You are on your way , as I do, to enjoy fully the benefit of this wonderful practice. Thank you and God bless!
Just started this as a daily routine yesterday and I can already feel body and mind receiving its effects. Thank you so much for posting this and helping me find peace throughout the day. I feel like I can finally put anger and frustration behind me.
This is very helpful for a beginner like me. No long lectures or distracting music, just natural background sounds and clear, elegant movement which I can learn from by example. Thank you for this.
You are very welcome. I am delighted this works for you. Please pay special attention to the deep-breathing, which is a very important part of the exercise and benefits. Have fun and good health!
To anybody who's reading this, I pray that whatever is hurting you or whatever you are constantly stressing about gets better. May the dark thoughts, the overthinking, and the doubt exit your mind. May clarity replace confusion. May peace and calmness fill your life. 🙏
When I started doing the 2nd exercise (upholding the sky) for some reason, I thought to myself... this little lady is smiling and doing what she can to help anyone in the world. Oddly enough I thought about my grandmother and starting crying. What a release. Thank you so much! I'm going to get my wife to do it w me.
Thank you for the kindest message! I am so happy this exercise was able to bring to you a real sense of peace and relaxation. Enjoy and a happy new year to you!
I’ve tried a lot of UA-cam videos and realized the instructor has a lot of impact on the vibe . This lady has nothing to prove almost like no ego, so for me this video is so soothing her energy is so calming. This is my favourite Qigong video by far. I love her smile
You commented on he most important point. Slow, smooth, and deep breathing is key to qigong exercises. This video helps the users to achieve successful breathing.
Wonderful. I am a psychiatrist, locked down during Covid-19 and now wildfire smoke in Oregon. This practice is keeping me sane. I’m referring a lot of patients to this video. Thank you!

I’m loving this practice and have been doing it in the mornings. I like that the instructions are written and only the birds are speaking. So peaceful.

