How to burn fat in the morning: How you start your day is the most critical thing when it comes to losing weight and getting fit. In this video I’ll give you an easy cocktail that you can make first thing in the morning that will catapult you into a new state of fat loss. Using a little bit of lemon water, some apple cider vinegar, and a couple of other ingredients, you can stimulate your liver to do more detoxing work as well as prime your body to use fat for fuel! For more videos and tips for busy people that are trying to get in shape, visit www.ThomasDeLauer.com When you roll out of bed in the morning, the first thing you put in your stomach, first thing you put in your system, your body is so unbelievably receptive to. You've been fasting, and your body is just waiting to grasp on to any nutrient that comes its way. What do you want to do? What do you want to eat first thing in the morning? Because if you run into the pantry and you grab, say, some cereal, or you grab something like a PopTart, you're going to absorb all those junk nutrients, all those junk ingredients. You're not going to get the power that you need to get through the day.
This video isn't about a power breakfast, but imagine a way that you could get yourself to absorb more nutrients throughout the day. Imagine a way that you could get yourself to really have what you need and let your liver do a lot of the work of detoxification for you. The good news is, it's really simple. It's a matter of a little concoction with apple cider vinegar, some lemon, possibly some honey, and a little dash of cayenne pepper, that spicy, horrible, brutal stuff. What exactly is this going to do for you? The lemon: lemon breaks down the mucus. We are always producing mucus. We're producing it whether we're sick or whether we're not, but a lot of times when we're sick and we have a cold, you can feel the mucus because you have an abundance of it. The fact is, you always have that mucus, and a lot of times, it's inhibiting your breathing. It's making it feel like you have allergies, sometimes, when you don't even know it. That lemon's going to help cut through that.
The other thing that the lemon's going to do, which is amazing, is it helps detox the liver. When I say "detox the liver," the liver's always regenerating, so if you can give yourself some lemon, that liver's going to have a chance to regenerate and absorb what's good from the lemon first thing in the morning and stimulate the rejuvenation and the detoxification. Maybe you had one too many drinks last night and you need to have a little bit of help in boosting that liver, that lemon's going to do that for you. Then, the apple cider vinegar combined with the lemon is going to help your lymphatic system. You may wonder what the lymphatic system is. In case you didn't know, the lymphatic system is basically all your lymph nodes. All your lymph glands. You have them in your armpits, you have them in your groin, the back of your knees. They're what produce all the white blood cells that fight infection in your body. You've always got little infections going on. You've always got things going on, you've always got little cuts that your body's having to heal, and it's taking energy away from everything else in your day. If you can help the immune system and you can help that lymph system, then voila, suddenly you feel a heck of a lot better.
This is just one little way that you can help boost the lymph system. How are we going to make this drink? I've already told you the ingredients, but let's get down to what you have to do. You're going to take 12 ounces of water. Real simple. You don't have to do anything crazy to it, don't have to boil it, but I do recommend that it's lukewarm because it's going to help you absorb a little bit more.
You're going to take that water, you're going to take the juice from that half of a lemon. Just one half of a lemon, juice it on into the water, and then you're going to take two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar, you're going to add a little bit of honey just so it's not quite so tart, and then you're going to throw some cayenne pepper in it. That's kind of a wild card because the cayenne probably wasn't expected, right? The cayenne pepper's going to jack up the metabolism so you're going to burn a little bit more fat and get that metabolism raving, because let's face it, who doesn't want to burn a little bit of fat?
All you're going to do is mix these ingredients up, take a little sip, and there you go. You're just going to drink those 12 ounces of water. Do that every morning, and I promise you you will notice a result. If you're worried about the carbs in the honey, it's easy. It's easy to just phase it out.
Of all things i've tried, i was very skeptical with this. For the past 2 years, i hit a wall in weights loss. I run 15-20 miles a week, 3-7 miles for 4 days of cardio. I lift heavy in the traditional body building way and do metcons about once a week. So that's 5 days of working out with a mixture of cardios, weights and metcons. I was stuck at 178 lbs for two years with a 10% bodyfat. My diet is decent with one cheat day a week. I rarely supplement with proteins. So... after one week of trying this, I loss 8 lbs. My run times are faster, my maxs in weights has increased, and my sleep is much better.

Coming from a fitness professional such as myself, I have to say that your dedication to everything you’ve mentioned is great but it’s too much! There is such a thing as overtraining and not allowing your body to adequately recover from its previous training stimulus.
First of all, stop with all the steady-state cardio that you’re doing. The best and most proven way to burn the most body fat, boost your metabolism and maintain as much lean body mass as possible, is by doing high intensity interval training or HIIT. You should really look into! To summarize it, you spend way less time and days performing it, you can perform it on a number of different cardio equipment (treadmill, bike, elliptical, stair master etc), and because of how intense you have to work at, it triggers an after burn effect, which basically means that even after you’ve stopped working out, you’re body is still burning off calories 24-48 hours! Hence why it’s way more effective in long term fat loss.
You probably have high cortisol due to stress on body that’s stopping fat burning. Try to relax more and be mindful of stress signs. Lower your training intensity and see if that helps. I lost close to 15 Ib by following dr Mark Hyman’s relaxation routine every day even though I was just doing walks in the morning and minimum weight training.
I do this every morning and have been following your advice about intermittent fasting and have lost 65 lbs in 4 months. Obviously I had a lot to lose but my body is responding incredibly. My morning drink is:
8-12 oz h2o
2 tbs Braggs organic Apple cider vinegar
Juice of 1/2 lemon
1 tsp cream of tartar
1/8 tsp pink Himalayan salt
1/8 tsp cayenne pepper
1/8 tsp ground ginger
A little stevia to counter the tart/heat.

