak cask, for bourbon casks, balvenie single barrel!

In my area we don’t have many options to choose from and the Glenfiddich 12 is my go to daily drinker
I prefer the Glenlivet. There’s not too much between them but the Glenfiddich seems to have a slight metallic note that I don’t like.

Glenfiddich 12 hasn't been under $35 since the 1990s. I don't know what the hell this guy's talking about

It is economically sound.
and somehow you still managed to sound like a snob! wow!
Look the people I drink with are not going to know the difference so I don’t feel bad about it. Not that I don’t mind being a snob.
California prices are some of the best. Thanks for the support Will, cheers man!
I prefer the Glenlivet 12 myself, good reviews though!
For the price you paid (26.99) those are 70+ solid scotch options, my area nothing under $43 that I've seen.
I'm constantly surprised to hear how expensive these bottles are in some markets. I've seen them on sale for 19.99 or at Costco for the same price for a 1L
Says The Glenlivet is basic, then suggests Johnnie Walker Black, lol. MS is good though.
I think Pulteney, Glencadam and Morangie 12s are far better and worth the extra coin as well. Cheers!
27 bucks? Glenlivet 12 is 40+ here in the Carolinas. Idk about the price for the glenfiddich but I think it's more expensive.
Wow, thats crazy expensive
Same in our country
Glenfiddech 12 is $49 + tax here in DC.
55+ here in New York.
$50! Yikes.
$50? These are both $28 in the Bay Area (California).
Good and honest review. IMO, these two are way overated in US, but I do agreed they are easy on the palate. Plenty of whiskies taste much better including blended whisky. Given the similar price range, I rather have a bourbon. BTW i prefer the Glenlivet. Cheers
How cheap are you? 3 years later both of these bottles are over $50 USD. Monkey shoulder ($35 USD) is definitely not better than either one of these.
Honestly I 100% agree. Definitely looking for a more complex flavor when drinking scotch. I’ve only tired the glennfiddich 18 and it was pretty basic, Still enjoyed it tho.
If one of these is your favorite scotch’s… you probably need to try more scotch
These are as low as 21.99 in LA so very worth the price. With that being said Glenfiddich is my choice. If I go to a wedding and had a choice of jw black or Glenfiddich I'm picking Glenfiddich 100% of the time
Cali has the best prices. Other states are charging like $50-$60 a bottle haha
@@SippersSocialClub one thing California is doing right lol
I've always drank the glen livet 21 yrs, never tried the younger ones, and I've tried the other only twice and just didnt care for it, ofcourse I smoke cigars when I drink scotch so that may have an impact
tell me you are Rich with out telling you are Rich
@@raj-de6dp um I just did with my Scotch comment, like Duh! You should've had a V8
I purchase most of my product in the US (have family there) Cheers!
Both are excellent, Glenfiddich is much smoother all around. 🥃
I've never done the 12 back to back, but I did the 18s back to back and I really liked the Glenlivet 18 more.
Well strap in cause the world of scotch will continue to amaze you :)
Glenlivet 12 and a Phoenix roll. Wonderful pairing.
yeah :( used to be my go to but after enough whisky, just tatse like water.
Highland Park 12 is very good for the money. The 18 in these are both my favs. Unfortunately the prices have sky rocketed on them. 😞
I Love Glenfiddich
My favorites are glen livet 12 glenfidich 12 and glen or Oranquie 10
Oranquie?? Never heard of it... you must have misspelled it... as to the other two... there are MANY better for around the same price.
I love you marking system. It's good for us outside US where alchohol TAX is different.
these two single malts are sold as "hip and premium" drink packages and as an alternative to cognac/vsop/xo at karaoke bars and disco clubs in my country. packages include 2 or 3 carafes of mixers (e.g. cola, soda, ginger ale) of your choice and waiver of karaoke room rental charges.
They mix with soda well, but most places price them too expensive for a mixing whisky
Between these 2, I prefer the Glenlivet, as the Glenfiddich is too sweet. They're both fine, but in the same price ballpark, I prefer Glenmorangie.
Cool, I agree. Spend just a little more and get something much better
Yes! Glenmorangie and glendronach
I have both in my Bar they are wonderful 🍷🍷🍷🍷🤣🤣🤣🤣
does it really matter?? i enjoy them both!! its up to you, drink what you like the way you want it.
Glendfiddich 12 was my introduction to scotch and I drank only that for years...albeit not very often. One day I went to the liquor store and they didn’t have any fiddich 12 so got stuck with trying Glendronach 12 😂....and that’s where the whisky journey really started.
haha, that's awesome
where on earth do you find such low prices? those two can not be found for less than $50-60 in canada ,,i find it very hard to believe that even in the US you can find them less than $30,,anyways i am mostly used to blended scotch but i tried the glenfiddich 12 and its like i never had whisky before ,taste was completely alien to me being a single malt,,i liked the pear aroma but i noticed what i can only describe as like a faint musk or eau de cologne and the taste was similarly dry and spirity i am thinking this was from the oak wood but like i said i never tasted that before perhaps because it is much less in a blend to pick up ,it take several sips to find flavors,i am sure its good stuff for the connoisseurs but its not my cup of tea and not a whisky i can drink at ease,,a while back i was digging around in my dads old booze cabinet and found a few treasures,,two chartreuse bottles yellow and green and one glenlivet 12,,one day i hope to crack it open and hopefully enjoy it a bit more than the feddich but these bottle have been stored for like over 25 years so they may taste quite different than todays production of them

