Batton down the hatches folks. These two adorable numptys are unattended roaming free on the Thames with plenty of rain incoming. Things are about to get wild! 👀 👍
Hi, a little hint about top-gates opening again and playing their own game: open the paddles on the bottom gates just a little to get a stream through the lock, guess you already know that though.
Hi Guys, Like so many others, I wish to express my appreciation for the time and effort that you put into producing your videos. Your efforts have given me much enjoyment and taught me many things about both your life as “canal gypsies” and England. It now saddens me to inform you that I will no longer be watching your videos. You deserve an explanation and here it is. Just recently You Tube informed me that I had to drop my Adblocker in order for me to watch the videos. I did that, and in doing so I got to watch as many as 4 ads during a video. I do not watch your videos for the ads but, as mentioned before, for the entertainment and education. Thank you again for sharing your adventures and if things change then I will be back. Have many years of safe boating and adventures. Mark Alberta, Canada
I was at a Mississippi blues competition for the international blues championship to be held in Memphis in the new year. I will watch you in the morning.
Heidi, The Narrowboat Pirate, does something with her barge pole (don't be rude. She uses her barge pole to lock the lock gates closed. It saves her from doing the Dannie shuffle.
I wouldn't worry about the non tidal Thames (above Teddington), it just flows a bit :) I helped take a Historic 45' BCN tug from Brentford to Limehouse and back many years ago, and that was interesting. We had to sandbag the front doors as it's a bit choppy, especially under the bridges.
Great Vvlog guys, I found myself ducking when you went under those bridges lol..... that was awesome so glad you are doing the thames, wait till you go under the london bridge............ i've heard it is amazing and seeing Big Ben from another view from the river, this would be amazing can't wait............. thank you for sharing, I've been here since your beginning and still enjoy watching you and and how much you have come so far. keep up the goood work.
Admittedly I started watching because of the narrowboat but honestly if you put a video up then ill watch. you two clearly are comfortable in front of the camera and it suits you. keep up the good work ! all the best 😁
Hi D and J please please please watch out for the flooding it can be quite serious, be careful. Most moorings will cost between £8- £12 per night but it will open your eyes to the beauty of the Thames. Be safe .
@@ItsOhJoeCheck out 'Cruising Alba' with Miles and Marina who usually wild moor every year on the Thames. They have some lovely favourite spots which are free - but I'm not certain about flooding times??? PM them to check? 'narrowboatwill' is currently on the Thames and doesn't like paying for mooring unless he absolutely has too. Might be worth asking him as he's a very friendly and helpful solo permanent cruiser?
Next time you come across a lock where the top gates won't stay closed, partly open one of the lower lock paddles which will allow the water to flow through the lock, which will push the top gates closed
Joe, because of the nice way you speak to us and your comment about your camera work I've just watched the first vid, and yes your skill has definitely improved and it really shows the benefits of mics. Plus it was a very enjoyable video 😀 and P S. Theres a st Michael's mount in Cornwall which explains Danni's confusion 😊 well done both of you 💜
Thank you really appreciate it! Yes that’s exactly what she meant, we’ve actually been there and it’s very similar originally this one was only accessible via low tide or boats too!
I like this one, I used to manage the water treatment works at fobney lock. The old pumping station used to be a right pain in the butt with people breaking in. You would have gone right past the newer intake point further up!
Great stuff,i used to live near Reading, worked in caversham ,lived in Purley, fished there right up to pangbourne ,a lovely area for fishing and the country side👌
Just a quick note from my experience, I found that Nappy pins can detach overnight so I am going to change to Chains which hopefully should be more secure. Love your Vlogs Cliff
Hi Joe and Danni, just watching your vlog and i noticed how your little faces lit up when you were entering Reading you both seemed to come alive, as apposed to cruising in the countryside, or is it just me !! Love your vlogs you keep it so real. 👍🙏.
Thanks Margaret! It’s not necessarily reaching a built up area it’s just reaching another point without the boat breaking down or getting caught by a river current etc - we have both been quite worried about making it in one piece to be honest so every stop is like a little relief 😂
Hi Danni and Joe, I always enjoy your videos. It’s wonderful watching you live your lives to the fullest. Have fun and stay safe on all your adventures ❤️❤️

Hi Danni and Joe, What a beautiful trip you are having. I was going to mention about the Thames flooding, and I see someone else has mentioned it. At the moment with sun only a few months of the year a generator is still the better option than these powerbanks. I mean if you are ccing why bother having a generator to charge an ecoflow when you can just use the generator .They are not practical to carry to take them to places to charge for free it is to much of a struggle .There fine for a few days camping but I just dont see how they fit in with fulltime boat life

Oh yeah the Mississippi is huge we drove across it on our states trip but compared to the narrow canal we’d just left that’s how it felt joining the Thames!
