I have to say that I stumbled down an internet rabbit hole and discovered your videos, and other calisthenics videos - and it seems like EVERYONE in the calisthenics community is just SO happy. Strong, flexible, fit, calm, and playful. I love it. It's like you've accessed the kind of movement that we all naturally engage in as children and now you get to play as an adult.
When you said that not weighing yourself enables you to have a healthy relationship with food and training - I relate so much! Thank you for saying that, it's so important
@@spottedbybarbie I used to track calories (vaguely, not to the T) when I was on my weight-loss journey -- and I lost around 45 lbs! But I definitely stopped counting as I got a better sense of intuitive eating.
Among the many things that make you such an inspiration, I particularly treasure your pure JOY in the movement, your humility and your honesty. So many people who try to set an example actually just intimidate others because they show off so much, and don't examine the stages of how they achieved what they can now do. Despite your jaw-dropping demonstrations, you make it all seem possible (with, of course, the right effort and commitment). I'm truly excited by what you show us and often re-watch your videos just to appreciate what you're saying all over again.
Thanks again Lucy for a brilliant video! No need to apologise for crying as it just show how passionate you are, which then makes your videos authentic.
You are super inspirational Lucy! I started my journey to a better life 2 months ago with your workouts and suggestions and I am losing weight, I feel stronger and I'm way healthier. It is awesome that we started the effort at the same age, I want to lose the same amount of weight that you lost and from your photos that you show us I see we have (well...you had) the same body type. So it is really motivational for me that I found someone I can relate to and that actually succeded in what I'm trying for! Keep up the motivational videos, they are extremely important. Thank u for being real to yourself and to us!
Well done Ellie! You should be so proud! ❤️ I have no doubt you will achieve so much! I'm so happy you can relate to me too - thats all I could ask for!! ❤️❤️❤️ xxx
I watched your original video back in April and it motivated me to start my weightloss and fitness journey since I also wanted to lose around 30 kilos. I've lost 11 kilos since then but still have a good chunk more weight to lose but I hope to be able to do some calisthenics. I do some strength training with my workouts do hopefully when I lose a little more, I'll be able to start the basics. More then the number, I just want to feel fit and strong. Thanks for the update and the inspiration!
I discovered your channel through that first video a couple of weeks ago. At the time I was lost, I had been trying to get fitter for years. I didn't know what to do because I already exercised 3 to 4 hours a week, I didn't feel like I ate too much or too badly, but I kept becoming rounder and rounder. Your video really helped me because I started to focus on one goal, instead of listening to a lot of people telling me to run, and do HIIT and the jump rope and a lot of other stuff that I didn't want to do. Now I've been trying to develop strength thanks to your other videos as well, and I realised at the same time that the reason why I couldn't go through a yoga class was because I had absolutely no strength in my arms. Now I feel more confident, I've seen results after 3 weeks! I'm taking pictures too and it's really helping with my motivation. I even nailed your intermediate workout video!!! And the most important thing, I'm less stressed. I used to be stressed about going climbing, or walking too much or even do yoga. Now, I can enjoy my workouts. (and all this because I was drawn by the fact that you're using the metric system ;-)) Thank you again. What you do is very helpful!
Oh my goshhhh I love this so much! It encapsulates everything I think and feel and means the absolute world to me! Stress is such a big contributor as well and I am so happy to hear you are experiencing less stress! Well done you you are KILLING it ❤️🌟! xxx
You have said probably the most important thing to know: consistent application leads to improvement, but you have to be prepared they will not come when you want them to. This was exactly what made me fail over and over again...I used to be too focused on my scaler. I started you workout bodyweight for beginner three week ago, I trusted the process and...improvement are coming 😄. Thank you Lucy, best personal trainer ever ❤️
Oh man I also lost a bunch of weight with workout DVDs and it's so true that after a while they're just ingrained in you. I can still remember most of the workouts without the DVDs...and that was years ago.
Thank you Lucy. You are a very honest and motivating person. I started my weight loss journey when the pandemic started. For now I have lost 16 kilos. I have to lose another 27 kilos to achieve my goal. I think, it will take me at least one year from now. Please keep going to publish other motivating videos.