Could you please make a video comparing glenfiddich vs glenmoringie??
The Glenmorangie 10 is my favorite. And I’ve been from the over smoked Ardbeg to The Dimple Pinch. Not much that I don’t know about singles and blended. The Glenfiddich is good, make no mistake about it.
Good review.
These are both 45-50 dollar range in Kansas. Prefer the clean apple & orchard fruits in the Glenlivet 12 to the Glenfiddich which comes across a bit muddled in comparison. That said I have not bought a bottle of either in some time nor have plans too. I have a “wondering palate” that has moved on!
Wow, those prices are high. Can you order from outside your state?
I am not interested enough to order these online. Prices are similar in the surrounding states around me.
Thanks for the review and your insight into these bottles. I can enjoy these for an easy pour and early in the night. However, I would agree that in this price range I tend to drink more bourbon.Cheers.
+Whisky Neighbour Yeah, some bourbon are much higher quality pours at the price point, cheers!
THEY JUST DONT GO FOR $26 AROUND HERE ANYWAYS, AND I LOVE THOSE TWO
Enjoy both of them!! Good smooth drink
I always go for the Fiddick because of the price, would appreciate a list of superior scotch in that range of $. I can't afford a Lagavulin on a regular basis ;)
how much are they in your area?
Try Glenmorangie Original (10 yr)
Glenfiddich was my first ..... better smells.
But , Glenlivet is better between the two.
I have bought both of these for around $35 CDN on sale in Alberta. At that price, it's a great deal. Add a bit of Ardbeg 10, and it's quite good.
That's an interesting blend!
What ratio do you use? I once mixed JW Red with Laphroaig Quarter Cask. Unless you really like the taste of dirty socks... don't bother with that one.
Why am I paying $50-$60 for the same whiskey here in North Carolina..
That's crazy money
Go to frugal McDoogals south across the border from charlotte.
kam1996 because they tax the shit out of booze.
Well said, cheers!
Totally agree
Hi Jeremy, I just opened a Singleton Glen Ord Signature. Now I think you may call this boring and nothing, simple and not much going on as I’ve discoverd it now. Compared to Glenfidditch Reserved cask or even Glenfidditch 12 y.o they have more complexity, richness and full bodied. My bad choice.now that explains why you’re not that big on Glen Ord and all those Glens whiskeys. 😁
I agree that glenfiddich 12 is better but I do like glenlivet 12 better than glenlivet founders reserve but I like glenlivet caribbean reserve better than both
But yes it's more economic or beginner but not much with glenfiddich but glenlivet is good after 12 and that's when its awesome to me and also it's kinda why I'm liking glenmorangie better cause I feel glenmorangie is more favorable and more affordable even
Jeremy my man , knocking on the 10K Door . Smart move to review the standard offerings that are readily available. Plus I find myself getting burned out on trying to always find the newest and best stuff out there. Plus it's damned expensive , Cheers my friend.
Epic 10k live show coming soon :)
Where are you guys finding it at that price? I always find it in the $40 range.???

Glenlivet 12 is my new Jameson aka party whiskey
I think you’d buy these just to try them. And look for to go on sale.
Agreed, the sale price is probably the only way to justify em
it is a great comparison Jeremy ,, I like it ,, Awesome ,, Have a nice day , Tom
One you did not mention in this price range is Naked Grouse blended malt. For $2 more this is 43% and has some pretty good sherry flavors (rumored to have some Macallen in the blend) and quite a bit more body than these. Cheers Jeremy
I actually haven't even tried Naked Grouse yet, ill get on that, cheers!
@@SippersSocialClub might want to pick it up on a swing through the us $28 around here.
Haha! The mix with soda was ok. #letsgopalate x2
If you're asking "which is better?" then I'm afraid you're missing the point of whisk(e)y appreciation.
If you have money for one bottle, which are you picking? I mean, what's the point of reviewing a product if not to answer that question?
I've tried both, I agree the Glenfiddich 12 is better. If I have to buy one of them again definitely will pick Glenfiddich 12!
I drank a lot of the Fiddich 12 one night at a wedding, it got the job done :)
@@SippersSocialClub hahaha!
They are even. I use to say they are both "Glen" so it's impossible to fail then.
I would go with Johnnie Walker Black, Balvenie 12 Double Wood, Talisker 10, Macallan 12 (sherry), cheers :)
@@SippersSocialClub thank you.
I prefer some blends over these. JW Black, or Monkey Shoulder for example
CHEERS!!
Nice! Much better options for just a few bucks more, cheers!
Snobs are hilarious.
so is plain and boring whisky!
Remember that they both progressed from a meager production to where they are now and hence have a legacy: Glenlivet circa 1824 and Glenfiddich circa 1887. Ultimately though it is about one's taste. Thank you for the video! :-)
the glenlivet 12 is the only one i could afforti thought i got a god value, feels bad that its just a "when you have to" for you and you rate my choice lower than the glenfiddich. ouch

I did this head to head 2 days ago after not drinking either for some time - The Glenlivet 12 is my dram if I had to choose between them.
