Another tip! When using a spanner/wrench on chrome fittings slip a bit of card/paper between the fitting and the spanner so you don’t scratch the chrome. It’s usually a very thin layer and very easily damaged. Other than that it’s looking gurt lush.

Pay no heed to the nay sayers 😊 Looks like you have hit the 70/30 point in the build. 70% of the build gets done in 30% of the time and the last 30% of the build takes 70% of the time. You're both making a very good job of your boat, nice to see youngsters having a go and problem solving for themselves. Keep it up, well done you two :-) Check your gas pipe fixing with BSS, there have been some changes to how close the clips have to be near the appliance fixing, it used to be 12 inch, but it's now 6 inch - I'm fairly sure the rest of the fixings are to be spaced at 12 inch though.

The Italians are a very good example to be fair, it’s partly medical (been living with a bad scalp condition for a few years, been to the doctors tried all sorts of potions), cutting down on caffeine atleast has helped a bit. Gradually bringing it back to see what happens as really don’t want to live without it 😂

You may have gold as well, I just noticed the kitchen and bath fixtures. Which by the way are beautiful.

Hi Danny just wondering which wood you are using for your cratch. We’ve got to know a joiner boat builder James Edgley based at Swanley Marina on the Llangollen canal amongst loads of other jobs we required a piece of wood the bit that raises the cover up and it turns out our cratch is made of Iroko I think the only other one he recommended i can’t remember but he said oak will move to much with the weather. Hope it’s of use yours is without doubt the best self build on utube/the cut 😂😂. 👍🖐NB Fiddlesticks.
Yeah so we are using Oak, it’s British though so slowly grown. We tested a few pieces (sat right on top of a radiator) and it didn’t move at all (which is crazy for oak!), we’ve got quite a few layers of yacht varnish to go on, it’s not ideal but hopefully it’ll last a few years at least. Timber prices are crazy especially on hardwoods so thought we’d use the oak up that we had. Will keep an eye out for Fiddlesticks! Thank you!
Joe a good quick fix for your un finished draughty door.. Just push in place 15mm pipe insulation...???? Easy peasy I've put it on rubber pipe lpg with cable ties protected from sun in Spain.. Pipe insulation has lot of uses Inc low shed door openings ouch..
No need to put ptfe around threads when you have a rubber washer . You only need ptfe when its a male to female thread were there's know sealing washer and know point in wrapping around fittings with olives as the olive is the seal but if you do get a leak put a few wraps around the olive. You will all so need correct ptfe for gas connections.
I believe people's aesthetic preferences should be respected no matter what. Except for those pink walls and doors! Those are just beyond the pale! ;-)
Not sure where you are putting your inverter but make it as close to the batteries as possible. That way you only need short DC cables (the expensive 120mm^2 stuff). Mains cable is cheap, so run the distances as mains not DC. If you can, obviously. Pressed send just a you mounted the inverter 🙄
@@ItsOhJoe Hi Joe, two other points you are probably aware of, but just in case. First run the pos and neg as close together as possible for the run between the inverter and batteries. Second get yourself a precharge resistor (I can send you one) ... The inverter has huge input capacitors and when you first connect the circuit to the bats this will cause a huge inrush current which can be destructive if you happen to break the circuit just as you make it (happens!). The way to avoid this is to use a resistor in series in pos wire to make the circuit. If you have an isolation switch in there anyway you can install with the switch OFF, jump across the switch with the resistor for a short time, then turn the switch on.

I when I installed the inverter in the van we had that was the first time I learnt about capacitors, was a bit of a shock as you can imagine 😂 I had planned to use an isolator switch with this one, so if I put one of these resistors across the terminals in the switch it’ll charge the capacitors and then I can turn the isolator on? If you could let me know what spec I’d need I will get one on order the inverter/charger is 3000KVA / 2400w IIRC, thank you

So Danni has worked full time as a nurse throughout the build (to help fund it) and I (Joe) stepped down to 2/3 days a week working at the builders merchant I’ve worked at for a while but recently stepped down to focus on the boat and videos full time.
It’s a shame your working on your own Joe as doing all the boat up must have been hard work! Who’s that lazy bird who spends most of the time sitting down or lying in bed?

The inverter has huge input capacitors and when you first connect the circuit to the bats this will cause a huge inrush current which can be destructive if you happen to break the circuit just as you make it (happens!). The way to avoid this is to use a resistor in series in pos wire to make the circuit. If you have an isolation switch in there anyway you can install with the switch OFF, jump across the switch with the resistor for a short time, then turn the switch on.

I when I installed the inverter in the van we had that was the first time I learnt about capacitors, was a bit of a shock as you can imagine 😂 I had planned to use an isolator switch with this one, so if I put one of these resistors across the terminals in the switch it’ll charge the capacitors and then I can turn the isolator on? If you could let me know what spec I’d need I will get one on order the inverter/charger is 3000KVA / 2400w IIRC, thank you

So Danni has worked full time as a nurse throughout the build (to help fund it) and I (Joe) stepped down to 2/3 days a week working at the builders merchant I’ve worked at for a while but recently stepped down to focus on the boat and videos full time.
Working man can't live on lentils, get yerself good old bit of dripping on toast lad!
We used to make beef dripping roast potatoes and god were they good 😫
