@@LuckyGhost Ha ha ha ha. Yep… I’m one of those. Thankfully it’s much more possible now that’s for sure. I never would have attempted it years ago, but it’s pretty good now. Your channel is great. I appreciate you!!
I have to thank you Lucky, it was your video like this two years ago that got me and my family into this game, and we’re still going strong and actually almost done with Endwalker after taking our time with the story and world.
@@LuckyGhost My Friends and I just purchased the complete edition of the game 4 days ago, and we're having a blast. Currently we are level 26-35 and taking it slow. We're doing mostly Main quest solo, but getting to parties when one is going on a dungeon quest. My friends are the Axe guy, archer and me with the spear. Currently we're stuck at choosing the Grand Company for a day already, we will meet at the office (work) and will discuss why we choose this company over the other(I'm rooting for the water tribe) lol. (sorry I can't remember names of places and jobs since we only started)
I started mid 2020 and have loved it. Sure it has it's flaws, but I'm a story/rpg person and having basically a social fantasy rpg was the very thing I didn't know I was missing in gaming. I still love it to this day.
I'm so happy that your video is so positive. FFXIV is my gaming one true love as I think you know by now, so to see you appreciating it this way really makes me happy. I agree with everything that you've said, especially about just pushing through the early game because once players have made it to Heavensward they're rewarded for their time in spades via the epic story and amazing moments experienced throughout. I really do encourage people to give this game a go. The story will take your breath away and the varying difficulty of all of the available content is a welcome change from other MMO'S who have let their dungeons and trials stagnate. It's late and I'm waffling but thanks for the video bruvvles! Hope to see you around Eorzea. And maybe one night you'll actually turn up for Looters. Hey, one can hope, right?
I’ve been waiting for this to come to Xbox for so long and I’m having a blast! I hope they don’t take too long in releasing the full game because I’m going all in on this. Great video man, cheers!
You forgot to mention : - Fabulous crafting jobs - Excellent and varied activities (Casino, Chocobo Racing, Doman reconstruction, Airships, Sea fishing, Gardening...) - You didn't mention housing as well... This game as so much content... My favourite, before ESO (which is really rich too) and GW2 (same)... But yes, FFXIV is the last of the classing subscription based MMO and probably the most enjoyable I played until now. Music, dialogs, decor, everything makes it a good game...
I was very stubborn in trying this game before 2020 because I was a diehard Destiny 2 player. This game saved me from the depressing state of Destiny 2 now
There's some more niche side group content as well for people who want something a bit different from traditional dungeons and raids: Exploration Zones (72-144 player instances, 48 player trials, raids, unique power gains) Deep Dungeon V&C dungeon Treasure Hunts The Hunt (world bosses)
This right here. Just came from gw2 after being suspended for farming mobs after GMs claimed they investigated me to the "highest degree" and claimed I was botting on a 10yr old account with over a thousand dollars put into it with no prior infractions roflmao
I watched your beginner’s guide on the game and started playing today, and I’m hooked! The story is great, the music is awesome, and the gameplay isn’t as complex as I thought it would be. I was afraid of being confused at first, but I think I’ve already understood many of the mechanics and there seems to be a welcoming community of gamers here.
@@TorresgamingchannelI do anyways, but now I already know, it’s going to be a „trap“, even before the situation to happen. That’s what you call a spoiler. I can’t forget it now, so I can’t genuinely see, if I could’ve guessed it’s a trap by myself or if I would’ve stupidly run into it. That experience is ruined now, no matter what.
As an action combat andy, someone who skips stories in most mmorpgs, and an enjoyer of reading popular television show scripts to save time, this game is the best tab target game on the market. I look forward to the release video for Ashes of Creation in 2039
The answer is yes, you should. I started playing 2 days ago for my first time ever. The game is beyond fun. I left behind my other Mmos I play and wanted something new to me. It feels more relaxed and is packed with tons of little things to keep you busy.
