Reading the comments gave me ideas I couldn't get out of my head, so here you go. The void encompassed him, bringing with it a much needed sense of ‘safety’, no matter how temporary it is. It was unlike the first time he had been here, when he jumped off that cliff as ‘Spy’. He remembered being terrified of the darkness, not seeing anything around him aside from his PC setup lighting a small area. Just thinking about that… ‘thing’ being in here made him shiver. God… how was his family? His dog? They must've been worried sick not seeing him in his room that night. At least they would know to take good care of Gabe - the cheeky little pupper. He let out a shaky breath - which he still didn't know how. Ever since Thunder Mountain, he felt that he was changing. His body was in a ‘strange’ sort of state, almost as if it were fleeting, and… light? He couldn't tell exactly if it's bad, just that it got more severe every match. Now? There was only a floating screen in front of him, locked only into Team Fortress 2. There were no signs of his keyboard and mouse, the computer itself, and even the table. He had no clue on how he managed to even play the damned game. Just that he did - he still felt the motions of his fingers, tapping away on nonexistent keys and buttons, like it was second nature to him. The most eerie thing however, was how he could feel the class he was playing as. The feel of cloth over his face, the snug fit of the suit, the gloves, the taste of cigarettes in his mouth- shit, it was getting to him, wasn't it? And the pain… Thankfully, it was not that bad when that ‘thing’ was not on the server. But when it was… every damage he took as Spy whether it be from a fall, a gunshot, or worse, he also felt. The longer he stayed, the more real it got, frighteningly so. Wincing, he glanced at the loading screen. ‘VSH TINY ROCK’ Their salvation, and the plan they made once they discovered that the ‘thing’ is hellbent on following them after the Nucleus match. He guessed that it wanted to tie loose ends, and that it felt insulted that they have gotten away from it all this time. …It was a miracle how they got this chance. Right after Nucleus, it learned to lock them out of picking their choice of community servers, leaving only Casual matchmaking. As to how, he didn't know, but this abomination learned too quickly for his liking. He, of course, tried staying here in order to not play in the first place. Dicksalot also tried, but they were of the same thought. They both felt it trying to claw through the darkness. Thankfully, and strangely enough, they always get matched up together. They made a plan on the match after Nucleus once they recognised each other, targeting one particular gamemode in the Miscellaneous section. They made sure not to mention it outright in the chat, skirting around its name. Choosing only that game mode in the menu is not an option. That way led to actual players in the lobby, and they needed to guarantee that one of them would get put on the Blu team. Otherwise, those players wouldn't know what's coming. Besides that, they needed to finish a match with no other players quickly, so that the game would initiate a map vote while the ‘thing’ wasn't on the server yet. Fuck… Imagine it having access to the damned Australian. A couple of attempts were made, server hopping across game modes in the Miscellaneous section with a single unchosen option. Along with that… even more players were gone. It was jarring. The familiar chaos and fun that comes in a usual TF2 match immediately being brought to a chilling halt once it arrives. And the voices… God, the voices of those who used voice chat. It even learned to splice together separate voicelines of the players it took, just like in those SFM videos. Dicksalot… he took it the hardest. He tried, he really tried, but it was almost impossible to convince players that there was something wrong in the server. And even if he managed to convince someone, it was already too late. ‘It’ was learning fast. Seeing the face on whatever class dicksalot was playing actually express emotion - a subtle thing that would go unnoticed if he wasn't paying attention - was frightening, but at the same time, made him pity him. How could he not? When he just heard countless times the broken-up and spliced voice of ‘Matt’? He was starting to think that the ‘thing’ was having fun. He clenched his fist as he glanced at the screen. The loading bar was filling up slowly, along with his anxiousness. Were they ready? Can it be killed? Is this enough to totally stop it? Can they really escape from this hell? A vicious cycle of similar questions went around in his head as the bar loaded fully.
Breadolphin: ready? He could never be ready for what comes next. Actually fighting the ‘Blight’ as he calls it, makes him really uneasy. A lot of unknowns were in this jury-rigged plan of theirs. The most important - can he really hurt or even kill it? dicksalot: of course im not He replied back in chat, and then added another, eyeing the countdown timer before the first round starts. He saw a spy wearing familiar cosmetics - it was Breadolphin. He had to play spy, otherwise he would not survive this match. Breadolphin: will it come? Will it? He wondered for a moment. But then he remembered the past matches, and he was sure of his answer. It wanted them. dicksalot: it will The spy looked around, surveying the area. Breadolphin: no cliffs this time. Silence. Introspection. How many had he killed? Had he ever thought to count? How much cruelty did he embody... and to what end? How many did he condemn to hell and who did it benefit..? Two defeats at the hands of the machine had changed Gabriel. The world of the once supposed Will of God was now shattered and only he was left to put the pieces back together. They collected before the light of a dying fire that fresh fuel couldn't sustain, this new light showing the truth to Gabriel: The pieces never fit together to begin with. The supposed Council of "the people" who boasted a God that wasn't there. Gone. Vanished. The Council still chased after the light of God's fire, their memory of its words and will grown twisted and warped, and the rest of the aimless masses of Heaven follow their footsteps. The angels still act in The Father's name but His kingdom has changed. Now the fire was dying, sputtering out as the heat failed to gain purchase. Gabriel looked upon the embers with a perfect clarity. He drew his blade and held it in contrast to the dying light. In its reflection he saw a weapon reborn, no longer wielded by the will of another, but his own. He knew words alone would never sway the masses. He chose to do something drastic. Death stains the auditorium. The littered corpses of the once mighty council now strewn against its surfaces, their last gasps of life dripping down the dissident blade of Gabriel's sword. The last councilor, now backed up to a wall, scrambles for words between panicked breaths as death approaches with measured steps. "W-wait! Y-you can't do this! Out status forbids it! This is treason, heresy, murder! We are the supreme authority, our law commands you!" "You command nothing. Your words hold no power over me, or anyone else. Lest you truly believe you can talk my blade back into its sheath." "B-but the people are on our side! The citizens of Heaven know that we are just!" "The masses only follow you out of fear and desperation. I will show them there is nothing to be afraid of, for there is no species nor origin, vested rank or holy status that will stop the sharp edge of a sword." We all bleed the same blood, and the cushions of your thrones have made you weak and impotent." "P-please, Gabriel, see reason! The council follows the will of The Father! You seek to go against our creato-" "Face it, brother. God is Dead. The fire is gone. You're chasing phantoms." Gabriel's silhouette now towers over the councilor, his shadow cast upon a soon lifeless corpse. He raises his sword for the final cut as the crying mess on the floor stammers out its final feeble argument. "B-b-but the Father's light! Without me you cannot hope to reconnect with it! I-i-if you kill me, you'll be dead in a matter of hours!" ... "I know." A clean, silent cut glides through the councilor's neck, severing his spine with elegance and ease. His head falls onto the marble floor, the rest of his body following soon after. Bereft of status but brimming with purpose, Gabriel gave a final message to the angels amassed at the gates of the auditorium before leaving Heaven for the very last time. His arm outstretched, without a word, the people saw. In the silence the message rang out to the far ends of the cosmos.
Oh, I get it! The Serverblight went along with dicksalot instead of trying to kill him immediately because it is actively *trying* to learn how to fool people who know about it.
That makes so much sense! I was so confused about why it never used Matt to try and kill him until it was found out, it even explains why it voted for the vote kick!
That's the only way I can be convinced that's why it didn't immediately attack him after infecting Matt. It's either that or it just took a couple minutes for Matt to turn.
I was about to joke how utterly calm Matt was after he saw the Heavy becoming part of the serverblight, but then I realized that Matt had already been infected after he killed that Red Scout. That's why he was acting so calm! The serverblight is learning fast and it is frightening.
“Is this heven?” “Why is it so cold?” This shook me to my very core. Either the serverblight is so heartless it does this purely for manipulation, or that engie wasn’t completely assimilated yet

the soldier said that it repeats voice lines that it heard from its victims, so maybe its mimicking the cries of the heavy when he was attacked for assimilation.

