This is what happens when you remove engineers from management and replace them with DEI inspired accountants.
Not DEI, it's the McDonald Douglas management ruining Boeing after the merger and replicating defects seen on the DC-10
Cause corruption never happened before dei. Derp DEI is just another useful tool of corruption. Like engineers never take hush money. I know the left is lost but you on the other side are just as lost.
Or implement affirmative action and equity hires
More likely, it's the endgame of Jack Welch's policy of cutting down labor hours in the name of maximizing share price. Every company that's done it eventually sees quality suffer as good workers refuse to do more, faster, up to par, and are replaced with less skillful workers willing to put up with impossible demands.
Nothing to do with DEI, its just short term profit over anything else. Doesnt matter if every aircraft they pump out will fall apart in 10 years as long as share prices go way up during the term of the executives so they can get their bonuses.

I'm very disappointed to hear that this is happening, especially to an engineer. Boeing culture absolutely has to have a fundamental and extreme shift if it has any hope of digging itself out of this hole. Starting with management, it seems.
As an engineer I hear technicians bashing on engineers all the time, as if the only reason for a bad design choice could only be the stupid engineer. You have no idea how much pressure there is on engineers. It's just most industries are not life-threatening, so nobody will know, even if something fails, or just plain bad quality.
@@gaborbata8588it's the same everywhere. Folks shift blame like a ducks feathers shift water. We build and build and build, never asking if we should bother or why we do. If people knew Boeing's hiring practices and bonus scale. They would not be surprised by planes falling from the sky.
I worked at a plastic injection molding place in Washington, we made parts for guided missiles and a bunch of things that required rigorous qc, I was the youngest in qc at 21 and realized the dept was run by 2 Korean girls who had the boss under their spell one of their bfs was the lead, they all took shortcuts and ousted me for insisting people were taking shortcuts, and I became depressed and when I was fired it was my fault, they exiled me to graveyard and I couldn’t handle the schedule, so it remained a qc department that was taking shortcuts to appear productive, this is the way of the world unless you have extraordinary management or very clever owners, etc. had I been less young and dumb I’d have gone to the owners but… Everyone old enough now has seen the decline of quality across the spectrum mostly, it’s the elephant in every room and, for the most part, it’s intentional on some level.
I'm on the younger side as far as quality engineering/product testing goes. I've seen the same flippant attitudes present in both industries I've worked in one of which was receiving government money.
