This is very helpful for a beginner like me. No long lectures or distracting music, just natural background sounds and clear, elegant movement which I can learn from by example. Thank you for this.

I agree! Those are the exact things I love about Judy’s routine. Thank you, Judy!
When I started doing the 2nd exercise (upholding the sky) for some reason, I thought to myself... this little lady is smiling and doing what she can to help anyone in the world. Oddly enough I thought about my grandmother and starting crying. What a release. Thank you so much! I'm going to get my wife to do it w me.
Thank you for the kindest message! I am so happy this exercise was able to bring to you a real sense of peace and relaxation. Enjoy and a happy new year to you!
I love this excercise. I wish that this beautiful, silent lady will do more. I can’t stand all the talk on so many Qigong videos. This is pure peace. ❤
I like how the notes show when to Inhale and Exhale!
You commented on he most important point. Slow, smooth, and deep breathing is key to qigong exercises. This video helps the users to achieve successful breathing.
@@eightpieces it's like by yoga.
Thank you i never noticed that❤💋
I’ve tried a lot of UA-cam videos and realized the instructor has a lot of impact on the vibe . This lady has nothing to prove almost like no ego, so for me this video is so soothing her energy is so calming. This is my favourite Qigong video by far. I love her smile
Thank you. Sharing this jewel of an exercise is all I want. So glad it works for you.

I've been doing this daily for a month, what an improvement in my overall fitness and well being. So gentle and meditative! I'm 62 and plan to do this for the rest of my life.
You are so wise! I made the same choice and still enjoy the benefit. Thank you for sharing and good health to you!

I did this everyday during the 2020 lockdown and it truly kept me sane. I've found it again now in my busy, busy life and it keeps me sane all over again. Thank you for a wonderful 20 minutes.
Thank you for sharing your experience. Many viewers find this routine helpful during the pandemic lockdown.
I did tai chi for many years, Yang style and Chen, but somehow I stoped and forgot the movements. I used to love so much and it was very important in my development and health. At this quarantine time I was looking for simple qigong exercices and I found this. I love your smiling face, the sounds of birds, the silence and concentration, the sun at your face. I do it every day with all my presence and I feel my legs stronger, the capacity of my lungs expanding and a state of peace. Thank you so much for being there. Keep safe and healthy :)
Love from Brasil
Thank you so much for sending your experience from Brasil. I am so glad this Qigong video found you. Enjoy the exercise and good health to you!
I've been practicing this daily for 5 weeks and really feeling the lasting calming benefits. Thank you so much. I love the video, especially the birdsong and lack of verbal instruction.
So happy you enjoy the video. We also like to practice qigong exercises with nature. Have fun and good health to you!
This was the first video I learned Qigong from, and still by far the best. I wish they were all like this: teaching slowly, carefully and repeating each move a few times, not just doing it once and "follow along". Kudos for the best Qigong video on UA-cam!
WOW! Thanks for giving us such high marks. Glad you enjoy this video. We are happy to present it.
I love that the whole video has no speech, just the bird singing🤩🤩 Qigong is truly a gift that allows us to tap into our body's innate wisdom and tap into the boundless energy of the universe. This video has not only taught me valuable techniques for self-care but has also inspired me to explore further into the world of Qigong and its numerous benefits. ❤❤
Thank you for sharing your thoughts. Qigong exercises are so good for our health. I am happy to share with you. Enjoy and good health to you!
I just moved to a new city for work, I know nobody here and the flat doesn't completely feel like home yet. So I've been very anxious and my panic attacks are getting out of hand again so I decided to try this alongside my anxiety medicine since my doctor recommended it. And it has helped a ton. Thank you so much for sharing this routine with us.