One thing I really love about this is the setting being pl_snowycoast, a map that’s heavily inspired by John Carpenter’s The Thing Which is extremely fitting for this

God, the setup was so good with Matt. The first time he went "What?", it sounded like he sounded confused and needed more information. Second time he went "What?", it doesn't tip you off, it's more like he's still want information. The third time, you realizes that his tone never changed at all. Then you realize he's one of them. @@Junnyub if u go into 2fort with blight... The main mission ain't "capture the intelligence" no more, it's to survive all the creatures it throws at you ENDLESSLY.
I just realized 6:20 was another setup, the serverblight is taking advantage of the fact aaron trusts it, so it starts experimenting with different tricks to see what is more likely to work, this is further proven by the fact that not too long after it, we see jonydany12 as bait. The serverblight is USING aaron to learn more and understand humans and how they work, creepy.
NICE catch holy cow, that's a brilliant way to put it, it is literally learning to use people that other players think they can trust. Like it's testing how attached their targets can be with their lost friends and how quick they can catch onto other tricks.
Maybe it’s only pretending to try and absorb him, to keep him alive would be a good way to test out methods and adapt, for he would be much more valuable to the serverblight alive then absorbed.
The serverblight is using Aaron as a test subject.. using him as a way to test methods and adapt accordingly, it tests how much times it can use voice lines till he realizes, he is being used as a guinea pig.
@@WickedDoom12 agree and honestly, this thing ever learns a way to jump on other games. It would be freaky. This thing not only learns and experiment, it's testing the possibility what Aaron can trust or can't trust certain targets, and the fact it baited and infected Matt. Makes wonder how many times this thing manages to catch many players after learning to use voice chat.
The "yeah" struck me as odd on the first watch, I thought the Ubersaw not filling up after Medic killed Scout was simply an error, and the same "what" two times in a row had me suspicious, then the Medic reveals himself to be infected. The second watch after reading some of the comments, I can now hear just how repeated the voice lines after the Scout "dies." This is some damn good story telling.
I just realized. The heavy scene was a setup. The serverblight corrupted matt after baiting him with scout. and this was a way to make it so that aaron doesnt suspect anything, he got corrupted right after he went for the uber, so this situation was just so that the severblight could votekick itself to earn aarons trust, also explains why it didnt say that scubamaster26 left the server Creepy... its manipulating aaron,
The Serverblight might have started a personal vendetta against Aaron, considering it was *_THIS_* close to getting him before he got away. That might've made it mad. And that... does not sound like a pleasant thing.
Good catch! Note that; not just dicksalot was manipulated, but also the audience, making it less obvious that Hector0n has been assimilated. This then makes the twist hit all the harder in the end. Glad you enjoyed it, man!
@2idiotgermans932 i knew it! Also. enjoyed it? No. I LOVED IT. This Is one of the only game horrors that are both horrifying but also have a great story.
The vote kick was probably the worst thing they could have done. As Matt had said, red team was full when the amalgamation joined. One could assume that whatever this this is, it's still bound by the way the server/game works and there is a limit to how big it can get... Basically the player count. By teaching it that vote kicking is possible, it can now tear parts of itself off and 'seed' new servers while keeping it's main form 'safe'. This thing is now un-containable. Also there is the question of how Aaron is handling this exposure. People may be wondering why he doesn't just leave TF2, since he knows what a messed up monster is living in it... But he might not be able to. When he fist spawn in as soilder, his eyes are moving in a realistic way. Even if you escape the entity, you might still be partially trapped in that body. He's just forced to run eternally from server to server, never knowing what has happened to his real self. Matt may have been a real life friend that he just doomed because Aaron misses the real world and wanted some contact. While people have joked previously that the way to kill the creature is by airblasting it into a pit, I'd be more curious about seeing Aaron take the fight to a special server. One where you can fight the most players, one where you can kill most of the classes in one hit, where it's one mann versus the world. The final fight is on a Saxxon Hale map.
The last part is really interesting, a final battle between Aaron and the "Serverblight", maybe with him starting to turn realistic like the engineer from the first one, and all the information that he could get, would make a great last episode.
After a rewatch, I noticed that everything Matt said after interacting with the red scout was a repeated line. Incredible foreshadowing! If anyone's curious, here are the timestamps for each of the lines following the encounter and the timestamps for where they came from. "What?" 3:54 - 2:09 "Yeah, let's-" 3:55 - 3:20 "What the fuck?" 4:15 - 2:26 "Okay..." 4:20 - 2:22 "Aaron?" 4:37 - 2:05 "Yo, heavy!" 5:00 - 3:00 "Yeah..." 5:57 - 3:20 "Let's keep going." 6:37 - 3:22 "What?" (3x) 8:24 - 2:09 "...Aaron, you good?" & "...Aaron?" 9:50 - 2:05 "STOP, DUDE!" 9:57 - 2:37 "CAN'T LEAVE" 10:00 - 2:28
That makes sense that soldiers feel aware and dreadful after seeing a scout infected and medic felt realized this is something bad happened. Voting kick not a option about his team blue heavy is not going kick out but the rest of red team still remaining and regeneration 5:41
One detail I like is that after killing the infected Demo, Aaron only reloaded after he saw the ammo. Reloading is normally done automatically, but because he's being dragged into the game and the boundaries between him and the character he's playing are breaking down, he forgets to reload after a panicked moment and is only reminded when he sees the ammo refill box, and I think that's a nice touch.
Damn, that's a pretty deep interpretation ngl. To be honest, since we used SFM's Game Mode function to record most of the animation, I had to manually reload (because SFM is SO OLD that auto reload isn't even a thing), leading to the reload being so late ;) But audience interpretation is always welcome, so this is a nice idea. Glad you enjoyed!
I find how it uses it’s body interesting: Using Scout to scout for suitable hosts, and infecting them, Demoman for traps and ambushes, and at the end using Pyro and Demo to desperately try and catch Aaron, and when it fails they seem to return to the larger whole.
We actually had that idea floating around since the very first episode, but it never fit into the scripts. Finally got to use it here. Glad you enjoyed!
Reminded me of a scene in the dr who episode "Wild Blue Wonder" The doctor and Donna find a ship at the edge of the universe, and there they find Not Things, basically mimics The Dr mimic takes off it's tie and throws it at the ground as he's discussing with real Donna, and after a bit she notices that it's tie is gone It looks at the ground and goes smth amongst the lines of "ohhh when you take something off it continues existing!" Before attacking Donna
@@ellenneys3667 Dang never cought that, I thought because the chat bubble didn't disappear immediately once he stopped talking but lingered like the blight forgot to turn it off.
Things I noticed: JonyDany12 from the last video still got caught, despite using alt-f4 and disconnecting. He is the first to connect to this new server, so it's likely he brought the Serverblight with him. As far as we know, the Serverblight cannot create new dialogue, which is interesting because JonyDany12 has new dialogue. This suggests that he has some level of autonomy from the Serverblight perhaps as a result of disconneting but not dying. Scubamaster96 is "alive" up until 5:25 when the text shows that he's "dead" As others have pointed out, when Aaron leaves the cart to pursue the scout, this is when he's taken by the Severblight. Every time he speaks afterwards is reused dialogue which explains his lack of reaction to any of the entities. Aaron or rather the soldier he plays as, becomes more animated and life-like from the moment the Serverblight joins, to the point where he's mouthing the text Aaron types out. This same thing happened in the previous videos, where the player characters start doing things they shouldn't, like walking, taking a weapon from another class, nodding, exhibiting fear, or "talking" like GUILLIESUIT did in the first video and now what dicksalot is doing. If we assume the Serverblight is like an AI or a virus, then perhaps a side effect of its presence causes the characters to come alive. If the Serverblight is an AI, then maybe it's directive was to create more "life-like" characters and is using real players to inject life into the mercs. As an AI, it's constantly learning and needs new information to learn from, which explains why it always chases after non-infected players.
One issue The player-avatar merge Unless it's somehow on the level of AM It shouldn't be able to do things like THAT That and..... ais are good at copying data...... but shifty at adapting This thing adapts way faster than ai or virus can And we have now confirmed details 1 it wears the avatars like a skin walker wears pelts 2 the thing blurs the line between player and avatar either physically like a demented voodoo or more likely spiritually transferring the player into the avatar, the later is indicated more by what gillie suit said about the cold 3...... it is either multiple entities, potentially a hive mind which definitely warrants the blight moniker, or is a non euclidean entity that occupy many places at once or rather more bodies at once though considering what we saw with gillie......... gillie who was motherfreaking aware potentially, we may have only saw either that or the esca's of this horrid anglerfish
I think there's more supernatural elements at play. The way that models become more lifelike is probably a result of the Serverblight "merging" the physical body of the player into their character. It's clear that if the Serverblight is able to reuse a player's own voice that something *is* happening to them in real life. Whether they disappear or die is still up in the air, but something is happening to them
Somebody in the comments said that the Serverblight takes the players bodies, even if they are dead, which is why you need to jump off the map to escape and can’t die any other way. We also saw that you can’t just leave without dying first, as the Serverblight will follow you, in the case of the RED engi. Under those conditions, Aaron isn’t the only player to survive the Serverblight so far, as in the first episode we saw a Spy jump off the map and then disconnect, so I wonder if this other survivor will become relevant at some point. Edit: I went back and checked the first episode, the spy’s name is “Breadolphin”.
9:00 And just like that, Aaron saw it. The voice chat bubble was off-center. Just a bit off to the left. It was so laughably obvious. Everything clicked into place as his 'teammate' (who had he been with this entire time?) slowly looked up, treating it as casually as if it had forgotten the keys at home. _What was he seeing?_ it was perhaps wondering. It saw the bubble. Were it to expressive enough to do so, it would've made a soft, near-silent 'Ah,' of realization. The bubble disappeared. It looked back down at Aaron, as emotionless as the model of the Medic that it had assimilated into the greater whole. It began to open its mouth. Instead of words, it gagged on the hand that slowly emerged from its gaping maw. Reaching out, towards Aaron.
@@2idiotgermans932 thanks, i write fanfics so i thought it'd do this vid well if i wrote a short novelization attempt for the wham shot of the episode also, i made an edit of the serverblight teehee...
The medic gave out his hands and opened his heart to Aaron, "what ever happened to us? " Aaron stared, unblinking. "Was this really the man I loved?" He thought to himself, wondering why his friend picked medic. He knew his friend would always prefer to be trickstab "noobs" instead of being of any help towards his team. "You're not him." Aaron finally blurted out. "And even if you were, you've changed. You're not the same man I remember." "Did you love me more then?" His friend replied, "did you want me to stay as the cringe try hard that couldn't and wouldn't care about if we won or not? A troll that mayhaps had loved you?" Worried, Aaron looked toward his friends muscular outstretched arms, yearning and calling to Aaron for a final embrace. Looking up into what he believed was his friend's soulless eyes, he couldn't help but let out a tear. "What if he had changed? Did... Did he change for me?" "Yes." His friend replied as if he heard his thoughts, "I'm not the same man as before and I'm ready to try our _us_ again." More tears followed the other, "You said you NEVER want to do anything again," Aaron now crying, "You said you didn't want to remember what we were! Why now? Why today of all days? Why-" His friend cut him off by stepping towards Aaron, "because I love you, Aaron" And they engaged in sloppy hardcore gay sex as TF2 players often do.