She cracks me up man. She has so much youth and exuberance. Love the slight smile she keeps when doing her practice which reminds me to enjoy it and not take it too seriously
Beautiful, well made video. So sad, that odd people chose to put thumbs down - unexplainable! This woman is a fine teacher/demonstrator and the filming is extremely well done as it focuses on the important movement changes
Thank you for your very kind praises. We made a sincere effort to bring out the important movement changes as well as the timing for deep-breathing. A majority of our viewers prefer the birds chirping in the background. They did not miss the verbal instructions.
I used to play competitive sports and more intensive work out routines. Ate a lot, but worked out a lot. Now that I am older I find this type of exercise to be mentally and physically superior in many ways unless someone is training for a sport. The breathing, complete motions and relaxing the mind, carry benefits throughout the day.
Mr Jensen is inspiring me. I am 81 and try to practice 3 times per week. My whole body feels impacted in a refreshing way. Here's to more hours...thank you, teacher
This was the first video I learned Qigong from, and still by far the best. I wish they were all like this: teaching slowly, carefully and repeating each move a few times, not just doing it once and "follow along". Kudos for the best Qigong video on UA-cam!
This is one of my favorite Qi Gong videos. I watch it over and over. My wife and I have started doing Qi Gong exercises every day. We were already in Tai Chi classes, but Qi Gong has brought in an added dimension to our daily exercise routine. I guess you can say we are in our "golden years", and it can be difficult to find activities that don't kill us off. Tai Chi and Qi Gong are relaxing, as well as a great way to improve our balance and range of motion. We search the web for favorite exercises and create our on routines to follow here on UA-cam. Thank you so much for creating this video!
I am glad you enjoy Tai Chi and Qigong exercise. There are a great many benefits, especially when you do it daily. Thanks for sharing your experience with our viewers!
I did this everyday during the 2020 lockdown and it truly kept me sane. I've found it again now in my busy, busy life and it keeps me sane all over again. Thank you for a wonderful 20 minutes.
Best Qigong exercises!!! Love them. Very simple but very powerful. I felt the energy immediately. I love that they're simple. Helps me especially after a brain tumor surgery and stroke 3 yrs ago...my memory has been challenged. Thank you so much!!!
It warms my heart to know that this exercise is right for you. It is gentle. It increases your oxygen intake to help you rejuvenate. I am thankful for this video to have found you. Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us.
You're so kind. I am grateful to have found you as well. I now have more energy and feel very peaceful. I have short term memory damage due to the stroke but I believe that this will improve greatly in time. Ironically, I remember my dreams almost daily and shortly after I started your Qigong exercises, I now remember multiple dreams when I wake up. 😁
Good morning, I found you over 2 years ago, and enjoy your Qigong massages and the routine. It brings me so much peace. The background music of nature is wonderful.Thank you for posting your wisdom ! Blessings!
This lady has a wonderful Energy. Beautiful smile and excellent movements. I would love to know the amount of decades she has been practicing! Most authentic version I’ve seen so far.
@@eightpieces just about to start teaching a class in The Cayman Islands, resident acupuncturist here. Nice to meet you ma’am. Thank you for your videos.
Thank you. I do the Eight Pieces every day, at the end of the day, and it calms and relaxes me. Lovely to have no music or speech, only the sounds of birds.
Since I discovered this video, I practice with you daily. It's just what I needed at this moment. It helps me to feel my body and what it tells me, more accurately. It would be wonderful to see more of you! The fact that the video has no speaking and is recorded in nature, makes it even more empowering and a real treat to do. Greetings from Belgium!
This is my morning practice about six days weekly for more than a year. Most of the exercises I find are helpful to me with my eyes closed and in silence. This can be helpful for breathing and concentration. Thank You Sifu Young for this has been most profitable for me in my senior years. CMJ Canada
Although we try to keep a low profile, you have been a most wonderful advocate for our video. Thanks for your persistent working out using this video and sharing your experience with our viewers. Your support is much appreciated. As we celebrate two years on UA-cam, you get a trophy for being the best participant!
So nice! Been sitting with manic energy for weeks not knowing what to do with myself, can't concentrate, etc.... did this and can't stop smiling. All the excess energy has gone away but I feel alert and focused :)
A perfect illustration of the 8 brocades. So easy to follow without irritating commentary, good camera angles and I enjoy the birdsong in the background.
This form of the eight brocades is very gentle making it very suitable for seniors. The explanations are excellent and the smooth transitions between each brocade makes the whole exercise a moving meditation. Many thanks
I did tai chi for many years, Yang style and Chen, but somehow I stoped and forgot the movements. I used to love so much and it was very important in my development and health. At this quarantine time I was looking for simple qigong exercices and I found this. I love your smiling face, the sounds of birds, the silence and concentration, the sun at your face. I do it every day with all my presence and I feel my legs stronger, the capacity of my lungs expanding and a state of peace. Thank you so much for being there. Keep safe and healthy :)
I would LOVE if you made more demonstrations. I LOVE that you show and write, and that the only sound are the birds singing. No talkning that disturbs my focus. Thank you ❤
I have been doing this every morning (except for three days I believe) for 5 months and I love it. This lady is my favourite Asian lady. She helped me in many ways, especially with my breathing, keeping my energy’s high and keeping my chakras in balance. I’m eternally thankful, thank you!
Thank you so much for your kind comments. I am honored to share these ancient treasures with you. Continue the good work. Enjoy and good health to you!
I love that the whole video has no speech, just the bird singing🤩🤩 Qigong is truly a gift that allows us to tap into our body's innate wisdom and tap into the boundless energy of the universe. This video has not only taught me valuable techniques for self-care but has also inspired me to explore further into the world of Qigong and its numerous benefits. ❤❤
oh my goodness..... whilst looking for a beginners Qi Gong video I came across this!!!! What a little gem! What instantly appeals to me is the fact that there are no spoken words....in fact the birdsong, I think, is a real bonus...it seems to add to the serenity of the exercise and increase the feeling of wellbeing. I haven't yet performed the movements.....BUT I just know that I can already sense that this is going to become my regular go-to . I'll keep you updated on my progress...and I'll check out your other two videos too. 🙏
We are delighted and proud to share these qigong exercises with you. Your enjoyment and encouragement made it all worthwhile. We are fortunate to have a talented videographer who made it all possible. Enjoy the peace, serenity, and good health as you do the exercises.
I have searched for a video for a first time Qi Gong and this is the one I picked; I love that there is no talking and even no music, just birds singing and how fluent yet simple and relaxed movement is... Thank you so much, you have me started to something precious, I will keep following you and will try to practice with you every day.
Wonderful to hear that this video found its way to you. After a short time, I found that Qigong practice became part of my daily routine because I felt clear benefits. I wish the same benefits to you in 2022. Best wishes.
I've been doing this daily for a month, what an improvement in my overall fitness and well being. So gentle and meditative! I'm 62 and plan to do this for the rest of my life.