Good video. After my blood work, my Doctor looks at the results and says that my kidneys are in excellent condition. My 45 year old kidneys Function like a kids kidneys. Even just warm water with Fresh squeezed lemon juice in there and just drink it up quick first thing in the morning at least 2 cups 16 oz every morning. No cyanne Pepper for me. No night Shades for me. My mother grew up in the Caribbean and she always used to tell me that when you're sick to stop having all dairy for 2 weeks at least or until you recover completely. Now I avoid dairy all the time since I went plant based. I do not have all the mucous issues and postnasal drip and runny nose and wheezing at night, like I used to. All because of dairy.

I actually make a very similar drink,
So I use Half a lemon, 2 table spoons of apple cider vinegar (With mother).
But I also add in 8g of a Green fusion powder, (Spirulina, Barley, Wheat Grass, Chlorella) &
2g of N Acetyl Cycsteine (Liver support)
But now I'll also add in some cayenne pepper for that added boost in metabolism!

How much pepper do you use?
I just give my cayenne pepper shaker a few good shakes into my water. Probably around an 1/8 th of a spoon.

Can you replace the honey with liquid stevia?
If you're delaying breakfast as part of intermittent fasting would this throw that off if you had it first thing? Would it still be of benefit to have this shortly before a delayed first meal or even at some other point in the day?

Hey Thomas. Love the channel. Thank you for all of the great advice. One quick question... I am currently on a 20:4 ratio of IF. You say to drink this drink in the morning in the video, so does this mean since I am doing IF, that I should instead break my fast as my first meal? Because I found this drink pretty gross, lately in the morning I've meet mixing the apple cider vinegar and lemon and cayenne pepper with my protein shakes. That way I barely taste it. Will the shakes have a negative effect on the ingredients in the video?

Tiffini Paraboo just ran across this, turmeric is fine in moderation, as to much turmeric has been seen as the culprit showing up in more emergency rooms as the medical community deals with more cases of liver damage and failure. If one is good, doesn't make two better.

at one point in that video i mentioned he says "fasting is not eating, eating is not fasting. we need to make sure that we are not consuming ANY calories during our fasting window. period"

I would just suggest using RAW organic honey.
Raw organic honey is full of Potassium as is Raw apple cider vinegar WITH the Mother (must shake the bottle until cloudy before serving). One better is to get LOCAL raw organic honey as contains the local pollens so acts to prevent hay fever if taken regularly.

Tina I yeah I think it should be teaspoons as per Dr Bergs advice and since he’s a qualified Dr I’m following his advice. I have this tonic twice a day and don’t want 4 tablespoon total in me! However everyone had their own preferences nothing about AVC and most effective ratio of ingredients has been proven.

12ernie I just do 1 tablespoon ACV because that’s the safest minimum so why go higher? I also kick in cinnamon, ginger and cayenne with a dash of lemon juice twice a day 🙂

I just started your Reboot Program, and I'm already seeing a difference. I'm 45 years old and about 35 lbs. overweight. This year I started suffering from acid reflux, and excessive mucus that triggers my asthma. I'm on my second day of the reboot, and I noticed that I don't have any acid reflux, and my mucus production has lessened. It's still there, but I do notice the difference in the amount. The caloric deficit is the only thing that is getting to me. I'm feeling pretty fatigued, but I'm not going to give in. 5 more days to reboot my liver. Thanks for all the info.

I add cinnamon, ground ginger and turmeric. I have noticed that my digestion is so much better since I have been taking this. I am not constipated at all now. Also, my skin is amazing now. I don’t get spots and I have the most amazing dewy glow to my complexion now.

I drink it every morning. I use lemon essential oil, one or two drops then add the rest of the ingredients. My energy is up when I get to work. Not sluggish at all. A couple of my coworkers drink it too.

For quite a few months now, I’ve been taking two tablespoons of great quality extra virgin olive oil, the juice of half a lemon, a very small dash of Himalayan salt, and a dash of Cayenne in the morning on an empty stomach…and just started working out with dumbbells in the morning. I do consume (sometimes) one small mug of coffee as well. I will try your suggestion this week. Keep the information coming.
I have been drinking this for quite some time now and recently I have added a dash of turmeric and pink Himalayan salt... the salt actually brings out the sweetness of the lemon and vinegar and it tastes rather pleasant to drink