I was at my heaviest last year 222 pounds I am currently 175 pounds I have 21 pounds left to release :) the goal for my BMI is 154 pounds. Love watching UA-cam weight release videos. Its 80% diet and 20% exercise I follow a vegan diet been vegan for 6 years now. You have to find what works for you. I also count every calorie as well use my fitness pal great tool. Best of luck don't give up once you get in the swing of things it will get easier x
You inspire me so much! I've been doing your low impact real beginner's workout everyday for the last 2 weeks and I feel amazing! I now feel capable of exercise... I just needed to start a little easier. Thank u so much for that and for your kindness!
Looks like everyone had the same questions as I did. I discovered your channel just before the pandemic hit and it has been life changing. Calisthenics for the win! Thanks for sharing 💕
Thank you so much. This is hands down the most inspirational and relatable video I have ever watched. I do Crossfit which I love but I’m not very good at for various reasons. My theory is just keep turning up and eventually I’ll get better. Your video was so refreshing because it is completely different from a lot of the gimmicky stuff out there we are constantly bombarded with and aligns with my own ideas as well. I follow some calisthenics trainers already to improve my mobility for Crossfit. After watching your video I’m inspired to try some beginner calisthenics now even though it looks so friggin hard!
Hey like a lot of people, I want to lose weight. I recorded myself dancing and was shocked at my appearance. So I decided to start working out (even if it's hard and I hate fitness). it Turns out I lost around 6 kgs in maybe a month and a half. But I am stuck at 92 kg for weeks now 🙂😤. I have been practicing handstand for months in 2019 but I gave up completely and quit workout and gain over 30 kg in a short time especially with quarantine and now You gave me motivation again thank you!!
I'm a male American who just turned 56 two weeks back, and following a double-stroke after a surgery 13 years ago, I can't move my eyes and I have problem with follow-through on complex tasks as the smaller stroke was in my frontal lobe. I gained 3-5 kilos a year for 10+ years, and then solely focused on eating less maintained for two years, but now being obese feel I need to lose about 30 kilos to be safer against the coronavirus' worst symptoms (including death). I have seen a number of videos like yours in recent years, but yours is absolutely the most informative and most encouraging and most motivating to help me start my journey super-focused tomorrow morning. SO THANK YOU. And girl, I feel you about the happy tears. Bring 'em on! I'm a straight cis-gendered dude, and I happy cry all the damn time watching shows like Queer Eye and, yes, Biggest Loser (when that was a thing). Your smiles and accent are great for me, too (I love Australian films and UK series). I've been developing a way to work on routines to turn my entire life around--not just with fitness and health--using Notion and Todoist, and tomorrow after speaking to my therapist I'll start the most serious focus on weight-loss I've done ever. I've been able in the last two years to eliminate binges and focus on my true hunger, like you mention. And I've kind of naturally fallen into a one-meal-a-day routine that was never a plan, just all I need (though I do snack and even start my day with a homemade cold mocha, so I'm not doing ketosis or anything), and I've lost 20 pounds since the start of the year with almost no exercise. Now starts consistent daily walks (main cardio plus vitamin D, which also helps with coronavirus since it assists parts of both your immune system AND with blood oxygenation, a deficit of which can be a serious problem with CoViD); sweeping and mopping a room (all wood floors, so a good thing for me to do anyway), a short bodyweight/yoga routine (starting with just a few very basic exercises), and to add fun, some salsa dance practing, since I don't know it at all but live in San Diego with a lot of latinas and I am single so when we emerge from the pandemic and I'm more fit, dating will definitely be part of the agenda. Again, THANK YOU!! (Also, for you and anyone reading this, for pure motivation not directly related to fitness, I've found speech compilations just of Tom Bilyeu (ua-cam.com/video/crjXflAi8mg/v-deo.html) most helpful, or slicker "6-minute" video compilations of *multiple* self-help guru mashups (like ua-cam.com/video/c3gk_OGd_n8/v-deo.html).
Wow Lucy, you are an incredibly kind and inspirational person. Thank you for your videos. I think hearing about the 6 weeks of initial consistency before seeing results, was great for me to hear. That coupled with your intention which was simply to start a new way of living, which is another really core point. We all often start with numbers and forget to start with how we want to feel and not just look. Keep going with your great work, it is much appreciated especially given how you work to overcome your own challenges.
I’m so happy I’ve found your channel! One of the only woman training calisthenics on UA-cam and as I’m hoping to start my journey, I know your channel is going to help me!