I just moved to a new city for work, I know nobody here and the flat doesn't completely feel like home yet. So I've been very anxious and my panic attacks are getting out of hand again so I decided to try this alongside my anxiety medicine since my doctor recommended it. And it has helped a ton. Thank you so much for sharing this routine with us.
@@gravitas3900 You are so kind to share your thoughts. And yes, doing this routine daily is very good in keeping us calm, relaxed, and energized. Best of health to you and Sylva Mori!
Hi Sylva..,.we don't know each other, but i send you my best vibrations of Love and Light..don't forget, you are worthy, beautiful and loved. Best regard.
I absolutely love this routine. I find myself coming back to it often. The serenity I feel when practicing while listening to the beautiful birds is unreal. Thank you so much 🙏🏻❤️
I've been sick a long time. I'm trying to build back up.. I can really feel these movements. I took a break after 13 minutes.. but my hands are warm. The breathing at the right time the right way is something I'll have to get used to.. I will continue in a minute.. Thank you for uploading these!
These gentle exercises are helpful to do during convalescence. You are right in taking a break when you feel tired. Deep-breathing is very helpful. It takes time to get used to it. Be patient with yourself but don't give up.
Excellent! I love the pace, the instructions, the setting. No music, no talking, just gentle sounds of nature, and very slight sounds of traffic on the bridge behind her. The pace was just right. I was surprised at how warm I got doing these slow gentle movements! I'll be following along with this regularly. Thanks!! 🙏😁☮
Your words warmed my heart. This exercise is a form of active meditation. The video was made to encourage the meditative mood. You really shared our thoughts and efforts. Thank you so much!
@@eightpieces Yes, it's just what I needed. I decided to try some Qigong to practice before my sitting, or standing, meditation practice, to enhance the mind-body connection as I practice The Four Foundations of Mindfulness. When I was ready, the teacher appeared! With Metta 💕🙏
I too am recently using qi gong before my Buddhist meditation sessions. I am finding that doing so before sitting (or recently, standing) meditation really helps clarify the mind. [It's still as active as ever, but I seem to see it more easily now.] Incidentally there is a monk named Ajahn Sucitto who advocates qi gong as an adjunct to meditation. You can see what he has to say at ajahnsucitto.org/extras-3/qi-gong/.
@@jwright123456789 Hey, thanks for sharing!! I read the bit about his experiences with Qigong, and kayasankhara, and will definitely watch the video and Dhamma talks. It was during a recent retreat led by Bhante Rahula that I experienced a more holistic approach to the breathing-body mindfulness. He teaches yoga for meditators, and he mentioned Tai chi and Qigong also being helpful for many folks. I found the basic pranayama and stretches he led us through right before meditation to really help me out, to give attention to the body and quiet the ever-so-chatty mind. The little bits of Qigong I've found and done really fit in well for me, more so than yoga. Thanks again! 💕
@@AH-cy4md I've also been drawn to QiGong more so than Yoga too. Your original comment that started this conversation really sums up why I love this video too. A lot of great energy inspired by this video 👍
Truly one of the most pleasant, authentic and easy to follow videos of Qi Gong I have seen in decades. The sole nature sounds and the beautiful energy of the lady are delightful and set us in the appropriate mood and frequency. The discreet and yet precise descriptions explain just enough while the changes of angles help very efficiently to understand each movement and their energy. Congratulations for this gem Eight Pieces. This is in my daily practice now. I really hope that more will follow and maybe even easy sequences of Tai Qi. Thank you!
Thank you! You recognized it: " The 8 pieces of silk brocade" is a real gem. A life-changing experience! We made a sincere effort to present it to the world. Viewers like you made our effort rewarding. Thank your for sharing your thoughts. You encourage us to continue our efforts and you encourage others to view this for the first time. How wonderful!
Well I commented on first finding this and said that I would update my thoughts after having practised this for a few days. It's been 10 days...I now don't have to look at the breathing guidance because my body has already worked out when to inhale and exhale...it just seems to happen so organically! I do this sequence before anything else and have found that I don't really want to look at or check my phone or engage in any tech...for some while afterwards! This is a real little gem and I'm so glad I stumbled upon this version. The birdsong is exquisite.🙏🙏💜
That is absolutely wonderful. When you practice with concentration and patience, you will receive all the benefits from qigong. Enjoy and good health to you.
I really enjoyed this and look forward to more videos! I like the sounds of nature which are also relaxing. This is so different from other videos because there is no talking, only written cues. PERFECT! This made it much easier for me to focus and be mindful. Please continue this format.
Please make more videos! I love this video - I feel the movements stretching the muscles, circulating the blood, and helping me breathe more deeply. I also like the subtitiles and the peaceful nature sounds in the background - talking in the video would ruin the entire experience.
I am so glad you like this video. You have certainly found and pointed out the essence of our goal in making this video. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.
And about three years after finding this amazing lady, this keeps on giving me the same blissful feeling of peace. Gracias y gracias. Hope you’re doing very well.
I referred this video to so many people on line who have no clues about qi gong. And each time I come back to get the title and heading, I still watch her, listen to the music and love her so much. She lifts my spirit and makes me think of the number of people she has helped to alleviate their suffering. My deepest gratitude each day to her and Eight Pieces staff.
. I am very glad you found this video helpful. Your kind comments have no doubt helped many to try qigong for the first time and benefit from their practice. Thank you so much!
Thank you, Im doing your eight pieces every day. If you can recommend any sequence for chronic illnesses in general than that would be most welcome. Anyway you take care I will keep an eye out for more videos !
Yes, slow breathing does not come naturally for many of us. However, you may achieve it by breathing deep and slow whenever you think of it. Remember to expand your abdomen muscle when you inhale and shrink it when you exhale to get rid of waste air. Good luck!
I just love this video.. easy to follow, good instructions, favorite part is that there is no music or talking.. just nature sounds.. I'm in a meditative state without even trying with this video.. thank you!
I only began QiGong about 3 weeks ago and I love this practice which is now an integral part of my day. The Crane spreading its wing is the most calming tranquil move I have ever done in any Yoga or other practice
It is so good that we could practice these calming and energizing exercises together. Please keep up the good work. Have fun and enjoy the health benefits.

