I'll have to stop by the Whip Con just to say thank you for the videos :) - managed to build nine 6' bullwhips and three 3' snakewhips thanks to the tutorials :)
Couple of things, I love your tutorial vids. They are easy to fallow and have lots of details in the instructions. Second, I've made 3 whips now using your method (a 3' snake, 6' bull, and the last one was an 8' bull) all have turned out great specially the 8' using your latest method minus the Dacron. Did a Good blue and orange theme and I absolutely love it. Because of you I'm now starting a 4' bull for a friend of mine, keep up the great content always look forward to your vids. Maybe one day I'll try my hand at a stock whip, with your guidance I'm sure it will be just as spectacular as all the rest. Thanks again for tutorials.
Thanks, Nick! Love this video. I have made several stockwhips using your other video. (BTW, I think your stockwhip video is your BEST teaching video). Beautiful whip you have just made. Love the way you attache the keeper, can't wait to try that. Beautiful whip as usual. You definitely are the master of whip making and sweet, too!
Hi Nick I want to thank you for all your helpful tutorials. I'm new to whip making. I'm most interested in plaiting. I'm having trouble trying to keep my plaiting uniformed. The front will look really nice but when I look at the backside or underside the plaiting is smaller, maybe even tighter. I was hoping you could make a tutorial for plaiting technics showing why this is and how to correct it. Thanks much Tyler
Beautiful. And I love the method of attaching the handle keeper. That's a lot easier! Very informative video, as well a a great production quality. Keep it up!
Hey Nick. First and foremost, thank you for all the hard work you do in giving us all these tutorials. I wanted to ask if you could make a video on your process of calculating what lengths to use for each strand?
is there a link to a calculator or something to determine how much paracord to buy per general whip of whatever length? or a general video about it? Thanks
Hi Nick, at the moment I only have access to 275 Paracord. Is this material also a valid building material? What is the downside compared to 550 lbs Paracord? Thanks a lot in advance!
works as well, you maybe need more strands to fill all gaps and therefore you will have it a bit harder, because of the higher count of strands to plait, but otherwise there should be no problem... Adam Winrich did some of his own whips with 275 Are you from Germany?
@@songsfuermich well your name is not really foreign... I'm my self from Germany... aber falls du Paracord suchst, gib bei Google Paracordstore.de ein, dir haben alles was du willst aber falls du mal dein 275 verwendest, kannst du ja mal bescheid geben, wie gut es fkt. hat
NIck, I am thinking that possibly jiu jitsu is not your thing (although it should be) but, Roy Dean has a great way of filming. I commend you to his videos and think that your creativity is very similar. I am curious what you think.
Hey, Nick! Greetings from Brazil! I was wondering if you could help me with something. I'm a big Indy fan and I always wanted to have a whip like his. So, I watched your videos, a lot, sometimes more than once, and you inspired me into making me a whip! But instead of paracord, I wanted to use cow hide because paracord is really difficult to find here in Brazil, specially in the city I live, Salvador. So, can you help me with what to use in the foundation, besides paracord filled with BBs? (what should I use instead?) What's the size of the core for a 10 ft. whip? (I know the handle is a 8-inch long steel spike, but, what about the rest of the core?) The strand lengths for a 10 ft. 12 plait Indy whip? And what should I use as a substitute for the artificial sinew? (It's also really hard to find :/) Hopefully, as a master whipmaker, you'll be able to give me some guidance on this build. Huge fan of your work, man! Keep it up and keep rocking! Thank you so so so much in advance! Best regards and grateful, Guilherme 😁
Guilherme: Leather is heavier, so you shouldn’t need to shot load the core with BB’s. You may also want to watch Bernie’s video on building a bullwhip, or Bill Nones videos on leather whip making.
What is the closest paracord size compared to the Whipmaker's Cord? I wanted to buy some but theparacordstore dosen't ship to to any international locations at this time. Thanks!
Using your drill as a makeshift lathe type tool is bloody brilliant!

I have probably watched this video ten times. I love it!

Welcome back, Nick!

Is it possible to do the three last knots with 550 paracord?

is there a way to use less knots? can u start/finish the plaiting in a pretty way with 2 different colours on each side with no knot?
please tell me how long to make stockwhip?