Omw I just saw your video and it's exactly what i need. Had my 2nd baby 8 months ago and I have never weighed this much... also, I turned 30 just after having her... This is exactly the mindset I want to be in. I love fitness and playing around with handstands etc. Feeling super motivated!
You are such an amazing person, woman & coach!!! I‘ll be forever grateful to have met & known you, you really helped me be the person I always wished to be. Thanks for being on this earth!
I can’t tell you enough how much I appreciate this video! I recently stumbled upon calisthenics and am in LOVE with it just like you mentioned! It’s a fun way to work out and get stronger! Thank you for sharing☀️
Hello from South Africa. I have almost completely given up on myself. Due to a medical problem, in 2011 I weighed 170kg. After bariatric surgery, and many years and many diets, I eventually got down to my lowest weight as an adult (while 170 was my worst, I have been overweight my whole life), 95kg. I am currently 125kg. I feel like I have lost the same 30 or so kgs over and over and over again. I have an incredibly bad relationship with food and certain personality and mental traits make food choices and goal setting and just in general making kinder decisions for myself almost impossible. I watched your video because I love the way you go about presenting yourself and your passion and not for one moment thought I would be writing this long ass message almost in tears. As an almost 45 year old female who is incredibly logical (but also stupidly emotional and self destructive), I think it is safe to say I am desperate to find something that 'clicks'. Something that makes sense. Sjoe what a long message. Just to say thank you for your video. The exchange rate between our countries is a bit ridiculous, but I am going to shuffle a few things and see if I can buy your beginner bodyweight program. Because I really, really don't want to still be floundering and loosing the same 30kgs for the rest of my life.
Jessie you can totally do it! As for eating, I so so recommend The last diet or The kindness method by Shahroo Izardi. I have both books and they 100% healed my destructive relationship with food and myself xx
Aww thank you for your comment! I'm so happy you feel my. videos help - that means the world to me, after all we are all in this together! It can be such hard work to pull yourself out of a destructive mindset or pattern of behaviour but constant effort and working on it will pay off in the long term even if we don't feel like it! I know you will be able to do it!! I can't wait to see your progress with the bodyweight beginner program! Let me know if you ever have any questions! Have a beautiful day ❤️❤️
You being so excited about calisthenics makes me believe this can become my passion too ❤ I'm still on my weightloss journey but I can't wait to finally master a pull up! Thanks for being such an inspiration!💕
Wow Lucy, I simply looovvveeee this video. Oh my hat!!!! This is reallllyyyy amazing. Thank you for being so honest and vulnerable and showing us your passion.
Brilliant video! :) calisthenics is a revelation for me - ive never been into cardio very much, i always get bored - ive always been more interested in slower more gymnastic monkey moves! I had no idea it had a name! Would love to see more content on it
I got started into Calisthenics because of your old video!!! But then pandemic happened and I lost my motivation. Now, watching this new video, I'm so pumped again!
Love this video! This answers so many questions I've been wanting to ask you, so thank you. Your passion for calesthenics is infectious and I love hearing/seeing you talk about it 🧡
Just came across your channel, you seem like such a sweet person! :) I've lost +20kg so far and have now really started to love running. I'm moving in September and want to get a pull up bar for my new place - my arms are weak as spaghetti and I share that chin up goal with you 💛
I love this. You are so motivating. I'm just not starting to try and get into shape. I get so mad at myself because I used to be the cheerleader, volleyball player and the girl who played basketball in college... now I can not even run 30 seconds without dying. At my best I struggled with body weight exercise and this time that is where I want to start .

I just started excersicing after years and years of doing nothing for my body. I haven't had the courage to weight my self and honestly I have no idea what Im doing...but finding your video is so cool because all Im trying to do is walk/jogg everyday and some yoga here and there, and try to eat smaller portions. It's scary, but all I can do is hope that this is better than just doing nothing, and hope it makes sense 😔
I feel everyday I wake up and it's the same question... what will I do today to loose 20kg... Then I do so well all day and at night I just loose the plot... what is up with that... and what can I do to stop this cycle😢
Hey Marianna! Try not to think about in such a daunting way... try to shift your thinking to what can I do today that will be sustainable and help me work towards my goals. Small steps in the right direction add up a lot over time! Also if you are being stricter or harder on yourself throughout the day then you may be more likely to want to 'let go' in the evening but if you enjoyed everything and felt fulfilled throughout the day you might not feel the same way in the evening. It's all about balance and smaller choices! You got this! x
For Calisthenics training, how would you start. I am an absolute beginner and I do believe it can really help with my weight lost journey. So what would you recommend beginners to do?
