Just returned last week from KL back to Germany. I really loved your video, brought back lots of memories and places I actually missed ;) I’d love to see more of you guys. Make sure you visit the Batu caves, maybe getting highlands and definitely greet the island where I was based for a semester during my study days, Penang. Have fun in that really awesome country!

KL and Malaysia are so underrated when it comes to people heading to South East Asia. Highly recommend Cameron Highlands! Tea plantations and beautiful scenery and a brief reprieve from the high humidity of the cities and the beaches. Penang is really great and I recommend the old Spice Farm that is further out on the island.
Even more underrated is the Mount Kinabalu and its surrounding in Sabah (Malaysia) or the Rainforest Music Festival in Santubong, Kuching, Sarawak. 😆 In fact many visitors did not know that there's another part of Malaysia on the island of Borneo with their natural wonders. Sabah has one of the 7th. top diving spots in the world. 😉
Cool video I have been to Malaysia 5 times and KL is my favourite city that I have visited. I have been to Melaka on a day trip from KL and it is really nice. Penang is cool especially with the culture and food, Langkawi is stunning, Perhentian Islands are amazing. But I prefer Redang Island more. You will probably stay at Kuala Terengganu overnight before going to Perhentian. I think you will definitely love Langkawi with all its nature, beaches, jungles and of course Skycab

The people are nice, sincere and makes you feel welcome, I made some good friends during my stay there. I hope I can visit Malaysia once again in the near future. Greetings from Philippines!
Filipino also has so many friendly people.. I have many filipino friends online since 2008... and so close with them for more than 10 years now.. Lots of love from Malaysia... 😁
Mabuhay, I took PAL Airlines once and transit in MNL on the way to Osaka, they even provided free in flight WiFi service for economy class passengers even though the data capacity was limited. I was really surprised, Nice. and "Salamat".
I have always wanted to check out Malaysia; especially Kuala Lumpur because of the movie “Entrapment” with Sean Connery & Catherine Zeta Jones! Thanks for sharing this video and Happy birthday Adriana 🎂🌺🌸🥳🎈🎉🍹🍷🍾🥂😘
Unfortunately entrapment didn't portray KL well. They took scenes from another state as though we have jungle, villages and rivers in the city. Its like portraying LA, but then took scenes from swamps in florida and stitch it together. Hope you can see it for yourself one day.
Except for the islands I did the same trip in 2019. Had the greatest time. I'm sure you guys will, too. Beautiful, modern city. Very liveable. Can't wait to see what you think of the islands....want to go back soon. I missed that museum. 🙂 On durian, I couldn't get past the smell, as they say. Try cendol without the durian. Also, there are a number of fantastic Malaysian desserts. Try as many as you can.
Nak makan chendol durian kena guna mangkuk, campurkan semua sekaligus dalam satu sudu. Baru la dapat rasai kelazatannya yang sebenar. Nanti google translate yer.. welcome to malaysia.!!
Thanks for the cool KL video. Happy birthday! Yes, I love KL as well. A tip, you should next time (if any), try mixing the gula melaka (palm sugar) and the coconut milk well first before drinking the cendol. It will help the durian to blend in better with the taste.

Malaysia is a coffee-drinking nation for decade with every state offering its own unique coffee. You can find local coffee in local coffee shops, commonly known as "kopitiam" (that also sell a variety of local food for breakfast and lunch), or local coffee chains or individual cafes. In Kuala Lumpur try visiting Ho Kow Hainam Kopitiam in Chinatown (Petaling Street) for Hainanese coffee, and toasted bread with coconut jam and butter, and half-boiled egg. Be sure to get there early in the morning to avoid a long queue. You can also try local coffee chains like Kluang Station, Hometown Hainan Coffee, and Nam Chau White Coffee, which all have outlets all Klang Valley and beyond.
@@2Passports1Dream You are most welcome. Locally coffee is known as kopi. There are many choices on how you have your coffee whether it is black, white, without sugar, with sugar or condensed milk or evaporated milk etc. Here are a few examples when ordering kopi in a Malaysian kopitiam: Kopi = Coffee + Condensed milk Kopi-O = (O means black - no added milk/condensed milk) + sugar Kopi -Cham = coffee, tea + condensed milk Kopi-C = Coffee + evaporated milk + sugar Kopi kosong = coffee without milk and sugar If you want your kopi less sweet just mention kurang manis (in Malay) or simply in English.
Thank you so much for loving this country!! Malaysia is a diverse country with these 3 races which are Malay, Chinese and Indians. Hope you're having fun and yeah enjoy!!