Best Qigong exercises!!! Love them. Very simple but very powerful. I felt the energy immediately. I love that they're simple. Helps me especially after a brain tumor surgery and stroke 3 yrs ago...my memory has been challenged. Thank you so much!!!
It warms my heart to know that this exercise is right for you. It is gentle. It increases your oxygen intake to help you rejuvenate. I am thankful for this video to have found you. Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us.
You're so kind. I am grateful to have found you as well.
I now have more energy and feel very peaceful.
I have short term memory damage due to the stroke but I believe that this will improve greatly in time. Ironically, I remember my dreams almost daily and shortly after I started your Qigong exercises, I now remember multiple dreams when I wake up. 😁
Although we do not understand how the neural circuits work in the brain, more activity is definitely encouraging. Happy to hear this.
Thank you. I do the Eight Pieces every day, at the end of the day, and it calms and relaxes me. Lovely to have no music or speech, only the sounds of birds.
So glad you enjoy doing these exercises. We also love the sounds of birds! Thank you for your kind words.
She cracks me up man. She has so much youth and exuberance. Love the slight smile she keeps when doing her practice which reminds me to enjoy it and not take it too seriously
Exactly! You really got my points. Thanks for sharing!
Excellent video. No talking, simple and clear directions. Perfect.
Thank you! So glad you prefer not to have verbal instructions. We feel the same!
Beautiful, well made video. So sad, that odd people chose to put thumbs down - unexplainable! This woman is a fine teacher/demonstrator and the filming is extremely well done as it focuses on the important movement changes
Thank you for your very kind praises. We made a sincere effort to bring out the important movement changes as well as the timing for deep-breathing. A majority of our viewers prefer the birds chirping in the background. They did not miss the verbal instructions.
I used to play competitive sports and more intensive work out routines. Ate a lot, but worked out a lot. Now that I am older I find this type of exercise to be mentally and physically superior in many ways unless someone is training for a sport. The breathing, complete motions and relaxing the mind, carry benefits throughout the day.
Friends my age is 61. I successfully completed my 175th day eight brocade qigong. Thanks to the teacher.
Fantastic! Keep up the good work. You will enjoy many years of good health and good spirit. Thanks for sharing your progress.

The most beautiful practice I’ve encountered online, and I’ve tried quite a few.
Earlier or later I always come back to it. Thank you
Thank you for your kind words. You are very welcome. It is here all the time for you.
I've practiced tai chi chuan and chi gong for over thirty years, and watched innumerable videos of both tai chi and chi gong. It's rare to see someone exude such sincerity and such presence in a video of this type. Just watching her is chi gong. I wish I knew her personally. I imagine she is charming.
I enjoy practicing Qigong, believe in its many benefits, and truly want to share it with viewers of this video. Thanks so much for recognizing my sincerity. I am humbled by your kind praises.
Such exacting sentiments, I too have similar story and agree, thanks Judy
A perfect illustration of the 8 brocades. So easy to follow without irritating commentary, good camera angles and I enjoy the birdsong in the background.
Glad you enjoy the feel of nature in this video. Thanks for sharing your experience.
This is one of my favorite Qi Gong videos. I watch it over and over. My wife and I have started doing Qi Gong exercises every day. We were already in Tai Chi classes, but Qi Gong has brought in an added dimension to our daily exercise routine. I guess you can say we are in our "golden years", and it can be difficult to find activities that don't kill us off. Tai Chi and Qi Gong are relaxing, as well as a great way to improve our balance and range of motion. We search the web for favorite exercises and create our on routines to follow here on UA-cam. Thank you so much for creating this video!
I am glad you enjoy Tai Chi and Qigong exercise. There are a great many benefits, especially when you do it daily. Thanks for sharing your experience with our viewers!
I referred this video to so many people on line who have no clues about qi gong. And each time I come back to get the title and heading, I still watch her, listen to the music and love her so much. She lifts my spirit and makes me think of the number of people she has helped to alleviate their suffering. My deepest gratitude each day to her and Eight Pieces staff.
. I am very glad you found this video helpful. Your kind comments have no doubt helped many to try qigong for the first time and benefit from their practice. Thank you so much!
So nice! Been sitting with manic energy for weeks not knowing what to do with myself, can't concentrate, etc.... did this and can't stop smiling. All the excess energy has gone away but I feel alert and focused :)
It is wonderful to hear from you. Thank you! Keep up with the good work and continue to enjoy the peace and joy that come with qigong practice.

Your words warmed my heart. This exercise is a form of active meditation. The video was made to encourage the meditative mood. You really shared our thoughts and efforts. Thank you so much!
@@eightpieces Yes, it's just what I needed. I decided to try some Qigong to practice before my sitting, or standing, meditation practice, to enhance the mind-body connection as I practice The Four Foundations of Mindfulness.
When I was ready, the teacher appeared! With Metta 💕🙏
I too am recently using qi gong before my Buddhist meditation sessions. I am finding that doing so before sitting (or recently, standing) meditation really helps clarify the mind. [It's still as active as ever, but I seem to see it more easily now.] Incidentally there is a monk named Ajahn Sucitto who advocates qi gong as an adjunct to meditation. You can see what he has to say at ajahnsucitto.org/extras-3/qi-gong/.
@@jwright123456789 Hey, thanks for sharing!! I read the bit about his experiences with Qigong, and kayasankhara, and will definitely watch the video and Dhamma talks. It was during a recent retreat led by Bhante Rahula that I experienced a more holistic approach to the breathing-body mindfulness. He teaches yoga for meditators, and he mentioned Tai chi and Qigong also being helpful for many folks. I found the basic pranayama and stretches he led us through right before meditation to really help me out, to give attention to the body and quiet the ever-so-chatty mind. The little bits of Qigong I've found and done really fit in well for me, more so than yoga. Thanks again! 💕
@@AH-cy4md I've also been drawn to QiGong more so than Yoga too. Your original comment that started this conversation really sums up why I love this video too. A lot of great energy inspired by this video 👍

