    They used to be employee owned and now they are hedge fund owned. The only thing that matters now is earnings per share. Some people have to die in plane crashes so that earnings are higher? Yes.

    I recommend that you watch the whole declaration, it's mind-blowing and very worrying. This man is very brave for coming out in public. Boeing should be in deep trouble even if half of what he said is found to be true.

      I doubt that. 777 and 787 have been doing really well. none have fallen apart or fallen out of the sky.

    It was weird Boeing moved its corporate headquarter from Seattle to Chicago. The headquarter doesn't want to be with the engineering groups.

    Boeing management gross negligence and unprecedented level of greed is astonishing. It already cost some 350 lives in Lion Air and Ethiopian Airlines 737 Max crashes.

      Howmuch ever boeing tries to lobby their way out. Us consumers can choose not to fly with them if these safety concerns aren't fully resolved ultimately leaving airlines with no option but to look for alternatives. Surely one day these same hedge fund msnagers will also be done with funding the lobby team if it isnt effective. Whatever lobby or mafia comes ultimately consumer is the ones paying for the ticket and everyone's paycheck. Never forger that it is the ultimate power.

      they dont have to be, there are plenty of small planes out there. also large planes can carry more people and fuel to fly longer distances, & larger planes can be useful for cargo👍

      It's physics. Very roughly, the fuel efficiency scales with the surface area while the capacity scales with the volume. So bigger leads to cheaper tickets.

    How far back does this go? The 777 Dreamliner dates back to 1995. If this is affected, then that stands to reason their 737-800 Jet series could also be. Far out. Is anyone investigating or whistleblowing on Airbus in the meantime?

    Boeing (regarding 787s) has my vote of confidence. All I know is that my business class rides in KLM's 787-10s have been fabulous.

      Exactly. Seems odd to me that there are repeatedly only issues with planes that are still at Boeing, but the one that have flown the nest, are fine and dandy. I don't buy it.

      I like the sentiment, however, Airbus is only where it is now because it had competition from Boeing. Even Airbus has said it wants competition to stay ahead.

      Competition is better for everyone, and even Airbus themselves mentioned that the Boeing crisis made them double down on safety (not that they weren't already very safe). I think it's better if Boeing recovers.
