    5:50. " fold fold fold fold fold fold ". The best poker player i ever knew had a saying " the KEY to poker is aggression ,the SECRET to poker is folding ". I'm not sure if that is true but i never forgot it.

    If Phil had just a little more targeted aggression he would be the all time money leader and several more bracelets and WSOP titles.
    I'm impressed he still produces results with the new age of poker players.
    To my knowledge, he has not played against the top AI bots that are beating the top pros in demo games. I would love to see how Phil does against the top poker bot.

    This is an interesting presentation.
    Phil seriously has an elementary view on holdem, but his grasp on that elementary view is astounding.
    His simple game is not complex, but it is extremely difficult to play against.

    Poker has (probably) 4 main factors;
    Statistics
    Patients
    Bet level
    Personality
    You won't win if you can't align with the last one (or any)... Whether with it or without it, you'll lose the second factor to it if you're hating this presentation because of it. Lots of players have a big ego... Phil Hellmuth's has a grey ego... Can't hate it or love it (despite outside of poker he is very likable)... He has etiquettes... This presentation could be tony g being a pure asshole which you still have to size up, tolerate and maybe use against him in a game.
    Then again, I doubt everyone here will bother listening...

    • @yukothekid3423
      @yukothekid3423 7 років тому

      stefstefstef6789 wrong it had everything to do with image. choose an image and use it to ur advantage. Phil used the safe tight Image to induce unnecessary folds, I like to use a aggressive image to get unnecessary calls.

    • @stefstefstef6789
      @stefstefstef6789 7 років тому

      Image -> Patients and Personality, although you're neglecting patients. Take a look at all the winning Tournament players... they used patients. All other forms of poker (gameshow) is just luck.

      Absolutely. It really is time people stopped acting like churlish children. If he is so 'outdated' and if youtibe would have us believe he's 'terrible why does he win. Why is he successful and living a life of playing poker. Does no other pro enter these tournaments...oh they do? Why don't they achieve as much as him with their superior knowledge and talent?

      I don't mind his personality at all, but I believe strongly if he didn't come off so arrogant he would be considered the best. People hate on him because of how he carries himself, when he stops playing I believe the narrative will shift to him being the greatest

      @Arkadi Danielyan I realized it when his first slides were "my top 10 hands". then his next advice was to literally re-raise without even looking at your cards, but its okay if you only do it once every hr. you think there's some sort of missing context, but nah.

      I wrote this comment before I became a highstakes reg and had ever played with hellmuth in a real event. We played in 10k Turbo bounty. He Raised utg1 off 11b got 3b by Deoxy folded and got shown a 3, the next hand he opens utg off 9bb, Deoxy 3bs, Hellmuth jumps out of chair and says you must have a good hand this time and folds. Deoxy shows another 3. Still a bad video btw.

    What is this joke? I couldn't finish it. Unprepared, mostly talking about himself and his big ego, showing photos of politicians with him and saying nothing about tournament strategy except his big ego and his amazing reading ability.
    The first slide is about "his" top ten rule(if you read his book, one old one, when all the tips are obviously stolen form Doyle's book, just compare them ). Really? He hasn't changed that thing? Playing only 10 hands. Today? He goes to talk over a public and he hasn't deleted this slide? And shows himself with Bill Clinton? Are we serious? Is this a joke?
