- I said 'almost' because I purposely did not include Computer's appearance in "Muriel Blows Up", and why I did so is because he and Courage did not actually interacted with each other in that episode. Also notice I didn't include Computer's time as Mega Muriel, because if I did, I might as well show you the whole episode (but I don't want to). Plus I didn't put their scenes at the Scooby-Doo Meets Courage movie 'cause I don't have it and haven't watched it yet.

Even though Computer is a passive-aggressive snob, he is arguably Courage's closest friend.

The big cheeses in charge of the shows production felt it best if he talked less after season 1. Its kind of understandable, as most of the shows comedy does come from his overreactive emoting.

I think it's more like the Computer knows what he's saying, but if Courage wants to look something up directly, he'd have to type it in like any other search engine.
@@thebaba29 Courage is also bad with high stress and often flails when panicking. So in situations where we see the computer being typed on evens when it isn’t need is likely because in high stress and extreme panic he feels like he must do something even if that something does nothing.
That is impressive in itself, since Courage has paws and the keyboard is designed for human hands.
That's kind of what google is nowadays, using the microphone to show search results about a recently discussed topic, also sometimes the algorithm can predict what a user may search, which makes it feel like the computer is reading mind
I'm so happy that I grew up watching this show as a kid, this show has aged so well honestly a masterpiece show in my opinion.

I actually preferred Courage being more talkative once in a while, to show his true inner dialougue. Of course not all the time, but just in a few moments.
I agree. I feel his words gave him more character.
It’s like he became so traumatized after so many terrifying experiences that he simply lost most of his voice.
It was actually a choice made by the CN creators who thought Courage talked too much and wanted his dialogue cut short. He started talking less after Season 1. Which is upsetting because I love Courage’s voice.

You have no idea but as a kid i was so scared throughout. Whenever courage was with the computer that was when i felt safe. Like no one could harm him as long as the computer was there.
I love how he goes from perfect zen while the computer is searching to immediately reverting back to panic mode once its done.
This computer was way ahead of its time. Advanced 2D and 3D scanning, completely synthesized voice, AI learning and advanced answers, complete with a sense of humor, and certified to certify anyone who can answer three questions as a licensed therapist.
And consciousness transfer!
This was late 90's/early 2000's my guy. "Ahead of it's time" like the show was made in 30's or something. Most of this tech was available, yet hadn't caught on the mainstream market yet.

It's weird seeing Courage so talkative in the earlier seasons and then not having any dialogue later on. The talking bits between Courage and the computer were the best parts of the first season.

@@conradmbugua9098 Google launched in 1997 (an earlier beta version existed in 1995). Courage the Cowardly Dog ran from 1999-2002, so Google was already a thing. I remember using Google back when I was in Elementeary School, around 2001 for computer science class. Prior to Google, there were other search engines like Yahoo which came out in 1995. That was my first search engine on my home computer. Google wasn't quite that trendy back in the day as it is today.

The more I rewatch courage the more I realize its like the original child friendly SCP, like every episode discusses an anomaly that is not bound by our regular laws of nature or rules. This computer being one of them, almost sentient.

When Courage stopped talking after Season 1, these Computer scenes were always so frustrating, because we never knew exactly what he would be typing or saying, we always had to guess or assume based on Computer's comments and remarks.
Why did Courage stop talking in Season 2?
@@jamessmithandgarrettsmith3623 A friend of mine asked Marty Grabstein about this when he had a video chat with him a while back. According Marty, he was told that focus groups that watched episodes before they went to air got bigger reactions whenever he would babble incoherently than he did whenever he talked, and so because of that, they decided it would be better for the character to do more of the babbling and less of the talking because they felt it was funnier.
Dumb move on their part, someone should rewrite Seasons 2-4 so Courage would talk as much as he did in Season 1.

I guess it fits since he tries to be a normal house dog but while every other animal that actually talks is quite evil

Wonder why Eustace and Muriel have a computer? Especially Eustace because I don't think he ever interacted with it.
I always thought his brother Horst gave it to them as a gift, and considering his history with deadly occult objects, he thought they would never use it. But Courage managed to use it, and its many hidden features, without anything too bad happening.
I think someone mentioned about that knowing the show, they wouldn't be surprised if courage Doug it out of a half buried crate labeled classified. Which, considering the idea, I wouldn't be surprised if that may have been the case, and, honestly, that would have been a great episode plot point for a episode that explains how courage came in possession of the computer.