I was one of those ppl that heavily refused to play this game (because I thought without doing any research), is gonna be one of those asian mmo's with pretty anime girls with short skirts and pointless grind. Boy, how wrong I was... to a point still eating my words my since 10 years. However, this game isn't for everyone as is heavy story oriented with MMO elements and mind blowing music + trials and what not. If you love your game to have a story on par like The Witcher 3, then you're for a ride, if not - skip it no matter how good the game is, without understanding it's story all these trials/dungeons/raids won't make any sense to you and you'll lose interest quite fast.
I completely disagree, I have skipped every cutscene this game has released because the story doesn't interest me and I love this game to bits. The raids are what I play the game for, especially the ultimates. While the game is story oriented (no doubt about that), you can absolutely still enjoy the game without knowing any of it.
@imamaterasu8783 yeah I agree. though I do love the story, I love the combat almost entirely separately. the mechanics in higher tier content is a great balance between practice, execution, reaction, and knowledge. I only started partway through shadowbringers, so I still haven't got to play while savage is relevant, but the extreme trials are great.
@kasken719 bro the last like 30 quests between beating ultima and starting HW were my worst experience with the game hahaha. it just gets better from there.
@@imamaterasu8783same here, I skipped almost every cut scene lol I started playing this year solely for the end game content. I’m currently at lvl 60 and I’m already in love with the game! Can’t wait to get to end game grind 🔥
Your thoughts on the monetization are spot on. I dropped 100 bucks on GW2 to grab expansions and after a month felt really unvalued as a player because they make so much basic stuff needlessly annoying to deal with and then sell you QoL solutions in the cash shop. The entire community defends it though, but it's just not for me. Never felt like I was running out of inventory space and needed to buy more in FFXIV. You don't get flooded with useless items like you do in GW2. It's just night and day to me.
He's the cutest little Lala tank now but still dabbles in his MNK from time to time. When he's not trying to have boxing fights with me, a giant Viera.
This game is the game ive played for the most hours in my entire life. I have played it constantly since late 2016 and only stop to take a break when other games come out that i really want to play.
I think what's also great about this game and not too common in most mmorpgs is that it got a great integration of controller support. I started playing this on my PS back when it released and when I moved to pc eventually I still found myself playing on controller just fine, if not even better than on m+kb cuz the mapping and crossbars (or whatever they're called) are just so well made.
Great video! For a nearly 15 year old game, FF14 does so many things right that a lot of MMOs do wrong that it kept me playing for awhile. This is coming from someone who has played an MMO at nearly every point of my life when I had internet access. Looking forward to dawntrail.
I am not that deep into ffxiv jobs, only almost max level with my whm but I will say that in my 200+ hours in ffxiv, it is the most nicest community compared to any other mmo, this game has me hooked.
Definitely right about how nice the community is. Just started playing today. 5mins in and people just came up to me gave me potion and stuff, a bunch of friend and guild request
This is a great video. I tried FF14 but never stuck to it during ARR. I just came back and seen this video as I am playing through the stormblood xpac and agree with alot of what he says.
10-year player. This is the greatest social and ongoing story game, and no other game can come close to those specific features. I'm not into any treadmill content or high-end raids. I never have great gear, and I don't grind for collectibles. I mostly enjoy the patch content as it rolls out and I participate in social gatherings, games, contests, and planned content with my friends. I also take my time and read EVERY single word of story dialogue in the game. The writing is unmatched, no matter if it's the main story or side quests. If you like to read like I do, this is THE game. I actually appreciate that it's not fully voice-acted, because I feel it creates heavier emotional impact and investment. I've met friends from all over through the game and even meet up with them IRL from time to time if I'm traveling nearby. Even when I don't log in for weeks or sometimes months, due to work and family life. I can still come back and hang out with my friends, and if I'm behind on gear, and my rotation rusty, it's very easy to get back into shape and my friends are always willing to carry my sorry ass. It's not my end-all be-all game, I play lots of other games and MMOs for what they offer. I play other games for PVP or thrilling combat. FFXIV, however is like coming home.
