Loved the video! I’ve been making whips using your channel since 2015! Thanks for teaching me this cool craft. I made a “test” performance hybrid whip but found that I had some difficulty cracking it because it was so light. On my second, I added some BBs to the core and it cracks effortlessly!
Good video mate, I just finished my first whip using this as a guide. when you said you need to get back into the guitar I was literally looking at my guitars thinking the same thing. I was wondering if you can show some fancy plaiting designs for a handle of a stock whip or a hybrid whip? I have a book by Ron Edwards, How to Make Whips; but the diagrams can be hard to follow. Your instructions are so much better; plus I just love watching your videos. Thanx again, Nick!
I JUST ordered a nylon whip. I am ashamed to say, that I completely forgot about you brother! If you are still in production, I would much prefer my next whip come from you.
2:50:13 FYI, I recently tried using a 3.5" (ish) jig needle with an angled tip (3mm diameter) to thread the paracord through the hole in the handle to attach the thong. Worked very well, granted I had to grab it with pliers to pull it through. I could probably put a little curve in the shaft of the needle to take care of that. Yes, you need to cut the end of the strand at an angle and melt it to as fine a point as you can manage, in order to screw the needle onto the paracord. Um...I think Jig Pro Shop has a myriad of needle types and sizes.
Funny you say its a conversation piece. I take a whip with me on all my hikes in bear territory and oh my god i have made sales and met great people soley because of this whip lol

HI Nick, I recently watched your video on cracking a whip overhead featuring whips from Cat Fimple. I've made two hybrid whip thongs now but they are both quite stiff for the first 18 to 24 inches. How much tension should be put into the initial core build and binding when plaiting? Also when doing the final overlay? I've watched a few videos of whip makers using leather and it seems they pull and seat the leather with a fair bit of tension. I'd like to be able to have the same kind of roll out that your whips have or that of the featured whips from Cat Fimple. Thank you for your time and all the fabulous whip videos you've made.

whats the reason for no hockey tape / not braiding the core strands all the way down like in your other videos?
HI Nick, I recently watched your video on cracking a whip overhead featuring whips from Cat Fimple. I've made two hybrid whip thongs now but they are both quite stiff for the first 18 to 24 inches. How much tension should be put into the initial core build and binding when plaiting? Also when doing the final overlay?