@@2idiotgermans932 rewatching it, did aaron at 8:34 gradually begin to realize that his friend was already replaced while explaining that the serverblight mimicked everything it assimilated? like he had to have realized while explaining that "oh my god, matt fits all the things i was describing to a tee." which adds more depth to his slow, horrified turn after the third flat, emotionless "what" also wait, apparently the voice chat bubble was already subtly off-center after matt got assimilated. is that true? awesome if it is, mb for all the questions lol
Also I know I commented already but... I just have been rewatching this part and the moment of 6:54 is so horrible. This poor soul, the soul of the player JonyDany12... he has been instrumented, put out trapped in the snow beneath its frosty bite. Because to they which are actually in the sourcecode, to those like the Blight who are truly within the server. The world is real to them, but the worst part is that Jony is given back temporary consciousness. Bewildered... alone. Trapped in the ice he shivers, and the text was something he could only whimper. Lost in a feverish thought trying to even get his barings which was impossible considering his mind, we lost in a place which he never should have existed. But he doesn't even hear his own voice as he tries to ask "is this heven?" Misspelled... God it literally is bringing tears to my eyes from the grief. THIS IS A CHILD, BRETHREN, WEEP MY FRIENDS FOR THIS POOR SOUL This poor kid couldn't be older than 12! He seems like an extremely young vulnerable type of person, and I imagine this is because they were one of these young ones. Constantly being scolded for playing these M-Rated games, which he did have so much fun in. Never did he imagine that he would suffer such a horrible fate, worse than death. Which his parents made him aware of... mommy said that when he would die, his soul would move on and go to Heaven. Where he would get to live forever... and now. He is trapped in ceaseless torment, his very soul stolen out their flesh where it belonged. Cast into this wretched world at the mercy of the Serverblight... which so tortures this poor child. "why is it so cold" Even as a youngling... he still had enough understanding. To know that this was so wrong, Heaven shouldn't be like this. Like whatever is going on to him right now, which he cannot fully comprehend since it has influence over his mind and senses. It is just too horrible for him to bare, he is still very much attached to this thing. But the Blight is pure evil... the only thing matched by its intellect is its desire to do harm. To ruin the innocent, to take the life and joy out of anyone who has ever been held dear. JonyDany12... Oh, my Lord Jesus. May the fictional mother of this fictional world find peace somehow, even though her whole precious world has just been stolen from her. The Blight has left a wound in her heart more than most mothers would find *fatal* the loss of a child.
3:55 apart from him jittering, a thing i noticed is that matt's chat bubble is still active for a bit longer than its supposed to -- probably cause its still learning like, "oh wait this isnt supposed to be active now" i love this series so much
Past that part, I think all he says are repeated lines, so from that point on, Matt was apart of the serverblight and it was experimenting and learning from dicksalot.
@@2idiotgermans932I like how this creature works..it’s like a parasite slowly going into a hivemind and it’s so creepy that it’s victims are still aware or Adleast some of them shown in 6:58
@Funny_Fella6921more like one person controlling multiple bodies remember the Vote? Only 2 Beings voted the Server Light and solider, otherwise it would have been everyone voting
Alright, so the serverblight is now: Able to use text chat, Able to use voice chat, Able to kick players, Able to mimic behaviors (somewhat), Able to follow players across different servers, and Able to move unnaturally. Guys, I think serverblight is a bot. Valve pls fix 🙏
This is how real tf2 horror is made. from the scary accurate depiction of what an average match in casual is to how the players move. and the fact that you could only hear matt choking because he was the only one using vc... im scared to imagine what became of him and the other irl players the serverblight got to
@@NathanDarkson984 in a sense. Yeah, the could just be stuck there. On there computers unable to do anything, or even just disappear from the universe itself.
9:10 "Oh, the voice bubble goes away when you don't talk." This is twice in as many years that I've seen learning used as a proper tool of horror. That an alien/computer/other intelligence learning something that, for you or I, is as commonplace and taken for granted is revelatory for that intelligence. Incredibly effective. Also that Aaron guy must have a death wish if he's still playing TF2 after that first episode XD
@@chickenfarmer321 The Doctor Who episode "Wild Blue Yonder" back in 2023. If you've got Disney+ I would highly recommend watching it. Just because it's a family show doesn't mean it can't have genuine horror in it as well. And it is done VERY well.
i keep coming back to this. the medic reveal caught me COMPLETELY by surprise, i had assumed the voice lines were just being clipped for time's sake (which i dont mind personally, it makes sense) DAMN, playing into tropes and techniques on purpose to take the viewer by surprise, its extremely impressive! great work fellas, subbed
WAIT I JUST REALIZED if the serverblight can somewhat understand words, does that mean that in the previous episode, it saying "Thank you" to JonyDany was it thanking JonyDany for showing it how to disconnect and join other servers because Jony disconnected right in front of it???? the lore is so deep....... I'm so invested
That scene with JonyDany12 is just kinda sad. To me, it looks like the Serverblight is keeping him barely alive, maybe as bait, maybe as a way to thank him for teaching it the server swap?
@bananamanbanana2121 I think its more or less treating the engineer like an angler's lure, using the engineers sad agnoized look to bring people in just like the soldier
That jonydany12 scene made me cry, hes so innocent. Aaron switched to shotgun because i believe he wanted to put jonydany12 out of his misery, crazy man. But good news is, it seems the serverblight doesnt have FULL control over him, since he still could talk indepentendly, without needing the hand out of his mouth, jonydany12 might be able to be saved...
The "worst" part (in a good, terrifying sort of way) is looking back at the first video: Aaron was still able to leave after merging with Soldier... Which means Guilliesuit might've also been able to escape if he had jumped off the cliff back on Thundermountain. He killed himself to warn dicksalot and not only got assimilated but also had to watch JonyDany (and probably a lot of others) get caught too, all whilst he was having so much fun as bait - Aw shucks. Least tormented Engineer main, partner :/
I like the detail at 2:30 ish when Aaron tries to die to his rockets, he still doesn't know that HAVE to be in an unreachable place, like a place with a death barrier. HectorDn unintentionally saves him here by keeping him in the server to get to a death barrier
IT'S CRAZY DETAIL! Matt just saved Aaron from the same mistake what Engi and Scout did in the first video: killed themselves by not jumping off. It's truly the only way to escape, is jump off the map. Other ways doesn't work.
@@randomdude462 nah that heavy wasn't caught yet, it was due to the serverblight's presense that he could smile in-game, just like how aaron could express fear in-game aswell.
With the way JonyDany12 types “heven” and with him being a F2P player it makes me think that he’s just a child around the age of 12-14 years old. I think the creature is keeping him not fully transformed as a way to thank him for showing him how to leave the original server. Super sad scene can’t wait for the next video
that makes it even more tragic, and honestly made basically my entire bloodstream run cold when I read this, a child who hasn't even truly lived his life yet being trapped in this unending nightmare. i cant even imagine how much agonizing pain he must feel being bent and corrupted like that.
@@UN_Banished Makes it more darker and disturbing than The Thing. Atleast in the movie, the victims were full grown adults mostly in their late 20s or 30s. Serverblight meanwhile could have young kids and teenagers as most of its victims.
Something that I didn't realize on watching this the first time aroound -- HectorOn's voice-overs after things start turning bad are rather deadpan, instead of scared or alarmed. And it occurs to me that there were times beforehand where he wasn't on-screen with dicksalot. It may well be that certain things happened WELL before "What?" "What?" Much like the Doctor Who episode "Silence in the Library," I didn't clue into this any sooner than the protagonist did, though in hindsight I should have. It's amazing how little details slip past us until it's almost too late. This is an excellent use of SFM. I'm glad to see people are still using the program in this day and age.
I cannot express how much i LOVE this short series. Not only does it involve one of my favorite VALVe games, but it's also ingenius in the general story-telling. I LOVE how the players are AWARE of their surroundings, and are able to act accordingly onto whats happening. With how the players slowly realise that their options are growing thin in surviving, they desperatley try to come up with a solution and to escape. And some of them SUCEED. Which is another thing that i ADORE in horror videos like these, considering you rarely see it. Id love to see how this series progresses, and i love thinking about possible scenarios/suggestions, For example, what if the Amalgamation found itself in an MvM sever? How would it deal with the robots? Judging by the fact that the Amalgamation ONLY consists of player characters, its safe to assume it can only encapsulate living beings. But trying to tack on something not alive, a level 3 Sentry, one of the base game's training bots, and MvM robots, would only weigh itself down. Essentially dead weight. I'd imagine the Amalgamation slowly but steadily wear down in power against giants and heavy bots, leaving the server and being on it's way to find fresh meat. Another scenario, What if a cheater/sniper bot joined one of these "empty servers"? Not only would a sniper bot/cheater be able to prosper in hacking, since the real players would be pre-occupied with trying to escape, but the cheater could most likely help in defeating an instance of the Amalgamation. Wether it be killing the enemy team, therefore letting them be free, or out damaging the Amalgamation and wilting it down to nothing. Obviously these are just speculations and me being a fanboy because i love this series, but it'd be neat to see topics like these searched in upcoming episodes. Keep up the good work!
the part where scubamaster96 is revealed to have been taken by the blight is shocking enough but what really got me is when he begins repeating "we go together" with the * DEAD * tag. Bravo, Vince!
From what we've seen, there's definitely some supernatural element at play. The character models begin to act more lifelike the longer they are within the same server as the Serverblight. The longer a player is in the same server as the entity, their consciousness seem to be imprinted gradually into their character. It would explain why players become afraid when encountering the entity instead of goofing around with the Kazotzky Kick. Even though at this stage the player is not fully within the game, a part of them is and that fear is reflected in the Soldier's eyes when the entity joins the server. As time passes, dicksalot's consciousness is imprinted more and more. He grips his rocket launcher tighter and he stops moving for a bit after noticing the Scout scurrying. After all, why wouldn't he? It's as if he's actually there and the sense of being hunted is becoming more palpable. Finally, after dicksalot's encounter with the Demo entity, he's nearing the late stages of the process. His character is beginning to actually say what he types in chat. Then, he lowers his rocket launcher upon realizing Hector0n is an entity. At this point, we actually see Aaron "talking" to Matt. I don't mean typing in chat. Aaron is actually speaking to Matt as a person when he types "no matt" and "please." Notice that Aaron is also moving while "talking." Aaron is experiencing the shock of losing a friend and his character's actions show it. Both dicksalot and Aaron may as well be the same consciousness/person at this point. Although we only know so little, we can surmise that the only way to sever this link (and leave the server) is to leave the map boundaries. You may not have to die, rather just leave the map boundaries as the Serverblight's power can't go beyond that (hence why you're able to leave the server). Furthermore, it's unknown what happens to the physical bodies of the players captured. Perhaps the entity simply copies your consciousness into the game for whatever reason, or you actually disappear from the real world when you're fully imprinted into your character. We also don't know if the captured players are still alive or the entity is simply adept in emotional manipulation. Either way, it's a horrible way to go.