To be honest. Is a seasonal game. You play the story, then unsub when you finish, then play again when there is more story. This is because, unless you have the time to be a raider, the end game sucks. Is like doing chores instead of playing a game. Why would I want to do that? Lately I am getting much more fun in Guildwars 2 than in FF14. Even if some parts are frustrating. There is a lot of exploration. And if you play games for the story. I would recommend SWTOR. The game itself is dated. But the story is solid. Plus EVERYTHING is voiced over.
I finally decided to download the free ff14 online PS5 upgrade. I don’t even remember ever playing ff14 online game i’m just getting into final fantasy I love ff16 & ff7 rebirth as my first final fantasy experience.🥂😎
I remember the first time I played though the beginning and I knew nothing of the story I didn't talk to anyone who played before me. I just had fun but it took me like most of the AAR to get into the story and hevensword to completely fall in love with the game completely and now I'm 6 years in
Love the pros and cons even on a game that you love, you were able to see flaws. Im looking for an mmo right now and this is on the list with the rest of our group...thanks
Ive just started to play it on the free trial on xbox. Needless to say Im hooked and Im enjoying it far more than any other game that has come out since BOTW
Good video, I did like the breakdown and as others have said you missed out on DoL/H stuff as well as side content stuff that people might enjoy like the Gold Saucer. A tip you've hopefully learnt as well edge of shadow is your single target mana spender. Does more damage than flood which you're spamming at the end of the video. Enjoy ex/savage content tho there is a lot you can do MINE, which I don't think you mentioned either. Have fun!
Count me as sunscribed boi!! Just started playing the beta on Xbox. And I’m loving it!! Yes the beginning story is slow, but the dungeons and boss fights are AMAZING! Huge fan. I’ll be combing your content for helpful hints and class descriptions! Thanks for the content brother!
once upon a time we had a vendor we could reobtain anything from past events ingame but alas someone broke a finger or manhandled our beloved yoshiP into taking that feature away. and even more egregious is these same people took somethings that SHOULD not have been cash shop exclusive but implemented into the game(looking at you Slepnir and Cruise Chaser mount) and rather than following the developers good will to allow inclusiveness they doubled down of gender exclusives. alienating a potential good market an customers who would have bought said items in support of the game etc.
@@DeusGamez The fact that an actively greedy AAA game company like SquareEnix has allowed FFXIV's cash shop to be largely skippable is incredible. I have no doubts in my mind that the little bit of what is in there is forced by the company at large to 'push profits' and continue that naive capitalist dream of 'infinite growth.' I have much respect for the FFXIV dev team for keeping as much as they do earnable in-game. I'm sure the subscription fee is a big bargaining chip though.
I came to FFXIV from ESO, and all I can say is WOW. Starts out slow, which I expected. But the game itself is done exactly right. Any job can be done by one character. Which gives me the freedom of not having to make a separate character if I don't love my first choice, or you want to run with friends as a different class, you don't have to log out and back in on a different toon, 1 click and you're there. Don't have any friends online and want to run a dungeon but don't like pugging, not an issue, run with NPC. Everything is engaging, your crafter doesn't just keep crafting nonsense to level, you actually do quests that are associated with that job. Not gonna lie, I was super shocked that I wasn't bombarded with a cash shop upon logging in, instead a list of recommended quests I should do. When I finally figured out the was a cash shop, I took a look and there really wasn't much in there that felt like I had to have, some specialty mounts like a 4 and 8 man mounts, a few cosmetics etc. As I played more through the game I realized that mounts and pets could be gained through achievements or the events. I was also very surprised that at least on the Novice Network I saw very little toxic behavior. The mentors were all very willing to help us sprouts, answering questions, helping with content, and generally trying to make us newbs feel welcome and comfortable.
