It boils down to this: There were no pizza trees in the Garden of Eden, or ice cream bushes, for that matter, or salt cellars, or refined oils. Might have had flour, but that would have been after that unfortunate encounter with the forbidden fruit, and it did not come in packages requiring no personal physical labor to consume.

Morning from Australia... it would be wonderful if my husbands GP said that to him... when I mentioned this to the GP months ago... he rubbished me and said you mean you are a vegan or doing vegetarian...... what an idiot... he was not interested....SO,,, you can imagine the negativity I have from my other .... its an uphill battle to get him to understand what it will do to fix most of his medical problems......

I’m on a wfpb diet and I keep a record of every bite of food I put in my mouth every day. I feel certain I’m eating a clean plant based diet but am really not losing weight. I have Hashimotos (sp?) hypothyroidism and am taking medication to stabilize my thyroid numbers and still not losing weight. I have an appointment with my doctor next month so hopefully my thyroid is wonky because I’m getting very discouraged.

I'm late to the party but this is a good video. Being 60, I've learned some things. Bottom line, calculating and knowing your BMR (or close to it) is THE #1 CRITICAL component to managing weight loss. That, and eating right. I can't tell you the number of overweight people I know who are eating better, yet without thinking pour 1,000 cals worth of olive oil on their healthy salad or eat 2 cups of blueberries in their 2 serving's worth of oatmeal and then they scratch their heads as to why they are not losing or are gaining weight. Your BMR will adjust downward as you lose weight, and that number will be dynamic as many things need to be considered such as weekly exercise. Know your BMR, know your foods and know your calories when weight loss is your priority.

Thank you for the video. I know I eventually need to remove my morning smoothie from my day and replace it with a meal I eat, not drink. Right now, it really helps me stay full and alert from 8AM to 2PM. That has helped me to not get as many cravings for milk chocolate, a definite binge food. Also, I can eat a smaller, later lunch and that helps me get through any munchy, late afternoon prime time cravings. I am still losing weight so I'm not in a hurry to eliminate that morning smoothie. But I know there are other options I need to try when weight loss stalls.

SINCE IT'S WORKING, DON'T CHANGE IT. IT HAS WORKED FOR MANY OF US. I'VE BEEN DOING A GREENS-FRUITS-VEGGIES-SEEDS SMOOTHIE FOR BREAKFAST FOR ABOUT 20 YRS AND IT HAS REALLY MADE A DIFFERENCE ON MY WHOLE BODY & MIND HEALTH. IT'S MY BREAKFAST & LUNCH "MEAL" AFTER MY GREEN TEA AND GOLDEN MILK. AND THEN I'M NOT HUNGRY UNTIL ABOUT 2 OR 3PM WHEN I HAVE A SNACK AND LATER A LIGHT DINNER AT 7PM.
I USED TO HAVE FIBROMYALGIA & CFIDS (CHRONIC FATIGUE IMMN DISF SYNDRM) AND THYROID DISFUNCTION AS WELL AS PTSD, AND NOW I HAVE IT ALL UNDER CONTROL. OF COURSE THE PANDEMIA HAS DISRUPTED THE NORM, BUT I'M DOING PRETTY GOOD THNK GOD.
SO KEEP IT UP GIRL. YOU WONT REGRET IT. A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE GROWS ON YOU.

I am so glad I discovered your site. One thing that really speaks to me in your presentation is the idea that there is nothing wrong with my lack of willpower- that's why it's so important to eat healthy foods that don't make us struggle with willpower in the first place. I'd never overeat rice, potatoes or pasta. It's sugar combined with fat that is my kryptonite. My only slight question/issue is that I do feel better when I eat some protein like tofu. I'm breastfeeding and fairly active- I wonder if that is still okay to lose weight?

before exercise : water based smoothie of fresh or frozen kale, any berries plus whatever fruit sweetens it- i need less sweetness over time
after my 1000 yard swim I eat
1-2 Pint Jars -half full/1 cup Red Mill 5 grain flakes - King arthur Chai seasoning( no caffeine) or cinnamon, few raisins, few nuts. equal amt filtered water. Microwave 1.5 minutes. I May need more fresh fruit or 1 can rinsed beans

Great video. Do you know how many calories per pound is extra firm tofu? I can’t seem to find any info on that. Also I made your creamy balsamic dressing and there is a lot of it and only me to use it. Besides salads would it be good on steamed veggies and potatoes? Also, can some of it be frozen? I do not usually freeze salad dressings but there is so much and I do not want a drop of it to be wasted. How long does the dressing last? Thanks again. Your videos are so informative and a treasure for great health!

Look at the calories per serving on the tofu it should give a weight per serving snd you can calculate the calories per pound. The dressing us good for 5-7 days. It is good on vegetables. It can be frozen.

I didn’t hear you talk about:
    1) organic fruits are far better for you, as conventional fruits are mostly genetically modifies and full of sugar.
    2) eating fruits in season only.
    3) so-called vegetable oils are bad for you, they are chemically derived and full of omega 6 fatty acids which is a health hazard.
    4) juicing is bad as it concentrates more sugars, eat the whole fruit instead.
    5) Night shade plants, such as potatoes can cause inflammation for some people.

    • @NutmegNotebook
      @NutmegNotebook  2 роки тому +1

Not everyone has to give up the higher calorie density foods. It’s an individual thing. Do the most liberal version of this lifestyle that allows you to have the health and weight that is right for you. My husband can eat some of the higher calorie density foods and not gain weight. Do I wish I could eat them too, sure but it doesn’t work for me. Concentrate on the things you are gaining from your healthy choices rather then focusing on what you are giving up. Health is our greatest wealth. Feeling good in our own skin is a better reward then the few seconds of pleasure we get from eating some highly palatable food that isn’t good for us. Portion control of highly processed highly palatable foods doesn’t work for most people and it isn’t health promoting. There are other things in life to get our joy from - besides food. ❤️

1000mcg.. you can get the vitamin that goes under your tongue and just dissolves you should also start taking liquid D3 50 MCG. Trust me you will start to feel better. The vitamin D you take after you eat breakfast lunch or dinner, whichever you prefer. You should definitely get a harness for the pup. Collars can be dangerous if there left on when you're not home. The harness will definitely work better