Addendum: I have an interesting theory about the Serverblight. What if the entity is just cancer manifested in the game? Cancer, at its core, are just cells who don't want to die so they spread, infect, and replicate. Team Fortress 2 is an old game. It had its golden age some years ago but a large portion of its player base has simply moved on. Metaphysically, cancer is also more common among older people so it makes sense for an old game to have "cancer." If we observe the behavior of this creature, it matches the behavior of cancer cells well. It spawned somewhere on some "dead" server (which makes sense as plenty of dead servers are old). It tries to be a normal player/bot, but it can't. It's corrupted because it's dead but it doesn't want to die. Hence, it infects. This ties neatly with why players' consciousnesses are imprinted into the game. Bots can only do so much but player-controlled characters are "alive." They're colorful, bombastic, can speak, and do so much more. By "consuming" their consciousness, the entity can have that small taste of being alive again. There are only two ways I can see this creature being defeated. Be cautious with reading the points below as they could dispel the allure of the mystery of the series: 1. The cancer is finally killed in some way, probably by accessing the console or a developer removing the creature via the game's code. 2. The cancer spreads to such a degree that the game becomes unplayable for everyone. No one wants to play the game anymore and as the game dies, so does the creature. (Alternative) 3. Perhaps I'm just wrong about this all and the creature is just supernatural in nature.
Addendum 2: With all that said, I understand now why Hector0n didn't immediately infect dicksalot. If you've read my previous two comments, this makes so much more sense. The creature needs fully imprinted player consciousnesses. After Hector0n was infected by the creature, dickaslot was still halfway through the imprinting process so it tries to stall by acting normally. When dicksalot realizes that Hector0n is an entity, it's cover is blown so it begins the chase. At this point with how dicksalot is now in the late-stages of the imprinting process, the creature might as well infect him now (especially as they're already so close to the final point).
I feel like what happens to the players that get caught up with the serverblight is that they're put under some dream-like state. It makes them feel like they are just playing the game as normal, but the constant exposure to the entity causes them to stop dissociating and facing the fact that they are no longer just playing TF2, they ARE in TF2 with this fucked up abomination. Most of the players who encountered the server blight are capable of playing it like normal TF2, but seem to show some very human actions when exposed to the server blight for prolonged periods of time
For anyone confused on why the soldier knew about the user names or isn't caught up with the story, dicksalot (aka Aaron), our presumable 'protagonist', was the sniper from the first episode of the series.
@@alessandrobahia787 agree, and how Aron is aware that the way the characters they see and play as, are tricked and used as bait, and because Matt took the bait in killing the account, that alone explains that the mimic anomaly is using the corpses codes to mangle and merge in to be a bigger mass.
that’s not what he was talking about, for those who know, Johnathon IS *PARTLY* correct with this statement, Aaron was in the very first episode, and there was another person, GILLIESUIT, who was still alive and was aware what was going on, that’s why Aaron said he remembers the names, he doesn’t remember the others….*he remembers guilliesuits user name from the first time this happened* who by the way, is assimilated
i think it's so cool that this vid isnt from the eyes of the mercenaries, but the players, which makes it extra terrifying if you imagine yourself in this situation behind the screen. and i also think it's cool that you can see the mercenaries reacting to their surroundings as if they're beings watching this but still being controlled by the player.
I love the small foreshadowing at 3:54 when you can see the medics body shake just for a split second but it’s enough to say that he’s already been taken over 😢
The way Matt said “What’s your deal with casual?” makes me think that it's been a while since Aaron saw the Blight, meaning its probably had time to grow more which is why it was so much more intelligent here. EDIT: I needed to add this theory but I believe that the only way that you are truly safe is by jumping off the map and dying then leaving, we saw scout get shot and he didn't leave we saw Guilliesuit kill himself in the Empty Server but The spy and Aaron fell off the map and were able to leave. So if your body isn't within reach of the blight you can leave even if you kys your body is still in reach of it lying on the floor. That also makes me think that you can't respawn either, which is a little more unsettling then the “can't leave” cause that means your character is just waiting for the blight to assimilate you.
I’ve just realised that after the Server-blight joins and is put in RED team, anyone who joins afterwards is forced to join RED, *and it’s camping the RED spawn*
@@vectorsahel5420 there's still the "i work at subway" guy, which didnt get balanced to red,so there's a chance he appears in the next part as either a part of the amalgam or someone who escaped
One thing I noticed in this video is that there were no Spy Severblight creatures I think. I think the only class so far that could survive from Severblight are spys because of their cloaking watch and it can't detect spy players. Hence why the spy from the 1st video survived so long
So much happened in one video the soldier "the original guy who saw the monster in the first episode." Was so traumatized of what he saw he only chose to play community servers because he saw it on a casual server. But that f2p looking engineer " was the second person to see it and instead of killing himself by jumping off the map he alt + f4 which let the monster learn how to leave and join other games."Also that heavys text going from regular to *dead* was horrifying especially since the soldier couldn't do anything to him as he was still apart of the blu team so he thought quick and called a vote. Now we see what happens to those who get caught they are eaten and their bodies are used to lure other players. And the remember the original engineer said to "kill your self." He meant it as to not let it get your body as in the original video a scout chose to get killed by the soldier who was a sniper then instead of jumping off and his body was taken and became a part of the monster and so was the original engineer and from the corrupted demoman whose body blew up but became part of the bigger monster as his body was not off the map. Really good story can't wait for the next part. Sorry for bad explanation and grammar.
Incredible work artistically. Especially the use of voice lines and glitching 3D models. I hope more horror comes out that actually uses video games as a setting and does it well.
@skyhunt9595 rocket launcher is too loud, shovel is too short ranged, might get attacked, shotgun is a good mix of both, but less loud or short ranged.
Dude the moment the heavys name went from normal to having the **DEAD** prefix put before it was bone chilling, his last words were "we go together", great shit my guy
10:39 I realized something, every player who joined the game execpt for i work at subway was assigned to red team and one of the entities was in the red respawn room. So i think the next story will be about i work at subway trying to do the joke of his username, but he realizes something is up and tries to escape, but hey, thats just a theory
3:51 if you look at the scouts left hand it has 6 fingers. In that moment Matt was no longer Matt. It’s also the same scout from the very first video that got headshot by the sniper. Guess it’s true the only real to escape Serverblight is by off the map suicide.
The realisation that Matt was one of them was SO WELL DONE! The repeated “what” was so chilling when you realise his tone didn’t change by the third one I can’t express how good this series is and how worth the wait it was
@wyslanniknewworldorder9525 from what it seems as well it can split off some parts of itself to act independently like the demomans at the end that chased soldier so maybe it can send them into different servers by them selves to spread its corruption so by the next video who knows which players can be trusted….
Idk if that's a detail or not, but between 3:29 and 3:46, the uber counter on the ubersaw is still the same despite the fact that we heard 2 melee swings, which is great foreshadowing For people that don't know, the team colored tube in the ubersaw changes depending on how much uber you have
Honestly if I was dicksalot Idk if I'd be able to play TF2 ever again, even with it being my special interest. It would have thoroughly disturbed the fuck out of me, and maybe that's what makes this series so appealing in the first place. I can really picture it happening to me and it's quite unsettling.
Something I just realized after watching this series for like the fifth time, both matches Severblight interrupts/hijacks (that have been shown thus far) have been Payload matches. now, I don't know much about tf2 & have never played it myself & therefore don't know if that's like the only game mode or smth (I'm guessing it's not), but regardless, some little hopeful part of me thinks that maybe these bombs are the key to defeating this beast, if it CAN be defeated that is
Rewatching this I just realise that the 'Drain Damage' player is still in the server because they haven't left yet. 6:44 I think they might be the spy here
also SnowDoom which is demoman didn't leave the server too and maybe was assimilated in the red team from the beginning of the match... poor guy also panderia that has been killed by Mew
I knew what was going to happen after he said “it’s learning, it mimicks their voice lines.” Matt’s been fake since he killed the scout. He said the exact same lines after that, repeated from earlier in the video. The serverblight was building trust so it could take him too. That ending too… what a setup for the next one. I can’t wait.
@@2idiotgermans932 Question: what happens to the real life player after it gets caught by the Serverblight or Miniblights? Is that what the hands in their mouths is?
I really liked Matts constant looped words which was an amazing build up to show how he got caught by the creature, I thought it was sloppy writing to re-use previously said words but it was all apart of the plot. I really enjoyed this SFM and how unique it is and i will 100% watch it again and recommend it to others. 10 / 10
The fact that Aarons face starts from being a normal soldier to actually showing emotions as the video goes on is such a good detail and shows how he slowly is getting sucked into the game
you KNOW it's good horror when you're scared to get out of your seat! props to you for making the noise at 9:18 so absolutely visceral it made me want to throw up, by the way. really added to the "this is VERY wrong" vibe of everything
I never thought of that. That's why he had been acting suspiciously calm after he saw the serverblight transformation on that Heavy, when he should've been freaking out.
@@Gentle_Dude good call, that and alongside 4:25 when it’s revealed that the infected scout, or “directionz”, was actually alive and well this whole time and ran away after infecting him… Were probably the most important hints you could get that Matt was actually affected from the encounter
I like how Arron said “please” ( 9:52 ) he’s sad because now the only person he could trust is dead. now he’s probably gonna try and kill anyone he even thinks is infected.
2:09 is when the real HectorOn said "what?" Every time after that was the imitation. This is fantastic and so creepy. That moment at 8:18 where he keeps just repeating "what" while soldier explains that the blight mimics players is horror perfection.
I love the touch of having the health and ammo regenerate at 6:44 Whenever im in the enemy back lines and see that in TF2 im immediately placed into caution. This is such a great use of such a simple game mechanic.
Yeah, if you'll listen, I have a theory that I've been sprinkling all over these commentary comments; Basically the spy from episode one, who escaped, I think he was in this game, he is stuck with Aaron trying to flee the blight forever maybe, that is why we constantly see ammo packs gone or get really dramatic shots of them, because he is cloaked and following Aaron, just watching and trying to help maybe?
@DrippyPootisI think a cool sequel to this series would be seeing the spy from the first series escaping the serverblight And watching his struggle to constantly stay cloaked so that the serverblight doesn’t find him by going to EVERY ammo pack constantly
@DrippyPootis my personal theory is that Breadolphin (The Spy from the first video) was documentaring ServerBlight, how it works, how to escape, etc. so he can get enough information to end ServerBlight. Thats why we never get to see him leave the server or jumping off cliff in this video
