I just want to thank you, Lucy! You are the first person who has actually motivated me to consistently work hard to reach my goals!! I’m so happy i found your channel!! 💕💕💕
There is so much information over internet and most of it is so confusing and scary. And the beginner workouts of some fitness models and icons are the scariest. They demotivate me so much and i feel so crushed and useless. And i am not even overweight i am just a normal looking girl. I came across your video and i felt so much better. That fitness and health is so much simple and I don’t have to over complicate it and make a fuzz over it. And not just my workouts its about life. Whenever i see your video it unwinds my mind i can focus on my goals better whether its my studies or my health and fitness. I’d really like to thank you. You sound like such a genuine and real person and not some model with “grow your booty at home”. So thank you. 😅🙂
Thank you so much for this great video! Honestly, your tips are so genuine and good, I love it. Especially the one about doing your own research and questioning authority. Everyone's body is different, so obviously everyone needs a different approach to reaching their goals. So many people try to tell you what to do because it might have worked for them or even just because they think they know better, but in the end you need to find something that works for *you*, and in the end you're the only one who truly knows your body (and your mind of course). So thank you so much!! I really love your content :)
Thank you so much! Yes I agree, nowadays there is so much information available and it easy to believe things straight away but when you question it and dive deeper the information can be very manipulated or personal. I always think it's really important for us to do our own research and form our own opinions. Its always important to listen, but also to question too! I'm so happy you agree! xx
This video is just the perfect motivation that I need right now I just start my journey to lose all my extra weight to have a healthier life and I'm very scared to fail again, but I want to do it so I'm trying 🤞🏼
Very helpful Q&A. Thanks ❤️ I remember you mentioned recovering from an injury. Do you have any advice how to spot early signs of setting yourself up for an injury? I work out about 5-6 times a week and recently I felt slight discomfort in my knees. I don’t know if it’s a sort of... “no pain no gain” type of situation or I need to take more rest days (even though I’m not tired)🤔
Hey! Thank you so much! I think the best way to differentiate discomfort and injury is if you notice improvement in rest or if the feeling is prolonged over a period of time! It definitely gets easier with experience to be able to know the difference. If you feel pain during a workout you could always back off and see how it feels the next day, if it feels ok to do that exercise again its probably just normal and just make sure you are stretching and doing mobility work... with knees it is usually something around the knee such as tight quads or poor ankle mobility. If in doubt get it checked out! Hope that helps xxxx
Hey Lucy, Such a big fan, recently watched your psoriasis video, and I've personally had it myself, and I was so happy to see someone give some decent advise on the topic finally, thanks so much for that :). I wanted to ask about your advise for this video in terms of fat loss. I'm a little worried about your recommendation to reduce calories or eat less for sufficient fat loss. initially eating in a calorie deficit can make you loose wight but the evidence for loosing fat is subjective. my worry is the effect on young people and predominantly young girls. They're constantly being told to "eat less" as a way to loose weight, yet eating less can so easily become extreme, to the extent that people damage their metabolism. in which your body fights to maintain weight, therefore resulting in plateau or gaining weight. Hence why diets have been proven to not work in the long term. Despite this I love that you recommend calisthenics and gaining muscle in your videos, as this increases metabolism, although prescribing a reduced caloric intake alone is not the best way to loose fat and maintain it. But educating viewers about metabolism and fat loss in terms of muscle gain would most likely prevent triggers for eating disorders and help young viewers understand the science of fat loss and how its increased through resistance training. I only decided to comment this because I used to struggle with an eating disorder myself, and an inspirational person like yourself recommending people eat less for fat loss would probably have made me restrict my diet even more. thanks so much Aeron :)
Thank you 😍 I love your videos and your way of talking about bodies. You really motivated and inspired me to find my way. So grateful for you and you look amazing and so happy!
I've been doing pilates consistently for months now and I feel like I need a change- I think I'm having a plateau but not a serious one. I guess I'm ready to begin my calisthenics journey since I've been thinking about it for a long time. Thank you for your useful and informative videos. I'll try out one of your workout videos soon.
I would love to start calisthenics, I currently run regularly and do some home based exercises. It would be great join a calisthenics community however I live in Doncaster and the closest place is in Nottingham 😔
You are so inspiring, I love listening to your advice 🌻 I just have a question regarding with getting strong again after an acute or old injury. Would Calisthenics help with that?
Thank you so much Cheryl! It could potentially, it would depend on the injury but if you have fully recovered it could be good! Calisthenics can be quite hard on the joints so make sure you incorporate stretching and mobility work to keep those safe and healthy! x
Great video, thanks for taking the time to answer all questions! I didn't get the chance to send one so maybe there's a chance you or somebody else can still share your experience... I already started my fitness journey and decided to try going to a parc to do some excercises "in public"... how do people react to that? I experience it a lot when I go for a run that people (especially men) do some comments(good and bad) and I really don't like it... So I'm a little bit unsure if I really want to excercise in a public space (training just at home wouldn't do the trick as I don't have all the equipment I need and hey...it's about trying stuff out.) :) Just curious about your experiences!
Hi! I know what you mean, I have experienced this a little bit too but overall I find if they pay attention they actually want to genuinely support and help you. That being said you do get some that pester you and in which case I just am a little less responsive, nothing bad has ever happened though. 90% of the time they have been super friendly and respectful and a ot have become my friends. To be honest in those types of places it is rare to see women training so it usually brings a little more attention than men 😂. I think over time you become more comfortable with it but at first it can be really daunting! xxx
@@lucylismore thanks for your quick reply, didn't expect that 😊 I think I need to give it a try and just see what happens! Maybe not taking it too serious would help a lot. Thanks a lot for your comment and greetings from Hamburg (Germany) :)
