- This episode shows how to make a DIY live edge epoxy resin & concrete coffee river table.
This DIY concrete epoxy river coffee table is one of my favorite builds to date! For the woodworking portion of the coffee table, I used a single live edge walnut slab to make a continuous grain live edge table section, then poured epoxy resin into a form to add a mirroring live edge shape to one side of the wood slab. I then used the live edge epoxy side of the wood as part of the form for the concrete pour. I'm using Fishstone GFRC concrete for this one, and I sprayed and handpacked it to get clean vertical surfaces. Hope you enjoy!

The first half of the ua-cam.com/users/postUgkx3ICSK6nSknaL_45CU2NmFSoXjarGMDiJ book is everything about wood: types, tools, finishes, setting up shop etc. The second half is all about doing projects for inside and outside of the home. The color pictures are helpful. After reading a dozen of these types of books, this is probably the best overall (layout, color photos, plans). Only detraction is that many of the projects use a table saw/router/planer, which are usually expensive and take up space, so the plans are less friendly to newcomers and the budget conscious. But I know I can use a drill, circular saw or a jigsaw to make the projects.
Watched all 18 episodes of the abandoned building reno in 1 day. BRILLIANT!!!! Loved it.
More maker channels need to be like you. owning up to your mistakes, and showing how to learn from them. Nobody is perfect. Love the content!

I was really tired of videos on youtube about using epoxy resin on tables ... I started watching videos of using white concrete with visible stones and I thought it was fantastic and decided to go to my workshop at the end of this month to make a wooden table, epoxy and concrete ... and you bring me the pleasant surprise of seeing you make a table although smaller than the one I'm designing, but you made it! I was afraid it would be a bad idea, but now that I see it I'm excited about the result! A big hug from Brazil!
(We are having a difficult time here, with a terrible president and COVID19, and woodwork has been my escape for such difficult days).

I do GFRC for a living. You do awesome work, but here's a small but helpful hint. You could get a clean face on the inside of the legs if you spray the melamine before clamping it to the bench, its also best to do a
Light coat of backer over the face so it stays moist. Then pour your backer to fill in the legs, I'd even make it a little more wet than you had it just to ensure there's no air pockets. This will eliminate any pockets or holes on the inside of the leg. Hope it helps!

My mind immediately went 'wood - concrete - epoxy' and maybe a few holes in the concrete side for the epoxy to get purchase and add structure.
This wasn't what I was expecting and as always... I'm blown away! You killed it again.