Here it is, guys! We've been working on this for a while, and we really hope you enjoy! Be sure to check out the original soundtrack on PossiblyLino's channel (in the description)!
@Ghfhdjjeebbehehehdhdcinah but heres the problem before it was all just red team members and it was shown we can kill these mfs ore knock em out for a low period of time but what happens if they have someone on the other team like they now have a blue medic how tf do they get rid of him unless they can vkick him fast enough
I am SO invested in this series. The execution is just so good, and I love the effort that goes into all the little unsettling details. It's all just spectacular!
The heavy voice lines reminded me a lot of a top down game called capture the intelligence. I cant unsee this as a video version of the game, great work tho!
You know I've been thinking about the nature of the Blight, so I'll post here: 1. After two encounters with the Blight, I doubt the protagonist will return to TF2. Which then brings into question, can it jump games? TF2 and GMod servers utilise the same systems for servers, so in theory, it *could* learn to jump games in time. 2. The best way to survive is to equip weapons (and) items that remove the body. The cowmangler would counter the hell out of this thing since it removes any ability to take the user's "body". 3. Rocket jumping soldiers must be a nightmare for this thing due to their high speed and aerial mobility. It simply couldn't keep up unless it caught one and turned them into one of its disguised creatures like the medic. 4. There must be certain servers, or more specifically; maps it avoids. Hightower would be a good example due to how easy it is to escape it. Meanwhile, idle and trade servers would probably be a popular hunting ground for it. Unless it can only appear in servers where you have a chance to escape, like a rule it must follow.
Don`t know about if it can learn to migrate to games that doesn`t function like TF2 since the game has it`s own engine that is Source. GMod, though, i think it would work since the two uses the same engine. The same.. with VALVe`s other source games. Imagine if it learns about the other games. The amount of bodies it could take..
I hate to point this out but JonyDany12 from the sounds of it is perhaps one of the few normal souls stuck in the server, and what makes it worse is the fact they sound rather young, being stuck in a world of horror thinking its heaven, it would of been better if the soldier put it out of its misery. May god be on you're side little one.
Now I get it, The serverblight is litterally THE THING 1983 From Team Fortress 2. - He absorbs everything on its path - He goes to every server and hacks it so You can not leave. - He now mimics the actions of the players, both movement and voices (Matt's character was absorbed when he killed the Scout, Directionz, the one who appeared in the first episode). - He can divide himself into different characters that he absorbed, so he can do the same with the others. - He can regenerate every player he manipulates to his advantage. - His Origin is unkown. - He tricks other players by repeating lines on chat. - My fucking god, He learned how to repeat audio voice lines, too 😨😨 (Please, don't tell me that Matt was Offline the game, or am I thinking too much). - He doesn't have an original face, and his only objective is absorb every player from the game, who knows what Will happen if he becomes SO powerful. - At the moment, he does not have a weakness, if there is one for a virus (THE THING's weakness was fire and bombs) - In addition, we know the real name of dicksalot: Aaron.
Something I adore is that the characters aren't the ones of the tf2 characters, but actual players, which can allude to the idea of tf2 classes being self-insert of sorts, which is something I have not seen before. Very cool. I can absolutely see this being an actual custom gamemode, like a mix between zombie apocalypse and Saxton Hale.
I think the demoman was the first actual victim after the blight joined the server and here's why; First off, at 0:14 you can see that Snowdoom is a demoman on blu, right? That's all good n jolly but then the teams swap after the match, but after everyone who left Snowdoom is one of the people who stayed. Then, later in the video, we see a demoman that's banging his head on the wall. Yeah, clearly part of the blight, but the demoman was hardly deformed unlike the rest of the people who have been part of the mess longer than him. Then, when the demoman charges, we can see that after he's killed by dicksalot his name is Snowdoom in the killfeed (at 8:02), its the same demo as before! I think that the blight spawned on top of him in spawn, and while he could have had enough time to have left the spawn on his own before it spawned in, he was still closest to it. Poor guy didnt get a chance to escape that thing lol. I dont know why i thought it was important to read into this, but I did see people talking about the medic or heavy being the first victims in this video and thought it would be funny to go "ermmm AAAACKTUALLY"
@@T-puma God help you if are still staying at that server while chilling at spawn (Probably going through your loadout), then looking at the chat on how many players are joining in thinking "oh hey new teammates and that quick as well?", then you see the Severblight spawn in and charge at you, making you a part of its own...
From what I understand as well…it seems the spread is through melee contact / touch. Otherwise, Medic would have infected Soldier with the healing beam. Wonderful work on this. Cannot wait to watch the next one!
God, this concept is so good its suprising it has never been executed this well before. Imagine what would happen if this creature got its hands on a populated 24 hour 2Fort server? All the friendlies chilling outside spawn, not expecting horrors beyond human comprehension to suddently pop up on their favorite game
Really like this conceptually. Very cool to have most of the animations be actual real player anims, and focus on cinematography. Also makes it so much creepier when something breaks the rules, and lends a bit of legitimacy to some of the more creepypasta elements.
This brings back old machinima and creepypastas vibes... And I am all here for it! Als othis is a great example of how a great story/atmosphere can make up for simpler technical aspects. I am amazed, Amazing work!
I think I know why it’s so obsessed with trying to get Aaron because if you think about it, he’s the only one to ever escape it. It knows Aaron is the only thing that can avoid it. He’s seen it and it doesn’t want other people to know.
Nah, there was one other person who escaped it, the spy who jumped off in the first video. And we haven’t seen any spys in the blight itself, so spy is most likely the class with the highest survival chance against the blight due to his various stealth tools.
Or maybe, it's using Aaron as an *opportunity* to learn something it won't learn normally Like learning human behaviors or human mind or whatever, something like that
@@Setsuzation I mean, by pursuing Aaron, it's learnt how to votekick a singular part of itself and how to disconnect and join another server. That's a fairly good reason to keep following him.
5:41 at this part it got my attention look how when the heavy gets vote kicked it doesnt show on chat it means that there is no escape and he is stuck forever i rewatched the video and i can see Aaron is scared at some part he says *wehave to leave* and sometimes presses wrong keys this means that Aaron is actually shakeing this causes peaple to not remember thats why Aaron types wrong keys sometimes
This might not be true but the way JonyDany12's "Mutations" ended up having only one limb actually affected give it the look of how he was so close to actually escaping but, ended up being infected? But cause of him leaving at the same time he got infected i say that the Serverblight learned how to Migrate to other servers and hopped out of casual server into community servers. With the wayJonyDany12 said "Is this heven, Why is it so cold" either his is stuck in between both the loading screen and the actual game or I am overthinking this. Also at 2:37 Matt tell Aaron to stop trying to kill himself at spawn might have just saved Matt. One last thing, note that everyone is asking for help either as a trick which is unlikely or the player/character is still alive but can't control themselves
(Writer here👋) That's pretty much what I intended for him. A tragic victim left to freeze in digital hell. I feel with the stretched leg, he resembles bait at the end of a fishing line...
thats what i think too, i dont think the people irl are dead but i think they cant control their character anymore and are pretty much trapped in the blight forever unless A the blight dies or B they shut their computer down and possibly since it cant go outside of tf2 servers, in the first episode the engie said "kys" but notice he was repeating his words and after saying kys to the sniper he became realistic and after walking upstairs bro immedietly died so the blight already captured him after he said kys the first time it just repeated words like it does all the time
So it seams the serverblight is starting to imitate better the models and players, now isn't a monster where all the bodies fuse, now is smart enough to use them separately as mimic zombies. This thing is learning really fast really quick...hope it doesn't get to another game.
I love how realistic the chat in the first section is with respect to the kinds of players you'll find in game - there's the trade requesters, the random foreign language player who's the only one speaking a different language on the server, the people who type memes in the chat, players forgetting to use team chat and revealing what they're doing to the other team, and the guy ragequitting at the end of the round, among others!
I just went back to rewatch the vid. That thing really listened at the beginning of the match. Everything medic said after the scout, was said before the scout.
‘VSH TINY ROCK’
Their salvation, and the plan they made once they discovered that the ‘thing’ is hellbent on following them after the Nucleus match.
The most important - can he really hurt or even kill it?
dicksalot: of course im not
He replied back in chat, and then added another, eyeing the countdown timer before the first round starts.
Thirty seconds.
dicksalot: jk. Unless?
He smirked wryly, getting what little amusement he could out of the situation. He definitely needed it.
Breadolphin: really living up to your username
Breadolphin: tell you waht, ill introduce you to my sis after this.
Eyes wide, he replied.
dicksalot: fr?
Breadolphin: no cap. Shes single af
15 seconds.
dicksalot: she better be cute, else im dating you
Breadolphin: of course she is
Breadolphin: and wtf
dicksalot: jk jk
dicksalot: unless?
Breadolphin: dick
He chuckled, then he tensed as the timer reached zero. As soon as the grated spawn gate opened, he activated his [Sweeping Charge] towards the middle, where the capture point was - where they agreed to meet in case it wasn't here yet.
It wasn't.
He saw a spy wearing familiar cosmetics - it was Breadolphin. He had to play spy, otherwise he would not survive this match.
Breadolphin: will it come?
Will it? He wondered for a moment. But then he remembered the past matches, and he was sure of his answer. It wanted them.
dicksalot: it will
The spy looked around, surveying the area.
Breadolphin: no cliffs this time.
He pursed his lips.
dicksalot: i think all the VSH maps are
dicksalot: not sure
The spy looked at him for a long moment.
Breadolphin: youre frowning
He quirked his brow in confusion.
dicksalot: what
Breadolphin: is Hale supposed to do that?
Breadolphin: the eyes
Breadolphin: why tf are they moving like that
He was frowning, yes. But on the character itself? It might be some automatic idle animation or something. However, he remembered Thunder Mountain. That engineer near the RED spawn point… Breadolphin was not taking the piss out of him. Not that it mattered now anyway.
He settled for a well thought-out response.
dicksalot: idk
The spy swung his Spy-cicle in midair. Dicksalot shook his character side to side as he glanced at the timer again.
Two minutes and fifty eight seconds.
dicksalot: spycicle?
The spy nodded
Breadolphin: just realized
Breadolphin: what if they get frozen
dicksalot: you gonna fight it as spy?
dicksalot: way too risky
Breadolphin: no
Breadolphin: last resort
Fair enough, and it is a good idea worth trying out.
dicksalot: u on dr or cloak and dagger?
Breadolphin: cloak
dicksalot: its risky
It was. Breadolphin was going to spawn near the other RED ‘players’. That initial period is dangerous.
Breadolphin: so is having the dead ringer for the rest of the round
dicksalot: ill protect you
Breadolphin: no
Breadolphin: focus on the round.
He clicked his tongue. The spy looked at him again for another long moment.
Breadolphin: im not a spy main for nothin
Breadolphin: im a matador pro
dicksalot: really?
Breadolphin: i watch mrpaladin
dicksalot: fair
He still had his doubts, but what other choice did he have? He needed to focus, the spy ‘main’ was right. He wanted out ever since that Nucleus match, where he first experienced the ‘void’ same as Breadolphin.
Damn it Matt…
Two minutes.
Breadolphin: u sure its coming