I came from WoW to FFXIv in 2021 and got over 1200 hours in this game. It was genuinely so refreshing and nice that I literally enjoyed every second of it, not to mention all the perks it had offered and still does even in the f2p version which clearly indicates that the company really cares about the players and their integrity and doesn't just revolve its` world around money like Blizzard.. Unfortunately, I've exhausted almost everything this game has to offer and I don't see myself coming back. But this game will always have a place in my heart indeed.
I wanted in on the beta of the first launch. Joined the forums and pre-purchased while overseas, and when I came home and went back to school, got caught up with it and dropped FFXIV. I'm back now, finally able to and just got everything downloaded two days ago and I can't wait for this weekend when I can get on there! 😂
I played Ff11 heavily back in the day. Blue mage was my main. I also 100% 14 on its original release and am curious to check this out when it comes to Xbox later this year.
This is the only game where I really feel the developers are developing for the sake of the players and not monetary incentives. Also the community is hands down the best online crowd I have ever encountered in ~15 years of constantly playing online games. Would recommend this to anyone who likes PvE heavy games.
Its hard to tell if a game isn't for you when people constantly tell you to "Keep going! Its gets SO much better" Year and a half and reached Endwalker...It really wasn't for me lol
Thanks for putting this video out now. I’ve played a few MMOs, too many hours in Destiny, ESO and BDO. I’m playing BDO mostly these days. While I love the combat, it’s lacking in story and is very grindy. You grind to get better gear so you can grind higher level areas. I also hate the PK’ers. Open world PvP isn’t a big problem for me but some coward that can one hit kill you without a chance to switch to PvP mode stinks.
Started playing in 2013 (Open Beta) and after reaching Endgame i had to witness that tehre was no real Endgame. So i took a break until 2.4 and from then on i was able to play for a long time without any break. Since Endwalker i'm in constant breaks, because a lot of my FC mates and ingame Friends stopped palying out of boredom and i too am bored without my friends, because this game has not enough Content to keep me busy the whole time anymore. My Average playtime per day was like 5-6 hours, which was back in the Day in WoW Classic the Casual playtime. ^^" It guess it's just what modern MMORPG's have become. The majority of players don't want to challenge themselfs and are very insecure in their own playstyle and also afraid of doing mistakes. Also people don't want to work for stuff anymore. So SE just goes with the flow to make money, i can understand that, but still it's a bit sad.
I have been waiting for so long. Hearing much good about this game for many years. Always thinking the game looks like it was made for me. Im playing on xbox just because of prefrence with the menus and small things like that. Heard that i was coming to the xbox some years ago. After a while i gave up. Its never gonna come to the xbox after all :( At least thats what i thought. Came out yesterday. A beta version but im already enjoying it just a few hours in. Cant wait to continue adventuring in this game. Finally!!
My thoughts on this is: Now (early 2024) is most definitely the time to start FFXIV in 2024. This gives you several months to go through 900 (more like 2000 including quest steps) MSQ or "Main Story Quests". In short, unlike an MMO, FFXIV is the journey and not so much the cap. It's not like say, WoW, where everyone should rush to cap for raids. Therefore, to not be rushed when Dawntrail comes out in the summer, this is absolutely the time to start playing. Not to mention a really cool 4-seater mount is coming in an event at the end of Febuary. There are only 1-2 others this big that you can obtain in the entire game outside the shop. It's the car from FF 15!
Lucky almost had tears in my eyes. I know I perhaps came over as, maybe - harsh ? In the Eso video. It´s because I , had a different and not so pleasant experience with that Mmo. FFxiv have become my home. Now 900+ hours in, reached post EndWalker. FFxiv is the only Mmo I feel at home in. It was not love at first sight , and as you mention in the video, the start can be a bit ruff. The further I went in the story the more I fell in love. Not to forget the community is in a class of it´s own. Thank You
Something worth mentioning about the customization part that may be a positive or a negative depending on who you ask, there is basically no build customization. After you pick a class you will be pretty much the same as everyone playing that class
2024 is going to be an insane year, actually. Xbox players coming is going to be insane, not just tons of new sprouts in dungeons but also tons of boosters at end game. And the population is going to boom again when Dawntrail comes out, all the old players who havent been subbed for half the expansion will come back, plus the marketing and hype will bring even more new players on all platforms, it's going to be wild and I think there probably has never been a better time to try out the trial at the very least.
