    I resonated with this video. I dont usually write out my menus and I despise counting calories. Today I am going to write out my menu for tomorrow along with the calorie counting. I have been at a plateau for months now. It is super frustrating. I am also always trying to eat to that "Full feeling" which seems so evasive for me. Then once I get there I am in pain and regret it! I got your blueprint yesterday and it was helpful. Thanks Ryan for always putting out great content. I am trying to figure all of this out......need to lose 50#.

      Thank you Sheri. And if you are successfully losing weight consistently...well you have no major reason to necessarily set up a precise menu, look into your calorie intake, etc. But as you say...you've hit a plateau and it's time to try something different. To let go of that stubbornness around looking into your calorie intake will benefit you massively, I promise you.

    Thank you for the very clear guidance. I’ve now seen several of your videos. I found it so helpful to see the 100 calories of food vs the volume of food. I feel like I can get a better handle on kinds of food to put inside my body. I sooo appreciate you and the terrific effort you put into your content with information. 🌈💜❣️

      You are the kind of person I made this video for. Have you watched it? I cover exactly why this is happening. You have likely (unknowingly) increased your calorie intake for one reason or another. I walk through the solutions in this video. Please watch through and then feel free to comment if you are still unclear.

    Hi Ryan, you mentioned reducing grains and I would add legumes too, which are even higher in calories. I recently made my salad without one of the root veggies (beetroot) and this is saving me another 100 cals per day, it all adds up, especially when losing the last couple of lbs that just won't go! Hi to George, amazing cameraman, thank you guys, you should be on Chef AJ or one of the other WFPB channels as you do such good work and they don't have enough guests from the UK

    • @fitwithryanadams
      @fitwithryanadams  6 місяців тому +1

      I like to preserve the legumes for the other nutrients they offer - whereas the nutrients from slightly reducing grains are easily made up elsewhere. I am glad you have been able to make an easy calorie saving! George is doing a great job, thank you.

    Great video! This happened to me gaining weight going vegan so I stopped and started eating meat again. But I would like to start again just eating a plant based diet because I know is very healthy , so I appreciate your knowledge and advice, hopefully this time I will do it right and not get weight again.

      It's hard for me to comment because I wasn't a fly on the wall for your transition to going vegan previously, but I imagine you increase carb component when you moved to this way of eating - not that the carbs themselves caused the weight gain, but it increased your overall calories to the point where you were in a surplus. So, this time, just use this video and my others as a guideline to make sure you're not in a calorie surplus and get everything you need :)

    I really like your kitchen❤ and the content 😂. My Husband is trying to gain weight, he eats like 3000-4000cal a day and is still at his lowest weight, the healthier we eat, the more he looses. He is pure muscle, but is getting smaller in generell. When we ate unhealthy he felt better, he is not thinner than others but it looks not healthy when you had known his before. Ppl ask if is okay, if he eats enough😢. He loves my food and eats loads of it, like 4 meals a day. His blood tests are fine, doc says he is super healthy. But he doesn't feel happy feeling so 'light'😢.

    Hi Ryan, I agree about a calorie deficit being critical. I just have one question that came up after watching the documentary “You Are What You Eat.” The documentary covers the study on identical twins, they gave one twin a WFPB vegan diet and the other twin a “healthy” diet that was carnivorous. Overall the vegans did well. However, one of the vegan twins lost weight but a scan determined she had lost muscle weight. This did not happen to all of the participants but it made me wonder how I can know if my calorie deficit is too much. How do I dial in my calories, fat loss, and muscle gain? I want to get this right.
    Thank you for any tips

      Hello Patti, good question. Ultimately when you lose weight you are going to lose some muscle, it's inevitable. But there are a couple of things you can do to protect AGAINST the amount of muscle you lose. The first is by increasing protein intake - and combined with a good, progressive resistance training program, some participants will find that they actually GAIN muscle despite being in a calorie deficit. The second is to ensure that your calorie deficit is not too aggressive in the first instance. Rather than following the conventional advice of starting at 500 calories below maintenance, I like to set my clients on a 250-350 deficit. There are several reasons I do this, but one of them is to minimize muscle loss. I hope this helps.

      I will bump up my beans and start using my Cronometer more faithfully…maybe aim for a one pound a week loss as I learn the nutritional outcome of my meal choices.

    Ryan I just moved from vegetarian to full vegan, plant based. I am focusing on stop being a junk food vegan eliminating the processed faux meat, like garden, beyond etc. I want to start making walnut meat, and using mushrooms and rely on tofu, Lupini bean seitan etc. do you think you can make a video on this? Such as I’ve never made my own version of just egg from chickpeas. Or meal prepping vegan breakfast sandwiches.

    one year in to wfpb and I have gained 25#. Even though the bloodwork is good. Compounded w/ post-menopause. It's been soul destroying. I'm thinking of going back to paleo which kept me at 135# for 5 yrs even though I really don't want to put meat products in my body again.

      Hey. You’re simple eating too many calories and mistakenly putting this at the door of plant based nutrition. Please see here: ua-cam.com/video/nWuDlXj8sVo/v-deo.htmlsi=YqejR7aMD1gHJPzN

    I've been has been a vegetarian for the past 15 years. They experienced an illness about a year ago which lasted for a week. Following this, they continued to lose weight for several months, eventually experiencing a total loss of 45 pounds. Despite undergoing multiple tests, they have been unable to identify the root cause of the weight loss and are seeking suggestions for how to address it.