Disregarding the ominous messages, it looks like they were right. They can't spawn during a VSH round.
Then a RED box appeared in the bottom right of his vision.
“I'm - hav-ing sO - muCh FU-N! - AaRon?”
His throat constricted, the earlier anger he felt coming back in full force. How dare it desecrate him like that.
“I'm - havInG SO - MUch fun!”

“I'm - hAaving SO - MUCH f-un!”

*DEAD* wingedhussar: I'm having so much fun!
The password, he wrote it out in bulletholes on a wall in one of their matches - one for each of them. It's to make sure that he will not have another close call just like in Nucleus.
Another nod, and - was the spy shaking?
*DEAD* Ichgod: I'm having so much fun!
Breadolphin: yup
*DEAD* Ichgod: I'm having so much fun!
The spy’s mouth moved.
One minute.
Sparks erupted from his right hand - a Saxton Punch - as he readied himself. A deep, centering breath, and he released the attack towards Breadolphin.
The spy exploded, giblets flying everywhere as the end of the round triggered, accompanying with it the victory anthem.
The chat froze, there were no more new messages from ‘it’.
He scanned the area one last time, goosebumps on his skin. His heart was beating hard - he could feel the wind on his bare chest. The sun’s rays piercing through the clouds to give warmth to his-
His eyes widened as he lifted his hand in front of his eyes. He clenched it, and then opened it. He felt every single muscle movement. It was…
Breadolphin was right, they were - no, they have changed.
A feeling of weightlessness engulfed him, accompanied with a slight bout of vertigo.
It was the start of the second round.
Fifteen seconds.
A cacophony of inhuman noises erupted from below where he was standing - on the other side of the grated steel gate. He was waiting, glancing at the frozen chat box in tenseness.
Twelve seconds.
Breadolphin: glhf
He smirked widely and in relief. The spy got out then.
Ten seconds.
They have changed, he was sure of that. Gone were the phantom tapping of keys and buttons. He fully took over the character now - a raw and unusual strength brimmed within him.
He rolled his shoulders, flexing rock solid muscles as he glared at the gate in front of him. He realised just now about one aspect of their plan - No cliffs? No insta-kill triggers of any sorts in the map? No problem.
He’ll just throw it out of the map.
Five seconds.
He remembered the entire time he was in this situation. The terror he felt back in Thunder Mountain, the lively voice of a friend reduced to a choking, painful existence, the servers that fell…
A writhing body on a blanket of snow.
Two seconds.
He cracked his knuckles, arcs of electricity emanating off of them. This was it. Their plan to hopefully end this hell. The last server that the Blight will ever join.
The gate opened as the abominations shrieked below.
“I'll make sure of it.”
Saxton Hale declared.