Hi.. Thanks for all the nice words for Malaysia. Anyway, just to suggest if you plan to come again here, just ask locals around you if you in need of any assistance. I believe most are willing to assist.
Kuala Lumpur looks surprisingly clean and modern and… fresh! Food seems awesome (except the durian…!) and you both are as inspiring and lovely as ever!💕
i just came back from a holiday in both Kuala Lumpur and Langkawi (from Australia). Having been to both areas before I had high hopes. KL did not disappoint however Langkawi has definently taken a beating from covid. Most places are still closed, im assuming shut down permanently. It was incredibly underwhelming compared to my previous visits to the island. Be careful with restaurants as food is not that fresh. We were served chicken that was off at an Indian restaurant which was quite the experience. However A MUST is the langkawi Sky Cab onto the Sky Bridge. Views were amazing and you will love it. Also the island is home to SO many monkeys on the side of the road especially in the hills, recommend buying fruit from local vendors and feeding them. a good restaurant on the island is 'Yasmin Syrian Restaurant', tbh we mostly ate at hotels as there was just not enough tourists on the island to be able to maintain fresh food in restaurants. In KL, Jalan Alor food street is a must. it gets really busy during the night as its a popular spot for locals. Happy birthday Adriana !!!!
Thank you so much for the info!! That’s such a shame to hear 🥲 but hopefully tourism will start coming back more and more! We will keep everything you said in mind! 🤗
Thank you so much for sharing. It happens to every SE countries. Bali, Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia. So many businesses closed and still can’t get back up.

Hehehe you’re probably right - we aren’t used to it so it’s just similar to other things for us, whilst it’s probably a unique taste for everyone else hehe!
It's an acquired taste after all. Having durian cendol on your first day in Malaysia is very brave! Women's perfume, LOL! Probably try Cendol without durian the next time too.. it is good and refreshing!

I have a suggestion. You both have to visit East Malaysia (Borneo of Malaysia), there have 2 states and 1 federal state which is Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan...they are amazing places...please research about them more... Thank you...
@@2Passports1Dream East Malaysia has nature most extreme; tallest mountain, longest river, larger rainforest, much more wildlife like orangutan and tons of beautiful islands and corals. Welcome to Malaysia 🇲🇾 Glad you’re both enjoying your trip. 😊 Btw, ‘cendol’ is pronounced ‘chendol.’ In Malay, ‘c’ followed by a vowel is pronounced ‘ch.’
@@2Passports1Dream Yeah and the right way to eat it is actually to mix it all up nicely. That way you get all the mixed flavours of the coconut milk together with the palm sugar.
Cendol as a traditional Indonesian drink used to be made from hunkwe flour, but now cendol is made from rice flour, served with grated ice and liquid brown sugar and coconut milk. This drink has a sweet and savory taste. In West Java, this drink is known as cendol, while in Central Java it is known as es dawet, especially in Banjarnegara Regency with its signature drink es dawet "ayu". There is a growing popular belief in Indonesian society that the term "cendol" probably comes from the word "jendol", which is found in Sundanese and Javanese, this refers to the sticky sensation that is felt when cendol granules through the mouth when drinking cendol ice. Es cendol penetrated to Penang Malaysia, cendol is made by sifting steamed rice flour colored with suji leaves so that an oval round shape is obtained which is sharp at the ends. Apparently, your day off in Kuala Lumpur was during a long weekend for Malaysian from a public holiday on Monday, 6th June. Most urban dwellers went on a for a holiday or going back to their hometown. So, you got the 'privilage' of seeing a very calm Kuala Lumpur. By the time you upload this video, I believe you already experience the hustle and bustle of the metropolitan itself. Anyway, glad that you decide to explore more of our country and didn't focus only at Kuala Lumpur. Looking forward for your next adventure.
Thank you so much!! So sorry, we didn’t film in Perhentian in the end - we relaxed so much and enjoyed it - the camera didn’t come out hehe 😅😅 beautiful place!!
Malaysia is where my favourite food is. I went to Kota Kinabalu in Borneo which was nice. I’ve never understood why Malaysia is over two large landmass’s. Have fun
Oh it was a big huge debate back then after post WW2. The colonial powers couldnt decide whether to give it to The Philippines or Indonesia or Malaysia. Somehow Malaysia got to keep it. Borneo has been neglected by the Malaysian government for decades, but recently they have started construction on a big highway project which I am excited and I am sure will bring in a lot of development.
Originally malaya is just peninsula. But we asked others to join the federation. Singapore pulled out in 1965. Borneo is still around. Before joining, the british setup a commission to study the feedbacks of borneo people. Philippines and indonesia did not like that. Indonesia attacked us using military action. They said we are neo colonialist (proxy to british). There was a brief 'war' called confrontation. But since australia has a pack with USA, attacking them will bring uncle sam into the war. So indonesia stopped their aggression.
I don't think East Malaysia was neglected per se..it was just the question for the nation on which part of it needed to be developed first..East Malaysia = low population, low economic activities, low income per strata, etc..West Malaysia = quite high in population, quite high economic activities, quite high income per strata , etc..so go figure which part is needed to be develop first🤦♂️ and only when we got the income from the develop west Malaysia, we can develop the other parts of Malaysia..it's all about prioritisation.
Coffe is a BIG DEAL HERE! Besides the fancy coffee shops, near your hotel get to Dang Wangi road and look for YUK KEE..It a very old coffee shop run by Hainanese Chinese....Try the local coffee there and their steam bread which comes with butter and Kaya( this is sweetened coconut based jam)...They also do western food like chicken chop or lamb chops etc...Its not q what you would expect. In the Alley behind this restaraunt is a tip selling fried noodles...a Malaysian answer to Pad Thai but with cockles....worth a try and can be spicy.
The Cendol Durian (pronounced as Chendol Durian (with the "h" being silent) ... They started off with separate components (Syrup at the bottom, followed by the coconut milk, the green jelly and the durian on top. You really need to stir and evenly mix them up before consuming them. Then they will really become a properly prepared Cendol Durian. Otherwise, it is not a Cendol Durian at all . I suggest you go back there and do it all over again, properly this time !! and let me know the result...
As a Malaysian, I don't like cendol that much... Its too sweet for my liking.. also many vendor will pack inside big container like in the video.. I can take 5 days to finish that up..

