    I actually favored the bike you sold. Very nice build. Took mine on the shoulder of the highway. A truck came from behind and the draft tried to suck me under semi tires. Scary shit. Don't ever try it. Warn others. Happy trails.

    Okay so I just bought one of these (first time motor bike rider or anything really only ever drove a car lol) idrk how to brake or even start it I was so awkward in front of the guy buying it. He kept walking me thru what to do and I just couldn’t understand it I couldn’t ever understand the clutch in & brake thing. I would just do burnouts trying to stop. I almost crashed into the damn storage facility he was teaching me outside of. Anyway he didn’t really have time to teach me much & I didn’t really get it by the time we parted ways so I just walked the bike home and am still trying to learn how to use this thing lol. He was selling it for 300$ but he took 90$ because he knew I needed it to get around.

    Was there anything special you had to do since it was on a 29 in? I debated getting one before I stuck with the 26in I have now, but remembered the kit says for 26-28 in. Wheels.
    Btw #7 has an almost rocket looking exhaust, real swick.

    So you built all of those bikes??? Man they are beautiful... One question be for you..you said you have to pedal up hill more because of the wheel size? I'm having the same problem with my 29 inch Moto bicycle.what are some things I can do to improve the up hill climbing on mine?I had one a while ago with 29,s and the uphill capabilities were much better with the same set up (no after market parts or upgrades on either) I recently moved to the foothills in utide of Denver CO and hills with any gain are impossible to traverse with my bike... Thank you

What features do I need to look for in a bike? Are there any brands of engine kits that are better than others? They all look the same...

      john your right about that . I always offer 10 days free service plus hands on support with every bike sold . This gets you to form a great relationship with your customers plus an up sale on other relative products or services that you may offer .I find a good percentage of my business is repairing bikes that were bought from careless builders . The key to this biz is promotion & to know what your doing and always take care of your customers ....believe it or not i sold 22 bikes last year it can be done...Bro i did it.

      I just transitioned to only selling e-bikes I sold 15 gas bikes and 4 e-bikes….I never had a problem with the E-bikes and made a good profit on them…the gas bikes is another story’ out of 15 I had 3 dumb asses’ if your selling gas bikes plan on working on broken ones’ due to neglect and stupidity’
      No matter how well you build them ppl manage to tear them up…all mine had jack shaft kits and dual lever brakes…red lock tight is used on all hard parts. Some bikes I lost money on…due to my time being used for repairs…I got so tired of it, I started only selling the broken parts only to them’ I had spare carbs,engines, stators, Ignition modules, chains, throttle cables, clutch cables, spare gaskets, and clutch packs.

    • @ebperformance8436
      @ebperformance8436 2 роки тому

      Yeah…first timers think they can just hop on one and do 50mile round trips….and they seemed confused on gas mixers so I gave a chart on it from break in 50:1 ratio down to break in ratio….and they just don’t get it….then instead of pedal assist them they clutch the hell out of them, and we all know what happens when that’s done.
      I have over 100 spare clutch packs.

    Great video and cool bikes my friend. That 289 c.i.d. was sounding pretty mean. I had a 62 Falcon with a 289 with a 3-speed on the floor and that was one mean little Ford to say the least, lol. By the time I sold that Falcon I had turned the odometer over twice and I believe it already had something like 78K on the motor when I pulled it out of the 65' Mustang it was in that had been rolled & damn near crushed to death. Is that a Galaxie 500 or a Fairlane 500? Hell, watch it be a Custom, lol.

    I was interested in getting this set up but after hearing how little power these motors have, no thanks. Are you installing a 25cc motor on those bikes? The smallest motors I've seen are 50cc for this purpose and my 50cc will do a standing, tire smoking, burnout.

      +William Randles Willy >at Harley Bee brand bikes we use Nylock NUTS where applicable and we use STEEL head lock nuts where it gets hot.... It costs us dearly in cash but Look for the Harley Bee videos it explains it ain't just locktite like back in your days okay..... Modern teenagers don't just take a condom on dates in these days they take antibiotics and a hand gun... Times have changed sorry for my pun okay it seems foul to me but these bikes with the torque bikes like mine put out Locktite is antiquated okay.... It's obsolete.... THE HARLEY BEE BRAND BIKES BREAK ABOUT 170 FT LBS OF TORQUE... WELL BEYOND CONVENTIONAL SOLUTIONS... Willy you're an old timer... Locktite won't save with one of my bikes... only good construction will save ya..

    Thread lock and a proper carb tuning. doesn't sound like it's all the buyers fault.. if it's bogging under a load it's running too rich.. if any bolts or nuts come loose you didn't use thread lock where you should have being a 2 stroke it's going to be shaky no matter what..

    This looks like Ankeny. In fact I think I've seen that Blue F-100 before and dug it's vibe (Fellow Ford guy). South of Briarwood? I just sold my place on Briarwood Dr. and bought a little acreage out by Sailorville Lake. It's been a while. But that really looks like the Ankeny DMACC campus. Small world if so, I own a small motorized bicycle company based out of Ankeny. www.rivercitymotorbikes.com and also, I'm currently restoring a '66 Mustang convertible in the same shop, and on the market for a F-100 as a shop truck. Sounds like you and I could get along pretty well, so long as you like good beer ;)

      i have no idea why you would want a coaster brake. chain breaks and you die.

      Coaster brakes are terrible anyway, the reaction time isn't the same as lever brakes, and if you have coaster brakes, your feet ALWAYS need to rotate, regardless of whether or not you are being powered by the engine. Which may not be a huge issue if you are riding leisurely, but once you hit 15/20mph your feet are gonna be at a constant like 90-120RPM or so.Which will get old fast.
      Either way, front brakes are safer than rear brakes, so that in itself is a good enough reason to go with lever brake system. For efficient braking you should be at about a 60%/40% split between front/rear respectively.

    I had a Coleman mini bike which was a pretty big mini bike. I decided to take governor of the motor. I'm a big guy 235lbs and if I full throttled the motor I could get thrown of it. When I was done with I sold to some small kid (I'm 15 btw) he was the same age as me. He bought before riding it thank god. I told him not to full throttle at all but he did not listen. He full throttled and popped a wheelie in the back of his pick up broke his arm and bent the foot rest into the pull start. He blamed that the throttle stuck which was bs. I least I got my $350.

    i make all customers sign a liability waiver form, give me full deposit first then i go thru the details of the bike and how to ride, they dont leave my place till they know how to ride. also as a builder i use lock tight and double nut to prevent what you went thru

      Thread locker works way better. None of the lock washers on my bike are resistant to the amount of vibration they receive

    LOL at your story! Yeah, I was actually thinking about "building" a few bikes, then sell them. Make a little money. Figure, buy the beach crusers at Walmart, then the motor kits. $200 total Then I install the kits, get it going. Then sell the bike for $250. Make $50 for each bike! Basically they pay me to install the kit!

    • @ThunderHead289
      @ThunderHead289  8 років тому

      +thunderlord2200 depending on upgrade and price of bike, 150 to 300. i generally try to get a bike for under 100. the older steel framed bikes are the best. the kit itself from ebay is only 130 to 150. so these can be built very cheaply.