“I'm - havInG SO - MUch fun!”

A familiar gunshot cut through the cacophony of broken voices. He turned to the spy.
Breadolphin nodded.
*DEAD* wingedhussar: I'm having so much fun!
dicksalot: remember the password?
They collected before the light of a dying fire that fresh fuel couldn't sustain, this new light showing the truth to Gabriel:
The pieces never fit together to begin with.
We are the supreme authority, our law commands you!"
"You command nothing. Your words hold no power over me, or anyone else. Lest you truly believe you can talk my blade back into its sheath."
"B-but the people are on our side! The citizens of Heaven know that we are just!"
"The masses only follow you out of fear and desperation. I will show them there is nothing to be afraid of, for there is no species nor origin, vested rank or holy status that will stop the sharp edge of a sword."
We all bleed the same blood, and the cushions of your thrones have made you weak and impotent."
"P-please, Gabriel, see reason! The council follows the will of The Father! You seek to go against our creato-"
"Face it, brother. God is Dead. The fire is gone. You're chasing phantoms."
Gabriel's silhouette now towers over the councilor, his shadow cast upon a soon lifeless corpse.
He raises his sword for the final cut as the crying mess on the floor stammers out its final feeble argument.
"B-b-but the Father's light! Without me you cannot hope to reconnect with it! I-i-if you kill me, you'll be dead in a matter of hours!"
...
"I know."
A clean, silent cut glides through the councilor's neck, severing his spine with elegance and ease.

6:20 was another setup, the serverblight is taking advantage of the fact aaron trusts it, so it starts experimenting with different tricks to see what is more likely to work, this is further proven by the fact that not too long after it, we see jonydany12 as bait.

The heavy scene was a setup. The serverblight corrupted matt after baiting him with scout. and this was a way to make it so that aaron doesnt suspect anything, he got corrupted right after he went for the uber, so this situation was just so that the severblight could votekick itself to earn aarons trust, also explains why it didnt say that scubamaster26 left the server
Creepy... its manipulating aaron,
The Serverblight might have started a personal vendetta against Aaron, considering it was *_THIS_* close to getting him before he got away. That might've made it mad.
And that... does not sound like a pleasant thing.

@2idiotgermans932 i knew it! Also. enjoyed it? No. I LOVED IT. This Is one of the only game horrors that are both horrifying but also have a great story.
@@2idiotgermans932 What happens to the real life player when it gets assimilated?
Not to make fun of you, but "Saxxon" (Saxton)
The last part is really interesting, a final battle between Aaron and the "Serverblight", maybe with him starting to turn realistic like the engineer from the first one, and all the information that he could get, would make a great last episode.
omg what if it joins a 1000x server
Im pretty sure that Saxxton hale can beat the crap out of this thing with his critical hit

Damn I guess I looked into it a bit too deeply and it was just a programming quirk lol but thanks! And yeah it was a great video.
Funnily enough, I play with auto-reload off.
Auto-reload is not always on and can be toggled on/off by the player in TF2.
@@2idiotgermans932 I prefer manual.

I like how at 9:05 when the matt mimic looks up at the chat bubble to discover its misplaced, he just looks at it like: "ah, god dangit."

@@ellenneys3667 Dang never cought that, I thought because the chat bubble didn't disappear immediately once he stopped talking but lingered like the blight forgot to turn it off.
Things I noticed:
JonyDany12 from the last video still got caught, despite using alt-f4 and disconnecting.
Scubamaster96 is "alive" up until 5:25 when the text shows that he's "dead"
As others have pointed out, when Aaron leaves the cart to pursue the scout, this is when he's taken by the Severblight.
One issue
The player-avatar merge
Unless it's somehow on the level of AM
It shouldn't be able to do things like THAT
That and..... ais are good at copying data...... but shifty at adapting
This thing adapts way faster than ai or virus can
And we have now confirmed details
1 it wears the avatars like a skin walker wears pelts
2 the thing blurs the line between player and avatar either physically like a demented voodoo or more likely spiritually transferring the player into the avatar, the later is indicated more by what gillie suit said about the cold
3...... it is either multiple entities, potentially a hive mind which definitely warrants the blight moniker, or is a non euclidean entity that occupy many places at once or rather more bodies at once though considering what we saw with gillie......... gillie who was motherfreaking aware potentially, we may have only saw either that or the esca's of this horrid anglerfish
actually, Matt has been dead ever since he tried to ubersaw the 'scout'. From that point on, his lines were repeated from what he said previously
I think there's more supernatural elements at play. The way that models become more lifelike is probably a result of the Serverblight "merging" the physical body of the player into their character. It's clear that if the Serverblight is able to reuse a player's own voice that something *is* happening to them in real life. Whether they disappear or die is still up in the air, but something is happening to them
@@SkimboReloaded After rewatching it, yeah I think you're right. Dunno how I missed that.
Also, during 9:16 the vc icon was shifted slightly away from the player

Id love to see how this series progresses, and i love thinking about possible scenarios/suggestions,
For example, what if the Amalgamation found itself in an MvM sever?
How would it deal with the robots?
Judging by the fact that the Amalgamation ONLY consists of player characters, its safe to assume it can only encapsulate living beings. But trying to tack on something not alive, a level 3 Sentry, one of the base game's training bots, and MvM robots, would only weigh itself down. Essentially dead weight.
I'd imagine the Amalgamation slowly but steadily wear down in power against giants and heavy bots, leaving the server and being on it's way to find fresh meat.
Another scenario,
What if a cheater/sniper bot joined one of these "empty servers"?
Bravo, Vince!
we go together
we go together
we go together
we go together
we go together
Addendum:
I have an interesting theory about the Serverblight. What if the entity is just cancer manifested in the game?
Cancer, at its core, are just cells who don't want to die so they spread, infect, and replicate. Team Fortress 2 is an old game. It had its golden age some years ago but a large portion of its player base has simply moved on. Metaphysically, cancer is also more common among older people so it makes sense for an old game to have "cancer."
If we observe the behavior of this creature, it matches the behavior of cancer cells well.
Be cautious with reading the points below as they could dispel the allure of the mystery of the series:
Addendum 2:
With all that said, I understand now why Hector0n didn't immediately infect dicksalot.
@@jomarivelasco5260 But was Hector0n imprinted enough?
You prolly get banned from the game forever
And on top of that, he was in the beginning of the video as a Sniper until Matt asked him to go Soldier
@@alessandrobahia787 agree, and how Aron is aware that the way the characters they see and play as, are tricked and used as bait, and because Matt took the bait in killing the account, that alone explains that the mimic anomaly is using the corpses codes to mangle and merge in to be a bigger mass.
Yessirr