But who cares as long as you have enough. I am looking forward to your visit to Langkawi. We were last there in 2013 and stayed in the Pantai (beach) Tengah, Pantai Cenang area which are along the same stretch of beach. Looking forward to your reactions we are going there next year. Malaysia is one of our favourite places in the world. In Langkawi hire a car. Such an easy place to drive and takes no time to see the island.
It was an embarrassing mistake 😅 but kinda funny! Oh I see! We will make sure to pronounce it properly from now on, thank you! Thanks for all the suggestions 😍🤗
This used to be the case; that the Singapore to Bangkok train journey was one of the great railway journeys of the world, It used to rival the Orient Express and the Trans Siberian Railway in terms of reputation, albeit a good many years ago (1960s). Maybe worth considering trying part of it, Malacca to Penang?

wondering, how a T1 is able to go round eating so much diverse stuff? surely at some point, ever increasing insulin injection would cease to be effective.
i myself as a T2 can do about 1/3 cup carbs without exercise or metformin.
1-2 cups carbs with exercise prior to and after meal without metformin.
possibly 2-3 cups with exercise prior to and after meal with metformin.
if the last scenario happens more than 2-3x a day, BG control limits most likely be exceeded. in the below, things turn out a little different.

I have been to Malaysia 5 times and KL is my favourite city that I have visited.
We love KL actually. And we can't wait to visit Perhentian Islands

We were very shocked by this city - so nice! Thank you, Marietta 💕
Unfortunately entrapment didn't portray KL well. They took scenes from another state as though we have jungle, villages and rivers in the city. Its like portraying LA, but then took scenes from swamps in florida and stitch it together. Hope you can see it for yourself one day.

Oh wow! Thank you! That’s great advice 🤗☕️
@@2Passports1Dream You are most welcome. Locally coffee is known as kopi.
There are many choices on how you have your coffee whether it is black, white, without sugar, with sugar or condensed milk or evaporated milk etc.
Here are a few examples when ordering kopi in a Malaysian kopitiam:
Kopi = Coffee + Condensed milk
Kopi-O = (O means black - no added milk/condensed milk) + sugar
Kopi -Cham = coffee, tea + condensed milk
Kopi-C = Coffee + evaporated milk + sugar
Kopi kosong = coffee without milk and sugar
If you want your kopi less sweet just mention kurang manis (in Malay) or simply in English.

i just came back from a holiday in both Kuala Lumpur and Langkawi (from Australia).

Hehe thanks so much! Oh yes, it’s so interesting! 🤗
And corruption