Thank you for being you. 🥰 I said it once and I'll say it again, you are definitely the person I aspire to be like in the near future God willing. Love you sister. 😍😘
Hi! I wanted to ask you if you noticed any health problems throughout your weight loss journey? Especially as a women - did your period change, were your hormons messed up, were you really tired at the beginning, did you take vitamins etc. ?
Watch all video when you were talking about exercise. Pushups taking movies will workingout I just says okay I'm not the only one. I wish to get some support from the kind peoples to keep going and not giving up. I'm glad I come cross your video
Hi, I’m a 51 year old woman who is clinically obese I stopped exercising a decade ago, to be honest it always felt like a bit of a chore, however, as I age I appreciate that I need to maintain some level of fitness, strength and flexibility to continue to live as healthy a life as possible. I have binge watched about 10 of your videos now, you have really got such an approachable and realistic way of communicating which is so lovely and inspiring. Do you think an unfit woman in her fifties could start to do calisthenics?
Lucy, your 2 videos are amazing and very inspirational! Would you be able to make a video about your calisthenics journey specifically. Also were you always flexible? I am 41 and not very flexible but I'd like to learn calisthenics. Infact its my birthday in 2 days and its my goal to loose about 13 kilos and learn calisthenics before I am 42 !
I have a colleague who is very heavy but does eat healthy and does some exercise but she is constantly going up and down with her weight. When we are eating lunch in the staff room I notice how huge her portion size is. Read up on appropriate portion size for the food groups and try to slowly reduce until you are eating that size.
I do need to get under a certain weight so I don't squish my horse. Also for my powerlifting. So nothing to do with my looks. Just something I have to do.
Hi I have recently, starting dieting and excersising, and I was shocked when I realised I wasn't eating enough to fuel myself for the fitness side of things, so I have to eat more

I'm currently trying to lose weight as well, and your videos really motivate me! I starting eating less and I try to go running a couple of times a week, but I honestly don't enjoy it at all. Calisthenics does intrigue me though, so would you say I could do that alternately, at least in parts? Because it appears to me like this might work mainly for already "slimmish" people, and I've got a BMI of about 32 right now. Do you think that's too heavy and too much strain for my joints? Thank you so much, your videos really motivate me!
Hello, I am so thankful that i found your video. I am wondering how did you do to not get lose skin, I am 29 and 30 kilos over my ideal wheight but I just am too afraid of getting lose skin so I keep telling my self that is better to just be fat but I know that is not right.
Love your videos! I have tried to contact you for one on one personal calisthenics training online through email and website but I haven't heard back from you.
Are you engaged? I really like your healthy and sensible approach, the fitness industry l often find quite intimidating and uses very negative words. Blooming LOVE your videos.
Hi Lucy... Love from India. M following strict diet and exercise daily... m 36yr mum of 2 kids. 27 days passed but still I don't lose not 1 or half kg.. all my family members make my fun... Can anyone go through such situations please guide me....
Start with push ups, pull ups, dips. A lot of women naturally have strong legs, so start building strength in your upper body. You wont bulk up, just the fat in belly and legs will melt off
I have just recently started my weight loss but I feel like it is really easy to get overwhelmed and feel like what you are doing is "wrong". I am currently mainly doing at home workouts (mainly cardio dance even though I am really bad at it) and it is reassuring to see that you can actually loose weight at home. I used to do gymnastics as a kid and I have joined my unis beginner gymnastics team last year. My main goal is to get strong enough to finally learn how to do a front walkover/hold handstands longer but I always thought that I had to loose all of my extra weight first. I guess I should start trying now instead of always waiting :)

K Jaime Good job! 👍🏼
I was this close to giving up and I just received a notification for your new video... I haven't watched it yet, but thank youu!!❤️❤️
Saaaame
Aww thank you!!! Don't give up you've got this! x
You can do it. 👍
Yes girl! You’ve got this, congratulations on your babies too ❤️❤️❤️ xxx
You are such an amazing person, woman & coach!!! I‘ll be forever grateful to have met & known you, you really helped me be the person I always wished to be. Thanks for being on this earth!
Thank YOU for being on this earth!! ❤️❤️
Yay. I decided to back myself and enrolled in your bodyweight beginner program. Thank you
You can do it Jessie!!