So if your body isn't within reach of the blight you can leave even if you kys your body is still in reach of it lying on the floor. Now we see what happens to those who get caught they are eaten and their bodies are used to lure other players. And the remember the original engineer said to "kill your self." you KNOW it's good horror when you're scared to get out of your seat!
props to you for making the noise at 9:18 so absolutely visceral it made me want to throw up, by the way. really added to the "this is VERY wrong" vibe of everything
I think Matt gets infected at around 3:35 when he goes in to ubersaw the scout.
Ever since he used repeated voice lines
I never thought of that. That's why he had been acting suspiciously calm after he saw the serverblight transformation on that Heavy, when he should've been freaking out.
I didn't even notice that, nice find.
Another victims gets taken over... Part 4 will be *more brutal* !
Plus his ubersaw meter didnt go up, it was half, and still was half despite hitting scout 2 times.
@@Gentle_Dude good call, that and alongside 4:25 when it’s revealed that the infected scout, or “directionz”, was actually alive and well this whole time and ran away after infecting him…
Were probably the most important hints you could get that Matt was actually affected from the encounter
I like how Arron said “please” ( 9:52 )
he’s sad because now the only person he could trust is dead.
now he’s probably gonna try and kill anyone he even thinks is infected.
2:09 is when the real HectorOn said "what?"
Every time after that was the imitation. This is fantastic and so creepy. That moment at 8:18 where he keeps just repeating "what" while soldier explains that the blight mimics players is horror perfection.
Holy hell your right
;)
A machinima creepypasta is the best descriptor, and I mean that with the highest praise.
I love the touch of having the health and ammo regenerate at 6:44
Whenever im in the enemy back lines and see that in TF2 im immediately placed into caution.
@DrippyPootisI think a cool sequel to this series would be seeing the spy from the first series escaping the serverblight
And watching his struggle to constantly stay cloaked so that the serverblight doesn’t find him by going to EVERY ammo pack constantly
@@chadzahirshah2588 Yeah, maybe he saves Aaron by backstabbing one of the playerblights?
@DrippyPootisbackstabbing a playerblight is a death sentence. He'd be assimilated right away
So are we cooked?
Rip Matt😔
is this heven?
@Ghfhdjjeebbehehehdhdcinah but heres the problem before it was all just red team members and it was shown we can kill these mfs ore knock em out for a low period of time but what happens if they have someone on the other team like they now have a blue medic how tf do they get rid of him unless they can vkick him fast enough
You guys are doing good work. I honestly believe this is some of the best sfm horror content in almost a decade, let alone tf2 horror
I am SO invested in this series. The execution is just so good, and I love the effort that goes into all the little unsettling details. It's all just spectacular!
The heavy voice lines reminded me a lot of a top down game called capture the intelligence. I cant unsee this as a video version of the game, great work tho!
Capture the Intelligence my beloved ❤ (the horror game, not the gamemode, I despise the gamemode💔)
You know I've been thinking about the nature of the Blight, so I'll post here:
It probably hates
Demoknights too
Don`t know about if it can learn to migrate to games that doesn`t function like TF2 since the game has it`s own engine that is Source.
GMod, though, i think it would work since the two uses the same engine. The same.. with VALVe`s other source games.
Imagine if it learns about the other games. The amount of bodies it could take..
Going to gmod is the worst idea, an admin either grabs and freezes it, or it gets trapped in a box by the players
Going to gmod would be the worst idea considering it is a sandbox game and most addon weapons completely destroy the body
@@ironsuffertombIST
It could probably migrate to other scource games, like CSGO or Left 4 Dead
I hate to point this out but JonyDany12 from the sounds of it is perhaps one of the few normal souls stuck in the server, and what makes it worse is the fact they sound rather young, being stuck in a world of horror thinking its heaven, it would of been better if the soldier put it out of its misery.
May god be on you're side little one.
Now I get it, The serverblight is litterally THE THING 1983 From Team Fortress 2.
- He absorbs everything on its path
- He goes to every server and hacks it so You can not leave.
- At the moment, he does not have a weakness, if there is one for a virus (THE THING's weakness was fire and bombs)
- In addition, we know the real name of dicksalot: Aaron.
The Thing: Did we just become Best Friends?
Serverblight: Yup
The Thing: wanna go assimilate People?
Serverblight: Yup
So you are implying that the serverblight can be burned and that is it weakness? Because we haven't seen any pyro.
It's more like a " They " or a " It. "
@@aguy216 Maybe, maybe not.
@@dailocbinhchanh9385Maybe, we can get the employees at valve to ban IT or reprogram the game itself.
Something I adore is that the characters aren't the ones of the tf2 characters, but actual
players, which can allude to the idea of tf2 classes being self-insert of sorts, which is something I have not seen before. Very cool.
I can absolutely see this being an actual custom gamemode, like a mix between zombie apocalypse and Saxton Hale.
I think the demoman was the first actual victim after the blight joined the server and here's why;
First off, at 0:14 you can see that Snowdoom is a demoman on blu, right?
I actually caught on to that too and kinda OP they can just spawn like that and get easy pickings
@@T-puma God help you if are still staying at that server while chilling at spawn (Probably going through your loadout), then looking at the chat on how many players are joining in thinking "oh hey new teammates and that quick as well?", then you see the Severblight spawn in and charge at you, making you a part of its own...
spawn camping
Never stood a chance when being spawn camped
From what I understand as well…it seems the spread is through melee contact / touch. Otherwise, Medic would have infected Soldier with the healing beam.
Wonderful work on this. Cannot wait to watch the next one!
Adds a whole new meaning to getting touched lmao
@ or “bad touch” for that matter.
I like this idea, now i understand why engineer took sniper's machete in first episode
God, this concept is so good its suprising it has never been executed this well before. Imagine what would happen if this creature got its hands on a populated 24 hour 2Fort server? All the friendlies chilling outside spawn, not expecting horrors beyond human comprehension to suddently pop up on their favorite game
Let's see a victims of "ServerBlight": *(Updated)*
TheRealKid - Most likely first victim
spygametf2 - Second victim
wingedhussar - Third victim
Bannockburn - Fourth victim
directionz - Fifth victim
gayfer - Sixth victim
GUILLIESUIT - Seventh victim
JonyDany12 - Eight victim
directionz - (Doesn't count)
Drain damage - Ninth victim
Pandaria - Tenth victim
SnoWdooM - Eleventh victim
Tanky - Twelventh victim
Ichgod - Thirteenth victim
TNT_PRINCE - Fourteenth victim
HectorOn - Fifteenth victim
Scubamaster96 - Sixteenth victim
Why is there 2 directionz
Twenth 😭
I think you missed out on "brain damage", "Pandaria". Them and "SnoWDooM" never left the game I believe
Tanky, Ichgod and also TNT_PRINCE.
Also HeadshotFraudster and DatChernoblyGuy who were likely been assimilated when they joined RED team.
Really like this conceptually.
Very cool to have most of the animations be actual real player anims, and focus on cinematography. Also makes it so much creepier when something breaks the rules, and lends a bit of legitimacy to some of the more creepypasta elements.
Nobody noticed that at 0:10 in the voicechat the nickname is HectorOn but in the kill message the nickname is HectornOn
0:00 Either that is just a mistyped error or a subtle hint of him being an error in the future.
i noticed it too. it is most likely a typo
It's creator error hah xd
It's most definitely deliberate
that's why his voice repeats at the beginning of the animation
The details man...when heavy first said "we go together" he smiled, amazing..
This brings back old machinima and creepypastas vibes... And I am all here for it! Als othis is a great example of how a great story/atmosphere can make up for simpler technical aspects.
I am amazed, Amazing work!
good guy comment on good guy
pyro vs Freddy........pyro wins by using shadow jutsu
Hiya wolf Alberto
캬
Hey the TF2 vs FNAF animator here too.
My heart broke when i saw the f2p laying on the ground shivering
Now i know how messed up this blight is.
Probably yea but he's not the only one who manage to escape serverblight, there's also spy from the first video lol
Maybe it’s petty or pissed after one of its prey escaped it, it is intelligent enough to manipulate and bait people.
Or maybe, it's using Aaron as an *opportunity* to learn something it won't learn normally
Like learning human behaviors or human mind or whatever, something like that
@@Setsuzation I mean, by pursuing Aaron, it's learnt how to votekick a singular part of itself and how to disconnect and join another server.
@@2idiotgermans932 Holy the resemblance use is insane, bravo
@@2idiotgermans932absolutely fucking brilliant. You deserve all the praise
thats what i think too, i dont think the people irl are dead but i think they cant control their character anymore and are pretty much trapped in the blight forever unless A the blight dies or B they shut their computer down and possibly since it cant go outside of tf2 servers, in the first episode the engie said "kys" but notice he was repeating his words and after saying kys to the sniper he became realistic and after walking upstairs bro immedietly died so the blight already captured him after he said kys the first time it just repeated words like it does all the time
I’ve recently started watching SFM/TF2 horror videos, this series is the highlight of it all, thank you for the amazing content fellas! Keep it up!👍👍👍
So it seams the serverblight is starting to imitate better the models and players, now isn't a monster where all the bodies fuse, now is smart enough to use them separately as mimic zombies. This thing is learning really fast really quick...hope it doesn't get to another game.
Original Serverblight is making a new "nest" on RED Spawn.
Imagine if it invaded Overwatch or Fortnite
@@jacksonhardey7721or even worse, titanfall or call of duty
@@ChaosAndLawsStupidJourney2 Don't forget about Counter Strike 2
I love how realistic the chat in the first section is with respect to the kinds of players you'll find in game - there's the trade requesters, the random foreign language player who's the only one speaking a different language on the server, the people who type memes in the chat, players forgetting to use team chat and revealing what they're doing to the other team, and the guy ragequitting at the end of the round, among others!
Ragequitter just had the luckiest day in his life without knowing that lol
I just went back to rewatch the vid. That thing really listened at the beginning of the match. Everything medic said after the scout, was said before the scout.
;)
im so glad to see this series do so well and to add on top of that the video is quickly gaining views which is much deserved