for sure yes their will be a boom of newbies as is always the case with new expansions and like you pointed out xbox support lending a hand but not all of those newbies will likely stay and not all the old guard(players) plan on coming back due to disappointments in how the game has been handled in recent times. i give it two months at the very least that things will be explosive but after that they will flatten out an the playerbase will go back to its "usual" state of operation.
I've never cried from a video game before and I've cried 3 times from side quest in this game. It is really good all around. I'm not one to sit through cutscenes but I really got into this and always watch all voiced cutscenes
thx for the info - i had no idea it had a cash shop and i played almost a year at the beggining of the game ^^ (not that i was looking for it to be fair) when i read about all the things and combat systems that were changed i kinda lost the motivation remembering the work i would have to change the game interface ^^ -1 Star point for only mentioning character costumization and not mentioning that all skill bars and everything else we see in the screen can be moved or hidden unless needed ^^ you can edit the interface yourselft or search for 1 that you like and apply it and costumize it to your liking ;) and there are many to choose from :) - and the macro system is worth a mention since we can use it for a lot of things as well. about monetization -in a practical sense - the only thing worth mentioning in the game is the amount of items it has.. if you want to be a hoarder you will need more space .. and for that you need to buy retainers -each can take up to 175 slot items - its 2$ each retainer but theres no other way to get space for ALL items (and each slot stack at 99).
one of best things ff14 offers is mesh between new players and endgame. new player needs instance to pass the story and endgame players can and will help them willingly or unwillingly because they need rewards from them. its beautiful to see new playersa aren't let on their own compared to BDonline or NWonline.
This is a good video for upcomming new players, I started a year ago when endwalker was already released for some time and I am still at the last content of shadowbringers and I feel like I have so much more to do and just dont have enough time 😆
I started playing a month ago and solely focused on the story only I hit endwalker yesterday just from what I’ve played it’s already worth it imo it’s the best final fantasy story and I’m not even done
Man I just need friends to hang out with on the game sometimes. My fc is on life support but I can't bring myself to leave because I enjoy the silence 9/10 times.
The story to me is okay and should be the best among the MMO. Played it mainly because of final fantasy easter, lots of variety content to do rather than just one thing. If you are burnt out in combat, go play some story, crafting, animal crossing, mini games, glamour collection, community, treasure hunt, event, and much more that you can explore yourself. Doing outside of combat stuffs can be relaxing. Everyone has their individual preferences but this game offers much more that for sure one of it hold your interest, that's why it's good.
Need to get back into this. Haven't played since it came out on ps3 got wrecked in Stone Vigil I think the dungeon was called and stopped but now since story dungeons can be solo now I have to check it out. Unfortunately have to start from scratch again since I no longer have that old psn account.
It's this a good one to be my first mmo? I played souls and many others types not afraid of skills but never played mmo should you recommend for a totally beginner?
Honestly one of the best for newer players. This game takes things slow, teaching you a new thing, then letting you use it. These guides are very good for new players. It's veterans of mmos that don't like it, which is understandable as there isn't a way to skip this build up without missing the story
I didn’t even think of playing it at first but my friend just told me it was fun and there was a free trial at the time. After watching the EW trailer I tried it and I got sucked in and went for the subscription after 2 days of playing lol. I finished the story quest from ARR to ShB in 3 months because EW was coming in 6 months at the time…that was 3 years ago now and I don’t regret anything, it became my favorite game of all time and I don’t like MMO at all normally
As an OG day 1 WoW player I've swapped to FF and am already almost done with the Shadowbringers storyline. It's absolutely been a breath of fresh air and I've had more fun in my last few months than I've had in the last few years of WoW. I'd definitely recommend FF.
