I watched your video on how to prevent doming, but it doesn't look like you use any of the methods, so how are your cakes so flat??? The homemade cake strips and water bath worked the best but you don't use either. Lowering the temp helped but didn't lead to perfectly flat cakes like here. How are you doing it!??? Is your oven made of magic? 😅

Omg this recipe is amazing! I made this for my friends birthday. The lemon flavor makes it so light. I only used half the sugar for the cream cheese frosting though, but thats because we dont like very sweet buttercream. Thank you❤
I made this recipe, basically followed directions only I substituted the yogurt with sour cream (what I had on hand). And I substituted the canola oil with avocado oil (Canola oil is a seed oil and is not good for anyone’s health). Turned out very yummy!! Hope this was helpful! 😊
I just made this cake and your Cookies and Cream Cake for my family reunion today and everyone that got a piece loved it. One of my cousins loved it so much he wanted to take the rest of both of them home especially the Lemon Blueberry and make another one for his birthday in September. I always make sure to tell people that it's not my recipes to give credit where it is due. I also made sure to snatch a piece of both before they were gone and they were just perfect. So so happy to hear you're loving the recipes :D I've never tried using a homemade cream cheese in my recipes, but if you can get the homemade version to be very firm then I think it should work okay! I have made homemade cream cheese before but it's always been quite soft in the end. Maybe I'll experiment again soon and share a recipe with you all if I can figure out how to get it firm enough for a frosting :)

Hi Maryam, love your recipes and thorough instructions. I made this cake last night. However, the crumb of the cake was almost of a “crumb bread” texture. I don’t think it’s the recipe but maybe I didn’t fold the batter long enough to achieve a smooth batter. The batter was rather clumpy but all the flour had been combined. Any thoughts on what I did wrong? The batter was very airy when I filled (10) mini loaf pans and baked for 15 minutes. Great taste and lemon flavor.

Hi! What can you recommend as an substitute for cream cheese? I‘m in Europe and the available cream cheese here at the Supermarkets are the spreadable one. Even the Philadelphia brand available here is in spreadable type. I tried to use it once for cream cheese frosting but it turned out watery and curdled. 😭

Would you recommend pieces of parchment paper under the edges of the cake, for those of us who are, ahem, sloppy/inexperienced with frosting the sides of the cake? Of course they would be pulled out and discarded before presenting the cake.

Thanks so much :D for a 3 layer cake, I would recommend using the cream cheese frosting as a filling, and a more stable frosting for the outside (crumb coat and final coat) just to make sure the cake holds up :)

U can use 3 or 6inches tins and make 3 layers instead of 2. I am always used MK cake recipes for my 3 layers 6 inches cake. Hopefully it help 😊

What difference does yoghurt vs buttermilk make in baking? I have noticed that sometimes you use yoghurt, sometimes buttermilk in your lovely recipes.

Hi MK, can you use caster sugar and if so would you use the same amount?
Caster sugar is less sweet than granulated white sugarr so you would need to add half a cup more sugar if using Caster sugar
