i'm surprised nobody has used Di Lung in a bad traffic video by using "WATCH WHERE YA GOING YA FOO" yet lol
The most obnoxious character in the show yet true to life.
Baby Muriel takes the cake.
Nothing can be more obnoxious than yustis.
@@STUDlOIC I don't count a one-shot character.
True to what aspect of life?
Ah yes so true to life. All Chinese people debone people to get supernatural powers from silk worm gods, and are so smart they can morph humans into other animals instantly

Influencers predicted
This show was ahead of it's time
That was a bit based off of infomercials at the time where rich jerks push their products and books on how to “get rich quick” while demeaning the viewer for not being rich already.
These were the general scummy scammers of the time: self help gurus, stock market "mavericks" , televangelists (especially the prosperity gospel ones, blech), a high-school friend pushing his MLM onto you, and so on.
Lol indrakenz
Ricegum be like
It's completely based off of Tom Vu, the lines are almost a carbon copy.
“You no good ass dog, 2 time”
No stick??
*Watch where you're going ya fool*
That's his entire dialogue for 90% of the series
I'd say it's closer to 50% of his dialog, with the other 40% being his funny laughter, and the rest being actual unique lines, lol.
The Chinese flutes every scene he’s in 😂
or the pi-pa or whatever else oriental instrument there are lmao
(chinese percussion it seems) but damn that's comedy gold right there:
Don't forget the gongs and that stringed instruments
"WATCH WHERE YOU'RE GOING YOU FOOL!"
I like how he apparently knows full Chinese but just chooses to speak only English, even when speaking to his Chinese speaking aunt who can’t speak English he responds in only English.
He also speaks perfectly fluent English but only to his aunt. I like to think he does it on purpose.
i forgot his name and literally searched Ricegum
You know what? He does look like ricegum…i think i’ll that in the tags later LMAO
He was literally the first person I thought about when I first heard of Ricegum lmao

People selling "get rich quick" schemes to poor people to become rich themselves has been a thing for decades, sir. Tate wasn't the first, second, third, or 532nd person to try this.

7:54 Di Lung: not de boneing, re boneing
5:36 as a bike commuter, I feel this
Di Lung was definitely one of my favorite characters of the show. As an Asian American myself, the fact that he was an Asian character was one of the factors on why he was one of my favorites.
Also, you forgot the scene where the dragon steps on Di Lung’s car while chasing Courage and Muriel; and when Di Lung comes out, he shouts his iconic catchphrase to the dragon.
That's what English is my second language
To be honest character like him won't come anymore Because people are so sensitive now day he would be labeled as a "racist stereotype"
@@nilodelmundo Yup.
@@nilodelmundo I find this interesting as im wondering how western characters would be portrayed in a similar show in an asian country. Like, arent the other characters stereotypes anyway?
@@nilodelmundo To be fair he is a ridiculously racist caricature. I'm glad nothing like him would ever show up again
I love how he speaks so much more politely with his aunt. He actually sounds like a normal dude.
Easily the funniest character of the show next to Eustace when it comes to “horrible fates”.
I love when in the Mecha Courage episode he’s standing in the road, gets run over and still tells the truck to “watch where you goin’ ya fool!”
I think the Indian dr is the second funniest

Di Lung will forever be the best side character I know
🤣🤣🤣 I know I wasnt the only one who heard that
He meant to say "as dog" like the saying but its funny because it's so slick and his character fits being rude
Lol
i really like when important characters make small appearences scattered through the seasons. And i remember that whenever i saw this guy as a kid i was relieved because i knew the episode wont be scary.