Jessie you can totally do it! As for eating, I so so recommend The last diet or The kindness method by Shahroo Izardi. I have both books and they 100% healed my destructive relationship with food and myself xx
@@saraooc6740 oh thank you. I am going to look for them now. I hope they are available here.
Aww thank you! I can't wait to hear about your progress! You've got this! ❤️🙌🏻
@@lucylismore Thank you! I'll let you know😊
Wow Lucy, I simply looovvveeee this video.
Would love to see more content on it
oh awesome! Yeah all about that monkey life!! 🙈 x
I got started into Calisthenics because of your old video!!! But then pandemic happened and I lost my motivation. Now, watching this new video, I'm so pumped again!
Love this!! Thank you 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
U are a true role model , hard work pays off
25:48 Mornington, that's where I grew up.
Thanks for sharing Lucy, some great useful factual information in there.
Love this video! This answers so many questions I've been wanting to ask you, so thank you. Your passion for calesthenics is infectious and I love hearing/seeing you talk about it 🧡
Thank you so much this means the absolute world to me! x
Just came across your channel, you seem like such a sweet person! :) I've lost +20kg so far and have now really started to love running. I'm moving in September and want to get a pull up bar for my new place - my arms are weak as spaghetti and I share that chin up goal with you 💛
Wow 🤩 !! 30kg is a lot of weight!! Well done!!
Thanks for sharing your story. You are an inspiration and I think you’re a good speaker as well. Rock on!

You got this! x
Thank you for your reply! Small step sound good.👍
Thank you for your videos; they are helping me in my journey so much! 💛
Aww amazing thank you! xx
Aww thank you sooo much xx
Lucy you are so sweet! I love everything you say in this video. It is so inspiring and motivating. ❤️ thank you ❤️
Thank you for such a lovely comment ❤️ xxx
Thank you for the inspiration just starting my journey again after having a baby.

Thank You Lucy!
I am so inspired by you.
I do need to get under a certain weight so I don't squish my horse. Also for my powerlifting. So nothing to do with my looks. Just something I have to do.
Thats awesome... if it means you can do what you love thats a great reason! x
I'm 54kg
4 day diet to eat low calories + half hour walking in a day .
Become 53.75 kg
In next other days
Become 52.25 kg
My Goal 49 to 50kg
Thank you so much for doing this!
Thank you! xx
Hi I have recently, starting dieting and excersising, and I was shocked when I realised I wasn't eating enough to fuel myself for the fitness side of things, so I have to eat more
Very good info! Thanks for posting.

So inspiring 😍
Very inspiring!
Wow, you're incredible!
Please what calorie counting app did you use?
Hey do you have guides or tips for meal prep
Hello, I am so thankful that i found your video. I am wondering how did you do to not get lose skin, I am 29 and 30 kilos over my ideal wheight but I just am too afraid of getting lose skin so I keep telling my self that is better to just be fat but I know that is not right.
What would you recommend as far as workout plan for someone with lower back problems?
How did you work on saggy skin from weight loss?
@Coach Franz thank you so much
You're inspiring 😊
Love your videos! I have tried to contact you for one on one personal calisthenics training online through email and website but I haven't heard back from you.
Aww I'll have a look through and get in touch! Thank you! ❤️❤️
What happened to the loose fat?
Are you engaged?
I really like your healthy and sensible approach, the fitness industry l often find quite intimidating and uses very negative words.
Blooming LOVE your videos.
No not engaged it's the only finger that ring fits on 😂! Aww thank you so much beautiful that means ALOT! xxx
What molecule is on your necklace? 🥺
New video...new motivation...new point of view...Yipeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :)
❤️❤️❤️
You wont bulk up, just the fat in belly and legs will melt off
You are so inspirational ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
did you or anyone in this comment section who's been through a weightloss journey, get loose skin after the weight loss? I'm a bit scared of that.
Yes I did! I talk about it in my body image video! X
@@lucylismore i watched it and it was so informative thank you! you completely changed my perspective on things! no longer scared xx ty lovely
Is your necklace pendant a molecule?
It is! Adrenaline 🤗

Hi Lucy :) I live in the south west of England and looking for company with calisthenics :) been thinking about checking the bristol scene out. Jade x
Ohhh that would be awesome, if I'm ever down there I'll let you know! x
If I lost 30 kgs I would be 30kgs 😂
Sorry not funny.