The amount of times I tell people " take your time and read the dialogue " I would be rich in Gil. Too many times I see people run through the game and by the time they get to where they want they are left confused and not able to follow the story to which I tell them plainly, " yeah because all the story leading up to this you skipped ". Take your time. Immerse yourself into your WoL. The story is not going anywhere and it's not going to fade. Plenty of people are either new players or making alts and there are new people joining every day. Don't feel the need to rush just because those around you are already finished.
I have a bit of ADHD. And I always feel like I gotta run and gun all game. And it keeps taking me away from it. I'm coming back cause I miss the music, the gorgeousness of the game, the community. :)
you forgot to mention a huge part of the game! Crafting, which I think is one of the best crafting systems in any mmorpg! Also, retainers play a massive role in the game also! You have triple triad in game you can play both npcs and players. There is a massive casino to play with for hours of fun. You can even get your own island later in the game! This game has so much to offer players as well as housing options! My opinion? FFXIV is a blast! Give it a shot!
I'm very close to quit my current mmo and give FF Online a shot. I'm playin ESO since 2015 and the game is at a very bad state. Bugs, content, the community etc, its boring in almonst every way.
Plz give it a shot. And just FYI 28/6 is the date when 7.0 launch. So prepare for massive ppl sudden go back to FF14 :D AND usually FF14 server will down just because too many people playing
one thing that drove me away from guild wars 2 is that no one wants you in their dungeon group unless you're max level. are there dungeons you can do at low levels?
Yes! The main story is how you unlock most content on the game, and it gradually introduces you to dungeons and boss fights with gradually increasing difficulty. This means every single player of ff14 is a dungeon player and had played through 1000s of dungeons etc. The first dungeons start at around level 15 which is an hour or two into the game (where you learn / get into it)
I'm definitely on the brown paper bag team lol. I do glam my gear, but it's the same Wild Rose set and Wild Rose Barding on my Company Chocobo, that I did take the time to make it black. I am perfectly content with how everything looks right now :-)
"If you're a Blue Mage, you're special..." 🤣🤣🤣 So true. The only other MMORPG that's grabbed me with story like FFXIV is SWTOR... and that only lasted through the vanilla game. FFXIV has had me laughing, sobbing, and jumping out of my chair cheering with the story AND the combat content. It's SUCH a good game. Also, while a lot of people find it "pointless" to play an MMO with NPC's, it's a choice I find really valuable. I have really limited time and I can't commit to hardcore raiding anymore. The NPC's in this game have so much personality, and I love playing with them as much as I love playing with real people. And if I HAVE time, at least I've learned the basics of the mechanics with the NPC's and I can just dive right in with a PUG group when I can manage it. I really need to get my sub back up and running. I haven't even looked at the last two expansions and I can't wait to dive in during my next chunk of leave.
You made this really easy to follow and I’ve begun to love ffxiv. I’m curious on how you make your videos. Like what is your process and would you have any tips?
my take on FF14 after playing for years. if you intend to play for the MMORPG elements (dungeons, raids and pvp) its a solid game, but if you planning to go for the RP elements be prepared to see some passive agressive ppl in that game. I had a bunch of friends that quit FF14 because how people treated them.

It's definitely a good game for newer people to mmos :)
If you’re a new player, the only thing you need to know is don’t follow the lala around the back of the building. It’s a trap.
I didn’t want that spoiler.
@@marco1941 feel free to follow them and get the full experience
@@TorresgamingchannelI do anyways, but now I already know, it’s going to be a „trap“, even before the situation to happen. That’s what you call a spoiler. I can’t forget it now, so I can’t genuinely see, if I could’ve guessed it’s a trap by myself or if I would’ve stupidly run into it. That experience is ruined now, no matter what.
