I've been eating one avocado per day for the last 6 years. 🥑👍 Side effect....I'm now really good at picking avocados. My 3 guidelines: 1. Plan ahead, and buy the most bright green, rock hard avocados you can find...they won't be bruised up and get nasty fast. 2. Leave unripe avocados out on the counter resting on something soft, when they get darker green and have the feel of modeling clay when gently squeezed, either eat, or put in the fridge, where they'll stay good for 4-7 more days. 3. Classic pear-shaped avocados are best. Very round (spherical), and the pit will be HUGE. Very long-necked and they will be stringy/fibrous. Cheers!

#8 "Eating only protein" has been a game changer for me. Example - We just went on a cruise. I did not want to just eat garbage during our long travels days flying there and long days of activities on the trip. I still wanted to enjoy myself so I loaded lean for the majority of the day. Smoked salmon and ham during breakfast, whatever lean meat they were serving for lunch. Then during the dinner and evenings I had a little more "Play" to be a bit more free with food... Since I did not over do everything all day. At that point in the evening I am simply less HANGRY because I had not eaten junk all day. Im actually less likely to go into "Cookie Monster" mode lol. I still enjoyed food - I just tried to limit the "indulgence" to one meal max per day. The rest was clean and lean.
1. Track calories over the course of a week, not necessarily every day, to ensure being in a slight deficit by the end of the week. 2. Increase calories only when increasing activity to drive up energy flux or G flux. 3. Use caffeine as a tool and not as a crutch. 4. Do some form of fasted exercise, either cardio or weight training, at least once a day. 5. Eat lean meats like chicken breast rather than fatty meats like chicken thighs or ribeye because it's easier to track the calorie and fat intake and eat fats from additional source. 6. Use libido as a measurement. Low libido means need to increase calories. 7. Do IF 8. Eat protein rather than non-potein food 9. Not to eat snack between meal 10. Limited craving sweet by craving salt 11. Walk every opportunity, just walk more 12. Eat an avocado daily.
OMAD works! I fast for 23:1 IF and eat a big meal with lean protein, healthy fats and will eat a good dessert that has low sugar like a keto ice cream bar. I’m down 20 lbs since Jan 2024 and been working out intensely
OMAD is no longer the new kid on the block, the experts are now saying it raises all sorts of risks which is the cue for us to move on to the next fad and so forth and so forth.
Great points. After beginning I.F. I found the mental obsession with food just kind of ebbed away. Was so good to clear my mind of that. The good things I gained doing time restricted eating are too numerous to mention here, but a reversal of fatty liver disease, lowered a1c, and 80% reduction in medication. I'm a 62 yr old female and got a 28% of my body weight loss. Life changing to say the least.

Went from 353 pounds to 198 pounds in 15 months (still working to get that last 23 pounds off to get me to a 15% body fat and 24-25 FFMI). Resistance train for 1 1/2 hours 3 times a week, 30 minutes of rowing 3 times a week, and the walking. The Macadamia nuts with sea salt are great. My daughter loves them as well (we usually split a package).

I'm a Vegan and eat a plant-based diet... but that bit about going hungry rather than eating junk is true if you want to lose weight. Getting used to being hungry sometimes is very important if you want to lose weight. You're not going to die or turn into a famine victim if you don't eat for a day or two. If we are of a certain age, we were all raised with nonsense about the necessity of always having food for "energy", but it's just not true and it reduces your willpower to eat junk food.

1 - Calorie tracking over course of week 2 - Increase calories with increased activity 3 - Increase/decrease caffeine with activity level 4 - Some fasted exercise 5 - Lean meats and added fats from other sources 6 - Libido to monitor calories (if desire is down, increase calories) 7 - Eat in 12 hour window 8 - Prioritize protein 9 - Have breaks between meals (no snacking) 10 - If you have sweet craving have fruit or dark chocolate 11 - Walk as much as possible 12 - 1 avocado per day
Spot on! I love avocado but I have at least one hard boiled egg per day...and don’t worry about fat in meat really...I guess I just balance that out with eating less fat elsewhere. Now, if I could only get rid of my desk job so I could work out more I look closer to your physique. My latest focus is on VO2 max and high intensity training after I saw some convincing info about the heart...strengthen it like you would your biceps. Thanks for the great content!
Here is an easier way to track calories.. Eat when you are hungry, stop eating when you are not hungry and track your weight every day. If you are above your standard weight, cut back a little on carbs until you are back on track.
Eating fruit like mango, berries, or grapes when i crave sweet instead of grabbing the oreos or doughnut has been a huge game changer cut out sooo many calories and junk chemicals just following that rule alone 😅

I picked up These videos while healing so that i was at least mentally preparing whilst healing and they have really changed the game. What a difference from the fitfluencers I used to follow. Your videos are fantastic, and are now a staple in our home. Thank you for all of your effort and excellent content!
Why was there smoke steam from your avocado 🥑 snack what were you eating? 😅
Inquiring keto heads want to know 😃
Great video Thomas! One of my favs. Thanks for sharing!!
You give value, so value for value.
Giving and receiving is natural. It's a soft sell at worst. It's not like you are saying , "You don't buy something you can not access the infomation."
Like, "restrooms are for customers only."
I love your candidness!
1 - Calorie tracking over course of week
2 - Increase calories with increased activity
3 - Increase/decrease caffeine with activity level
4 - Some fasted exercise
5 - Lean meats and added fats from other sources
6 - Libido to monitor calories (if desire is down, increase calories)
7 - Eat in 12 hour window
8 - Prioritize protein
9 - Have breaks between meals (no snacking)
10 - If you have sweet craving have fruit or dark chocolate
11 - Walk as much as possible
12 - 1 avocado per day
Nice one.
Great golden rules
It's pretty hard to "hate on" your results!
He almost blinked when he said 'I'm not afraid of fruit.' 😂
becasue americans are so afraid of sugar....they fear it - they are religious, as always, that way - so he knew he offended them.....
Thanx Thomas..appreciate this video 👍🏽
lifestyle > diet
Here is an easier way to track calories..
Eat when you are hungry, stop eating when you are not hungry and track your weight every day.
If you are above your standard weight, cut back a little on carbs until you are back on track.
I want to count calories but I don't know how. Tom can you do a video on how to effectively count calories.
Nice lead into your commercial ad .. haha
One of your best videos. Appreciate it.
Thanks, Tom!
Eating fruit like mango, berries, or grapes when i crave sweet instead of grabbing the oreos or doughnut has been a huge game changer cut out sooo many calories and junk chemicals just following that rule alone 😅
And you might eventually lose your sweet (suga) tooth. I did.
X😮
Thank you
I would like to know if protein powders, fat burners and alike were ever involved in your physique.
Love love love everything you had to say!
What do you mean by the 4000 calories consumed and burned is more than the 2000 calories consumed and burned?
Yo T Shred! I see you rocking that BluBlox EMF shielding hat! Good stuff man !

Very helpful. Thanks.
Dam look at you. You not called V-shred for no reason!💪
This video is very important, I agree from personal failures to most points mentioned.
You Are Truly The Truth Bro I Appreciate This Content! 🗣️🦁💪🏽🏆🔥
What is the monkey bar like structure in your gym and who manufactures it? That is bad ass!
Great video! Thanks
Tom, you’re looking ripped. Bravo!
12:25 ... I would of had the whole scoop... LOL 😂
Sorry to say I think Dr. Berg's suggestion for opting higher fat meat over lean meat to buffer insulin make more sense to me.
But his added more nutritional fat supplies that function.
Yeah but the fat supplies may contain protein as well, I don’t think it’s so necessary to boost the protein that hard