Slowing the breathing is the hardest part! This was such a peaceful, mindful routine. Loved it, thank you.
Yes, slow breathing does not come naturally for many of us. However, you may achieve it by breathing deep and slow whenever you think of it. Remember to expand your abdomen muscle when you inhale and shrink it when you exhale to get rid of waste air. Good luck!
That face....dignity, energy, lived, loved. lost, survived and total glow of vibrant life...fantastic...please make more

I"m 78 and just found you. Resisting dailoy exercise for years. First day today....this is my daily routine now! thank you!
I am so glad this channel found you! I started Qigong after I retired, and now I also do this routine daily. Good wishes to you.
I absolutely love this routine. It is calming and peaceful. I really like the way there are no words, but written instructions instead. I do it every day. I have an autoimmune disorder called Polymyalgia Rheumatica. Doing this routine helps with the stiffness and makes me feel some better. I wish you would do more videos.
I am so glad that you found qigong helpful for your condition. We will absolutely announce on this page when we post more videos. In the meantime, best wishes to you and kudos for your diligence. Thanks for your encouraging words.
I love this daily routine; and the peacefulness of the singing birds. So calming in these difficult times...
I am delighted that you enjoy this version of qigong exercises. Have fun and good health to you!
I would LOVE if you made more demonstrations. I LOVE that you show and write, and that the only sound are the birds singing. No talkning that disturbs my focus. Thank you ❤
Glad you like this video. Have fun exercising and good health to you!
I am so grateful for this calming uplifting practice. It has brought me joy and a sense of connection to the practitioner’s calm smiling face through the isolation of the pandemic and long covid slow recovering. Thank you so much.
You have picked a perfect tool to help you recover from Covid related sickness. The gentle movements with deep breathing will improve your circulation and help with lung functions. Be patient. You will enjoy a full recovery.
I've noticed this exercise relieves cough. It's not the first time that it helps me when I'm coughing. This morning I was coughing before and during the exercise. When I finished the cough disappeared.
The movements in this exercise encourage slow and deep breathing. This way, you gain more oxygen and increase your lung capacity. It is especially helpful in the long run to calm your lungs and eliminates cough due to spasms.
This is a great little gem. In just a few minutes it captures the important elements, and its setting on a beautiful day in a meadow adds to it. Qigong is all about slow, graceful, complete movements and breathing coordinated with each movement. Pay careful attention to the inhale and exhale of each exercise; they work together. I recommend Qigong to singers as a warm-up, but anyone would benefit. It's difficult to describe how it differs from just doing calisthenics (rough, rapid movement and uncoordinated breathing): you will definitely feel that you've had a workout, but you'll feel energized, not exhausted. Both have their place, but this is a clear favorite for me.
You certainly have a fine sense of what is qigong is all about, and I am so pleased that you enjoy this video. We appreciate that you share your thoughts and encourage others!
Literally the best video on UA-cam.

Me too, I found that pain from my arthritis at the bottom of the spine gone immediately after 20 mins of the qigong movements.😄

Just caught this video by accident. I am just starting to learn Qigong from two other teachers on you tube. I could not stop watching this video although it is way past bedtime. It is so peaceful and beautiful that I want to learn this practice. I don't know that I need anything else. I am also an older lady and I would so like to know the peace of this wonderful teacher. Thanks
Thank you for your kind comments. I started Qigong after I retired from work, and I feel my life is richer because of it. Good health to you!
For those individuals who have been doing this for a while. Try each exercise with eyes closed, taking a brief glimpse to maintain your timing. It's a nice change for a long time practitioner. Big Smiles. CMJ
When you exercise with eyes closed, you can concentrate more on breathing. Visualize in your mind's eye a slight rise in abdomen when you inhale. Back to resting position when you exhale. Fun to try it.
Imagine balls of light in your hands, then notice how your palms feel when you're done ;)