I've spent a good year of my life on this planet doing this practice and am grateful to be here.
I share your sentiments often. Thanks for sharing!
Spending a full year doing something good for yourself is to be congratulated. Continue your good work and good health to you!
Has it helped you stay in shape physically
I just started and i love it , easy to doe. I am 76 years.Thank you for posting it
You have picked an excellent time to start doing qigong. You will notice the benefits very soon. Have fun and good health to you!
I did this everyday during the 2020 lockdown and it truly kept me sane. I've found it again now in my busy, busy life and it keeps me sane all over again. Thank you for a wonderful 20 minutes.
Thank you for sharing your experience. Many viewers find this routine helpful during the pandemic lockdown.
Although we do not understand how the neural circuits work in the brain, more activity is definitely encouraging. Happy to hear this.
Good morning, I found you over 2 years ago, and enjoy your Qigong massages and the routine. It brings me so much peace. The background music of nature is wonderful.Thank you for posting your wisdom ! Blessings!

This is my morning practice about six days weekly for more than a year. Most of the exercises I find are helpful to me with my eyes closed and in silence. This can be helpful for breathing and concentration. Thank You Sifu Young for this has been most profitable for me in my senior years. CMJ Canada

I am so glad this channel found you! I started Qigong after I retired, and now I also do this routine daily. Good wishes to you.

Thank you for such kind comments. It is my pleasure to share these ancient treasures with the world!

Please make more videos! I love this video - I feel the movements stretching the muscles, circulating the blood, and helping me breathe more deeply. I also like the subtitiles and the peaceful nature sounds in the background - talking in the video would ruin the entire experience.

Slowing the breathing is the hardest part! This was such a peaceful, mindful routine. Loved it, thank you.
I'm in a meditative state without even trying with this video.. thank you!
