This is still the cancellation i am most pissed about. Learned about it by chance and it left me speechless at the time. So disappointing.

I’d guess given the plot of the last (brilliant) series of Mindhunter, it might have been about more than just budgetary issues.

I guess Zack Snyder really DID make a Star Wars fan fiction.
No. The good guys use RED lightsabers in this universe. So it's not anything like Star Wars.
You have to be a fan to write fan fiction. And overall the level of SW fan fiction is much better then what both Lucasfilm and Zack Snyder offer.

That plus a terminal case of low T.
As a farmer i couldn't get past the notion that in the first movie they are basically diverting the equivalent of a carrier group, to threaten a village that by the looks of it produces at most 10 tons of grain to sustain themselves.
That is like the US navy sending a carrier group to the other side of the world to extort $2000 worth of grain...
I think you need to get into this metaphorically... That's all I got.
...you just described Afghanistan except it was opium and marijuana not wheat... Using the US military as a comparison makes this MUCH more believable... How much has DoD spent shooting down flying lawnmowers to keep a shipping lane open that the US doesn't even use... Have you seen who they appointed to thee US Public Health Service?..
Yeah.. looking at DoD makes this all more believable for me.

One of the dumbest things was the guy using axes to fight during a gun fight. Disney's been doing this, too. Melee weapons in a gun fight. Nobody would do that in real life. The lightsabers with the force make sense but there's no force in this movie.
Just remember it was the "Native" long haired guy that was using the Axe. 😂
What does that tell you about Netflix or Snyder... 😅😂
It didn't make sense in Star Wars either. Order 66 worked BECAUSE using melee when long-rang exists is dumb, lol.
@@Dante02d12 Confidently wrong, it worked because the Jedi were outplayed and blinded. They put faith in clones and did not consider they would turn, Yoda only managed to survive his attack because he felt other Jedi dying all at once. I just re-watched "Hondo (1953)". An awful lot of great acting, character development, story telling, cinematography, action, and romance packed into only an hour and 23 minutes. A movie about real people doing what real people do and no special effects. I miss the old "Studio System"; they were movie factories that knew how to make movies. Now it's about making money or having 'write-offs' for wealthy envestors.
I made it all the way to "Why is Anthony Hopkins in this movie?" before I lost it.

Anthony Hopkins doesn't know he's in the movie. They did with him what Steve Martin did in Bowfinger with Eddie Murphy.
There was supposed to be the entire plot with the robot, but I think Zak Snyder‘s writers ended up changing that part of the story. There’s supposed to be an ancient AI deep within the caves under the waterfall that took over the robot.
The Same question I had for transformers 5!
He probably needed more money to take to the grave
Its impressive how little resistance it took for the villains to go from "We need the food from this planet for our armies to eat." to "F*ck it. Destroy this planet."
Well, at least one of them did question that, though that didn't last long.
I thought they were on a moon
I think the army just got pissed off with the villagers killing them..
Why would a space force need the tiny amount of grain being produced? Someone really screwed up if a ton or two of grain either way is going to cause the navy to starve.
It was because what the bad guy cared was to kill or capture the female protag to take her to the regent and win a ton glory and stuff, so that's why he stopped caring about the grain, as the food was needed to hunt the rebels, but the protagonist was a better price
Thanks for avoidance heads up.

In the aftermath of the cinematic debacle of "Rebel Moon Part Two: The Scarg Giver," one cannot help but connect its inherent failures to the broader themes of cultural degradation in the West. This film is rightly criticized for its lack of originality, excessive reliance on clichés, and overall tedium, but it is symptomatic of a creative industry that has lost its way, succumbing to the same demoralization process that affects modern American society.
Filmmakers should aim to create works that challenge the status quo, provoke discussion, and encourage resilience against the erosion of cultural and moral standards. This is not just about making 'better movies'; it's about recognizing the role of art and entertainment in shaping, reflecting, and potentially healing our culture.

Thanks Zak, for spending a quadrizillon dullarz just that the drinker can make this brilliant critic.
Don't ever let people tell you, you weren't good for nothing!
Zack Snyder has become his own parody by now and I dunno why they're still giving him these huge budgets.
Because his is the best director we've got.
@@dadocta5168 Lol.
zack snyder sucks ass because army of the dead is the most dissapointing movies of 2024 even the trailers can fool you because it's sets on a post apocslyptic las vegas and guess what fighting zombie tigers and fight zombies more. that's fucking it. this is zack snyder's of the worst and dissapointing movies of all time. netflix go home you drunk making these awful movies and wasted 3 hours of my life watching this shit
Once netflix gives him the flick I dont see big prod. companies handing out 100's of mil, he might have to do mid budget dross for his dwindling fan base
he's got tattoos on his arms. that's why
My sister worked as an editor on this movie, and when my parents finished watching it, they told her "it felt a lot like A Bug's Life" and she sighed and said "you're not wrong"
Antz was a better movie.
should have edited it such that it took 25 seconds for both parts. sister needs a slap for this shit. anyone associated with this tripe should get a slap.
The cast and crew did a great job but were let down by the poor writing and direction.
How the heck is this like a bugs life lol
@@GaigeGrosskreutzsMissingBicep They're both a derivative of _Seven Samurai_ with a grain obsession
Drinker on top form. Why create a rival to star wars only to repeat all this mistakes of kennedy? An opportunity for a movie entrepreneur to take only wasted it seems.
After this film I learned carefully, thoroughly... how to harvest wheat.
I love how Anthony Hopkins' career has devolved into it being a legitimate questions when he shows up in something. He's one of the great actors of the last 50 years and now he's so old and bored he's turned himself into a game of Where's Waldo.
He does just whatever he wants to do nowadays. Dude is old and is just having fun
Got rich
Got famous
Might as well do some random stuff
The guy won Best Actor three years ago.
He's doing a Robert De Niro speedrun
You know you can do both, right? Money grabs and high art? It's not physically impossible.
He was amazing in Westworld and more recently, in One Life and The Father and got an Oscar for that role - the oldest person yet for that category. And as a diagnosed Asperger.
Thanks again, Drinker, for saving me the time obviously wasted by the runtime of this movie
People kept saying rebel moon was bad. I didn't know they made a 2nd one so I thought this was the first one. I was thinking to myself "didn't this come out last year or something."
Ah well... I've already maxed out on my movies for the year. Dune 2 was great!
Things are so bad these days that I have to watch these kind of reviews first to absolutely make sure my time isn’t wasted. Thanks for the heads up!
Welcome to the club, I’ve been like this for years now. And the studios have the audacity to blame reviewers when their film flopped, wtf
More than a DECADE and Disney has still not made a profit on the purchase of Star Wars.
Not exaxtly, they didnt make THE money on movies, but on the merchandise
Yes they did. Just not on movies alone.
@@SubZero-hs9xc exactly this
@@oXRaptorzXoI'd love to see the hard numbers. I personally think they did not. Because hasbro has gotten slaughtered the past decade.
Think of it this way. The movies for Disney are just expensive adverts that they don’t really care about.
I have a serious case of strong female lead fatigue.
I'd disagree with the "boring" part. My buddy and I were laughing almost non-stop the entire 2 hours. We loved it.
This is the description of nearly 90% of all tv shows and movies for the last 15 years; characters doing things that they otherwise would never do in order to make the bad plot continue cheaply.
If you remember the series "The Good Place", Rebel Moon part 1 and part 2 would be present on the selection of movies available in the "good place".