@@marco1941 sorry for your loss
As an action combat andy, someone who skips stories in most mmorpgs, and an enjoyer of reading popular television show scripts to save time, this game is the best tab target game on the market. I look forward to the release video for Ashes of Creation in 2039
The answer is yes, you should. I started playing 2 days ago for my first time ever. The game is beyond fun. I left behind my other Mmos I play and wanted something new to me. It feels more relaxed and is packed with tons of little things to keep you busy.
How about now, still having a blast?
Yeah! I'm enjoying dungeons and joined a Free Company :)@@-Zarion
I'm downloading now.. gonna try this..
I'm mixed. I skipped most of ARR but now that I'm in Heavenward, I've slowed down and started enjoying the much better story than ARR.
100% yes, where else can I live my fantasy of being 2ft tall and punching knee caps?
Fr tho are you actually a lalafel ? please tell me your a lalafel monk
🤣🤣🤣
@@gembardon2486I was a monk for the longest time, am now a Warrior
@@kodak2012 ah I see I’m mainly a healer atm probs gonna switch to pictomancer afterward the expansion comes out tho
There is actually a guy that wants to solo ff14 without interacting with other players. Soloing dungeons etc. He is currently in heavens ward.
I was about to say the same thing! I just watched the crystal tower video the other day.
lol you can tell him to stop there are plenty of 8 player trials/raids in the msq
Great video. All important useful points listed and highlighted.
Much appreciated!
Definitely right about how nice the community is. Just started playing today. 5mins in and people just came up to me gave me potion and stuff, a bunch of friend and guild request
Great video. You made me delete ESO to try out FF. Let's see if it manages to hold me even when spell crafting comes out :D
I just had fun but it took me like most of the AAR to get into the story and hevensword to completely fall in love with the game completely and now I'm 6 years in
played till the end of shadowbringer and i toke a break for farming relics, and so far it's one of the best stories i've ever seen in a jrpg i swear
Miss your livestreams lucky!
Just starting playing again because I needed a break from Elden Ring. What a refreshing change. Great videos LG!
If you want a similar challenge try some of the savage content or even ultimates
Just got back into it recently thanks to a friend's support, and I'm going in way harder than I did the first time around. So addicted.
just started playing it today for the first time, enjoying it so far
Yo I’m training my buddy on Xbox as well, he’s addicted! Please keep playing til you start doing Extreme fights and harder Raids, it’s amazing
Also a point for the cash shop is that like half the stuff on it was already available in the game for free for a limited event.
once upon a time we had a vendor we could reobtain anything from past events ingame but alas someone broke a finger or manhandled our beloved yoshiP into taking that feature away.
and even more egregious is these same people took somethings that SHOULD not have been cash shop exclusive but implemented into the game(looking at you Slepnir and Cruise Chaser mount) and rather than following the developers good will to allow inclusiveness they doubled down of gender exclusives. alienating a potential good market an customers who would have bought said items in support of the game etc.
I've been trying to hop on MIDG every morning at 5am Eastern for a week to play with my friends. can't wait to finally get in
Can't wait for this to release on Xbox! 💚
So glad to hear your enjoying it!
U made me excited to start playing this as it just came to xbox. Finally a game i can use my razer turret keyboard for lol.
Mannnn i didnt think of using my m/k 😭😭 thank you, now its enjoyad
I'd like to request adding crafting/lifeskill/job segment to these videos if it's not too much to ask. All of the video was great regardless!
Will start playing soon and I am very hyped about it! One thing to note, I dont think the mounts here compere with the mounts in gw2.
I played Ff11 heavily back in the day. Blue mage was my main. I also 100% 14 on its original release and am curious to check this out when it comes to Xbox later this year.
i've played 600 hours of this game in Free Trial, if that's not great monetization i don't know what is
This is the only game where I really feel the developers are developing for the sake of the players and not monetary incentives. Also the community is hands down the best online crowd I have ever encountered in ~15 years of constantly playing online games. Would recommend this to anyone who likes PvE heavy games.
Its hard to tell if a game isn't for you when people constantly tell you to "Keep going! Its gets SO much better" Year and a half and reached Endwalker...It really wasn't for me lol
ok, im convinced, i will try it again.
I don't play any mmorpgs with scaling and this game has scaling. That completely kills it for me.
It guess it's just what modern MMORPG's have become. The majority of players don't want to challenge themselfs and are very insecure in their own playstyle and also afraid of doing mistakes. Also people don't want to work for stuff anymore. So SE just goes with the flow to make money, i can understand that, but still it's a bit sad.
I started playing a few weeks ago and really love the slow start and story focus so far 😁
Finally!!
Thank u for another great guide!! Big fan of your work 😊
thanks a million!
Haven't played this in like a year, I think Endwalker is not a good expo. But I wil for sure come back for Dawntrail.
Very good informative video but you forgot crafting and gathering and cash shop items can be viewed in the inn most glam items at least
My thoughts on this is:
Now (early 2024) is most definitely the time to start FFXIV in 2024.
Yes, you can get caught up on the msq just in time for June to hit the trail with the rest of us 😄
(Dawntrail is the new expansion coming in June)
I hope so because I just started! Your guides have really helped me!
Ok you convinced me to play it in the first 4 seconds of the video , thanks dude !
I've never cried from a video game before and I've cried 3 times from side quest in this game. It is really good all around. I'm not one to sit through cutscenes but I really got into this and always watch all voiced cutscenes
Just started playing it and absolutely loving it!!!
thx for the info - i had no idea it had a cash shop and i played almost a year at the beggining of the game ^^ (not that i was looking for it to be fair) when i read about all the things and combat systems that were changed i kinda lost the motivation remembering the work i would have to change the game interface ^^ -1 Star point for only mentioning character costumization and not mentioning that all skill bars and everything else we see in the screen can be moved or hidden unless needed ^^ you can edit the interface yourselft or search for 1 that you like and apply it and costumize it to your liking ;) and there are many to choose from :) - and the macro system is worth a mention since we can use it for a lot of things as well. about monetization -in a practical sense - the only thing worth mentioning in the game is the amount of items it has.. if you want to be a hoarder you will need more space .. and for that you need to buy retainers -each can take up to 175 slot items - its 2$ each retainer but theres no other way to get space for ALL items (and each slot stack at 99).
one of best things ff14 offers is mesh between new players and endgame. new player needs instance to pass the story and endgame players can and will help them willingly or unwillingly because they need rewards from them. its beautiful to see new playersa aren't let on their own compared to BDonline or NWonline.
LOVED this video. Thank you!
This is a good video for upcomming new players, I started a year ago when endwalker was already released for some time and I am still at the last content of shadowbringers and I feel like I have so much more to do and just dont have enough time 😆
Pretty sure it will always be worth playing.
Just started this about 3 nights ago - very enjoyable. I'm liking it a lot more than WoW
Not to mention this community is quite nice snd it has a whole system of "mentors" who can help you with questions you may have about the game
As usual great video my dude.
As population .
I log in some times like 4am and i have queue. Please people go for a sleep. 😅🤔
Those first few seconds is automatically a yes
you forgot to mention a huge part of the game!
The first dungeons start at around level 15 which is an hour or two into the game (where you learn / get into it)
Unless you tweak with some settings, you get scaled down to the dungeons level anyway
pretty good video!
I come back to FF all the time to play the story and I really want to raid but I have a hard time finding a group and the rotations are intimidating
Amazing video, will try it!
So its an mmorpg that actually cares about the rpg part? sick!
my take on FF14 after playing for years. if you intend to play for the MMORPG elements (dungeons, raids and pvp) its a solid game, but if you planning to go for the RP elements be prepared to see some passive agressive ppl in that game. I had a bunch of friends that quit FF14 because how people treated them.
Finally just gonna try it. Hate the idea of paying monthly for a game but the 30 day trial seems nice.
